Absolutely outstanding. The soufflé starter was 10/10. Mains we ordered were truly sensational too. Drink selection is wonderful. The staff run a masterclass in terms of welcome, friendliness, warmth and professionalism. An incredible gem that we’ll revisit many times over. Lauren, Heather and Tabitha, thank you for having us and also introducing a Londoner to beef puddings ;) The Marton Arms is Michelin star quality.

We stopped in randomly on Boxing Day and left utterly delighted. The pub was warm and inviting, clean and cosy and the food was delicious. Heather the host was first rate and only added to our experience. For a quaint little pub in the middle of nowhere we were impressed by the variety and quality of their elevated menu that managed to still stay true to comfort pub faire. We hope to be back!

WOW what a nice place. I went to the pub to eat. It was EXCEPTIONAL. It was a slow winter day, and I was the only person eating, so I got a real personal service. I was camping on the moors, so they let me charge my bicycle battery, thankfully. So I ordered food. A lot of it. And it was all the best tasting food I'd ever had. I really wasn't expecting it to be so gourmet, because it was styled as just a normal pub. And the food was at normal pub prices. The more I tasted the food, the more I started to suspect Michelin stars. Because they were able to pay quite a bit of attention to me, the manager explained that he used to work in a Michelin restaurant, and he'd brought his expertise along to their menu. It really showed. I had a taglietelli pasta dish, better than anything in any Italian restaurant. Very thick noodles, wild mushrooms, fantastic spices, you could taste the quality of every ingredient. I also ordered some separate chips, just to make sure I'd be full. Cripsy, with sea salt flakes. I had sticky toffee pudding for desert. Get this, home made ice cream! It tasted thicker and creamier than any other ice cream I've ever had. So I decided to double up again, and have yet another desert. I had the nickerbocker glory. Perfect ratios of ingredients. Brownier and cream throughout the ice cream. It was truly an amazing gourmet twist on all your normal pub food. This is definitely a pub, doing pub food, but doing just about the best job of pub food that you can get.

Just returned from a fabulous evening at the Marton Arms. What a gem of country pub. Stunning location and a wonderful cosy feel to it. Now for the food and service. Top class. The service was exceptional. The 2 front of house staff who served us were absolutely brilliant ( sorry I didn't get your names) both very tentative, chatty and informative, a credit to management for hiring them, they are why we came back tonight for a meal, having experienced their hospitality when popping in for a drink a couple of nights ago. Our meals were beautifully presented and delicious. The bar staff were also fantastic. 5 stars all round. Highly recommended people. Can't wait to return. Keep up the good work guys. Your food and service was exceptional.

The menu appears good, the surroundings look nice but be warned the customer service and managers attitude is shocking! There were 6 of us, for Sunday lunch with 2 children in our party both having breaded chicken goujons. The kids meal was £9.50 and suitable for an under 7 year old, however I don’t mind the price if the quality is good. My kids ate the small handful of chips but only a small mouthful of the chicken which looked really over done. They said they didn’t like the taste. I tried it and it tasted very charred. I spoke to the waitress who said she would speak to the kitchen and that was that. When we came to pay both meals were on the bill. I asked if they would reconsider and at that point I was told that their meals were absolutely fine and there was nothing wrong with the chicken goujons, according to her and the chef. Her approach and demeanor was simply rude. Please be warned of the manager/chef thinks the food is fine they do not care what you think as the paying customer. This level of service was more in line with a cheap takeaway not what this pub fashions itself to be and with such rude and contemptuous service it will never get repeat business from us. Do yourselves and your wallet a favour and choose another place to eat, over priced with no substance unfortunately.

We returned to the wonderful Marton Arms to take on the Yorkshire three peaks challenge. The team there were so accommodating, welcomed us back warmly and helped us with any query we had. The room was lovely and warm when we arrived, and it happened to be where we had stayed before so it’ll the familiarity was great. We went for Dinner, bed and breakfast and even had a pack up made for us as we were heading out early on the Saturday so would have missed breakfast. When we did have breakfast on the second morning it was delicious and just what we needed before our journey home. We will return for our next trips, for many years to come.

Bar staff are knowledgeable and again very friendly while the bar area and the outside areas are well laid out, comfortable and relaxing. The food is amazing, so much flavour and so well presented and the breakfast sets you up for the day. Well done Heather and the team on creating a venue where one visit is never going to be enough and a special mention to Anita who is so friendly, so attentive and makes what is already a fantastic breakfast even better.

Wow! How happy are we that we stumbled upon the Marton Arms?! (Very!!!) Beautiful dining room, warm & attentive service, and the food was absolutely stunning. We arrived around 1:30ish with no booking after having just walked ingleton falls. We were greeted and seated immediately by Craig who served us throughout our meal. Craig provided excellent hospitality, offering great recommendations from both the bar and the food menu, and was always one step ahead meaning we never had to ask for anything! The menu offers plenty of dishes to choose from, however we took Craig up on his recommendation of the Cheese Soufflé and Tomato Bruschetta (starters), followed by the Suet Pudding and Lamb Shoulder (mains), and finishing with Homeycomb Crème Brûlée to share - we could not fault a single thing about our food, everything was absolutely delicious, incredible value for money, and service was timed perfectly well. This was an anniversary meal (albeit we did not make this known), and the service, to the food, to the setting made everything so special for us, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. Thank you Craig and the team at Marton arms for an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to come back!!!

Was staying nearby and chose this place as they had really good reviews for the Sunday roasts. My wife had the roast beef which was really good. 3 large thick pieces of perfectly cooked pink beef which tasted lovely and had a great texture. Big Yorkshire pudding, plenty of really nicely cooked roast potatoes, loads of veg and plenty of tasty gravy. My mother in law asked if they could do a smaller roast portion as she doesn't eat as much (as the menu didn't show anything like this) and the person serving didn't hesitate and said 'of course'. Her portion was smaller than the regular portion but was still a good amount of food (for a smaller price) I'd already checked out the menu so knew in advance that they didn't do burgers (my normal choice in restaurants) However, they had a specials board which had a burger on it so that's what I had! It was a triple burger with cheese and onion rings. The meat itself was nice and juicy and there was a lot of cheese which was really strong and lovely. The onion rings were massive and really good and the fries were also good. The only issue for me was the burger bun. It was rock solid (literally) and hadn't been buttered so made something that was very dry even more drier. Not sure how it's possible to make a bun that hard! Overall we had a lovely meal. All the staff were really nice and friendly and I would definitely recommend this place and eat here again if we're ever back in the area.

We are staying Thornbrook Barn caravan site, Ingleton, which really is 6*. This pub is about a 10min walk down a peaceful country lane, just off the campsite. This pub is fabulous, the staff are excellent, very knowledgeable about the food, wine and location. The really great pubs don't mind what the customer orders, they just want to look after you, this pub does this without reservation. I had the cheese board (3xfantastic cheeses) with really good biscuits, to be honest the cheese's stand well on their own, but the garlic biscuit went fantastically well with the goats cheese, the blue I loved with the beetroot (not sure but lovely) coloured biscuit, and the cheddar, well as we all know this goes with anything. My partner had the lamb croquettes with mint riaita, now these were absolutely fantastic, the lamb was shredded, not minced not sure what I'm getting meat, truly divine (I don't eat lamb these are the words of my partner) we come from Gower salt marsh lamb country so believe me this is high praise indeed. This establishment holds very good wine, I had the Argentinian Malbec, and my partner the Pinot Grigio, very good wines. The owner has a very good palate, a great pub is also measured on the quality of their wine, top notch. In addition to loving great wine, I love great coffee. If there was any element I would improve, it would be the coffee. It was not rich dark and smooth, just not for me... If you get the chance to go here please don't miss it, lovely food, drink, staff and the surroundings, well absolutely amazing. The pub has a coat of arms "dieu et ma patrie' (1679) carved in stone at the top if the entrance, the translation could be 'God and my Homeland'.

If you’re debating where to eat in the area: definitely choose this place! I went for dinner this evening, and was pleasantly surprised with one of the best meals I’ve had for a year or two. Tonight was the night I experienced the first Venison Wellington to beat my previous favourite from 8 years ago. Whoever created the menu and cooked the food deserves an award. The starter alone was to die for. My partner and I shared a Goats Cheese and Beetroot Cheesecake with Beetroot Sorbet & Smoked Haddock Sausage Roll with Dill Mayonnaise. The decor and dining experience is cosy and well thought through down to the quality cutlery and cloth napkins. Was this place quirky-Yes In a good location - Yes Did it have outside seating- Yes Drinks good- Yes Is it Child Friendly- No Now don’t get me wrong, this place is great. Sells local Ales-love. The guy behind the bar was friendly. However where this place went wrong. I’ll explain… As a group of 10 Adults & 8 Children, we were out for a walk exploring the local area to our campsite. We’d walked for an hour, so we were all pleased and excited to see a pub with outside seating where we could sit and enjoy a drink. However the wasps! Now no one is blaming the pub, for this, it is what it is however what was not acceptable was when our children got over excited and let’s be honest flappy about the wasps. A couple of them jumped up on the benches/walls. Now I’m not about to justify this, we calmed them down a couple of times so we aren’t saying it was acceptable to stand on the seats, it wasn’t. But what was not acceptable was when the lady working inside came out and quite aggressively shouted at our children, scared the living crap out of them and then very loudly told anyone that would listen that our children (and I quote) were ‘savages’. Here is some friendly advice on dealing with children in the 21st century- come talk to the parents, even shout at us if you like. But what is never acceptable is to shout at other peoples children. I’d have preferred you to have kicked us out, but let’s be honest, they weren’t exactly trashing the place. I consider myself to be a pretty strict parent but they were just being kids, playing games and living a life outside of devices. It was actually nice to see. Your reaction was wholly unacceptable and I’m hoping was you on a bad day rather than a true reflection of you and your business. I have based the 3 stars I have given you to take all aspects on board but my overall recommendation would be, this pub is not child friendly.
