Unfortunately the cake we ordered for our daughter’s first birthday was very disappointing! It was meant to be a victoria sponge but there was no jam inside. The cake tasted awful and was underbaked in some parts and over-baked in others. The icing work was also quite rough. It’s a shame as the customer service was good and they made an effort to add personal details to the cake. I wouldn’t order from here again and neither would anyone who tasted the cake at my daughter’s party. For £125 you would expect a lot better, especially as one tier out of the two was fake. Never again!

Oreo brownie was very tasty. The service was excellent really enjoyed my experience with them.

Bought a chocolate and raspberry vegan cupcake that was very yummy. Was good to see such variety of gluten free options. The man who served us was very friendly!

I ordered a 10 inch vanilla sponge cake for a colleague’s leaving party. It was delicious. Everyone at the event commented on how nice the cake was. I also buy cupcakes regularly from Glutopia for my dad who is gluten-free and they are always great.

I ordered a cake for my boy’s 3rd birthday. The cake is absolutely gorgeous and taste is also good. We had a great day with the cake. Price is a bit high but it worth!

I had my gluten free wedding cake made from here and it was amazingly done both on design and on how delicious it was. Literally every guest commented on how good the cake was! My sister is celiac and she never tried such a good gluten free cake. Couldnt recommend this place enough!

Red velvet birthday cake: taste wasn't great, very hard and dry. Presentation was just ok but not like the requested design and even the name was misspelled. The welcome from the gentleman at the shop is outstanding, but the quality of the cake was very poor. Make sure you try before you buy is my advice.

We have now been using Glutopia regularly over several years. I think the first time was for my son's 18th Birthday celebrations and he is now 26. We recently ordered a wonderful carrot cake in April this year for my daughter''s 22nd Birthday and my husband ordered Birthday bespoke cup cakes for my Birthday in March, they were all delicious. Glutopia is the only patisserie I know that can make fresh bespoke gluten free cakes with less than 24 hours notice. Their cakes are always very moist and light and we love the fact that all cakes are gluten free as we have one coeliac in the family and yet there is such a wide choice, of cake flavour and decorations. I would highly recommend Glutopia.

We have just received our gender reveal cake from Glutopia today. We couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out! As soon as we came to request the cake and I showed a design idea, we knew the baker understood what we were looking for. I would recommend anyone this bakery for bespoke cake requests and will come back again!

Not worth it. Paid a deposit a £50 deposit 2 months ago, for a bespoke birthday cake, told price would be £125 for a cake for up to 20 children, then price went up to £165 when due to pay. The artistry is nothing like as good as the ones on show in the shop. Didn’t even put the name on the cake itself as requested. Tasteless over-sweet flavour. Altogether just not worth half the price.

A nice cake shop for gluten free! Happy to find it. The taste not what i been expecting but fine. Overpriced for this category of people with celiac disease, unfair. I will be back again at this shop cos there are many options, you just need to chose the right one but not vanilla chocolate anymore.

I placed an order via email with very specific details of what I wanted, including a picture. I got a call and confirmed the picture attached to the email was exactly what I wanted and still I got the wrong design for the cake. The cake tasted good at the very least but it was really disappointing paying £60 for a different designed to what I ordered.

I ordered (in person) a 1st year birthday cake a month ago, gave details of what I wanted and how I wanted the cake including colors and pay c.£100 for a 6 person cake size. When I picked up the cake it was no even close to what I asked for but we did not want to be sad about it so it was ok or that we thought until we try it and realised that it had alcohol in it!?!?! Unfortunately it went to the bin straight away and obviously we will not go back to Glutopia again. I don’t understand why you take details if you are not going to provide what has been requested.

I am extremely regular buying cakes from shop for years , my child who’s is Coeliac and really enjoy home made cake from this place, we thank the owners for this unique cake shop.

not sure this is the same shop? This shop is near the bus stop and opposite the Kingston Civic centre? It has " Glutopia Cake boutique congratulation " in gold. I went in there, to ask about if they put sweeteners in their cakes and about the % of sugar they have in the specific cakes I was interested in. The sales man, (probably the proprietor, a foreigner), was very rude, he said, it is pointless with this kind of discussion, I don't want your money, and I don't want to sell it to you.

Best Red Valvet cake ever 😍😋 for my birthday my sis syprised with this cake. I was already a fan of these bakery cupcakes but the cake was out of this world. Me and the family loved it. And we will return for more. We already pre ordered my sis birthday cake and her birthday is only in October!

The worst cupcakes and cakes in town. Do not go here. The cupcakes and cakes have sponges which are drier than the Sahara desert. The guy can't bake so why has he opened a establishment where he has to bake things?

Fantastic service . Fantastic cakes ! We often visit for brownies or cupcakes for our daughter who has ceoliac disease , and everything is always very tasty . I asked for a cake to be made for our son and daughters birthday party , half and half to reflect their interests . Absolutely fantastic results, the cake looked brilliant and our kids were amazed . To top it off everyone mentioned how yummy the cake was ! So so happy - thank you!!

Very disappointed. On a whim I decided to get two red velvet cupcakes. I asked the guy serving what was on top and he says buttercream, it wasn’t, it was cream. The “red velvet” cake was really just a plain vanilla cupcake with red food colouring. It was packaged poorly too.

Ordered the smallest size cake for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Chocolate with a red covering and small green snail (long story LOL). It took three of us three days to eat. Every day it tasted better.

Extremely disappointing- I asked for a 3 tier red velvet cake and just got white sponge. £275 for a cake which I have a photo of and full specification and the cake just was no where near the design or specifications.

Cake design was ok, but the taste was horrible, completelly destroyed all birthday mood. We asked for 4 layers cake, but received different, the cake was very hard and tastless, nobody ate it. I don’t know how this company still exist.. very poor experience with customer service too. Will never order again and tell to everyone AVOID👎🏻

The cupcakes were absolutely delicious but I didn't get a proper cupcake box so they ended up looking like this by the time I got them home which was a bit disappointing.

Koko made an amazing set of Gluten Free cup cakes plus a top tier for our wedding at the end of August. We went to see him and he had freshly made a selection of what he did so we could try each. We chose the lemon, red velvet and carrot cakes (my wife swears that the carrot cakes tastes just like normal carrot cake). Koko made all 93 cup cakes the morning of the wedding and they were delivered to the venue by 11am all freshly made. He was also able to produce half a dozen vanilla & chocolate vegan & dairy free cup cakes for our guests who couldn't eat the others. Everyone enjoyed the cakes and they looked so detailed and immaculate. Thanks Koko :)

Fantastic service, excellent choices of cakes. Nut free, gluten free, diary free , egg free but looking delicious . As for the cakes we bought the didn't hang around long. Wish that there was a branch nearby but we will be going back to make a bigger purchase soon.

It was my first experience ordering a gluten-free cake, and I was skeptical because of the mixed reviews. But so glad I ordered from here! We got a red velvet giant cupcake, gluten- and dairy-free. It was gorgeous to look at and delicious to eat. I could hardly tell it wasn’t a regular cake! Some of our guests remarked it was too sweet.. I thought it was perfect. But if you want to test the sweetness it might be worth doing a taste-test beforehand. The too-sweet comments were from children at the birthday party. I personally have a high tolerance of sweetness so I can’t be objective about it. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m glad I’ve found this bakery nearby. Communication, delivery, the cake itself, everything was stellar.

Glutopia made my wedding cake on 8th July, and I sincerely couldn’t have been happier with it! Just before the wedding, my doctor put me on an incredibly restrictive diet—which meant no gluten or dairy, among other things—and I was certain I wouldn’t get to have a cake on my wedding day. I was so thrilled to find one that not only I could enjoy—all of my guests enjoyed it, too! The booking process was super easy; something that had been sitting on my to-do list for weeks took a 5-minute phone call to arrange, and it was very inexpensive for a wedding cake, too! The owner was super flexible and informative and offered me a range of options. I got a vegan chocolate cake with vanilla icing. When my Maid of Honor went to pick it up, the baker even did his own decorating and offered to take off a few things without any hassle (he added blueberries—another thing I can’t have but hadn’t mentioned before). All in all, I truly couldn’t recommend them enough. Getting this cake made by them led me to start stopping by to pick up cupcakes and brownies whenever I’m nearby. My husband’s diet isn’t gluten-free, but even he loves it! Would absolutely recommend for anyone who’s GF, vegan, on a medical diet, or who just feels like a nice salted caramel cupcake while wandering through town! I’ve attached a picture of my cake. We added the ducks and the bunting ourselves.

I had been eyeing up the incredible cakes in the shop window since I moved to the area. For my birthday my boyfriend ordered a chocolate cake topped with chocolate covered strawberries and it was delicious. The icing was especially delicious! So for his birthday I knew exactly where I wanted to go. To make it slightly different I ordered a chocolate orange cake and once again it was good. Actually this one was even better! I can't imagine going to any other cake shop in Kingston. So happy with the 2 cakes we have got from here

Absolutely delicious cakes, I ordered a birthday cake for my daughters 16th. It was moist and with rich creamy icing, the perfect balance of flavours.

I ordered a drip cake for my 50th Birthday. I had in mind exactly what I would like and being Gluten intolerant needed to ensure this could be accommodated in a bespoke design. Koko was amazing, honest and took the time to work with me on how the cake could be made and the look. On receiving the cake, delivered safely by a recommended cab company, it was more than I could have expected. Koko and his Team had added additional decorations and fondant that looked stunning! The cake itself was delicious and all 20 people who experienced it commented on how lovely it was. Thank you Glutopia. Highly recommended!!

This is a late review, I bought the cake on New Year's eve, I was cherged £40 for it, I didnt preorder it but when I asked if the cake was fresh, the man lied and said yes. The cake was stale, literally hard cake base, I was very upset about it, I didnt want to rerun the cake because I know these cafes are going through a hard time, but had he said yes its a few days old and maybe offered a small discount, I would have happily bought it. I have always supported this particular bakery, I always like supporting small local businesses, but dishonesty is something that is just bang out of order. He lost a good customer a damaged his reputation and that of his businesses for a few pounds.

cupcakes sometimes hit and miss with flavour and texture but as far as gluten free goes it’s not bad bit on the pricey side

Cake looked really good. Ordered one for a birthday but unfortunately it wasn't great apart from the look. The cake was very sweet and dry, too much for my liking. Icing was thin but even sweeter than cake inside. All in all, unbearable to eat. I am not that impressed as their cupcakes and brownies are delicious. I would expect the cake to keep the same level. I would continue buying cupcakes but for the cakes, there are better places.

Ordered our wedding cake last minute from Koko and team. As a coeliac I felt completely safe knowing there was no cross contamination and the cake tasted beautiful. Koko was so accomodating and the whole process of ordering and getting delivered was seamless. Thank you again!

Was so happy and pleased with the cake i ordered. Koko bent over backwards to help me, he was so helpful and the cake was amazing and so nice and tasted great and the presentation was spot on😋. Would recommend to anyone! Espically to those who have a gluton allergy! Will be coming back!

We have ordered a birthday cake here for the first time. The cake was ok but not amazing. The icing looked nice but tasted too sweet for our liking. Inside, the cake was less sweet but there was nothing special about it. The sponge was a little dry but not as bad as some people described it. We ate it but we would probably never order here again.

Ordered a cake pre-lockdown for my sons birthday. Was promised by Koko in the event of lockdown the cake would be delivered . Lockdown happened, heard nothing until we reached out 3 days before delivery was due and were told they couldn't deliver as the shop was closed and had no access. Asked about repayment and was told they had no access to the shop so couldn't refund. Since lockdown lifted and the shop is open, visited the shop and asked about refund, was directed to email them to ask for the refund. Have emailed 3 times in the last 3 weeks, no response. They took £80 for a cake that was never delivered and now ignoring when we are trying to get it back. Person who took the order and payment (Koko) absolving himself of any responsibility to pay it back

I visit Glutopia about once a week. I have to eat GF for medical reasons and I love that I don't have to worry about asking or checking twice I can just choose ANYTHING. I am also vegan and I must say the vegan cupcakes might be even better that the gluten free ones! I have seen reviews where people complain about the price or say that the treats are dry. This is a dedicated GF facility so it is always going to be more expensive than your bog standard cupcake. And if you have been eating gf or vegan for a while you will know that everything is dry! But glutopia's vegan cupcakes are actually very moist and delicious. Especially if you get there just as they are being iced! SO fresh and moist.

Ordered a very expensive large cake for a big birthday celebration. Had to go back twice to collect as the shop was closed at the time I’d be told to collect. No apology offered regarding this, in fact they were rude. Cake itself was dry and tasteless- huge waste of money and so disappointing when hosting friends to celebrate a special occasion. Do not waste your money!

DO NOT BUY from this shop! My husband paid 30 pound for a horrible cake !!! We ended up throw it in the bin I wish I baked it myself! he wants bless him to surprise me him and my daughter and I feel bad for them That we ended up throwing it in the bin! Such a shame! At least they should have made a bit of effort it looks to me like those one pound cake that you get layer it with buttercream the most awful experience ever. That shop need to close down I just feel I needed to throw it in his face rather putting it in the bin

Our 8 year old daughter asked for an unusual cake design, with a tiger, cow and rabbit on it ... the person who'd made cakes for us in previous years could no longer do so, and Glutopia stepped up with a week's notice. The result was wonderful - see attached photo. Brilliant attention to detail. And I can reassure that the cake itself and the icing was delicious - I couldn't tell it was gluten free and tbh it tasted better than all the other gluten containing cakes we've had over the last year or so. Fully recommended!

The best in the world carrot cake , brownies, red velvet.

Yesterday evening I went to buy 6 brownies. The ones that was showing to the people had strowberrys and rasberrys on the top but there was just 4 in total, so the man said to me " no worries I have more on the back" so he put in boxes 6 brownies and obviusly i didn't check if there was any fruit on the top. This was suppouse to be a dessert for a dinner that i had that night, imagin my surprise when I arrived to my friend house and i opened the box, there wasn't any fruit and the chocolate on the top was very poor. Nothing similar with what the man on the bakery showed me gonna be. I will never come back there. I payed £24.00 for nothing. They were not even tastefull. Dissappointing. Shameless

I've been coming her for years and it has always been excellent in every way. The cakes are original, tasty and reliable. The coffee is as it should be. And the welcome is friendly and well-judged - the owner has the perfect grasp of when to chat and when to leave people alone. If you're in Kingston and going somewhere else than you are in the wrong place. Glutopia is the one.

Disappointed. Paid £65 for my daughter’s birthday cake and it was not good. I have eaten a lot of chocolate cake over the decades and I cannot remember the last time I could not finish a slice. Except for today. I have never eaten cake with an unpleasant aftertaste. Even one of the children at the party commented on the dry sponge. Would have been cheaper to buy two cakes from M&S, and they would have tasted better.

My wife and I were out on a cold November evening, and we happened to pass by this place. We were intrigued and popped in to enquire further. We were so impressed by the array of cake designs, that we took a long time deciding which ones to try - the member of staff was very patient with us. We took them home for dessert and were really pleased with the rich taste and texture. Rumours have it the owner makes good salads too, but don't tell him I told you that.

Got a gluten free vegan cake for my mums birthday and due to the high price it was intended to be a gift also. The cake is not the design he told me, looks completely different and much worse. It looks like it has been made by a child. The writing on the cake is appalling. There was missing ingredients. Not impressed whatsoever. I’m sure it will taste okay but if you shop here, do not expect it to be what you ordered or of a good quality.

Gluten & Dairy free baking done with a smile. Brought a rather lavish chocolate cake, was ready in a couple hours and ready to take away.

An amazing array of gluten free cupcakes and brownies that make your mouth water just looking at them. The staff are friendly and I wish I could have spent more time there. There was a tray of vegan cakes also and the staff are knowledgeable about allergies etc. Not the cheapest but ultimately it’s gluten free and high quality and taste so I’d expect that.

Koko prepared a lovely cake for my husband's 40th birthday. I had special requests, a mountain and a cyclist on a mountain bike along with a barrel with a radiation trefoil on it. He got it all just right and Dom and all our friends loved it! Needless to mention the taste, zesty orange and lemon superb sponge!!! Thank you Koko

We had 4 cupcakes. All supposed to be different but all tasted the same. Sponge was particularly dry, stale and powdery. I'm not actually GF but I know that you can get much better than this (Lola's).

I paid 40 for a simple small birthday for my daughter's 1st birthday. When I picked it up I say that they didn't even bother writing her name on the cake and they wrote it on the cake board. But I thought the actual cake must be very nice as they are a birthday cake shop. Only til we cut the cake to realise they use a cheap mix and a layer of buttercream which was horrible, tasteless and dry. They whole thing did not cost them more than £3 to make. I wish I went to Valerie's or baked it myself. The owner talks a lot to distract you from the bad quality of his cakes.

I bought a cake for my husband's 50th birthday. The cake was too dry, too strong sugar taste, greasy and no taste fresh at all. Not value for money!!! I regret spent such that money. I do not recommend anyone to buy for birthday cake there.

I came here for my birthday and had a vegan vanilla cupcake. It was one of the best cupcakes I've had. Light fluffy and delicious. The coffee was good too. The customer service was friendly and helpful, offering us samples of cake to try.

Very disappointed, I was expecting a nice high gluten brownie, but found everything to be gluten free and slightly powdery, in that highly unpleasant gluten free way, the name Glutopia suggests a gluten paradise, whereas this is a hellish gluten free dystopia. The coffee was ok though.

Bought 4 cupcakes for almost £13 so not cheap and they are super dry. Clearly old cakes which shouldn’t be a surprise as there are never any customers in there. I hope this place closes down as it has a prime location and deserves to be occupied by someone who will actually positively contribute value and quality to the community.
