The Master Chippy in Fareham

Amazing Chinese cut chunky chips & of good portions freshly cooked.. Also ordered 2 Curry rolls & only came to 8.90 all in so reasonably priced.. They sell all the usual Chip shop fav + a full Chinese menu..

So, I order some sausages and chips via web, to be delivered. Got a call to say, they couldnt deliver, 'I come collect'. I thought, well, its a warm, early summer evening, so okay. I get there and was asked for money. I asked whether the amount being requested included the delivery? She went back to the till, with a fairly flimsy attempt at pretending it was a mistake and gave me a new bill. The new bill come to few pence more than I have, without breaking another bill. Ive walked down, been mischarged, so say something like, 'could you take a 30 p less and put a few less chips in the bag, to save me breaking a note'. She said, quite rudely, 'I already minus £2 off!!!' I noted that £2 was for delivery and as I was in their shop, would be an unreasonable charge. I realised they intended to be confrontation, so broke the note to pay the 30 p. Then they did that thing, trashing me to each other in a different language. I think the a wise business embraces, and employs those who embrace, the customers as an integral part of the business. Businesses that view customers as combatants will generally fail.

Visited evening of Friday 24th January and found chippy closed, despite opening hours on door showing 430pm to 10.30 pm. Very disappointing and inconvenient,

High price for poor poor quality. Rude arrogant staff, simply after money. Serving up food that has simply sat around for hours is not acceptable. Reported. Avoid

Collected fish and chips from here to take down to the water one evening. It was lovely, freshly cooked fish and chips and both tasted lovely! Very nice would recommend!

The business has a billboard promotion... The customer floor was sticky underfoot. Order of large Cod & Chips. The Cod was frankly terrible, suspected fried from frozen?. Greasy and the worst I've ever had the misfortune to taste. The chips were of the same quality. I reluctantly put both in the bin outside. In my opinion avoid at all costs. The cost of the provided sustanance is high also. Avoid!!!

Below par food not worth the money. Staff aren't very sociable. Always a wait for food. The Chinese food is even poor, it seems like supermarket frozen meals.

Been going here a long time but will never return. Never get what i ordered. Always something missing. Its embarresing to be honest as its never been busy and ive been served by the owner each time. Last time was the final straw, ordered chips , jumbo sausage , fishcake , and curry sauce. Took it home without checking(stupid knowing how rubbish they are at getting an order correct). No sausage or fishcake.On returning the guy said the order back to me in a second so he knew. There were no other customers in there. He refunded me instantly and was cool about it and when the order is correct the food is nice. Seems basic to me and its a shame.

I usually don't like going back to places where I believe I've received poor service in the past however the wife popped in here and bought some egg fried rice curry sauce which I think is new on the menu. There has never been a problem with the quality of food and this new addition is great. Simple food but done well. Chicken curry next please lol

Good food, excellent service, have not been using them so much since they stopped doing Chinese food.

I SWEAR BY THIS PLACE & TELL EVERYBODY HOW GOOD IT IS.. BUT..On this lunchtime experience I was very disappointed- The chips tasted of a cleaning product & the large fish looked like a standard with really thick batter on.. NOT THE USUAL Fish & chips I love from Master chippy.. Yes you normally get large portions of tasty chips with really big pieces of Fish.. The big boss was not in the shop & I think standards slip on this occasion.. (at least I hope so because I love Master chippy)

Popped in here for lunch today and wasn't disappointed. I just ordered a regular portion of chips and it was huge. They were fairly nice too. The curry sauce however is one of the best I have ever tasted. I will be returning

Worth it just for giant pancake roll. Chips good. Won ton soup excellent. Avoid pea fritter . busy but friendly

Frequently order food from here and is great because you can order Chinese food and fish and chips so suits both tastes. Food is always really good and consistent.

Fish and chips good, the curry sauce seems to have been prepared with the powdered variety. Depending on the time of your visit, the chips may have been re-heated from lunch time?

I'm not a person to complain but when you end up very ill with diarrhoea and vomiting because of there take away I feel I should. Me and my partner ordered our dinner normally we have never had a problem but this time we ended up with diarrhoea and vomiting and awful tummy pains. when I rang up to speak to the manger all he offered was money off next time we ordered. Felt like they didn't really care but Never again will we eat here to even get the discount. Not a happy customer

Great had it delivered said it would be an hour due it being a Friday night but was only 30 mins ,everyone enjoyed it ,good value and couldn't eat it all

Good value, good taste and great service. Layby parking which can get busy but worth the effort. They also cook Chinese food which should be as good noting the Chinese chefs.
