LJ Chinese Take Away in Fareham

Very very dissapointing poor quality food rice was not cooked properly described as egg fried rice not even one piece of egg within the 4 portions that came because I ordered the food for 4. The chicken quality very poor and the blackbean chicken full of chillies. I ordered the meal for 4 for £41.60 plus all the add ons for uber delivery surely delivery by uber should be free £4 for delivery. Never again will I order food from this place again plus all the feedback from family really really disgusted with the entire experience

I would give it less than a 1star if I could. Absolutely disgusted. I ordered my food through uber eats and the food never arrived. Called up to see what's happening after 2 hours and they said the road was closed so the driver had ro take a long way round (which no road was closed). Absolutely disgusted with this. So now on to uber to get my money back. Waste of time ordering from here as you don't even recive your food

How can a meal take 2hrs to cook, and then get told it’s going to be another half hour before you get it, food was barely warm, Call them to ask what’s happening with my order to be told they have left 10mins ago. When asked why they are taking so long get told delivery driver is of sick with food poisoning makes you feel great, totally avoid at all costs

Amazing food. I would recommend the Satay chicken skewers, prawns in salt and pepper, Singapore friend rice.

Very poor , not what it was , chicken curry was more like onion curry tiny amount of chicken and no spice, sweet and sour chicken was tasteless. I will not be using them again . Jojo would be very upset if she was still running it.

Delivery turned up ,item was wrong I was told to not to come here again . I asked for chicken curry a tia red curry turned up and told thats what I orderd. bad broken english on phone ,Very rude towards me also 30 mins late ,after the response I got and blamed for I'd stay away . Also very expensive for what we got . But the rest of the order was nice but ruined due to the way we was dealt with.

Ordered our food. Delivered right at the end cusp of the expected time, fine. We had missing items. I called the restaurant who demanded an order number. I couldn’t find one on Uber eats. She took my postcode and then said she’d call me back. She didn’t and then closed the order on Uber eats and marked it as delivered. I told Uber eats and they said they’d refund me 20p. REALLY. A whole meal ruined and I’m refunded 20p when I spent £30. Absolute joke. Avoid.

Placed the order with Uber eats at 6:35pm on Friday night and it said it would be 60 minutes. No sign of it after 90 minutes, so called the restaurant to chase. Eventually got through to speak to someone and they said it was just being cooked and would be another 20 minutes and would give us a free bottle of Coke and free stuff. Really not ideal with hungry small kids. No bottle of Coke and no free stuff. Will be looking to get some form of refund as it wasn’t cheap. The food didn’t turn up until 8:45pm and was wrong. The duck chow mein was a beef chow mein and the house special curry was just pork. All food was like warm. Would avoid

Ordered our food and was told 40 min wait, after an hour we phoned up to hear them arguing on the phone and they said it would be with us within 20 minutes. We waited another hour and phoned them and were told the driver was delivering 4 others before our. Over 2 hours after placing our order the food was delivered cold, soggy and tasteless. Never ordering from here again 🫢

Food not as good as usual. Ordered chicken curry which didn’t arrive. Called them and explained to be told that it couldn’t be delivered now as driver short. Someone would drop off refund the next day, that was a week ago and still no refund. Will not be ordering again

Amazing food and customer service. I had a delivery from them and it was lovely. They phoned me to say that they had run out of sesame prawn toast and I could choose anything off the menu to replace it! The ribs are lush.

First time ordering from this one as our normal one is shut.. the food was not amazing chips was over cooked or doubled dipped and not hot. Chowmain was salty and noodles dry but the meat was a good size.. chicken balls was alright.. prawn balls was alright apart from missing two.. also it says free prawn crackers over £30 never got them ethier.. and this Chinese was a lot more expensive than my normal one.. defo won’t reorder from here.

We order takeaway from here a lot - delicious food - always freshly cooked and the meat is a good quality. Highly recommend the Chow Mein !

Amazing food and service (delivery) best chicken noodle soup I've ever had and I have had the privilege of eating at many Chinese restaurants and takeaways all over Europe.

Food very poor quality, 1st meals arrived cold , chips appeared to be recooked as they were hard and nearly cold on arrival . Rung restaurant to let me know they refused to give us new meals then offered one meal . Won't be ordering from these again . Will be contacting environmental health to have the shop inspected .The second lot of chips were not fresh and still tasted disgusting.

Ordered on Ubereats & arrived after 42 mins on an hour expected so good And the food was very freshly cooked with the best curry I’ve had in a while from a takeaway, I ordered Special House Curry Crab claws & Selection starters.. Thank you for restoring my faith back into Chinese Takeaway..

TERRIBLE Placed an order online, they took payment and then cancelled the order. And then told me it would be 5 days for a refund. A complete rip-off!!!!!

Used to be good, we used it regularly. . We used Uber eats this time , don't know if that had any relevance, but it was the worst Chinese I've ever had. 😔

All the dishes we had were delicious. Beef was tender, the capital ribs were superb, chicken balls huge, they and each dish was plenty for a serving for 3 or 4 people.

The worst 'Chinese' food i have ever had the whole family hated it cost £59.94, for 10 items on user eats gave me food poisoning and every item was drenched in grease! Ordered the 'large pancake rolls turned out to not be a pancake at all but a giant spring roll left in a deep fire for 2 hours (half it's weight was grease) and was filled with nothing but bean sprouts absolutely disgusting same with the pork balls, ginger beef was overcooked to hell and back, only barely edible dish was the vegetable chow main and even that was greasy. Overall horrible food avoid at all costs if I could leave zero stars i would.

Had a deal on local takeaways and fancied Chinese, this isn’t normally our first pick but our local has gone downhill recently. Satay skewers and sweet and sour chicken were big highlights, all the food was good though prawns were very hot! Food arrived in good time and all round very good

LJ has had a reputation for closing and opening in the past but, the food has always been good! Would recommend them for a lovely Chinese!

Ordered on Saturday night and it was with us in 25 minutes. Food was very tasty and kept warm. We had duck in black bean, chicken in honey and chilli and some chips - all great and would order the same again. Delivery driver was very friendly too. Very impressed.

Ordering on line with them is so easy, as you can see what you have previously ordered and pick from that if you fancy, or pick from their very extensive menu. Delivery is trackable, and so far we've always had it delivered on time, and with a smile. Food is a good temperature when it arrives, delicious. Shredded beef and mushroom rice is a favourite, along with their duck and lemon chicken. Their salt & pepper chips, are a real treat too! Recommend.

So disappointed. We ordered our meal and were told it would be 45 mins. We had heard nothing after waiting for over an hour so called back and heard arguing as the assistant went off to ask the kitchen what was going on. She came back only to say they had forgotten our order and it would be another 45 mins. My partner had to go to work so we could not wait that long so cancelled it. Both of us very hangry now and my partner who is a nurse left disappointed.

Absolutely useless and a shambles do not use!!!!!!!! Debited my card took money did not give me food and did not refund money absolute joke!!!!!!!!

Fab meat alternatives. Their mock chicken and mock duck is great, we really appreciate having these options, which no other Chinese provides. Got the kung po vegetarian chicken, the sweet & sour vegetarian chicken, szechuan tofu and salt & pepper tofu, as well as fried brocolli and banana fritters. Just amazing. Preordered on their site with a 5% online discount from their direct website (cheaper than uber eats) and easy to collect, was right on time.

We’ve used LJ a couple of times in the past but always collected. We tried to get our food delivered last night. We ordered at 645pm and were told they were busy and food would take an hour and a half. We had to call them twice to chase our order which finally turned up just before 930pm They offered a partial refund; which was kind of them but by then it was too late. Our family Saturday night meal together was ruined.

Still waiting for my delivery now 90 minutes later

Enjoyable. Most people know Lawrence and I formally owned LJ's. So i won't write a review if this is not honest opinion. I have brought the Takeaway from LJ last Tuesday. I was really impressed. I ordered Garlic Salt and Chilli King Prawn, Ko Po chilli Chicken (no waterchestnut), Crispy Duck (I request extra pancakes), Singapore rice noodles (so tasty, really love it) and Young Chow Fried Rice. Every single dish was very high standard and Taste really nice and i love them all. I went in early for the collection and all food cooked in perfect temperature. A cook to order meal like this, you better avoid the peak time. The quality may affect when it is too busy. I will definitely order again this week. :)

This was recommended to us. On this occasion, I decided to collect as it was quicker. It was quite confusing to find. The satnav took me the main road (West Street) right outside Golden Boat Chinese take away which is 185 with LJ nowhere in sight. Could it be a take away service from the same establishment under a different name? No, it is actually at the back of Domino's pizza down a side alley where there is a car park. I ordered by phone, the young lady is well spoken and clear to understand. Portion size was good, price is reasonable and most of the dishes were very tasty and flavoursome. You can order by phone or online. They also deliver. Menu is available on their website. Overall, it was very good and I would definitely recommend and return.

Wow! This place used to be thriving restaurant which was closed due to family circumstances but the amazing food is available as take away. Bursting with flavour and good sized portions with wonderful staff, you must try the food in this Chinese take away.

Omg the king prawn rice only had 2 prawns in it!!!! The chicken balls must of been done in the fritter mix!!!!!! The omelette wasn't cooked properly!!!!! Deep fried beef was only half fried!!!! The beef curry was watery and no taste!!!!' £35 for something that I wouldn't give to my dog!!!! Never using again

Had early dinner at LJ last night. Both felt was a waste of money. Dip sauce tasted off, food not hot. We will not go back there.
