This is our go-to takeaway when we want a curry. The food is exceptionally nice and the service great. You receive the odd free item when you spend so much, such as additional poppadom. They also have a card reward scheme where you get a discount after so many visits. Great if you’re a regular! We’ve had both collection and delivery orders and both have been great.

I stay close to this restaurant so I order online and walk along the road to collect. Never been disappointed yet. Staff are friendly.

My husband always mentioned this Indian to me as he only lived down the road when he was younger and loved there food and found out tonight that they do home delivery so of course we had to order from here as he's rave about this place so much since I've been with him and have never had a meal from here .We had a emperor meal for 2 person and it was the best meal I've have had for a while from an Indian, poppadom were fresh,Tikka naan bread was so fresh and the onion bhaji was very tasty,the curry's were amazing... there was enough there for 4 people if you like normal portions. definitely recommend and can't wait to order again ....thank you Ali

Terrible service. Ordered the food at 6.50, the food didn’t arrive within an hour and a half so I rang and they said it was “out for delivery soon”, after another 20 minutes of waiting I rang again at 8.40, the operator said there was a mess up with another delivery resulting in the order being deleted. I was offered 50% off which is a absolute scam, should be free for the time wasted. Don’t know how often this may happen as I doubt this is a one off glitch.

Very disappointed after my first experience of Modern Balti in Barry. On Thursday 20th October - First they lost my order which was placed online, which meant I waited 45 minutes for my food. When I arrived home with the order, it was very poor quality. The onion bhajees were hard and quite tasteless and the curry sauce was very thin and nowhere near to madras strength.

Thought I try here tonight for a change, The best Indian I've had, and I've tried them all in Barry, quick delivery and a great price 👏👏👏👍

2nd time we have ordered from here and 2nd time we have waited forever for delivery. Had to phone to ask where order was after 1hr 30 min wait and they were quite rude. When food arrived was very disappointed with vegetable balti as described "exotic veg" only to find it was basically carrot/peas/potato/corn and green beans....not very "exotic" mix!!

Over an hour and a half late. First follow up call, told it was with driver, 20 minutes later...Still with the driver. Chicken was tough as old boots. Bajees were not good and super greesey. Chips were stone cold. Won't ever order again from here.

A top Indian takeaway, always excellent food and service.

What is the point of having time selections if they are not followed. Requested our food to be delivered at 8:15 as family members were in work & wanted food hot for when they come home. Delivery turned up a hour early & was refused to be taken back! Very poor timing

In the past has always been very good. Unfortunately tonight one of the meals was extremely salty, so much so it was inedible. Phoned to complain and had no offer of replacement, just told "sorry darling, next time will be better, sorry darling", then they hung up. Very surprised by how poor this is.

Just had the worst Indian takeaway from modern balti. Every time I have ordered for the last 3 times it has been over 40mins late and cold. Having to warm it up in the microwave! The last time my order was wrong and they said they would send the missing item but driver was currently in rhoose. I just asked for a refund. Still waiting for it. This is the last time I will using Modern balti again. Goodbye from a loyal customer who has just had enough of wasting my money.

Delicious as always. Ordered 2 meals and froze one. The defrosted meal was even better. Always friendly staff. Advised from the start that the delivery would be 20 mins late. Well worth the wait.

Absolutely stunning food! I went out of my comfort zone and ordered a chill chicken Balti instead of a korma and it was absolutely amazing! Definitely be back soon

We ordered early on Saturday night, as we have done many times and were so disappointed. The delivery time was increased to 1 hour 30 mins! Our food was delivered freezing cold and the rice missing from our order completley!! We called the restaurant twice regarding this and were offered no apology or refund/discount. Shocking!! The worst meal we have had from there and now reluctant to order even again!

Normally have a really good experience but today I experienced awful customer service. Gave me a can of Pepsi when I paid for the 1.5L bottle. I rang up and the man called me sir when I am a clearly a woman and the order was for a woman. He then said I can come and collect the Pepsi and I asked if I could have it delivered as my partner had just come back after driving there then they hung up on me? Really rude phone manner - also their chips were stone cold. I order often from here and never had a problem but now I won't be ordering again if that's how they address their mistakes. I can't believe they hung up whilst I was in mid sentence!

first time we have ever tried this restaurant, don’t think we’ll be using again. our food was late not by much so didn’t really mind, but the bag was absolutely dripping in oil, the curry itself was quite watery and tasted like it had been well over seasoned with salt, as that is all I could taste, my partner said the same about his curry, I had chicken tikka masala and he had a lamb jalfrezi. all in all very disappointed.

Food is always amazing sheek kebabs are mouth watering, best we've had . Chicken pakoras are nice but alot of batter. Pila rice is nice and Keema nan is nice plenty of meat in there chips are lush . Always come here for great food

My food took over 2 hours and it was all cold all of the food was under cooked and it was absolutely terrible... My nan had absolutely no meat in it and it was very expensive 27 pounds for one meal.. It was absolutely terrible....... Absolutely terrible I will never even go there again

Curry was lovely and byriani filling sadly ordered same thing on 2 nights it seemed the selection of meat and apetisers didnt agree with me it seems my digestion is a little too sensative to too much oil. Overall i simply loved tge curry and rice. Great service will order again accept cant order the platter again. ( mores the pitty.

The curry's all taste the same and leave you with a very bad tummy the next day. Will not be back as this is everytime.

This is the 4th (&last;) time we ordered. Each time something has been forgotten in our takeaway once we receive it. On Our 3rd time ordering we requested that it was delivered at a particular time, as we weren't ready to eat yet. But, it came very fast, about hour and a half before time we requested. Very disappointing as we weren't hungry.

Delicious food, can't fault quality of the food. Very generous with chicken breast. All the naans are tasty too. Slight downfall was the delivery time but that hasn't tainted the over all experience. Would order again!

had family down visiting so decided to order as it's our regular curry house. I will say I was very disappointed with my main meal as I always order the same meal a chicken raj and this time it was a red colour, very spicy(which isn't usually the case) and it tasted like fish even though it was a chicken dish. I don't know if they used the same sauce as my brother in law who had prawns and just put chicken in mine but I didn't enjoy it at all. other than that the family was happy with theirs. I also hate the fact they have risen their delivery charge by 60p which is now £2.50 instead of £1.90 I didn't like spending that. I think it's bad.

By far the best Indian takeaway in Barry food is excellent great portions and great taste after trying quite a few other takeaways this one is by far the best shame about the customer service when you phone to order as they can be a bit rude and abrupt but well worth putting up with that as the food is very good. Small tip probably best to collect rather than have deliver ad they are very busy and there is usually a long wait for delivery,
