Nice pub but parking is a problem

Had a great time at the maypole watching the England vs Denmark match. Had a table double booked but was resolved straight away and had a better table then what I expected, will visit again either during the euros or for a quiet drink on a Sunday, service was top notch, landlord and landlady had great chat too, nothing but 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ !

Me and my partner went to meet our friends. And was told you have to bye a drink and we said we just come to pick our friends up so we ordered a coffee. As we were driving.the manager Tony Attenborough went on to say you better order another drink or get out. He was drinking at the bar so many wines. And went on to say we’ll get out your bared. The last time we ordered a coffee the cup was covered in blood all around the rim off the cup what an experience disgusting attitude he was drinking about 8 white wines and driving. Be very careful eating and drinking from this pub I will report him to the council I will not let this go

Roast dinner was amazing. Rarely leave reviews but I must say the roast dinner was home cooked, we left empty plates (& the portions are very generous) friendly staff and quick service. Would recommend for a Sunday meal

Pubs ok, but grimey, service was happy and helpful, however glass of whisky riddled with small flies. It was replaced, but it's a bit of a wow from a pub and probably leans to that grimey stance

The landlord of this pub is the most rudest man you could ever meet. He treats people with such disrespect and bad language. I briefly for 2mins used his car park to deliver a parcel to his neighbour because I didn't want to block the road for other drivers and the language he used against me and the way he treated me was disgusting. I would like to assure customers there are many other pubs close by who can service you and treat their fellow people as humans beings who are trying to make a living with respect and courtesy. PS just for everyone's attention I was there for no more than 3 mins and the pub was not even open at that time. (Reply back as I can't find a place to reply) I am not telling a fib and would appreciate not being called a liar. It is possible the person who spoke this way is an employee of yours as he was opening up your store. He was a short big guy who parked inside with a women which is why I said I assumed he was a landlord. It means he's your employee. Secondly I don't run this route every day and so you didn't speak to me. This is only my second time doing this route and first time I briefly parked there. Just to be clear even after your employee spoke rudely to me I apologised again to him twice if my parking upset him and he continued to swear aggressively at me. That is why I wrote this review as no person has ever spoken to me like this before.

Called up around 12pm Sunday 29th for a table that day at 2pm for 7 people Spoke with a lovely lady called Lisa who accommodated us. Arrived for lunch., greeted by Lisa who was lovely. Roast is fantastic. Will be back

We have just had an amazing Sunday Roast. Lots of beef, crispy roast potatoes and fresh veg, very filling. We were recommended and will definately come back.

Nice community boozer with football and a beer garden in the summer

Had never been to this PH, ever before, but was having a car MOT nearby, so decided to stop off here for a bottle of J20. Relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere inside; pleasant, friendly locals, and good, covered, plentiful, outside seating, with heaters.

In her own words “I’ve been waiting all my life for this moment” On top of being Elvis Number 1 fan my daughter has complex health needs and learning disabilities. The Maypole Pub always makes her feel so welcome. Lovely bar staff, friendly local’s definitely will be back soon.

Wasn't here long as I only called in to watch a covers band that was playing that night. Staff polite and friendly and everything was as one would expect. Will definitely be back if I am in the area.

1st ever visit..halfway home on walk and wanted to watch Rugby League final on my phone. (Soccer on sky inside). Spacious and good value..Sat quietly outside..Great range on beers.. Well done

Great Saturday night with Jump the Gun. Definitely worth another visit

Closed at 10.30 on a Friday night. No last orders called. Music and TV turned off and requested to leave. Poor service.

The best pub in the Surbiton with lovely staff

Just popped in on the off chance alone. Sat outside in a lovely garden area which was really chilled with soft music playing in the background. I felt like I was holiday. Thankyou x

The place is always lively, with football matches being telecast and they often have live music. The staff are super friendly, they allow kids and dogs. During occasions like mother's day, they offer special discounts... Food is served oy on Sundays, the beer is great

We started coming here recently and really like it. Great to have a local pub within walking distance - the garden is a great sun-trap, bar staff are friendly, drinks are reasonably priced. Would recommend!

Atrouches, without a doubt the worst experience I have received from a landlord. The landlord or so called management is an utter discrace to he industry, rude, jumped up, inexperienced, pure lack of any customer service or hospitality experience and a prime example of a megalomaniac. After 18 years experience of working in the pub sector as a GM and Area Manager I can guarantee that he along with his staff are the worst I have ever come across. 1 star is overrated but unable to put 0 Stars.

Amazing friendly pub, love the live bands, staff always very friendly, Sunday roast dinner was amazing as being a vegetarian the chef Micha went above and beyond to cater for me, home made cauliflower cheese and the best home made vegetarian gravy, would definitely recommend.

Easter Sunday: lovely warm day, entertainment for the children, bouncy castle and Easter bunny dressed up to take the children on an Easter egg hunt which was lovely to see the children getting excited and having fun, myself and husband recommended the Sunday lunch, beautiful and lots of vegetables highly recommended by us.

Unfriendly, local lads pub 3 Tv's and football Lots of drunk boys and bad language. Not for the wife and kids. Avoid.

Had a really good afternoon with friends and family great live music and felt like it was back to normal with everyone chatting and dancing Great landlord who knows how to run a pub and none of that covid tracking rubbish . Place was busy and buzzing. Definitely be going there again . 5 stars

Came here to meet some friends and have some food , the food when came was stone cold ! When I asked for no salad and no sauce in my burger it came with both and I’m allergic to Mayo , I sent it back and it looked like it had been scrapped of !! The burger was freezing and so was the chips ! Terrible food wouldn’t recommend!

Visited last year before second lockdown and liked the atmosphere so thought we would pop in this evening despite the chilly weather. Me and my partner had such a lovely time, our server Jade was very smiley, chatty and knowledgeable of the wines and drinks (and put our favourite songs on the dukebox, for free!) My partner said the guinness was perfect. Clean tables and heaters, lovely friendly staff, we will be returning.

I visited the Maypole on Sunday, fabulous improved outdoor area. The staff are friendly and courteous despite being rushed off their feet due to table service.

Drink selection was terrible, Service was slow and staff was extremely rude. I wont get on to how they deal with COVID but its a great place for herd immunity.

Fantastic local.. And missing the place loads during lockdown. Always a warm welcome and the new landlords are fantastic hosts..

We went for a friend's leaving drinks and had a great time. There was plenty of space and a good outdoor area with some cabins in if you need cover. The inside is spacious too with plenty of ordering space at the bar. The prices are not too bad, about what you would expect for the area. We would return again.

Apparently when you ask what wine they have it should be reciprocated with the landlord rolling his eyes in condemnation. OK boozer, polite head barmaid, "interesting" clientele.

First time we had Sunday lunch in here and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, our experience was spoiled by a group of regulars at the bar who were so noisy and loud with shouting and piercing laughter that went right through you that you could not have a conversation. Even the barman and barmaid were joining in with them. I like to see people enjoying themselves but this was ridiculous and I feel that the bar staff should have asked them to tone it down a bit as people were eating. Such a shame as food was good but won't be going back for Sunday lunch.

Under new management. I went to see a band I follow, so not impressed that the beer started running out! Can't really say more as I don't visit regularly, but the barmaids were very jolly and efficient.

If you love loud music this is your place however being a resident here is not fun I live 4 roads away and can still here music blaring past 11pm

Lovely pub.. first time id been in there for years. The place has had massive extensions since i used it over 20 years ago.. but every inch has been used well. Loads of seating, and big screen televisions to watch sport. Horse racing and rugby seem popular . The staff were friendly and the place was very clean. It seemed to be a great locals pub, although i was made very welcome when i arrived. Lovely pub x

What a fantastic local pub. My brother and I have spent the last three nights going into the pub and we have been made to feel so welcome. The locals were lovely and the management team were very friendly.

this is a busy pub where i have played darts as part of a visiting team. it is friendly and has different areas to sit in. there are a number of tvs to watch the latest sports and the guvnor is into rugby. we are allowed to watch soccer as well. there is a well seated garden at the back. i am unable to comment on the food but they used to have a Thai chef but when i asked after him a few weeks back i was told he had left. the bar staff are attentive and friendly, i am glad t recommend this a typical british pub

Popped in here for a drink in a Tuesday evening. Quite a small locals pub with a limited selection of drinks, especially bottled lager. Ambience of pub not helped by singing Irish men at bar. Won't return

The maypole is a great local pub serving fantastic Thai food. Apparently the Thai family here used to work at a pub in north Kingston and people there were gutted that they moved. Their loss was definitely our gain!

Nice and convenient if you are having an mot on your car they serve tea and coffee and soft drinks.

Love this pub, lively, warm and with a smiling service that tells you you're always welcome !
