Lovely welcoming. Open and clean. Comfy chairs. Food presented very well. I really enjoyed the pancakes. Sadly the sausages were not nice. Coffee very good. Cans and juice available. Hash browns very nice. Not all the food is quite fresh but majority is very good. Staff are pleasant and happy to help. Nothing was to much trouble. Served at the table. Has outside seating. We will visit again

Went in for lunch and ordered the Moulin Burrito, was genuinely one of the best meals i've had in a while and the staff were nothing but kind and efficient. Will always recommend

Food was acceptable, and there is a decently wide menu choice, but it felt cheap when it was served in a plastic basket and a member of staff insisted on smoking right outside the doorway with it wafting back inside the restaurant and all over those sat at the outside tables.

Friendly and polite staff, clean, nice atmosphere. The breakfast was good value for money but a little cold, could be warmer.

Like being in Lebanon, but with more chips. Spacious, comfortable, full of flavour and personality. The owner has run a restaurant in the UK for 40 years and no one has ever asked him to make the delicious Fatteh.

Avoid at all costs!!! ordered fish and chips the fish came out burnt and not edible, I then went for scrambled eggs on toast which looked and tasted like it had been there for days no butter on the toast when I asked why? they said they don’t put butter on there toast. The whole cafe smelt of burnt oil guessing they need to upgrade their appliances hygiene appalling!!! left there smelling of out of date burnt oil. Cafe should be closed down!!

Ordered a vegetarian breakfast and got given a vegetarian with bacon in it! I'm a Muslim and don't eat pork so, this is very disappointing and not good enough. Will not be ordering again. The worst thing is they even offer a halal breakfast so, clearly they do not do their due diligence. Disgusting that l cant even contact them via email and you can't even call the restaurant, the telephone number doesn't connect!

Over priced and food is extremely basic. No flavour and no sauce in the wraps, it’s like eating saw dust literally

So I bought some food next door and wanted to sit inside moulin Rouge with there drinks and tea maybe a cake too so I was a paying customer from them. But they refused my entry and wouldn't allow me in at all. Poor service and rude experience from the owner not the staff. When a poor owner runs a shop like this to any customer it reflects badly on how they actually run there shop. Avoid!

When Vince and David were looking after this shop (owners sons) it was an amazing place, however since their father has taken over it has become trash. The great customer service has turned into unwelcoming service, the fresh amazing food has turned into old rubbery food. Very sad to see such an amazing place get ruined so badly.

Tuna melt was a soggy mess with the bread falling apart,the eggs from the benidict weren't cooked properly and placed along side very cheap ham and to top it off the chips were very clearly from Macdonald's

Really disappointed in the quality of the food. Some of the food was hot and some cold on the same plate as if heated in microwave. Tasted processed. Coffee served cold. Chewing gum stuck to tables. Bad hygiene. Will not go back there!

Ordered a vegan burrito came with egg and am guessing not vegan cheese, low hygiene score - would never eat there again.

Fallen behind times. The cafes poor hygiene (bin lid placed on the counter on top of the menus) and bad staff standards (floor staff wearing sandals) was pretty much sums up the 1 star. The food was nothing special which is expected of a cafe. However the orders are always sketchy if it's not a slightly pink sausage it's the waiter getting the order wrong. 1 year ago this place was the local favourite sadly it's just one of the many poor cafes in this street.

Best café in Kingston, the garlic chicken wrap is to die for and the only place to get an iced coffee the way you like it.

Great to return to seating inside & outside at the Moulin after lockdown & only takeaway. They've had a major refurb & it looks great, bright & airy, new counter, newly tiled & fitted out toilets, a huge improvement.

I popped into this cafe I'd not been to before for brunch and ordered egg, mushrooms, chips and coffee. The coffee was fine but the food sans mushrooms, slightly undercooked eggs and disgusting chips that formed themselves into a blob of lard! I've been to all the cafes along this stretch and this was certainly the worst, although ironically the coffee was better than most. I'll never go here again though.

The food was good, I had the chicken escalope which was huge. The flavours were nice and my partner had a sausage and bacon baguette which he said was okay. The sausage was okay but the bacon was very fatty - thick white strips. Which I know some people like so it’s a personal preference. We had never been here before but not sure we would come back due to the staff despite the food being good.The staff asked us if we had been before and we said no and showed us to a table. Within seconds and of sitting down the same man came over and asked us for our order. After politely telling him we haven’t even seen the menu he left he alone for all of 30 seconds before coming back. This was four times this occurred so I just picked the first thing I saw. It turned out to be nice but I was very uncomfortable. He even stood at the table behind us and watched us take our first bites of food to see if we approved... They seem to eager and don’t know a lot about personal space. But like I said the food is decent just maybe read a menu before you go as they need to know the second you walk in what you will be eating. I want to add that it wasn’t busy either which wasn’t why they wanted us to be seated quickly and get our order.

Sunday breakfast pre-shopping, average cheap breakfast with poor quality sausages. It didn’t look like the toilet had seen a clean for weeks

Always a decent Panni in this place. Yummy and fresh every time. The coffee leaves a lot to be desired, hence the rating. If it wasn't for the rubbish coffee it would easily be a 4 star. Beans were not fresh and coffee was bitter. If you just want a snack definitely a good shout.

Early Saturday afternoon 5th October and we visited here for lunch.We were met at the door and shown to a table and given the menus. We ordered 2 flat white coffees and an egg mayonnaise and bacon baguette and an avocado and houmous baguette.The freshly baked and generously filled baguettes were very tasty and the coffees were good. We paid £12 for the lot, which was very reasonable along with friendly staff.

When I went to the Moulin rouge cafe it was already busy people setting outside has well has inside the Staff stand outside holding up the menus trying to tempt customs to set down and have some lunch at reasonable prices I would recommend anyone who is visiting Kingston Upon Thames for the first to take a look and maybe have some lunch I give this place 255 stars for excellent first class service

We were just looking at the menus and boards outside of the cafes down this road and stopped outside of Moulin Rouge to have a look. Instantly had 2 men come over fairly intimidating, shove menus in our hands and practically force us in to seats. We thought that was a bit odd and off putting but were willing to try it out anyway. The tea and coffee we ordered came out luke-warm, the cooked breakfasts we had were abysmal, overcooked in some areas and woefully undercooked in others... incredibly dirty restaurant, horrible atmosphere and the waiters kept looking at us all like we were dirt. I would definitely not recommend this place. Oh and there are no signs about it, but they only take cash...

Came into this place because we were starving and the menu looked okay. The menus were sticky which was a little concerning but I continued to order an orange juice and the steak and chips whilst my friend ordered a jacket potato with beans. Granted the orange juice was lovely and obviously freshly squeezed but was warm. The service on the food was slow (coming from someone who works in a cafe) and when the steak came out it was so over cooked I could barely eat it. My friend got such a small amount of beans that she said had absolutely no taste. I didn’t want to complain as I already felt uncomfortable but was annoyed at the prospect of having to even pay for the food that I had not enjoyed in the slightest, I left feeling so unsatisfied and we went elsewhere for a second meal. Might be worth trying out but just be careful what you order.

Oily chips, the croque Monsieur only had a small slice of ham you could hardly taste. Disappointing food quality

The wrap was good, very large portion, coffee good and hot, but the service and generally the staff did not make you feel that you wish to visit again.

Quick service, unobstrusive, really pleasant setting and the food was excellent value for money. Will go again.

This is a busy cafe in Kingston - not far to walk from the station and surrounded by many other cafes. I don’t usually eat here, but do a takeaway for my son as he likes their panini melts. However, last time we sat inside with the family, & I have to say, I didn’t find the staff friendly and didn’t enjoy my cappuccino which was cold. Anyhow - I would still be happy to do a takeaway panini for my son! 4 stars for my son’s panini melt!! 😊

A good old fashioned cafe selling good quality food at a reasonable price, will definitely go back.

The full monty. Real fast was over priced, had cheap tasteless sausage, the staff were unwilling to swap any items and I was charged £1 for a single hash brown - the menu says hash browns - when mentioned they said they would charge me for another. I declined. My wife’s baked potato was again average at best. The waiters came across as intimidatingall in all a very disappointing, tasteless overpriced meal. We won’t be coming back. A shame.

Great cafe, so much choice and staff are really friendly. Pancakes and waffles were really light and fluffy, must have been made fresh. There's a Starbucks & a Pret within 10m, their customers are missing out & should try the locally owned places, this is much nicer.

Good Lunch pit stop. They do an interesting take on the Chicken Caesar salad, with meaty garlic chicken breasts and a cucumber salad. Also recommended is the filled croissant with ham, mushroom and cheese. Accompanied by two teas the meal came to £10.50

Moulin Rouge in Kingston upon Thames was without a doubt ine of the best sandwich/cafe you could get. The place was always packed with people lining outside for hours. I haven't been back for sometime now but have to say that the food is still OK but the service and the friendly welcome has disappeared. It's a shame as the man behind the orginal cafe was great and he made the place people wanted to come back to. Not sure if I would go back again.....

My daughter & I had breakfast & it was lovely. My vegetarian option was tasty & my daughter enjoyed her panini & hot chocolate. Great service with friendly attentive staff & prices aren't bad neither... Thanks

Great family cafe/restaurant. The food is low-priced and medium-quality. The meals are typical british variety and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Went here for breakfast service was quick and friendly, £4.95 for breakfast including tea or coffee. Food came quite quick and was a good size. Tea and coffee were good. Would go back.

Family run cafe friendly good food and not expensive

The food and service is good. On a nice day you can sit outside and "watch the world go by" which is pleasant. The coffee is poor unless you ask specifically for a good one - unless you are just fond of "milky drinks" when it is probably OK!

This is a great place for a drink and nice Mediterranean / french light meals service very friendly and attentive.

Went here for breakfast ordered to full English my wife ordered her eggs hard poached as she and so many other people I’m sure don’t like runny yolk. So we made sure the waitress understood hard poached eggs before she left so there was no confusion when the breakfast turned up guess what runny eggs we sent them back and the waitress apologised no big deal she understood and knew what we ordered they returned a second time runny again and by this point my wife’s breakfast was cold so she just began eating it and we sent the eggs back again and I just checked again with the waitress she understood our request and she assured me she did and she told the chef this but he was not listening to her so we continued eating and told the waitress not to bother with the eggs anymore as we were nearly finished at this time and guess what another two eggs turned up as we were leaving and to our surprise they were runny now I’m no expert but is it really that difficult to poach eggs hard? This place seems to think so. Which brings me to payment I requested they take the price of the eggs of the breakfast as we didn’t receive eggs and was told it was a set menu that’s the price and I explained to him really you should be taking the whole breakfast off as it was your fault and we ended up being left with no eggs and a stone motherless cold breakfast to eat and I was laughed at. He later took 40p off and made us feel like it was our fault they don’t understand basic requests of customers and if you complain your the idiot. Won’t be going back not because of the breakfast and the egg mishap but purely because of the customer service from what it looked like the manager/owner

I feel the food is good and they do a great coffee all at a reasonable price. The reason I gave it 3 stars is every time I have been in there the staff are a little cavalier to the point of almost being rude.
