We had our wedding meal and reception on the 19/08/23. The food was fantastic the room was decorated beautifully and everything timed to perfection. Sue and the team went above and beyond for us and our guests. 5 stars is not enough they deserve more recognition. Beautiful venue, highly recommend. The prefect setting for any occasion.

Nice place, breakfast wasn't that great. Sorry for the poor review but it was a 5 out of 10. Sausage tasted off, really smelt suspect so totally ruined the plate. Hash brown was under cooked, only one slice of toast. Not sure what the massive under cooked tomato was meant to achieve . Poor show pull your socks up and get on your game and improve the breakfast as the roots are there for a successful cafe. Good luck, take the feed back and improve. Try the truck stop at hellaby and learn. Staff were great though , but from the heart it was a poor experience .

Had our daughters wedding here. Excellent venue and value for money. Very helpful owners and staff, could not fault anything. Food was superb. Highly recommended

Attended a birthday party here in October and the bar service was fantastic and the food was great for a buffet. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a party venue. I am sure I saw on Facebook about free room hire.

What a great venue to have your party 🎉. I held my 50th birthday party here on 3rd September and Sue and her team at the Manor Barn were fantastic from start to finish. I had the downstairs area because I had too many guests for upstairs but both rooms are beautiful and the downstairs looked fab once we had decorated during the day. Sue is so professional and accommodating and was always very quick to reply to my many many queries. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The food was amazing, we had so many wonderful comments anbout the buffet and it’s very reasonably priced too compared to other venues. Thank you to everyone there for making my party special 🎉

Had a lovely meal today at the Manor Barn. 2 meals for £12 bargain! They also have a loyalty card with different discounts off food and drink depending on the day of the week. Great friendly service too! And amazing chunky chips. They are also dog friendly. Will definitely return.

After our Xmas dinner disappointment we decided to give these guys another try. I’m so Glad we did, we had Sunday carvery which was delicious, all the veg tasted fresh the meat as tasty and juicy. The service is always 5* but now the foods back up there too See you again soon :)

Went for a set Christmas meal with friends hardly anyone in starter was so bad couldn't eat it, complained seems we weren't the only table to complain either, tried the main ate a big part due to being hungry but meat was dry some parts cold some hot could only taste chip pan fat which they must have cooked the roast potatoes in spoilt the taste of everything else and dessert should have know it wasn't going to be good again same as the starter couldn't eat tasted funny custard definitely didn't taste fresh had a refund for the starters left very disappointed. Shame as the pub itself looks quite nice could do with some bits fixing up. Won't be going again after leaving we felt we shouldn't have paid for what we did have even the drinks tasted wrong.

If I could have given them a zero I would have done! Completely ruined my family’s Christmas food wasn’t fit for a dog and even the staff admitted on multiple occasions they wouldn’t have eaten it themselves. Our family have had an extremely difficult year and we’re looking forward to a beautiful family meal stress free together to cherish a special Christmas. Completely inedible. All our food so overcooked it’s was either cremated or so dry it didn’t have any moisture left in it. Chef needs sacking because I wouldn’t trust them with a microwave meal. £50 a head for NOTHING. Restaurant have agreed on a full refund but 12 tables walked out 6 of them in the same service as us. 2 hours to be served something only worthy of the bin to then be told they “can’t make anymore” because they only order enough for the set amount so one of our guests had nothing to eat. We didn’t even stay for dessert. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! No Christmas dinner for us and heartbroken relatives on a day that was supposed to be special.

Parked car in the car park it was pitch black no lights on scary did not feel safe to walk or leave car walked in pub very cold there where more staff than customers 1 had a woolly hat on because it was cold they where sat in front of bar & looked like homeless people not very smartly dressed ordered food the chef looked scruffy ordered of the 2 for £12 menu ok wood not rush back Said on black board 25% of all food we didn’t get this of our bill didn’t bother question this because we only had 2 for £12 meal

Tracy and the team were very welcoming and went over and above to make our birthday meal special. The food was delicious and freshly prepared - even though there were no chicken wings! Tracy made sure we had everything we needed and looked after us all night - will definitely be back soon :)

We booked a table for 11 of us on a Tuesday night by messenger and got a reply saying we was booked in . Has we live about a mile away we decided to walk there so everyone can have a drink , on arrival we was told by the bar person that he as no record of the booking as it was not in the book, as he was on his own with only a chef in the kitchen catering for11 of us make take some time ,(Unbelievably this is the second time this as happened to us , more fool us) thought we would give our local business another chance even though the reviews was not good , but it seems they can’t even get a booking right it would be a recipe for disaster, so we left to eat elsewhere, got taxis to mill dam at greasbrough , what a difference they could not do enough for us , The management need to manage this business if they want customers to come in and spend money, cause at the moment is not working with bad reviews, We will not be visiting this public house any more period.

We went for a family meal of around 12 of us. We had pre booked the table and the food so that everything in theory should have been ready. We arrived and the tables had been set out, however they were filthy. We had a little one with us so we always give a cursory wipe before she eats. The wipe was black afterwords. The rest of the tables were sticky and had leftover food on them. Which is unacceptable when you have pre booked. A couple of our party were late which gives a little mitigation to the next part. The food finally started to arrive, 1 dish at a time. With maybe a 2 minute gap in between, which is unacceptable when you are in a large group. We also had not been given any cutlery to eat with or asked if we wanted any sauces. After we had started to eat, Me and my wife had all but finished our food when the final two dishes arrived for our group. And when those final dishes did arrive the garlic bread was mouldy. Again something that is unacceptable. A young lad dealt with it, I don’t blame him too much, but he clearly had no training. He simply took the bread away and then came back with some fresh 10 minutes later. Not a word of an apology. At this point I would expect a manager or team leader to come over and apologise on behalf of the company, but nothing. All in all it wasn’t a great visit. Most of the food was lovely so the chef clearly has some skill. However, the attitude of the staff, the cleanliness of the tables, the mouldy bread and then the lack of management means that I have come on here to write this review and we will not be going back again.

Very bland vegetables, meats okay, warm but not hot food, mostly burnt Yorkshire and chewy Yorkshire puddings. Not low enough in standard to complain at the time, but we all agreed… definitely won’t be returning.

Came for Sunday lunch with my parents and family for a birthday celebration. Arrived and showed to the table, drinks arrived promptly. No one took our order and after waiting a good 10 minutes I chased up the manageress up for service. Stood at the carvery area for a few minutes before been served . Manager and partner sat down casually talking showing no interest in whats going off. Very disappointed with the food. The carvery had a good choice of vegetables but it was barely warm. Meat was ok. The Yorkshires were like 3inch thick batter and hard to cut (overcooked) and the cauliflower cheese was like a 9 year had mixed a packet together from the co op. Rest of the food was averagely bland I'm not sure if there has been a change of management here but the customer service and food was appaling. Came last May and the food/service was brilliant. Noticed another couple had drinks and sent there food back. Pub also seemed fairly quiet. Made a complaint and got discount and some of the meals taken off the bill and feedback given to the management. Definitely won't be returning any time soon.

Had an evening meal for 2 of us, a mixed grill an a rump steak. All we can say is it was edible…. But the mixed grill was very greasy, deep fried sausages, deep fried chicken breast, chips that you could squeeze the oil out...

Lovely Carvery Between two of us we tried all 3 meats - favourites Gammon and Turkey. Vegetables looked delicious and fresh and tasted lovely. Buttery, Cheesy, Cauliflower Cheese was delicious. Homemade Yorkshire Puddings All piping hot Will definitely return

Had a family and friends gathering after our daughter’s funeral. The staff were so lovely, accommodating and friendly. The buffet that they produced for us was delicious and so much of it. Thank you once again for a lovely afternoon. We are so grateful.

we are regulars in this pub but the food has gone downhill fast. We are there on Friday and ordered a Sirlion steak. The steak was so tough we couldn’t even cut it never mind chewing it. There was other diners all complaining that the food was overcooked. We did complain to the staff but they said there was nothing they were prepared to do

Lovely old building, great service with very friendly staff. Pitty about the food all 5 steaks were taken home for the dog. I have never had fillet and rump steaks spoiled as bad as these. This is the 3rd time of eating there and always been first class. must have been an off night. It's a long way from Cornwall to be disappointed.

This place has so much potential. Great location, beautiful setting, great restaurant facility and decor. HOWEVER, , PLEASE GET A GOOD CHEF IN! The food is poor quality and unimaginative. I have spoken with several people who feel the same. This place could be turned into a goldmine with the right chef and kitchen staff. A proper gastopub. Please do something about it now and get more people coming to eat and drink. You will double your turnover as word of mouth will soon get people flooding in. Visited the Manor Barn on a Friday early evening. Upon arrival, there was a large party but the staff (particularly Matty) went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. They kept us informed of wait times and when we were able to order food, found us a table and the food was served within the timescales given. Food was delicious and top quality. Will be back and would recommend!!Cheers guys!

This Sunday dinner and service were the best in a long time. I will be back. Gravy and plate also come with this for those that doubt the dinner on a board. The chicken and veg were spot on.

Saw on Facebook a new chicken Sunday lunch offer that looked fab so we decided to call without a booking and we were fitted in our lunch was beautiful the only thing I would change the carrots were nearly raw and the gravy was too runny just my personal preference also a couple who ordered as well asked for mash to which they got eventually which we would have preferred but were never offered again just our own preference but mash would have got you a 9 but overall we would give you 8 out of 10

I found this pub on Facebook as they do the Sunday lunch platter. Looked amazing and the price was good! Seemed a little different to the normal Sunday lunch. So I booked without looking at the reviews as I like to make my own mind up. But thought I'd share my experience.

Visited yesterday after reading good reviews and being in the area. Staff were pleasant and polite. Food a different matter, it was disgusting. I had what was supposedly braised steak, it wasn't it was slices of roast beef which tastes almost off and water like gravy. Chips were so greasy they were inedible. My husband had the Sunday lunch which was slightly better, but not much. Have never left a bad review before but would hate people to waste their money here as we did.

we had two meals for £12 mid week, thought food was ok apart from the chicken curry which was watery and there was not enough of it, it only came with about 5 chips, my husband was still hungry afterwards. meat and potatoe pie was good.Service was ok.

What a shame the service was so poor. Beautiful food spoilt. Cold Sunday roast served to a table of 7,10mins from first meal to last,then 5 mins before the gravy arrived. Same with desert,pudding cold before a small gravy boat of custard arrived to serve 3people. This needs sorting,as definitely would go back if the derive improved.

Turned up on spec, was met by very pleasant bar staff who explained how to get in to the building without steps(there's a lower car park) and offered us a table whilst she took our drinks orders, and carried the drinks to the table. The menu is very comprehensive with loads of choice and not too expensive.

We arrived just after 4pm after they had just opened, and was warmly welcomed and shown to a table. I ordered the slow cooked Braising Steak and my partner ordered Chicken in Herb Sauce and when they both came the portions were very generous and of top quality. This was the first time we had visited The Manor Barn but rest assured we will be returning. The welcome and quality of the food guarantees a future visit.

Not been here for years, read the good reviews, therefore booked Xmas menu for 4 people . Not much of an atmosphere and not many diners to say it was the Saturday before Xmas. That said, food and service from the young waitress was faultless. The only thing I would mention is the Prawn cocktail was very 70's...served on one lettuce leaf and no bread roll. My main course had both salad and vegetables! Overall it was a lovely relaxed meal and very good value for money. Will definitely return.

Used to come here quite often. Thought we would give it a try again with the grandkids. Still a nice smart pub where you feel happy to dine. Tried one of the real ales which was excellent. Ordered 4 main meals off the 2 for £12 menu which is a good offer. Just a young lady on the bar who was very helpful and courteous. Good service Chips were home made 5/5. All 4 meals were fine but the so called Manor band pies were meat and potato in a pot dish with a hard thin pastry. This pastry was like cardboard and we couldn't eat that the content of the dish was fine but not a lot of filling. Mushy peas ok. Chocolate cake was nice according to the grandkids. Overall an enjoyable visit.

Went for a wedding reception. A cosy place with a very nice atmosphere. Staff were very efficient and the meal was served promptly. The function room was to the rear of the building and allowed the party to continue with minimal disruption ot the remainder of the restaurant/bar.

Brilliant meal this afternoon. Yorkshire Pudding wraps- yum! And we tried the meat n potato pie which was equally tasty. Recommend to all!!

My husband and I have just had our wedding reception here on Saturday. From the moment we booked at the beginning of the year, we've always been updated and kept in the loop every step of the way. Bridie and Aiden were amazing and nothing was too much trouble and went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect for us. When we walked into the room after the ceremony we were amazed at how beautifully decorated the tables and surroundings were, we couldn't have been more happy with everything. Final note on this would be that if you're looking for a potential venue in Rotherham, take a look at this one.

Reserved the conservatory for our sons 18th for a family get together .All of the staff could not do enough for us and even brought us extra tables and chairs to accommodate all of our guests. The venue is ideal for a small gathering and the buffet was very nice. Highly recommended.

So last night I visited manor barn for my mum's 60th birthday party. I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were so helpful. Communication was second to none and the staff could do enough for us. Especially Bridie.

Sunday lunch with the family. It was very quiet as hardly anyone else in. The portions were generous, particularly the meat. Vegetables were overcooked and bland, but overall it was a satisfactory meal.

Everything about our visit yesterday was superb. The riendly staff kicked it off perfectly, the food was delicious (which cost a lot less than it should!)

The Manor Barn were really generous with letting my son and his two friends host a fundraising event last week to raise money for their World Challenge expedition to Tanzania next year. Bridie, Danny and all the staff at The Manor Barn were really amazing on the night. They are really keen on supporting their local community. The function room where we held the fundraising event is a great size, it is private, well presented and the buffet was great. We would highly recommend the function room for any kind of celebration. Thanks again to The Manor Barn, you have been amazing!!

We held a charity event here to raise money for our daughters world challenge. Please see previous reviews on how amazing the staff were. I went to meet a friend here for tea on a Thursday night as I had to set a few things up for our event. Great menu to chose from if you want homemade pub food. The curry was tasty and the chips were homemade...delicious. We then ordered puddings from the menu. Great value for money. The bar and waiting staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were asked if we wanted to stay for the quiz. So glad we did what a laugh. Bridie and Danny what an amazing pub/restaurant you have! We will be back soon!

Had a family meal and all of us were very happy with the quality and value of the food. Homemade meat pie was lovely!

We went to an event that was set up by my niece and her friends to raise money for there trips to Tanzania. The owner gave them the function room for free and also put on a buffet for free which I thought was really generous. The buffet was beautiful, the function room is fantastic for private events and the staff were absolutely fantastic, they couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely return!

We booked tables for our granddaughter s 18th birthday. We had a lovely evening, table was laid for us. We took the cake in earlier and they looked after it for us. They were very attentive during the evening. When we booked it they could not do enough to help us set the stage for her birthday. She really enjoyed as we all did. Good memories. Would highly recommend.

My daughter brought me here for a nice birthday meal, homemade chips were nice had steak, asked for it medium rare but came overcooked...but they were spot on in rectifying the problem no fuss and very polite and the steak that they brought back was cooked to perfection and very tasty...the prices are reasonable for what you get and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment to others.

We arranged and attended our daughter's engagement party in the private function room

Me and my fiancé Sarah had our engagement party at The Manor Barn last night and we just wanted to say a very big thankyou to the staff who made it the perfect evening. The Manor Barn provides plenty of parking and an excellent function room, the buffet food was fresh and very, very nice, and the beer was well priced, although admittedly as it was my engagement party I didn’t buy many beers myself! The staff had been there all day and by the end of the night were every bit as hard working as they had been all evening. We’d particularly like to note that both Bridie and Danny provided excellent service to our party, with Danny receiving many good comments as our barman from a large number of guests. We will continue to visit for many years to come and would definitely have another party there. Cannot recommend enough, thanks to all!

Such a good experience having our wedding at the manor barn nothing was too much to ask of them. The catered to vegetarian and vegan as well as soft food requirements with no issue, all changed I wasted to make last minute we’re all gladly accommodated for and we were made to feel very welcome when planning and finalising all our details. The food was excellent and all our guests agreed that the room was beautiful and the perfect setting for out event. 10/10 would hold another event there as the service was spot on a great value for money ❤️

The pub is understaffed and as such we had a very long wait for our food, (almost an hour). Although there was a wedding party on, in our part of the pub it was almost empty. We had tried to book initially for 7:30pm but were told that we had to get there for 7pm, but then we didn't get our food until nearly 8pm.The braised steak was quite dry, as if it hadn't been braised for long enough. The chips were also very dry and the portion of peas was small. Nobody came to ask if the meal was okay. Disappointing.

Visiting family - so went here three times during the week - food was good and ambience good except for the flashing fairy lights on constantly - that's a real put off. The lights are a nice touch it's the flashing that gets on your nerves. Totally unnecessary. Staff are good - and the place is kept nice so comfortable to visit - except on one occasion - a group thought it was ok to swear loudly every sentence - not acceptable to other customers trying to have a nice evening - they were approached by a member of staff but it altered nothing so we left.

I was taken as a treat by my daughter, we both had sunday lunch paid an extra £1 for a bit of all meat it looked nice them moved the 1st slice out of the way and it was just a rind of fat with rind on both plates took ages to cut it all off all in all very disapointed and nobody asked us if the meal was ok that is why the post on here and not in person .

Congratulations to Bridie and her team, on catering for a very special traditional Spanish wedding. Catering for every little detail asked of them. End result was a superbly incredible wedding.The food was delicious and the gravy and cheese cake just so tasty. Coffee made to special request and table service effecient and friendly. Overall highly recommend for that perfect occasion. Thank you for fulfilling all our extra requests on the day too. Will be coming along now to taste more of the daily menu.

We visited the pub purposely to eat, we ordered our food and waited about thirty minutes for it to arrive, all four meals that were ordered were delicious, the staff were pleasant and very helpful, they also have a well Stocked gin pantry, got to try my first violet gin which was lovely, we will definately be visiting again. A big well done to the chef.

Visited here at the weekend me and partner came for food we had the Barn pie and a steak cooked to perfection! The service was top notch! Fantastic to see this pub busy again! Highly recommend beautiful function room perfect for any occasion.

My self and a couple of friends came for food a couple of weeks ago and I had the pasta bake with added chicken and cheese on top it was delicious , a friend of mine had the barn pie and it looked and smelt gorgeous, the staff are very welcoming and comforting and we will be returning and I will be recommending to my family and people who live around the area!!

I had my baby shower here in October as the venue really is lovely. We went with the buffet option for this. We loved how you are allowed it pin things up etc in order to decorate. It really was a lovely day.

Traditional pub food on the menu, all cooked well and very tasty.

The service was first class,the food was excellent and very good value for money. We will definitely visit again.

The first thing I noticed was the lovely warm rooms - not easy to achieve on a cold December evening. The atmosphere was equally good, even though the pub was not full. The staff were great and anything we asked for was not too much trouble. The only negative point was that there were not enough staff on and we did have to wait a little longer than expected for our food to arrive.

Parents chose here based on numerous visits by the family in smaller groups. They spoke to someone there in the month prior who advised that due to the small kitchen and it being a table for 11 it would be helpful to them and us that we order food in advance so that it could be ready at a reasonable time around the time of arrival.

We always vist the manor barn when we have family down from Scotland. We know it will always be a fabulous meal. Staff are always so nice and accommodating.

Visited here today for a family meal at around 6:30/7pm. The pub had a really good atmosphere and the staff we spoke to were very friendly.

We went into Manor Barn in the hopes of finding a venue for our engagement party and have ended up booking our wedding venue here too! Both the downstairs (where we are having our engagement party) and the upstairs (where we are having the wedding reception) are beautiful. The best thing about it is Bridie is so welcoming and helpful, I know that both days are going to run smoothly :-)

Visited on a Sunday with family and friends and we weren't disappointed.

I would like to congratulate Bridie and all her team for the perfect Wedding Reception for our Daughter and Son in law. From the very first meeting with Bridie she couldn't do enough to help us with the arrangements. She was very friendly, professional and had lots of suggestions. The day it's self was wonderful. The venue was perfect and was beautifully dressed with our own arrangements by Gemma from Wedding Wish. Gemma was recommended to us by Bridie and nothing was too much trouble, Great menu choice and both the sit down meal and evening buffet were plentiful and tasty.

Decided to try this place after reading the good reviews on here but the Sunday roast was very disappointing.Beef was like shoe leather, gravy was thin, too many potatoes and not enough vegetables and whole thing had a "school dinners" vibe about it.Given all the good reviews maybe the regular chef was off but wouldn't risk coming again.

Went for the 1st time and OMG the meat and potato pie was amazing. So tasty and no fatty bits on the meat. Came with chips n peas (mushy or garden). my daughter had spaghetti Bolognese which came with garlic bread and she said hers was really nice too. The cost was reasonable too. I will definitely be returning. Excellent service polite staff gorgeous food and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a trip.

I attended my friend's baby shower at the Manor Barn & it was excellent! They had a good selection of cakes, scones & treats on tiered plates with vintage style cups & teapots. I thought it was a great idea to have a water urn on the bar with teabags so after the initial tea pot was done you could refill at your own pace! It meant we were all fully replenished & the staff weren't running around filling teapots all day! I would definitely recommend!!
