The Mariners Inn which is now called The Mainbrace Pub is a pub I always look forward to visiting ,it's a proper local's pub that's always well worth visiting. I love the look of this pub ,the interior is superb ,the main room is dominated by an island style serving bar, great decor and furnishings ,tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their courtyard,it's just a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Friday night, pub was packed with a great atmosphere ,we ordered a guinness each ,these were poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle ,we kicked back and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My guinness was really good,a thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste ,very easy to drink,it was just so good being in such a lively pub enjoying a quality guinness. We really enjoyed our guinness in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Mariners Inn we had a great time. The Mariners Inn ( The Mainbrace Pub ) is easy to locate along Whitefield Drive. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Mariner's Inn on Whitefield Drive is an excellent pub that offers a decent range of drinks at reasonable prices. Now called the Mainbrace (It's original name) this pub has just re-opened after the lockdown and is a great pub to visit if you are ever in this part of Kirkby. The pub has an open-plan Interior with lots of good seating areas throughout the pubs interior. The pubs outside seating areas are superb and essential at the moment as all the hospitality sector in the UK are limited to outside table service only. We visited here while walking towards the train station and decided to have a couple of pints before moving on.We gave details for the track and trace and one of the staff on duty took our order of a couple of pints of Guinness which where served in perfect condition and really well priced. This is one of the better pubs in Kirkby and one of the busiest as the drinks are superb and price wise very cheap and is a pub that is worth visiting if you are ever in Kirkby.A very easy pub to find from Kirkby train station take a right on Whitefield Drive and walk for a few minutes.(This is my second review of the Mariners Inn AKA The Mainbrace). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-Don't Know. Due To The Covid 19 Restrictions The Pub Hours Are Not Advertised. Nearest Bus Stop. Alvanley road bus stop. Nearest Train Station. Kirkby train station.

The 12th of April saw some of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions lifted for the hard hit hospitality sector with pubs being allowed to reopen with outside service, with this in mind my twin brother Stephen and I decided to visit some of the pubs in our home town of Kirkby, we dropped by The Mariners Pub we're we luckily managed to get a table, track and traced, a very pleasant member of the staff took our order of a guinness each, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My guinness was outstanding, a rich, creamy and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste, very easy to drink, a totally delicious brew . I must say it was so good sitting outside this pub,it was very cold but my brother and I both had a warm coat on so it didn't really affect us. We really enjoyed our guinness in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another two guinness each before moving on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Mariners Inn Pub is easy to locate along Whitefield Drive, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Along Whitefield Drive there are some great pubs ,one of my favourite pubs is The Mariners Pub which I think has reverted back to its original name of The Mainbrace Pub. Love the look of this pub ,a big open plan pub, lovely decor and furnishings, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their courtyard, actually with pubs reopening on the 12th of April with outside service only this feature of the pub will come into play ,all in all its a great pub to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Thursday night, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we were allocated a table were we as part of the governments guildlines of having a substantial meal with alcohol we ordered a big bowl of chips each and for our drinks we opted to have pints of Carling, these beers were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the laid back vibe in this pub ,while sipping our beers our chips arrived and what a treat, chips were plentiful, thick cut, beautifully fried and seasoned and went with our beers so well,a really big tasty, filling bowl of chips 🍟. After our meal and 1st beers we got comfortable and ended up staying for another couple of pints each before moving on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Mariners Pub is easy to locate along Whitefield Drive. A great pub, when the 3rd and final lockdown is lifted in April most definitely well worth checking out.

My twin brother Stephen and I had just had a fantastic day out in Liverpool hitting some of the great pubs and bars our city is justifiably famous for, we jumped the train down from Liverpool Central Railway Station to Kirkby Railway Station and headed to The Mariners Inn ,a pub I've been visiting for years. I love the look of this pub,a light and airy interior, superb decor and furnishings, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their beer garden out front of the pub, its just a really good pub. We were here on a Tuesday night, we got here at about 10.30pm,pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a Carling beer each, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was spot on ,Carling beer is not normally my tipple, more a real ale fan but this was delicious, a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink, a totally refreshing brew indeed, my brother also gave me a thumbs up to his beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another two beers each before we moved on. The Mariners Inn is easy to locate along Whitefield Drive. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till Midnight. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

The Mariners Inn is one of Kirkbys oldest pubs ,its a pub that I've been visiting for more years than I care to count, its a proper warm and welcoming locals pub. I love the look of the pub ,a large L shaped room served by an island style serving bar, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport, nice decor and furnishings including lots of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just one really good pub. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday night, pub was absolutely bouncing with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a beer each,we opted for bottles of Birra Moretti beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was really good, this great Italian lager is delicious, a mellow ,malty taste with hints of toffee, well balanced, from the first sip till the last sup a really top end lager style beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we moved on and as on every other visit we had a great time. The Mariners Inn is so easy to find on Whitefield Drive ,its a three minute walk from Kirkby Train Station or busses number 20 or 21 drop you off practically by the pub. We stayed here for a good few hours before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Premier Pub is easy to locate on Market Square in Kirkby Town Centre. I'm not comming to Costa often, maybe twice a year, but I'm not happy about my recent visit. Coffee and food as you would expect from Costa, but staff completely incompetent to work under pressure, remember orders or multitask, which is quite sad for such a nice place. 4 girls stressing around, spilling coffeys on the desk, customers waiting ages for their coffee as 4 girls cannot manage even 2 customers at the same time and can't remember an order for more than 10 seconds. I have been asked 3 times what I ordered even 10 minutes after I paid and that was just a croissant, lemon cake and late, three customers came after me been served before me, nothing for my level of patience. No smile, no politeness, no sorry, just stressed faces. Cannot recommend, otherwise the place is nice and clean.
