Una pareja sirvió 15 minutos después que la otra pareja. Solo 4 personas en total. Tuve que recordarles y luego las 2 comidas aparecieron al instante. Probablemente la camarera se había olvidado de sacarlos. No te disculpes. Una comida tenía verduras sin cocinar. Llamó a una camarera y todo lo que dijo fue “lo tomaré de vuelta”, pero nuestra amiga se negó, decidiendo omitir la verdura; y luego dijo “se lo diré al chef”. Sin disculpas; sólo una cara hosca. No hemos oído nada más. Deberíamos haber pedido cafés gratis por todas partes. Pero deberían haber sido ofrecidos. Y 2 hamburguesas de ternera sabían ligeramente a ternera pero con algo añadido; probablemente para abultarlo. Nunca más.

Almorzamos aquí hoy con patatas fritas de jamón, huevos, guisantes... no volveríamos a comer aquí, nuestras comidas fueron decepcionantes, patatas fritas duras, los guisantes no estaban cocinados... ¡buen jamón, pero había sido calentado! 🤢mis amigos el huevo no estaba cocinado, estaba corrido. Había comido aquí por última vez hace unos años, el almuerzo era encantador, pero no lo suficientemente bueno para el precio.

Mi esposa y yo acabamos de estar para una comida en el bar salón, que hemos visitado en varias ocasiones y no nos decepcionó, pero no volveremos. Ambos pedimos pescado rebozado, patatas fritas y guisantes mushy todos los cuales eran totalmente insípidos. El pescado no estaba condimentado, las patatas fritas gruesas eran las más baratas del supermercado y los guisantes no tenían sabor en absoluto. Pedimos una carta de vinos y después de que el personal del bar había mirado a su alrededor y no pudo encontrar uno comentó “teníamos uno, pero parece que se ha perdido”. ¡¿Cuánto tiempo llevaría imprimir y laminar un par más? Los cuatro jóvenes empleados del bar pasaban la mayor parte del tiempo merodeando detrás de la barra y charlando o desapareciendo en el cuarto trasero para revisar sus teléfonos móviles. No - uno vino a nuestra mesa para preguntar cómo estaba la comida y nos fuimos prometiendo no comer allí de nuevo.

I booked a table for 5 in the restaurant on a Thursday evening. Both my sister and I order the black pudding with poached egg. The starters were cold. the poached eggs like a bullet. The dishes had to be sent back. New starter were offered. I ordered roast beef and specifically asked if it was cooked fresh. When it arrived the meat was thin pre sliced beef, the potatoes cooked from frozen, Yorkshire pudding dry and inedible. Overall a disgrace. The venue is one that we often attend for Sunday lunch and is usually okay. On this occasion was far from acceptable and for the price not reasonable at all. The ‘manager’ did listen to my complaint but insisted the meat was freshly sliced from a joint. I challenged her several times to allow me to see the chef cutting the meat, she declined. We were not charged for the starters or my main. We will never eat here again. If food can not be of a fresh and reasonable standard do not offer it. Our family get together for my mums 91st birthday was spoilt. Be aware before you book here.

Got to be the best roast dinner in Crosby. Mine was a vegetarian nut roast (definitely home made and was so tasty 😋). My friend loved the roast dinner too (meat choices). The staff as always are professional and polite. Love this place - fabulous restaurant 👍

We went to the Royal for dinner on Saturday at 530 ish. My husband ordered the Balti and I opted for pie of the day. While he was ordering a lady came up complaining about her burger being hard. Then when our meals came my pie was chicken and mushroom, the chicken pieces were really hard, it reminded me of the awful frozen stuff they sell in Iceland. I couldn’t eat it. We also saw another diner complaining at the bar about her dessert. I’m not sure what was going on with the chef, I usually love going there, all I ate were the chips and gravy. We didn’t bother staying for another drink. Didn’t get a chance to complain while we were there as I had only just started my meal when we were asked if everything was ok. Sorry to say it’s put me off returning

We were so looking forward to Sunday lunch at The Royal after the long lockdown. They used to do a small or larger Sunday lunch but they don't do that now. The meal came and it was huge. There was five different veg and lots of meat. Should not complain but it was just to big for me and put me off. There was a lot of rosemary and thyme which tasted everything on the plate. The staff were very attentive and the service was adequate.

I phone ahead to ask if they were still serving breakfast as it was near midday and was advised no but there was an all day breakfast on the menu so we headed to the hotel. When I went to order our food I was advised the all day breakfast was not on the Sunday menu but he would ask the chef who kindly agreed to do a breakfast. I also ordered a BLT on a baguette. When the food arrived the sausage on the breakfast was cheap tasting an d tough and the pot of tea was anaemic tasteless no matter how many times we stirred the pot there was no strength in it, and when it was pouring from the tea pot it went all over the table and my hand. The BLT was full of fat (photo attached) the chips were not cooked I sent them back and when they came back still not cooked so I asked for a refund which was given. The whole experience for the prices charged was not acceptable hence the review. It is such a shame as the surroundings and the area are lovely, needs to be addressed.

Went with a friend to dine as I had seen good reviews with this business, pre reserved on-line via outdated website left contact number and email. Had not received confirmation email on said day of booking so rang the restaurant ahead to confirm booking, gentleman on the telephone claims no booking had been made, when querying it further spelling my email out he then went onto say they had emailed me to reject the booking but come to the bar and we would be seated. Upon arriving with my guest they said there would be a 30 minute wait on food which we was happy to patiently wait for and have a drink in the mean time. After other people arriving later than us and ordering food and getting it delivered my guest queried when we would be able to order as we had waited the said 30 minutes to be told he would check. No one came to see us or update us so after another 15 minutes I went to the bar to order to be told the manager said only residents could order food, at this point it was 8:15 we had waited 45 minutes for food. I asked if there was any chance the manager would honour a meal order for my and my guest as we had waited 45 minutes and told upon arrival we could eat with a 30 minute delay, otherwise we would of went elsewhere to eat and not waste our money on drinks beforehand to be told a solid no. My friend isn't from Liverpool and I was extremely disappointed in this level of service from our local community and it was an embarrassment to say the least. I am always the first to praise exceptional customer service and dislike leaving bad reviews however on this said occasion I feel it is a must to warn the visitors of the area if they are busy in this establishment you will have poor service if any at all. No level of organisation or communication via staff.

I have been using the Royal and its restaurant over the past six years, at one point living there for nearly two years. I have always been satisfied with the quality, choice and portion size offered. Returned there three weeks ago, with friends, and I can honestly say the food was the best I have ever enjoyed there. Calamari starter, gorgeous, pork belly main, perfect, and no room for dessert. Keep up the good work, guys - can't wait to return

Went for a family meal. In general staff were nice. Some of the group ordered mussels for starters - all had to be sent back. Mussels were unopened, overcooked. Staff obviously didn't know anything about mussels and said their OK even though they are closed. All were sent back. Even though meals were pre ordered still had delays for starters and main courses and desserts. Had to ask a couple of times for desserts to be sent out. Not too impressed.

Food.. We've been many times in the past and had a very satisfactory experience. However, the food was substandard, Service was slow. No napkins. Very dissatisfied.. When meal arrived, the order was wrong. When approached staff, no apology, and they only replaced part of the meal.. My wife's meal was so over cooked.. Almost inedible. Will not return.

We normally love the Royal Hotel, the food and service has always been very good. However today we waited 55 minutes for a simple chiabbata meal and unfortunately had to complain to the manager about the unacceptable delay. We were told on two occasions that it was ready "now" when obviously it wasn't. To add insult to injury when our meals eventually arrived they were NOT what we ordered so we sent them back, got a refund and left. The manager was apologetic although she tried to dispute that we had only waited 30 mins which definitely was NOT the case. She was apologetic but not enough to offer us a free drink or a coffee by way of a small compensation which any good reputable establishment would when the waiter who took the order obviously got it wrong. Very disappointed in the Royal and we will not be returning.

I was back in Liverpool and a friend told me that we should have lunch at the Royal as we would be assured of good food. There must be another Royal with the good food as this one was truly shocking. First thing the row of drilling sawing and banging did not make for a relaxing lunch. The staff were beyond rude. having eventually got the attention of one at the empty bar, he just said "Order your food at the other side I am busy". At this point if my friend had not brought me I would have ordered my food somewhere else. I son wished I had. I ordered Tandoori chicken. This is a traditionally "dry" dish marinaded in yogurt and Indian spices cooked in the oven. The chicken traditionally is on the bone and has a vibrant pink colour. This was two slices of thick cut chicken breast with a consistency of rubber covered in a mass (a lot) of an unidentifiable pink sweet sauce. Absolutely horrible. I left 75% of the fod, much to my friends embarrassment. Eventually a surly waitress came over and cleared. She asked robotically, "was that nice" I said clearly it wasnt - I asked her how they could call that Tandoori chicken, she said Oh its not its Jalfrezi - it was not that either My friend had some indescribable vegetarian rissole and risked a dessert , which they didnt charge for, This was microwaved piece of cake slathered with some disgusting sauce. They claimed it was sticky toffee pudding. A terrible experience

Un grupo de cinco fuimos a cenar la última noche. Dos tenían la cena asado que estaba mal por cualquier estándar, pero sólo un toque de salsa, cuando pedimos más salsa el camarero volvió y dijo que sería un cargo adicional extra para la salsa. Yo estaba furioso y pedí hablar con el gerente, una señorita vino y dijo que era política de cargos adicionales, pero después de examinar la placa nos dijo que podíamos tener acceso! ! ! ! El bistec que ordenó además servían sangrientas y teníamos que volver a la cocina. El llamado hotpot de pollo que hemos tenido antes era también muy decepcionante sirve en zumo s finas y sin sabor. Mi propia comida tandoori pollo fue el peor que he probado, simplemente una pieza normal de pollo con un poco de pasta tandoori. más regates ! No repetir la experiencia, hay establecimientos mucho mejor para comer en las inmediaciones. ! ! !

Un grupo grande de nosotros (15) visitamos el restaurante para una celebración especial en mi recomendación como he sido un cliente de la muchas veces real. Debido al tamaño de la fiesta tuvimos que comprobar pedido nuestras comidas la semana anterior, lo que no es tan inusual. Dada la sopa caliente eran sólo empezar, me sorprendió que un gran número de nosotros que tenía entradas frías tuvimos que esperar algún tiempo después de que todos los demás se servía y prácticamente acabado antes de recibir la comida. No todas las comidas principales nos sirven juntos y la pechuga de pollo fue muy seco (no un pollo como aquellos que pedimos todos piensan los mismo). Para ser justos, nos lo pasamos muy bien, porque de la empresa y de la celebración, así algunos de nosotros nos sentimos incómodos a la hora de traer la comida a la atención administradores. En general decepcionante, especialmente como me había recomendado el lugar y comimos allí un número de veces antes y no estás pagando precios de alimentos. Habiendo dicho todo eso, el personal era encantador y amable y se sintieran bienvenidos y el ambiente del restaurante es muy agradable. Dada la gran variedad de restaurantes locales, por desgracia puede ser un rato antes de que estoy preparado para probarlo de nuevo.

Reservamos en el restaurante para una comida de cumpleaños. Aunque el personal era muy bueno - La comida era pobre. While attempting to book the venue for my father in law's funeral dinner we were treated with virtual contempt. The staff were difficult, unhelpful and disinterested.Our requests were not met on the day, dinners were cold, members of the family were not served at all and the tables cleared while people were still eating.We were rushed out of the dining room only to be treated even worse as the day progressed.Measures of spirits were exceptionally small and we doubted the quality of what it was were we supposedly buying.This venue has been a staple for our family over many years but none of our party would return again. The standards have dropped appallingly and I wish I could rate lower than TripAdvisor allows.

La vista Marina es uno de nuestros favoritos. Mi padre, que tiene 80 años de edad, le gusta, así que ir cada par de meses. Tienen un nuevo chef y un nuevo menú. Muy decepcionado - ordenados uno grande y uno pequeño de carne asada (1 y 1) no podría decirte jamón diferencia excepto por el precio de £4 extra para más grande? Porción. No disponible o rábano picante, salsa de manzana verduras cocinadas, aunque sólo patatas bien. No es barato, y ciertamente no una buena relación calidad-precio. £11. 95 y 7 libras. 95. No vamos de nuevo!

Went here with high expectations of having a really nice roast dinner but it turned out to be a real disappointment. The young lady who took the order was really sweet and pleasant and the dining room itself was quite cosy. The meal itself though was sub standard with meager portions of vegetables and the beef was quite tough. Had better in a Wetherspoons for nearly half the price!

They offer a good range of well cooked food to suit all tastes and budgets. They also have a well stocked wine cellar which complements the meals on offer. The service offered from the waiters is friendly and informative on the menu and wiling to make changes. I believe I saw something on the menu which offers to cook off menu if ingredients are available. The food is always served at the table in good time and at the right temperature. As you would expect the meals are appetising and delicious.

Just had two awful meals at the Royal hotel in Waterloo. I had the lamb Henry which was braised lamb in a mint gravy. Both the lamb and the gravy were quite tasteless. The lamb was overcooked and there seemed no mint at all in the watery gravy. My partner had fish and chips. Not an easy meal to get wrong but they did. The "cod" was a terrible grey colour and did not taste very fresh. The accompanying salad was limp and bruised and the mushy peas had a strange chemical taste. Overall a terrible experience and not a place we will return to at all.

My friend and I went last Sunday and we both had roast beef. At this point I would say that there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. Our starters were served quite quickly, but a long wait before our plates of beef with gravy on and yorkshire pudding were placed in front of us, then a really long wait before a small dish with a small amount of vegetables for the two of us arrived . By this time the york.pudding and gravy were cold and were inedible, Not an enjoyable meal at all. We often eat in the bar area , and have done for years, surely its the same chefs

I don't mind admitting that I'm not getting any younger, but we were the youngest ones in the restaurant. Maybe it was just bad timing on our part but it felt more like a nursing home....sorry Royal Hotel. However on a much more positive note the food was excellent, the staff were very attentive and the place was clean, tidy and presentable. I've been before for other functions and it is a really nice place.

A lovely little gem in Waterloo. This hotel has a real relaxed feeling to it, I think because the decor is very traditional (which I like). It is a nice place to relax, eat, drink and read. The staff are very helpful and polite.

Food was not up to much my friend had mixed grill all undercooked taken home for the dog did mention it but did not get much response ,I had tuna mayo sandwich could taste vinegar in it not much Tuna at all had a bad tummy ever since got home think the Tuna must have been off giving that pub a miss from now on

Over priced..staff not very accomodating..had a complaint about the food being tasteless and bland considering the cost..manager very rude didnt even offer to replace the meal with something else it wasnt like i was asking for a refund i just wanted what i supposlingly paid for "flavoursome" instead i got bland and cold would not recommend this place to anybody
