The Mill in West Oxfordshire

Stayed 1 night here, after booking and paying got an email saying that you had to pay £10 to use hotel car park. When it says parking available at hotel does not mention charge!! Would not of stayed there if we had known. Lovely staff ok accomodation. Restaurant was good and again very helpful staff. Would not stay here again though.

This is signposted as hotel and restaurant Drove there to find the gates locked and place deserted. Appeared to be closed on a permanent level Looks to be a magnificent property!

The hotel is still there and looks attractive but they only have rooms available now, no restaurant.

We stopped here for cappuccinos mid morning. Although the coffe was expensive at £3.50, it did come with a homemade chocolate biscuit . The young Czech waitress was lovely - friendly, welcoming and fun. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

We were staying else where at The Wild Rabbit but on route back from The Cotswold Wildlife park stopped here for a late lunch as I think they were probably the only people still serving lunch! Lovely staff, great steak sandwich and they have a lovely outside area on lovely grounds!

Went with a large group of 15+ family and friends for lunch. Food took a while to come out (service was slow, even for a big group) but when it did, was delicious. Setting outside was lovely, perfect for photos.

Called here tonight for dinner, hadn't booked and they were busy. Was informed they could find us a table but there would be a little wait on food. We ordered and the food was served promptly. The service and food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The steak I had was cooked to perfection and my husband had chicken of which he thoroughly enjoyed. We have been here to dinner on several occasions and never been let down by food or service. The grounds are just kept so beautiful and tidy and even the seating outside is lovely. Well done to you all at The Mill, you do an excellent, first class service to your customers.

A lovely place, great service, excellent menu. We had the smoked local fish sharing platter. A lovely bottle of white wine too. Suggest you book at weekends as very popular

We are local and love love love this place. Superb food and service, very reasonable prices. Excellent with beautiful gardens. Staff are fantastic, food is consistently and always delicious, very good changes in the menu to reflect the seasons. Wonderful!

We were looking for somewhere to sit outside in lovely surroundings. On the day we went they offered a specials menu. Our choices were more than ample and freshly cooked to order.

My wife and I have lunched at The Mill on a number of times and have always found it a most enjoyable experience. The food is excellent as are the staff who really do make you feel welcome. As well as the normal lunch menu there is the daily special which provides a small selection of dishes at a reasonable price of £12 for 2 courses. We elected for the normal menu and recommend the fish and chips which was perfect. A very well run establishment.

Stopped in for a late afternoon drink. The host couple were working the bar. The locals were friendly and informative about the area. Everyone was very welcoming.

I joined friends staying in the area for a delightful lunch. The service was good and we thoroughly enjoyed the sharing fish platter.

Family reunion on a sunny day with extensive menus, beautiful presentation and quality fish dishes for seven of us. Could not have been better - sitting in the extensive gardens before and after the meal.

El lugar teníamos pensado para el almuerzo tuvimos un evento privado, así que tuvimos que buscar otro sitio y vaya estamos contentos de haberlo hecho! Nos topamos en el molino, y sin duda volveremos. Tiene una enorme zona de estar al aire libre y una fabulosa zona de comedor interior encantador y acogedor. Había un menú del almuerzo que era muy razonable, así como especialidades diarias para complementar el menú principal. La elección fue estupenda, y una buena relación calidad-precio. Tuve una deliciosa ensalada césar con pollo y mi amigo la hamburguesa. Excelente servicio y el café con un delicioso pastelitos caseros petit, un detalle encantador. Una comida fabulosa!

Have been here many times for Sunday lunch over past 2 years, as we love it. Food always good & the staff are very professional & friendly.Took our friends last week & they also thought very good.

Este hotel claramente deben estar en negrita lo suficiente para que no y no en el hotel.. y en qué momento... en su entrada, así que no pierda tiempo y expectativas de la gente.Este hotel sacó un anuncio grande en julio en la página trasera de una revista local acogedor niños a correr sus hermosas... obviamente con padres adjunto para pedir comida y bebidas. No es razonable.Mi mujer apareció recientemente con nuestros 2 hijos y au pair Español para hacer exactamente eso. Así que qué problema con pedir café babychinos para 2 adultos y para los niños que normalmente tienen algo de comer... han sido varias veces antes.Fue justo antes de las 10 am... es el problema de acuerdo con el propietario y en general todo el viejo gruñón hombre Paul Drinkwater.Le pidió a mi esposa lo que querían simplemente como ella había aparcado el coche... er... café y galletas y correr.Nada... demasiado temprano... los huéspedes no gusta.En primer lugar porque pensó que era una broma, así que preguntó si en realidad era de broma... pues no.... él no estaba.Entonces ella preguntó si prefiere si fue a Daylesford en vez... se encogió de hombros en una sugerencia que no me importó. Cuando recordaba que él también había anunciado que los niños nos bienvenido a correr alrededor del césped, en el anuncio...él también parecía no importarle.Así que si has leído los comentarios de este establecimiento se dará cuenta de que la mayoría giran en torno al proceso de selección de ánimo propietarios... y deseo de atraer... más que otros huéspedes en el hotel.Así que todo el mundo un favor y claro en una tabla fuera que hacer y no me gusta de su hotel y por qué.Claramente los niños antes de las 10:00 y cualquiera con un portátil son más incómodos.Hay muchos hoteles... pubs... restaurantes y cafeterías en esta zona que ofrecen un servicio mucho mejor a todos.

Llevé a mi hija y padre de Mill, después de un día caminando por la zona de los alrededores.Lo que un final perfecto para un día especial tres generaciones disfrutando de la compañía de los otros. No!En la noche una suave de finales de verano el molino proporciona el lugar perfecto. Preciosos jardines para disfrutar de la calidez de los desteñidos del día. Excelente servicio, nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos y como en casa. Excelente comida! Recomiendo encarecidamente el pescado ahumado Bandeja!!Gracias.

Theset dinner menu changed daily and though the portions were not large, they were tasty and filling. There are several menus to choose from and diners could mix and match if desired without a 3 act play!

Came here for dinner with family. The food was great as was the service. We were even able to have our well behaved dog sitting with us. The establishment are nicely decorated and appear to be clean and homely. Look forward to returning.

We called in at The Mill for lunch with some friends and have to say it was a lovely meal and the service was also very good, would definitely go back.

Mi esposa y yo acabamos de pasar un 10 días en el Molino Hotel y restaurante. Ubicado en las afueras de Kingham usando, era ideal para nosotros para explorar muchos de los hermosos pueblos de los Cotswolds así como Oxford y Stratford en Avon. A pesar de ser muy amables con los perros el hotel es limpio, fresco y elegante en su mayoría y atractivas. El dormitorio doble de tamaño razonable, era cómoda y tenía una ducha y bañera combinada de baño. La mayoría de noches cenamos en el hotel y tuvimos la opción de usar el bar o comedor. La comida era deliciosa, con una buena selección (incluyendo platos vegetarianos) en un menú que cambia diariamente. Los desayunos también proporcionan variedad y estaban muy bien cocinados. Los jardines son idílicos. Al lado del hotel en sí es un patio con asientos y al lado exótico bajo sunbrellas cestas colgantes de flores. Esto es seguido por céspedes bien cuidados que entre manera insensible hacia campos extensos, así los perros (y los niños) pueden disfrutar mientras que otros miembros de la familia de cerca de ver. Wi-Fi en todo el edificio extenso era de primera clase y gratis. El personal era alegre y atento estar bien supervisados por el propietario/gerente que aparentemente ha movido este hotel en los últimos años a su actual alto estándar. Tomando una bebida mientras toma el sol en estos hermosos alrededores epítome de unas fantásticas vacaciones en inglés. Tenemos muchas ganas de volver.

La comida había grandes cantidades de sal en la sopa y el plato principal. Nos quedamos muy educados, pero la comida era incomible por desgracia, aunque las camareras eran muy educados. Sin embargo, el titular era simplemente grosero y me dijo que estaba muy enojado que teníamos señalamos a ella a pesar de la chef de acuerdo.

La comida era tan salada que era incomible y cuando mencionamos a la casera era extremadamente grosero. No había disculpa y ella nos dijo que estaba muy enojado que nos quejamos de la comida. Nunca recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera y nunca me han tratado tan mal en un restaurante antes.

Over charged for three drinks we never had . Soup dreadful I'm afraid it had no discernible taste just hot water should never have been sent without tasting . Barman a little abrasive , made to feel uncomfortable when simply wanted full salt and pepper mills we can assure you we were not telling lies they were empty please just replace them without fuss instead of making the customer feel uncomfortable by demonstrating each one in front of us worked when it WAS EMPTY believe us ! We tried !

We visited mill house whilst on holiday and although we enjoyed its setting ( beautiful spot excellent planting in grounds ) we tried to ignore the niggles but there were to many so I wish to leave our feedback .

Absolutely amazing meal!! Sooo flavour full!! I had steak pie was amazing the pastry was so fluffy and the steak to die for!! Everyone enjoyed their meal all had something different and everyone enjoyed Would definitely go again!! Lovely!!

We were staying here so we had one evening meal here. Food was very good, there were fourteen of us so we all chose different things. We all said how good it was couldn't fault anything.

Entorno encantador; una comida. Fuimos con unos amigos para comer en sábado, nuestra segunda visita al molino. Dos de nosotros tuvimos el juego y Ale tarta; nunca se sabe qué esperar cuando pides una tarta y se decepcionará - no en el molino. El pastel estaba muy bien encajada en repostería y cuando cortan, fue relleno con carne y salsa - absolutamente delicioso. La única razón por la que no pongo 5 estrellas es que tuvimos que esperar para los platos de verduras - el lado personal se disculpó pero todo debería haber sido listo y entregado en el mismo tiempo, así que podíamos ir y disfrutar de nuestras comidas. El Sticky Toffee Pudding era del tamaño justo (es decir, no enorme!) y fue presentada con una jarra pequeña del jarabe toffee y otra de crema - delicioso!

We were staying at Bluewood Lodges and decided to have an evening meal here in the bar area and were not disappointed. The staff were very attentive and the waiting area was comfortable and relaxing.My Husband and Mum had the steak pie and said it was the best that they had tasted and I had the devilled lambs kidneys and mushrooms as a mains dish , delicious.Dessert was chocolate brownie and ice cream for myself and hubby but Mum didn't want anything but the nice young gentleman brought her 4 small cakes so she wouldn't be left out.Excellent service, value for money and very pleasant and relaxing surroundings. We enjoyed it so much that we intend to book to stay there next Summer instead of going abroad.

Después de leer algunas críticas bastante negativas que sentí que debía poner las cosas en orden. Mi marido y yo hemos estado visitando el molino casa durante 14 años y el nuevo propietario simplemente se pone mejor y mejor. Pablo y María han invertido en el hotel y los jardines que lo convierte en un lugar encantador para una estancia de Cotswold. La comida es excelente, tanto en el desayuno y la cena de una calidad muy alta. Aconsejaría a cualquiera que esté pensando en visitar a probarlo y descubrir por tí mismo. Hemos probado otros hoteles, pero este es, de lejos, una de nuestras favoritas.

Beautiful bar area, friendly professional bar staff. Food was gorgeous, well presented. Had lunch with friends who I haven't seen for 20 years so lunch took 3hrs!! We were not rushed and Will be returning.

4 friends sharing lunch mid week. Good food and plenty of choice. We felt welcomed and well attended throughout the meal.

Fuimos para una celebración de cumpleaños y me decepcionó un poco con la comida no es realmente una buena relación calidad-precio y habría sido agradable si hubiéramos estado sirve vegetales con el plato principal del menú. No soy vegetariano pero estoy acostumbrado a eso, pero muy decepcionado con la tabla de quesos como el postre menú no era muy emocionante, me he visto más queso en una trampa para ratones

A very pleasant overnight stay. We did not eat here as we were eating elsewhere in Kingham, but the bar was excellent and the breakfast was delicious.

Somos una familia local y nos hemos llevado un montón de encargo aquí. Había reservado para mi cumpleaños especial madres meses de antelación y habían llamado 3 o 4 veces para asegurarse de que todo estaba bien. Llegamos a la hora reservada nada organizado ya que había pedido 4 tés a la crema de champagne. Tuve que volver a pedido y confirmar uno de los tés era sin gluten. Había reservado en el bar, pero nos pusieron en un pasillo oscuro lo llaman el salón! La camarera llegaron a la mesa cuestionamientos frente a mis clientes sobre el coste de la champaña y no evitará muttering sobre el costo mientras que vertía el champán seguramente nos pueden pedir lo que queremos? Los pasteles sandwich llegamos nos dijeron que plato estaban sin gluten. que compartí con mi invitado sin gluten. Nunca tuvimos té incluso después de preguntar varias veces. El Molino es una postal de un hotel Cotswold.personal muy amable, la comida es estupenda, limpio y tiene un precio razonable. Tuvimos algunos problemas con nuestra estancia (calefacción de la habitación no funcionaba) que fue reparada trasladarnos a otra habitación, pero la ducha era pobre.

No puedo imaginar qué se hizo mal para el cliente anterior que clasificó esta "terrible". Esta fue nuestra segunda Año Nuevo (6 de nosotros) y de nuevo no podemos decir lo suficiente. La comida es fenomenal y el personal es excelente y infaliblemente agradable y servicial.

Tenemos casi al final de nuestra estancia y Año Nuevo que estará triste para ir, pero así como una dieta seria es necesario! Gracias a Pablo y María por un tiempo encantador y como antes todo su personal es simplemente fantástico. La comida es increíble y en conjunto una delicia.Nuestra habitación estaba en una parte diferente esta vez y tuvimos una vista encantadora. nuestra única crítica sería que los radiadores estaban muy ruidoso y la ducha no es genial, pero sin duda no nos impidió volver. Este acogedor y relajante hotel es, sin duda, recomendable.

Fácil de llegar en coche pasando este escondido lugar y, de hecho, me he - muchas veces. Sólo recomendación local me llevó a probarlo y no me decepcionó. Habíamos reservado una mesa y cuando llegamos no teníamos prisa para comer enseguida, y nos invitaron a una copa en el bar primero, cuando estábamos listos estábamos después nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, esto era velas y muy romántico. camareros eran todos muy amables y serviciales. Recomiendo encarecidamente aquí para una comida romántica ocasión especial. Los precios son un poco altos sin embargo vale la pena cada centavo! No podemos esperar a volver.

Visitamos en un cálido día precioso, pudimos disfrutar del hermoso entorno, encantadores jardines con el río.

We found the Mill by chance and had a late cup of tea with scones and cake. The food and service were good and the terrace overlooking the river is delightful. Unfortunately the experience was marred by hordes of wasps,who descended on the jam making it impossible to stay very long. We eventually gave up and left them to it!

La recepción de nuestra boda se celebró aquí hace 50 años, y en todo ese tiempo normas no han bajado.nos llame en familia especial eventos.es crecido , sobre como nuestra familia! My wife and I joined our son and his two young daughters for lunch on a sunny day which meant we could sit outside and the children could run around on the lawns which run down to the old mill stream which is safe with proper parental supervision and ensures they do not annoy other diners.

A lovely evening spent with friends at a charity " Proms " in the grounds of the Mill at Kingham ,for the Meningitis Trust, a lot of money raised, also the food served with panache by the ever attentive staff on a coolish summer evening. Well supported by Hundreds of people !

Reservamos un fin de semana largo aquí con otra pareja para explorar los Cotswolds. El hotel está ubicado en los jardines y el personal muy acogedor. Nuestras habitaciones estaban bien equipadas en la primera planta y muy tranquila, con unas vistas preciosas de los jardines y el río. El restaurante sirve comida deliciosa y es por lo tanto muy popular no sólo con los clientes sino también con los lugareños, así que es aconsejable reservar una mesa. Nos pareció una ubicación muy conveniente para ir por ahí y luego regresar a lejos del bullicio de las ciudades principales de los Cotswolds.

Conocimos a unos amigos para comer aquí el domingo. Solemos ir a el arado en Kingham, pero decidimos probar el Mill. Los jardines y los edificios eran preciosas, no ayuda con el tiempo siendo agradable. Había un montón de avispas alrededor, así que afortunadamente tuvimos una mesa dentro de comer.

Estaba muy ocupado el día que fuimos a almorzar allí sólo para nosotros dos. Nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos nos encontró un lugar para sentarse y ver las muchas mesas puesto que pensamos que sería en para esperar así que es muy sorprendidos después complicó su menú y pedir algo no está en el menú tenía muy rápidamente. La comida era muy buena, aunque el menú de postres nos pareció un poco aburrido y no había nada para tentar nosotros puede ser después sus fichas maravillosas que era una buena cosa.

Popped in here to sample the live music. Found a great place for entertainment and atmosphere. Would definitely come back to this great venue with so much charm, well done.

This restaurant was recommended by local friends and we've not been disappointed. Good food, good presentation. Only downside: the creme brulee lacks flavour. All in all, we had a very good evening.

Came for a family birthday meal on 26th May and all five of us found the menu unimaginative and dull to the point where all of us couldn't get excited about anything on the menu. Added to this I pacifically asked for a certain table as my mother is disabled (and this is not the first time this has happened) and we were put somewhere entirely different without a phone call in advance. Despite all this the staff serving were excellent and couldn't do enough and the location is lovely but I wonder whether there is a new chef as the food was nothing special for the money paid. If you want to eat here, I suggest you eat at lunchtimes as the setting is second to none.

18 of us went to the Mill at Kingham , Oxfordshire, you really must not miss this Gem whilst visiting this part of the Cotswolds . The meals are always served in a very professional way with attentive staff looked over and supervised by Maria the owner and bar staff by her husband Paul, they run a pretty good establishment. As I say 18 of us sat to eat on a very sunny lunch time 27th May, the food as usual was excellent as was the service ,various dishes were ordered and everyone had nothing but praise for the service and presentation , a very memorable occasion , we will be eating here again in the future ,of that there is no doubt.

We visited The Mill for Sunday lunch with high expectations are recommendations from friends and were certainly not disappointed. The setting in the restaurant was comfortable and pleasant, the menu choice good and the service excellent, despite a large party of 20 nearby. Good value for money in an village with overpriced rivals.

A lovely family run pub and hotel. The owners clearly make every possible effort to welcome locals and visitors alike.Really well cooked food and clearly trying to be value for money in a region stuffed full of the Chipping Norton Set.(If you want lowest value best to go for a quick pint at the Legion found near by!) Lovely setting Well worth a visit here than anywhere else in the village serving food!

Went here for afternoon tea on Monday in the sunshine. It was fabulous and a superb setting so came back for dinner last night. Great food and service at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be going regularly. Well run and the willows over the river are also great.

Always good service and good food at this hotel. We were with a local walking group and do this annually.

We visited as a family with a small baby. We arrived mid-morning and started with coffee, which was very good and served in a comfortable relaxed setting. We had 90 minutes to wait for lunch but were made to feel welcome and were not hassled as we opened birthday presents.Lunch was excellent, and despite there being a party of 67 in, we still had prompt and very friendly service. I had Scotch egg followed by beef and veg pie. Both were freshly prepared and delicious and our other dishes were just as good.The baby's needs were met without hesitation - hot water to warm a bottle and use of a bedroom for changing a nappy.This was a most enjoyable experience and one that I would happily repeat. Highly recommended!

Fab family run hotel / restaurant - 2 course Christmas lunch at £12 couldn't possibly be bettered - beautifully cooked and presented - top notch and a great deal better than other local attractions with little heart and a big marketing budget.

Around 20 of us went for our "Christmas Lunch " at the Mill in Kingham and had a really lovely meal together, the waiting staff were helped out by the Manager as there were two tables of 20 plus in the Restaurant ,so they were fairly busy, but no person had to wait too long for their meal, all of the plates were returned to the kitchen without any waste , we had various dishes and all were well prepared to a high standard, the sprouts were a little " al dente " but not too much of a problem, all in all well done Maria and staff for a warm welcome and a very enjoyable meal.

A beautiful Cotswold hotel set in amazing grounds. The owners and staff alike are very hard working and most affable.A wonderful place to relax and unwind !

We popped into the Mill for a spot of lunch prior to checking in to Bluewood Lodges near by. Minimal menu in the afternoon but still very delicious and well made. Good value for money.It was disappointing that they don't serve a Sunday Roast past 3pm.

I took my friend to this lovely place for lunch. she is new to the Cotswolds, so I wanted to impress her. I had never been, but it was recommended to me, especially as their is a special offer at lunchtimes for a daily 'specials'. We had two courses for £12 and the food was excellent with a good choice. The service was very friendly and efficient and the place is situated in lovely countryside with a very enticing garden.

Went on Friday evening - a short walk from bluebell lodges. Best to book because a very friendly and busy place. Good choice of beer and the music by the two young lads was excellent. Food was great - I had cod cheeks which were substantial followed by tender chicken. All in all a good evening

As we are local we have been to The Mill several times and have never been disappointed. The service and food has always been excellent. What I like about the service is that it is attentive without being intrusive. In the summer you have the lovely patio and garden, in winter there is a cosy area to have your after dinner coffee or afternoon tea. I personally prefer the bar because you sometimes get big family parties in the restaurant but our friends seem to prefer the restaurant. There are some lovely walks nearby and as dogs are welcome in certain areas of The Mill we have combined a walk with a meal. We have also taken our family there to celebrate a milestone anniversary. Going to The Mill is a truly enjoyable experience and that is what I want from a meal out.

We went here as a party of four and had a most enjoyable meal in the bar restaurant. It was a little crowded but then it was a Friday evening and we had booked. Service was helpful and friendly. I had some beautifully cooked fish and others enjoyed their well prepared meals. Cost with drink about £35 a head which seemed very reasonable considering the quality if the meal. Would recommend it.

To celebrate one of our Daughters Birthday's we booked a table at The Mill, we were greeted by the owner and shown to our table in their nicely laid out and decorated dining room, our orders were taken and as the Restaurant gradually filled up with other diners, were attended to quite quickly and the meal ( we all had different dishes) was served in a professional manner by the staff and owner ( nice touch ) . It was good to look around the dining room to see how attentive the staff were to what was the state of play at each table, without being too intrusive, the meal was delicious ,well cooked and served hot, excellent !

My wife and I arrived at The Mill on 6th August at lunchtime. We had not booked and unfortunately all the tables in the large bar were reserved. We were offered the main restaurant, or outside. Whilst we were outside with our drinks, making our decision, Maria whom we had first spoken to came out and told us that she had set up an extra table in the bar, so we could eat where we first wanted to.This was first class service and certainly made the point that the customers' needs at the Mill were paramount. Whilst at lunchtime there is a very good and excellent value set lunch, we elected to choose from the full lunch menu. It was excellent - good quality, well presented and served. My pork belly was particularly good. The staff were professional, attentive and certainly knew the menu.The location is very pretty, with a small river running through the grounds, and lots of grass for families. The outdoor seating areas are also extensive.A great experience and one where we felt that all the staff were actually interested in us as customers.
