The Marquis of Granby in East Riding of Yorkshire

Possibly the worst pub meal I've ever had. Scampi chips and peas. The peas were like bullets; it takes real effort to ruin frozen peas. The scampi was undercooked and like mush. The only positive was the chips, which were good. Another person at the table had the chippie feast which came with stale bread and when she asked for it to be replaced they brought more stale bread. The cook clearly doesn't care or have any pride in what they serve up.

Sunday lunch absolutely lovely!!! Friendly staff, and Caroline was so lovely and so helpful she made sure we had all ww needed to enjoy our Sunday lunch!!!

The food was excellent enjoyed it with my partner, music was on the right volume to enjoy. Waiting time was quick wasn't expected.

Ordered food through the app and missed out on free drinks and dessert as it states on menu. Manager basically said ‘deal with’ it and wasn’t helpful at all. In the MENU it clearly stated you get drinks including of ordered with burger, however no option on the app where it states otherwise. The place didn’t fulfill what they promote so overall a very disappointing experience. Would not recommend.

Lovely little spot for a bite to eat. Val did a perfect job and will come back to try more when I need a quick bite to eat. No complaints

New owner Kyle deserves this review. Popped in on Saturday 4 adults with my Grandaughter. Couldn't of made us more welcome. We came back in the evening for meals which were fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant, everyone just enjoying themselves. Definitely spreading the word amongst the caravan owners. Well done and good luck for the future.

Normal pub food but served by a friendly member of staff and nothing is to much trouble. Dogs are allowed as well

The only thing that put me off was the dog barking continously

Really enjoyed our lunchtime visit to the M of G. Food was good, hot and tasty. The beer was a nice pint of Adnams 'Ghost Ship' and the service was polite and friendly. It was our first visit. Will we go again? Definitely 💯

Sunday carvery was great tok much really but I gave food a four star as parents had fish and chips but didn't like them as it was nearly all batter not much fish in it at all and the chips was too big I know that they was chunky chips but still too big for them

A lovely place for good pub grub

Great atmosphere as per. Sometimes struggle to get served because of how busy it is. But the girl with black hair (Bambi I think) pretty much saved mine and my mates night for my birthday. Fast service good attitude to work and great banter. An asset to the staff here

I popped in on a quiet Sunday, and the place was spot on—clean and the grub was cracking. Even better was the service from a lovely lass called Lily behind the bar! Top-notch at Granby.

Went for a couple of drinks after work, it can normaly be quite a depressing audeal. However the wonderful bar lady (bambi) made our time out inpecible, she was charismatic and pulled pints with expertise! Safe to say i will be agreeing to go out again next week!

Went in on a Friday night for drinks with friends and even though plenty of people were around, there wasn’t a wait when the person working the bar, Bambi, was serving - even with rounds!! Great and quick service; here’s to more bevs to come!!

Visited last week, 2 out of 3 meals we wanted they didn't have. Ended up ordering basic lunch baguettes which were nice. Pub is a typical old boozer. Clean but old. Good selection of real ales.

First visit for a Sunday Lunch. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. The Sunday lunches are huge and tasty. You can get extra gravy, potatoes and Yorkshire puddings if you want too.

Nice and quiet but busy staff was lovely and food was very nice I would definitely go again if I'm in hessle

Come here all the time the staff are amazing so welcoming, the food is to die for so tasty and cooked very well by all the great kitchen staff as well. And not long wait times either fabulous place would definitely recommend.

The wife changed the menu over as it was covered in jam or something. I went to the bar to order our drinks, a beer, cider, and a bottle of wine. The glass was very mucky with fingerprints all over it, plus water marks. Got that changed for another just as bad. Told the bar lady to rinse with hot water and polish. 3rd glass was better until I got to the table and spotted a split down the side. Changed it and fully checked before returning to the table. We ordered food thinking it wouldn't amount to much. However, we were so wrong. The food was exceptional, all hot, full of flavour. It seems the low staff levels impact the restaurant, which is a shame. The kitchen were on their A game. There's plenty of tv displays and an outside covered seating area. Food fabulous, quality of cleanliness in the restaurant pretty poor. Sorry, there are no pics with this one. Food is excellent, glasses, tables, and menus dirty. Probably won't return.

Very shocked with the attitude towards regular customers, we have used this pub for years and over a situation over apparent capacity (which seemed strange considering there was a seat waiting inside the pub waiting) the staff chose to speak to multiple members of the group in a awful manner first and when we tried to defend them they became physical shoulder barging and telling us to leave. Terrible customer service.

Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. Amanda is great, really welcoming and goes above and beyond to look after you. Nothing is too much trouble. Fab local pub, just what Hessle needs! Also really dog friendly!

Great for live music and food, amazing beer garden you can just chill out in, team are superstars who was on, parking put back cost £1 but you get that discounted off your order when you show your ticket

first time visit for us ,they had a new menu and messed up order a little but sorted it within minutes ,food was great,beer banging and staff was all lovely ,will probably becoming a regular haunt

Had a lovely lunch yesterday. Staff were friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. The lasagne was very nice, as was the Cheese and bacon burger. Good value for money. Will visit again if in the area.

What an amazing night the staff were amazing and despite some difficult customers kept smiling the whole night, the place was electric with a live band and it was fabulous. Before everything got going other people around had food which looked amazing and they had good things to say so will visit again for food and especially for another live event, well done to all who made it possible the Kingsmen were brilliant.

Started to go here regularly late morning on a week day for a wonderful English breakfast, very reasonably priced, and served by friendly, welcoming staff. LOVE the fact that it's so dog friendly too!

Really friendly welcome from the staff. Lots of water and snacks for the dogs. Good deals on the food.

New menu does not live up to the old one. Food was cold and also incorrect. I accept it was a busy Friday period but the menu just doesn't match that of the old.

Amanda was very nice and attentive(5stars). Would recommend coming here. The cocktails are good at 2-4-1 too. Reason for 1 star they are doing a promotion and not including half the drinks they don’t stock, terrible attitude of the manager has resulted in 1 star!!!

Lovely atmosphere. Extremely dog friendly...cheeky sausage for the pooch..service fab. Chef Emily came out to clarify items on our order. Food was excellent, reasonably priced pub food and a friendly family environment. Our dog loves it and they love him.

Pub is lovely but gone down hill. A shame really but the new manager does not speak about the staff in a nice manner at all. Sad really when the staff are all so lovely

We came to watch the Manchester Derby on Sunday the 3rd of March 2024 and it was incredibly busy but fair play to all the staff. They were so efficient, they all worked so hard, and were so lovely, welcoming and friendly. Laura and Connor, in particular, were excellent. The food was absolutely magnificent. So glad Sally is staying. Jess has done and changed so much in such a short time and for the better. Absolutely delighted she’s the new landlady because she’s working so hard and doing such an incredible job. She fully deserves to be where she is now because it’s a much better experience. Superb staff, superb food, superb service.

Came for a meal with my family on a busy Saturday and the service was exceptional. We ordered the katsu chicken, cheese burger and a kids meal for my daughter which included a dessert! We were served by Laura who had a service with a smile.

What a lovely place to visit! Just popped in for a quick coffee, Jess is so lovely and welcoming will definitely be back. Shame I don’t live closer or this would be my regular place. Will be returning for one of the many events they have planned. Everyone needs a Jess in their work place!
