This is an average place to go and eat out. Clean and tidy. Child friendly. Dog friendly. Food is okay, but it could be better. All in all, I endorse this business.

Came out for dinner for Auntys Birthday, Aunty and Grandma ordered Fish chips and mushy peas, they said the food was spot on and very tasty and cooked to perfection just the way they like it. Mum Ordered the lasagne, she said it was delicious and she enjoyed it. I ordered the Home run burger which was tasty. Big shout out to the Chefs Russ and Mark who always cooks the food to perfection. The pudding we had was delicious too. Will definitely be back soon and highly recommend it to friends and family 😀

Excellent service from Rob, very chatty and found time to talk before meal came. Mam and sister really enjoyed fish, chips and mushy peas. My lasagne was tasty and Reece enjoyed his burger. Puddings were excellent too. Big shout to the chefs, Russ & Mark for excellent food. Definitely recommend and come again. 😁

Waited 40mins for food, after being overcharged for a meal deal, then got charged the right amount, NO APOLOGY, asked for a refund for the time it took, but was rejected, and the Lager didn't taste right, but in this place the customer is always wrong, Very poor experience, and certainly won't be going there again, and neither will my friends and family, The staff in this poorly run establishment need to realise that customers pay their wages, instead the customer is treated like rubbish by them, Also food vas very poor, The most positive thing about this place was leaving, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

We came on Saturday 9th March as a family of 9 for a mother's day treat the staff are absolutely fantastic always happy and friendly even when ordering 4 cocktail pitchers 😅 Food is always on point never had a bad meal yet and we will continue to make our visits regularly

Been tonight for my daughters bday. It's about 8th time we ve been n there s usually about 13 of us. 11 tonight. We ve never had a bad meal, it's great value for money and the staff are lovely, can't do enough for you.

Brilliant service from Nicole and Emily. I have given the atmosphere a 4 due to the music being very quiet, just needs to be a bit louder. I think a games and Karaoke night might be a good option to bring more custom. Otherwise we had a lovely time.

Came for dinner with mum and brother before starting work. Food was excellent, well cooked, hot and excellent portion size. We had the freebie as it was freebie Thursday. I had the super special chicken new yorker with chicken strips with chili sauce (my favourite). My mum and brother had the lasagne with garlic bread, they both enjoyed it and was very tasty. The latte my mum had was perfect as it was steaming hot the way she likes it. The cokes we're served with the perfect serve. We were served by Rachel who demonstrated excellent customer service skills and made sure check back was done to ensure everything was ok with our food. Would definitely recommend to other friends and family and I will definitely be visiting again and I will be taking up the new offer of buy one get one free on breakfasts very shortly too.

This pub is brilliant for families and they always cater to our needs very well! I had a mix it up and was very well cooked and presented! Was good value as it was only 8 pound as we came on a Tuesday! Staff always helpful and nothing is too much trouble! Will be back again!

Just called in for lunch we both had chicken strips on a sizzle plate that didn't sizzle so the veg underneath was raw no butter for jacket potatoes and onion rings cold asked if everything was ok as food was put on table waste of money won't be back in a hurry

Limited drinks available and the order was wrong. Food wasn’t great! 4 burgers dripping in grease and 3 missing bacon. Steak was overcooked, and sizzlers had never seen a sizzle. One corn on the cob was actually still frozen, it set the butter rather than melt it.

Nice pub, service wasn't the best. Staff in joggers/ gym legging seem strange uniform.

Turned up without a booking over the weekend, it wasn’t a problem even though members of the party had mobity issues, the front of house staff were very friendly, the menu was varied something to suit everyone taste. The kitchen team led by Gary & Russ did a superb job, the food was delicious!! We will definitely be returning thanks guys!

Fabulous experience at lunch time with the family . Food was lovely .All staff and especially Lauren made us all feel very welcome -and was lovely in providing water and blue roll for my 8 year old son, so he could play with his colour changing car. Thank you once again.

Went to Riverside with my family and the food was amazing Rob the manager and Lauren a team leader went above and beyond with my family especially my mum who has terminal cancer they moved us to a table away from the door as my mum felt cold and the food was cooked to perfection especially the steak we had. Thankyou so much we'll definitely be returning ☺️

Went here a few days ago, nic looking pub, decent food and fairly priced. One of chefs (Russ) looked like he was ready to have a fight at any second, but upon chatting to him and the bar staff apparently this is his standard look and he is known for this. He was actually polite and good to chat to. Knowledgeable about food due to dietary requirements. Bar staff were polite and friendly and seemed happy to be at work unlike some other pub chain restaurants. Price was good, better with blue light discount 😂. Thanks for a good and memorable visit and will visit Spain soon with boxing gloves at the ready 🤣🤣

Rob and his team were amazing! They went above and beyond to ensure everything was as it should be. Rob took our booking with just over 1 weeks notice for a party of 38! Nothing was too much trouble, the food was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent! Thank you Rob & team.

Good food and good deals. Since the first review, we have been to the Riverside a number of times. We've enjoyed buy one get one free on Friday burgers and attended twice in December, the second time with a larger party. As ever, food is top quality. All plates cleared during each visit. Arrived and welcomed at the bar area, seated quickly with drinks and casually grazed the menu. All 9 of us placed our orders, shortly after these were brought out by a lovely service assistant. I LEAVE IT THERE. FOOD rated at what you would describe...

We visited today for a little work get together. The bubbly young waitress couldn’t do enough for us and her photography skills were top notch too. Portion size of our starters, main and pudding were huge definitely value for money.

I have been here today for a staff Christmas meal. Our table was booked for 13:00, all meals pre ordered, at gone 13:30 we had to ask for starters, all arrived with delays in between, there were only 9 of us! Main meal, where do I start! . X1 main meal missed out. . The Christmas meal was absolutely disgusting! Rock hard yorkshire puds, watery roast potatoes, rock hard sprouts, and peas! . Veg burger - rock hard burger and bun! Over cooked chips. Dessert. . Mince pie bakewell, rock hard and inedible. Service was extremely slow, so much so that some of us had to take our desserts with us as we were late! I will definitely not be coming back, and I will be writing a letter of complaint. Three colleagues and I have a grumbling stomach, which says it all! Thank you for ruining our annual Christmas meal!

Found the Riverside by chance, and glad i did, the food was really good, tasted so nice, i went back the next day for another meal, and again it was very nice, great value, polite and friendly staff, would highly recommend.

Visited lunchtime 19th October, manager and staff extremely friendly upon walking in, which is always nice. Enjoyed various meals here over the years, and this day was no exception. One thing to note though, the dipping portion of gravy that came with the chicken burger really was small. Tiny! I was initially disappointed, but the burger being juicy compensated. Both meals nice and warm, so you can consume at your leisure. Also, thank you to the friendly waitress and chef, who packaged up the dessert so we could take it home. Generous portion and much appreciated by our son. Well done everyone x

Overall a lovely meal here at the Riverside. Wide selection of food and drinks to choose from and to top it off the staff were super friendly and professional. The manager Rachel was very knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for us. 😄

Came in a couple of days ago (28th of oct) rude member of staff that I believe her name is Nicole, her name came up on the till and on the receipt, spend most of her shift on the bandit with customers and swearing with them even the duty manager told her multiple times to come off and stay on her the bar, she showed no acknowledgement of doing anything the manager said and rolled her eyes and carried on. She gave off an attitude that showed she didn't want to be there or do anything, kept saying to the customers in the bar area about not going to her probation, which I didn't really want to hear whilst I was eating food which made me feel uneasy on what sort of place employs people like this when it is supposed to be a family friendly pub? Me and my family will not be returning any time soon.

This was our first visit but not a very enjoyable experience. Pub was very clean & tidy though. Ordered 4 meals The two gravy burgers had no gravy on them both even though it states on the menu that the burger has gravy on it as well as a pot extra for dipping when we asked for some more gravy we were told we would have to pay for it. Also upgraded to salt & pepper fries on one but got plain fries the young waitress took the plate back to the kitchen and you could see that they had just sprinkled seasoning over the top of the existing fries. Didn't get a very encouraging response when we mentioned it Hoping it's just a one off.

Lovely food, staff friendly and helpful. Nicole who served us went out of her way to make sore we were happy.
