Good home cooked food style pub typical of Green King. A bit disappointing for me as full list of ingredients for menu items not available. (Uncommon intolerance limits my choice)

Absolutely terrible!!! Came on Mother’s Day and asked to pre order a Sunday dinner to come out for 12pm to be told they couldn’t guarantee it would be out for 12 (which was fine, picked something else from the menu) to then going in today Sunday at 2pm they have run out of Sunday lunches… I mentioned this had happened twice to be told to come on earlier if we want a Sunday lunch! Terrible that on Sundays you’ve run out by 2pm.

Today was a shambles took 45 minutes to get our meal ordered on app. Two items of food missing so had to ask twice for it. Had to ask twice from our dessert. A lot of people were complaining at the time! Won’t return in a hurry.

Mother’s Day breakfast. Lovely warm , friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. Good breakfast just took a while but it was very busy and worth the wait when it came. Often call in for breakfast- can’t beat it 😊

We have had lovely food. But after being here over 4 hours, not once as any staff been and collected our empty glasses from the table. Not acceptable.

Came here after a bed experience with sir Jack's maddie and Meg was so helpful they went above and beyond to help us out these two members of staff are a credit to your organisation

Very, very noisy, busy. Good selection of mainly keg beers. Lots of average quality cocktails. Plenty of seating, inside and out. Free car park. Right on a bus route.

Amazing pub food compliments to the chef

Ist time visiting this pub came highly recommended for the food unfortunately arrived at 1 spent 20mins at bar waiting to order only 1 person on bar eventually a young lady took our order and I paid by card only to be told we would have to wait 1and a half hrs for our food! I said we couldn't wait that long and really we should have been told how long the waiting time was to cap it all no one knew how to refund my money onto my card so eventually they had to give me cash not a very good impression made!!

Did a bottomless brunch for the first time here , with Katie as our host and she was AMAZING ! So happy friendly and chatty she made the experience great , the pub was great with a happy carefree atmosphere , clean facilities and all round great pub

Breakfast with Santa, Grandson loved it, ate all his brekkie too. Both Santa and the Elves worked hard

Came here for Christmas dinner and was very impressed with the food! Lasagne was gorgeous and my vegetarian friend loved her pulled mushroom chilli!

Food was good staff was friendly just to noisy

This place offers great food. Whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian, there are options to choose from. The food arrived at the table nice and hot. The waitress service is very good, and they check that you are enjoying your meal after a few minutes of starting to eat. There are plenty of wines , beers , cocktails, and soft drinks to cater for all tastes. There is plenty of space in the bar, and there are entrances and parking for disabled people. Prices are fair, and you get a good standard of food and service for your money.

Slow service no inter action with the staff. Didn't eat. Saturday lunchtime noisy ok atmosphere. The attitude seems to you lucky to be in here, rather than Welcome.

We called in for snacks and ordered 3 dishes from the menu , halloumi fries, pulled pork tacos, chicken strips . The food came quickly and was presented beautifully. Very tasty and fresh . The staff are so friendly and helpful and happy to respond to any request gorgeously ďcorated pub with quirky pictures on the walls .comfy seating and the ladies toilets ,importantly spotless

Didn't really plan to eat here but as nothing else open in wickersley on a Monday night decided to give it a go. Really pleasantly surprised at the choice and quality on offer, particularly recommend the tacos! Service was great too 👍

Spot on place. Atmosphere is brilliant and its outside areas are beaut in the summer. Plenty of screen all around the pub if you’re a sports fan.

Visited for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. One of us had the beef and Ale pie, it was absolutely huge with loads of Brocolli. It was very tasty and the ale really shone through but there wasn't a great deal of meat and it was fairly fatty meat. The pastry was lovely. It was a proper pie and I woukd try the chicken one next time. The other person had hunters chicken and again a good portion and very high quality. I would go again.

Always loved calling in Masons for nice drink and food, but what has happened to the menu. Very limited and gone are most of my favorites. Prices obviously gone up too. Very disappointed

Lovely brunch . Avocado and egg on crumpets with hollandaise sauce. Big mug of fresh ground coffee. Great value

On Thursday 25/05/2023 ,me and my family had a meal in mason arm wickesley,everything was going well,me and my boy playing pool table and eating. I had asked for chips and fish and peas,but found a plastic which I thing is from this plastic lunch boxes.i checked if it was a bone from by bending it sever6times but it was plastic,big plastic.we told our service girl and she was helpful by explaining to some one,either might be a cook. The girl came back and said she was told it's a bone from fish.i had bend it several times and if it was a bone,it could have cracked ,it was plastic. So please take care when you store this food in tapawear on in zip plastic bags,as the old tapawear cracks or the zipper falls in the food and you cant recognize quickly as the team in that kitchen might be so busy. Anyway still love the Mason,but for now give you 3 stars because of that. Regards john

Nipped in for a quick dinner but had to sit outside because the horse racing was on. Staff were friendly and food came quickly, of the quality and amount we would expect. Patio heaters made this a really nice experience sitting outside. Dog friendly and good service despite how busy it was.

I had a salad as a main with a side of a small jacket potato and cheese, slightly disappointed with the salad as it only had four items, mixed leaves a plenty, a few small pieces of cucumber and tomato and plenty of peppers mixed,there was also what tasted like a shop bought salad dressing

Definitely changed over the years and better for it. Plenty of screens for the sport to be played on. Decent selection of drinks and good food at reasonable rates. The aesthetics are modern and cosy yet the place is open and spacious. Really enjoyed the place

A long time since I've been in the Masons, it's much improved, quite friendly excellent service, coffee and a good selection of beers.

Went for work drinks and tea, tables were quickly cleaned and put together for us. Food was prompt and service was good.

Professional and good experience

The chair my partner was sat on lost part of the back support. The lady from behind the bar was straight away there making sure he was ok and changing his seat. It was lovely to see that she was concerned and acted fast to put things right. Coffee and food was available l wish we could have stayed for a meal but we were there to pick something up. It was quite full and the people all seemed very satisfied with the service provided. The toilets were lovely and clean, the main part of the pub was also well kept. There were massive tvs everywhere so if there are any events to do with sports that would be the place to be.

Staff are really nice and the food was excellent

Great pub. Clean and lovely decor. Staff are always friendly, food is always great. They have TVs around the place if you want to watch sports. An area inside you can sit at with dogs. In the nicer weather they have a large outdoor seated area too.

Worst pub in the village now, dirty toilets, average food, staff a bit hit n miss, poor selection of real ales. Last visit - No milk for coffees when there is a shop less than 5 minutes away? Cocktails on pumps all lit up but told, not available and they havent ordered them in for ages? Only positive is that it's dog friendly.

Went with my family a few nights ago for dinner and really enjoyed it. Good menu with lots of choice and a nice atmosphere

Lovely welcoming pub, nice decor friendly staff. I was with my friend and my daughter we all had food, I ordered the 2 for £13.99 with my daughter, she had the Lasagne which she enjoyed and looked nice. I ordered the fish and chips, although I didn't enjoy that at all, the fish was very greasy, as cut into it lots of grease you could see. Would definitely go to the pub again but would have something else if I was to eat, my friend was happy with her meal.

Worked from here today before a meeting and experienced genuine customer service of the highest level from a young lady called emma...the way she knew her customers,made you feel welcome and looked after in a way that someone would a grandparent i.egenuine care was amazing to witness..the food was excellent and very filling...

Clean quiet at 11.30 polite staff in good order. In my opinion look at the state of the gents toilets and you will get a good idea of how the establishment is, very good 👍

Pub is nicely done out now, but beer was expensive. Over £15 for 3 pints of neck oil, but choice was good.

Great place for a good sesh if a bit pricy

Lovely refurbished but should have included the guttering fall pipe in the outside seating area... Water was running down the outside of the fall pipe and water was streaming down the floor into the seating area.

Left without been served same as the gentleman that should have been served before me, staff have no idea how a bar works, look up take note of faces and serve the next one in order, if they don't know ask who's next, simples

Nice decor shame about the f....... & blinding language that is not addressed

Thought we’d give the food another try after the refurb. We were told it was an hour wait… two meals came out after 1 hour 35 minutes, and the next two meals came out 15 minutes later, 1 hour 50 minutes after ordering. Too long a wait on food, and the experience was ruined as we didn’t eat together, despite telling staff when we ordered the meals on two separate bills that they were for the same table. The lasagne was average, and my friend’s hunters chicken was cold when it came out. Also had to query why I was being charged £2 more for the same glass of wine I’d had earlier in the evening - not the first time this has happened here. The decor looks fresh and will continue to come here for weekend drinks, but wouldn’t come back for food.

After a much needed refit the pub is now a lovely place to come. The staff are as friendly and welcoming as always. If you are put off by past reputations I’d recommend you give it another go. Decor is lovely and layout of the pub works much better. It’s dog friendly, by saying this I should clarify, it’s not just dog friendly it welcomes dogs with fresh water, dog treats and love. Just been refurbished (Aug 22) and is all the better for it. Inside is bright and a tad different and a pleasant place to be for a drink or meal. Food range and prices are good and it was quite busy when we went so clearly popular. Drink prices are reasonable and good range. Toilets clean and fresh with a new tendy design. Usually only been in the evening but did enjoy our lunch there and would recommend.

Absolutely lovely place too eat the staff are so friendly and helpful can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much everyone

4/08/2022 and The Masons open after a well over due refurb. What a change! Classy modern pub. Out does the rest of wickersley. Finally got some good premium lagers in and still cheaper than other places. Not only has it had an effect on the atmosphere but the change in the staffs attitude was great aswell. Looking forward to seeing it grow over the coming months. Great job to the team there. See you soon.
