Delivered to wrong address due to google and eventually after being directed to address a short walk away in pouring rain we after heating up the food eventually eat 45 minutes after it had been delivered to wrong address

Really good food but your insistence of not accepting any type or card payment isn’t good enough in this day and age. It’s clearly a case of potential tax avoidance

Always consistently good food and always arrives quickly. Been ordering from here for many years and never left a review until now. They look to have rebranded from Monkey and Dog Eat Thai to Charm Eat Thai but food just as good as always. Best Thai takeaway in York.

Had the chicken teriyaki lunch time special. Was delicious, very polite service too. Highly recommend.

Sorry!! Just spent 3 months in Krabi in Thailand , and that food was a bad representation of Thai food !! Lacked taste , overall was very poor !! Need to improve!!

Delicious food & very friendly service. Ordered a takeaway for collection, and it was amazing food. Very lucky find, it just happened to be the nearest restaurant to our holiday accommodation! Highly recommend.

Delicious food with friendly staff who were happy to make adjustments. They are cash only but the nearest cash point is just down the street in a co op.

We were looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in York and this came up in a search probably because it's got "Dog" in its name. However it is genuinely dog-friendly too which was really nice. Really top notch Thai food in an informal, slightly 'cafe-like' restaurant. The staff were very friendly, and even bought a bowl of water over for our dog. In fact they even offered some prawn crackers for the dog (which we declined - can't imagine what they'd do to the dog's digestive tract!). Note restaurant accepts cash only, (at Feb 2024).

We found this restaurant on Google maps for while we were at a nearby guest house and what a gem of a place. The food was absolutely fantastic. It was cash only, but they let you know when you phone to book, so not an issue. Would use again if in the area

All lovely food, hot and on time. The curries were super tasty and were fresh with plenty of tender chicken. (Wasn’t sure if I received the correct size bag of prawn crackers however given I paid £3 and it was only a very small bag. But hey!)

Excellent delivery time and good value. But the food seemed greasier than previous times and not as tasty.

Absolute little gem of a restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was quick. I had pangane curry with sticky rice and my partner had the massamam curry. Huge pieces of beef in his and lots of them. I had duck and the only complaint is that there was a layer of skin on it. I don't mind skin but it wasn't crispy so had to cut it all off. But apart from that minor thing it was really tasty. Definitely go back while we are in York. 10 out of 10 for taste and service.

Food arrived hot. The red curry was delicious and the pad Thai and pad mee were delicious too. Never had a bad meal from here. My local Thai takeaway too so it’s a massive thumbs up from me.

The food was lovely! I had the green curry with chicken and it was really tasty and the chicken was so moist.

Most of the food was great but the pad mee tasted burned and unpleasant which was a real shame as I usually love that one

The best beef massaman curry you'll find anywhere period. The portions are always more than ample, the food is always delicious n cooked to perfection and I've never had to wait longer than 45min for my order to arrive.

Came here by myself while my partner was waiting in A&E (Boyfriend of the year ⭐️). I’ve been to many Thai restaurants and this was perhaps the best one. Amazing food. They did forget to put the spicy in my spicy noodles but it turned out to be better this way because they gave me a bowl of chilli flakes so I could make it just the right level of spicy for myself. Very friendly staff. Strongly recommend anyone bored and hungry waiting with someone at A&E to come here. Just remember to bring them back a sandwich from the co op.

Amazing food. The only suggestion I would make though is to put a little bit more rice in the portion. It’s a decent size but with the curry’s I run out of rice! It’s normally the other way round which is worse. But overall best Thai in York.

Our favourite Thai restaurant in York. Recommend cod in Black pepper sauce - beautifully fried cod and better than most chippies! You won't be disappointed. Note that they are cash only.

What an incredible find. We were staying outside the city centre and came across this place on our walk from the hotel and thought the food looked nice and reasonably priced. My husband went for the Thai iced tea and it was unbelievable- so beautifully and perfectly sweet. Our food was cooked fresh to order and was fantastic- just the perfect blend of spices. It was just such a wonderful meal and our host was brilliant too!

Lovely independent restaurant and great tasting food - ordered the sharing platter and a couple fo currys, everthing was perfect bar the ribs which were unfortunately very dry so one star down but the rest of the meal and service more than made up for it - iced tea was amazing too 🍹👌😊

We dined in and it was very good. It is like eating in a delivery/collection takeaway as that part of the business is very busy. The staff are very good. The food choice and quality is excellent. We had the mixed starter and there was plenty and all hot and tasty. Mains were good and generous portions. Wait between starters and mains was a bit long but they were busy with deliveries. Recommended Thai food

Everything was really tasty, hot and fresh. Star wings were delicious as were the king prawns and the steamed dumplings. My only slight disappointment was the pad Thai with chicken and beef. It arrived hot but very little meat or anything else in the noodles. Quite pricy at £9.25. All in all it was very nice.

Really tasty starter and main. Lots of flavour and nicely cooked. Was a little on the tepid side but not so much I could be bothered to warm it up.

One of our favourite take-aways. Good choice, excellent flavours and reliable delivery service. We had the mixed starter to share, followed by a duck and king prawn curry. Everything was delicious!

Grainy, almost curdled curry and cold because it came so early

We ordered a take away which was over hours late. Firstly they send someone else’s order. Then It arrived with missing main items. We called the restaurant who resent it. It all was cold. They promised they would refund the meal. We ordered it via Just Eat. We did as they instructed. But they refused the request and wouldn’t even engaged into a discussion with us. The order was over £60. The restaurant customer service was really disappointing. When we called again they basically told us they this never happened

Fantastic service and the food was wonderful and tasty.

I ordered the prawns salad and deep fried veg, the service was extremely fast however the prawns were not cooked in the middle and there was no sauce, the liquid tasted of sea water. They did replace the salad and was much better the second time round.

The only issue we had was the satay chicken was slightly undercooked, everything else was as tasty as usual. We didn't go hungry, but slightly pink chicken was a bit of a damper for the starters. Have ordered from here many times, and will happily do so again.

same as last time staff sat filling their faces and still says closed on the door ,when they are open . this is a few times I've gone passed looks shut so I go to the Chinese on the way back people being served lol lazy just flip the sign

Booked 1.5 hours in advance but was still late! The food was very delicious though so it made up for the lateness I would highly recommend- the portions are generous plenty of chicken and king prawns

Loved this restaurant, it had a laid back cafe feel, not too posh! Service was brilliant, very quick, food came very quickly and was excellent and very reasonably priced. Would head straight back to this place if I were in the area again. Only downside was it was cash only - there's a coop just up the road with a cashpoint though!

Not many tables and a little out of the way but well worth a visit for beautiful Thai food and a reasonable price. Staff are great and you can take your dog too.

Ordered a Massaman curry. Little flavour, Should be spicy and taste of peanuts but didn't. Looks as if they use a standard curry gravy and just had whole peanuts. Although a reasonable amount of chicken some was dry. Very disappointed. Suggest they try the Massaman at CHAOPHRAYA in Leeds too see what it should taste like. The Duck rolls were nice.

Food was much blander than usual, no spice at all to the Massaman.

Found by chance, as it was close to our accommodation for the weekend. The food came quickly and there was a great selection. A super meal at very fair prices for York. Worth the short walk from the city centre. Well recommend.

Delicious food, lots of tasty veg in the Pad Thai. Very mild, perfect for my sensitive taste buds. Food was ready a few minutes before my collection time and the staff were really friendly.

Called in for a takeaway on a Saturday evening wile staying overnight in York. Ordered a sharing platter for 2, beef massamam curry, spicy noodle (with chicken) and few sides. Very polite service, very speedy preparation while I was waiting. The food was absolutely delicious, the massamam curry was the best we have ever tasted, the beef perfectly cooked, the noodles were indeed spicy 🔥🥰. The mixed starter was lovely with the dipping sauces on the side. Will absolutely be back here next time we visit York (unless you want to open another branch anywhere near Rotherham 😊) x

Ordered 2 different Thai curries , both were tasty but you could tell they had been microwaved prior to collection as they still had the cling film over the tubs along with the microwaveable rice that was still in the packaging. Sadly not fresh tasting so would not buy from here again.

We read a few of the reviews and decided to give it a go. We love Thai food and this restaurant/takeaway serves some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had. It’s a small restaurant but what it lacks in size it makes an impact with its food which is delicious and as many people have said, the best outside of Thailand. Definitely highly recommend

As always, the monkey and the dog eat Thai provided a delicious meal on time. My only issue is the price - however, that won't stop me ordering from there in the future
