The Merchant Steakhouse in Glasgow City

A lovely restaurant, excellent food excellent and friendly service, we all ordered the sirloin steak which was delicious, although I ordered mine rare but received medium rare, it was still tasty so I did not complain, though next time I may order extra rare. The house red wine was absolutely delicious too. As were our starters I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly and my friends enjoyed theirs too. We also had deserts again absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this place, only other small criticism would be the volume of the music being a little loud for easy conversation.

I booked here in advance on my weekend to Glasgow my table was booked for 6 45 we were shown to our seats but had to be moved due to the very dim lighting. We were given a bottle of water 30 minutes later we had to go and ask if anyone was going to take our order the manager did apologize and said he would sort things straight away we finally got our meal at 8 15 my husbands steak was full of fat and definitely not well done as that was what he ordered mine was just ok no body asked if we wanted any side so steak was all we got we ask for the bill and said we weren’t happy with the service or the food again the manager apologized and said he would appreciate our feedback which we gave honestly without being rude he offered nothing in return with this being a new restaurant I would have expected the staff to at least try to please the customer unfortunately nothing of the sort happened and we left feeling very disappointed and definitely won’t be going again
