Lovely ambience and friendly staff. Small fish and chips was absolutely massive but very tasty. My wife's beef and ale pie with seasonal veg and chunky chips also huge but very tasty! Shame we couldn't eat it all. An excellent place for midweek lunch, and obviously to the taste of lots of other diners.

Me and my husband went for the first time today heard good things about the beehive really good food and service back there next Saturday looking forward to it.

Great food with big portions the steak and ale pie is delicious.

Not from here was just looking for a quick munch, food was great, atmosphere was quiet but took a while to get served Had the burger with pork was very nice! Onion rings were nice and crispy as well

a table for ten was booked in advance. still have plent tables available when we arrived 1pm. the ordered meals were good except small fish and chips. the batter wasn't crispy and same as chips. the thai curry was delicious. we arrived 12:50pm on Friday, planty of empty tables. the free hi fi was not working. the menu was comprehensive and including mussels and thai current dishes., meals were in generous portion and were delicious.after meal, the cake and coffee £6.75 should be consider.

Yesterday 2nd Sept me and my 2 friends came for a meal at 1pm. We ordered from the lunch menu, firstly the young girl overcharged me thought I wanted the vegetable pasta of the main menu even though I did say lunch menu. Then when it came it was really runny lots of liquid after mentioning this the girl too it back to the kitchen when she brought it back my friends had already just about eaten there meals. Also on the menu it said it comes with garlic bread which I didn't recieve. I don't like complaining but we had met up for my friends birthday. She also mentioned her chips was really greasy.

We have been here twice now. First was a few weeks ago for my daughter’s A-level results. We were a party of 8. It was a nice visit and despite the sever being new and having to deal with a party of 8 he did just fine and the food was good. Todays visit for our wedding anniversary was not so great. We had decided to come here based off our positive experience a few weeks before. This time only 4 of us. They had obviously forgotten my son’s pizza as this arrived at the table later - minus the French fries. We didn’t mention this though. The issue was that it seemed under cooked. The base was quite doughy. They had also forgotten our side of onion rings which I had to ask for. These came out later and straight away you could tell that they too were undercooked from just the colour (or lack of) and the raw taste inside was further confirmation. I would much rather they just apologised and told us there will be a wait, rather than bring out poorly cooked food. Also my wife’s burger, despite being over £20, was very ‘gritty’ in the middle. Overall, the prices are quite reasonable and the restaurant is pleasant and clean the quality of the food though is variable.

Loved our visit to the Beehive. We visited for Sunday lunch and our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies as we ordered starter and roast dinner each. Once the starters came and we saw the generous portion we realised we would probably be rolling home and needing a nap. 🤣 definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

This pub came with great expectations but fell short... We arrived on a Sunday but ordered their pie of the day (steak n ale, after hearing it was the best around) I think the chef / kitchen staff were more interested in the Sunday roast as the pie had been reheated and burnt around the edges..

Absolutely unbelievable food that was definitely worth every penny. I can’t stress enough how good the kebabs were and my friend wouldn’t shut up about his ribs off of the specials. (the best he’d had yet apparently)Service is amazing with the most polite, kind and helpful staff, our waitress, short blond girl with a black shirt, was extremely helpful and was always quick to anyway requests and just the sweetest girl. The barmen were also especially helpful and polite, the tall brown haired barman with the black shirt and the slightly shorter but more attractive blonde barman with the fancy shoes. The whole restaurant is kept so clean and is just a warm welcoming environment.

If you can't get the right potatoes to turn into triple cooked chips... Just use frozen. There's no shame in it and at least it provides a consistent product and not a bowl of soggy, greasy mess like I got earlier. Also the sauce for the fish curry required more depth of flavour, it tasted a bit like a tin of the homepride curry sauce. Apart from that the gammon was very nice and the Nachos were outstanding.... It's a 4 from me.

We booked last minute for my husbands birthday online there wasn't a table big enough so I booked two separate tables which meant a small time difference in sittings I contacted these guys and there was no issues at all the re jigged there seating around so we could have a table to seat us all at the same time so so friendly when we arrived pub and the atmosphere was amazing such a friendly nice place we were shown to our table and the waitress JESS who served us all night with our food was lovely such a nice girl and friendly nothing was too much trouble we placed our orders which consisted of the katsu chicken curry chicken gyros and the pie wow it was the best food we have had eating out everything was cooked to perfection very fresh very tasty I was just gutted I didn't choose the pie but I will be back for that not an ounce of fat or gristle in it it was just beautiful tasty food then we had desserts they were so nice and told us what was available as it was late ish by the time we ordered those but they didn't disappoint either chocolate fudge cakes and chocolate brownies pure heaven drinks were nice too there just isn't anything we could moan or grumble at at all we were really happy and our belly's were full when we left we can't wait to return I can't recommend this place enough to people you really need to go if you've not been before for food

One of party got food poisoning . Contacted them and very dismissive saying no other cases . Since found out there were several others . No sympathy or offer of compensation for missed work etc

After eating here , within a couple of hours my relative became violently sick . Rang to report suspected food poisoning , no return call until next day . Was told no other cases , very dismissive and no apology or compensation . Since discovered other diners did have same affects and whilst they are aware of this they still did nothing

i came here for the second time yesterday with my partner after i really enjoyed the food the first time. He ordered the fish and chips and after about 3 hours he became extremely ill with food poisoning we contacted the restaurant and staff seemed too smug to care. No compensation was given as “no one else got ill “ .

Went to beehive for a wake, food they put on was lovely & didn't bring it out until all the people was there, so it wasn't stood in a warm room.

Nice place to sit outside. Always clean and tidy. Pleasant bar staff. Car parking can get be difficult at busy times, especially if you own one of those ridiculous giant cars 😄.

A group of 6,we arrived whilst a England match was being played. We were shown straight to our reserved table where a drinks order was taken. Shortly afterwards they took our food order. Despite being very busy our food was soon delivered to the table. The sizzling prawn starter was amazing. Between us we ordered different meals and none were disappointed. Main courses followed the same pattern, one word of caution, if you order the pie dish you won't need a starter. Great food, great service and a very enjoyable evening. We will be back

Starters was very nice and that’s where it ended ! Pie was ok but sat in a massive bowl of gravy leaving the massive fat chips sat in it going soggy , the veg was under cooked I like mine nice and crunchy but these was raw , the lasagne was very bland and the mince smelled sour , it came on a red hot plate so the salad had wilted and the bread was rock hard ! This was pointed out and knocked off the bill! Shame as only heard good reports of this place yet to find it very underwhelming will I return ? No , such a shame I think you would have got a better meal for half the price from a well known food chain !

So I booked in for the wife's birthday, table for 10 people, The place was buzzing inside and outside. Absolutely packed. The atmosphere was brilliant. The service was fantastic and the food is next level. Absolutely delicious the Ribeye was cooked to perfection. The wait on the mains was an hour but the place was so busy, and we were happy chatting and drinking to notice. The price was cheaper than expected we had meals Puddings and drinks and it was worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

I cannot fault absolutely 1 thing from this place, it's our favourite place to eat food is divine service is brilliant and it's impeccably clean. You will not be disappointed

Ordered Starters & Main meal for 5 people including 2 x Seabass fishcakes which were overdone such that they were very dark brown with a definite burnt taste. Occasion being my wife's birthday, we didn't complain. Mains arrived but each dish had certain issues.... Son-in-law had a chicken on pasta dish that he immediately said was dry congealed & tasteless. He began his meal unwilling to spoil the evening with a complaint but quickly explained the problem to the waitress who took the dish back to the kitchen, returning to tell him there was no alternative but she would not charge for the meal. My pie was typical pub-grub save for the thin tasteless gravy. The service was fine & staff courteous. Atmosphere was pleasant. It was just the quality of the cooking that was unacceptable. Clearly, the chef was overwhelmed by a very busy evening & the result was a spoiled birthday treat for my wife. When we declined the dessert menu, the waitress returned in seconds with the bill. Needless to say, we will not return. Such a shame.

The food and service was excellent, wonderful ambience in a country setting. We were visiting from Canada and were very impressed with our waitress Anna whose demeanour was exceptional and welcoming and her goal was our complete satisfaction and she achieved her goal in spades. We will definitely visit The Bee Hive on our next trip to the UK. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant ……. especially if we are fortunate enough to have the service of Anna. Thanks to all staff and the chef.

The Beehive is our local , its a lovely place 😊 Ate there last night and the Pie was even better , and the chips to die for . We haven't been in a while and I did notice that the prices have gone up , but I guess they have everywhere , But very enjoyable , good service too . Went home very full 😂

First time visit, came highly recommended and it was worth it. Came for mine and my son's birthday. Service and food was very good. The chocolate brownie for afters was gorgeous. It's a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for and it was definitely worth it, thank you

Really lovely meal, we arrived a few minutes later than our booking but they kindly accommodated us. Service was spot on and the food was delicious, highly recommend the prawn hanging kebab. Lovely atmosphere for a mid-week night out.

Decided to try the beehive because we had heard good things unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Firstly I had to leave some of my chicken because it had traces of pink in some of the meat. My wife's steak pie was obviously microwaved and the temperature varied greatly she left most of it. We ordered a refill drink and they brought the wrong one which we let go because they were busy. When we told a member of staff he apologised and that was that no one else got back to us.

Beehive in Harthill - The food is delicious, the service is impeccable. A special thanks to Mike for being a legend. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

Popped in here for my birthday lunch as my wife had heard good things about it, the rumours were true, the place is lovely and clean, staff very attentive and the food was amazing. Will definitely return.

Food was really good but a little overpriced for a village pub, £16.95 for sunday dinner. Fair selection of real ales but no Camera discount. Both thus the 4 stars.

Went again to the beehive today staff are really friendly and all to happy to help food was amazing as always would throughly recommend it's a real gem of a place cannot fault it in any way. Parking is ample and really large spaces outside area is clean and well maintained. Cannot wait to go again.

Excellent food, service was great once our order was taken. Had a hungry 3 year old and was nearly 30 mins until our order was taken. I only marked down one for this as after this it was perfect! Will come back again

Writing this on behalf of my parents and their friends They visited yesterday after a previous visit several years ago, which they enjoyed. However, yesterday’s experience was the polar opposite. Several complaints including: Loads of pepper on the chips which made their mouth numb. Why? Dry chicken breast on the hanging kebab, which was sent in error anyway as they wanted a prawn kebab - the menu was very misleading and nobody asked. The pie wasn’t great - the meat was chewy and the chips were hidden under the veg, but in a pool of gravy which made them all soggy. Yuk. The redeeming factor was that the Katsu curry was actually good. They were very busy, which meant there was a lot of waiting, yet there were several staff members just hanging around the door when they left, and no one said goodbye or anything. If you go by the principle of eating out should be as good as, or better than you’d eat at home, then this isn’t the place for you. The young waiter was good and polite, but there was a general lack of customer service and the whole experience felt like The Beehive was just living off its past reputation, which it no longer deserves, if yesterday’s visit is anything to go by. It’s pricey too.

Food is always delicious, service is great, asking if you want more drinks or if you need anything else. Food is homemade and high quality ingredients, the beef in the homemade pies is cooked perfectly and melts in the mouth. Pie, roast and lasagne were eaten by us that day, and all was amazing. Highly recommend.

Ordered food in advance for a party of 30+ so you would think we would get everything we ordered that was on the menu. Not just one thing missing on my plate but 3. Told the staff waited but it never arrived. Very disappointing. I wasn't the only one.

Been today for lunch with my sister and brother in law We all had a really nice time food was nice and staff really nice and friendly and were happy to adapt the menu too suit our dietary needs. We had a get-together after 23 years! This place was central for us four couples to travel to. The whole afternoon was marvellous.

Absolutely superb. The best ever pork belly slices, I've had. The mussels were sublime. Highly recommended. We'll definitely go again.

Haven`t been here for a while due to horrendous road closures/roadworks in the area. Tonight, there were still 2 sets of roadworks just outside the village, but nothing serious. The food and service tonight was excellent. Apparently, they have a new chef, but the quality was as good as ever and FAST. Keep it up, guys, and we`ll be regulars once more.

Superb dinner, extremely happy I came across this lovely looking village pub. Beautiful kept place, modern yet keeping this warm feeling of a countryside pub. Service is very young but professional, always smiling and educated. I came here for the food and it did deliver. Super generous portions at a very honest price. I had the steak pie, very beefy. Good quality and 100% homemade. I hope to have a chance to come back in the future.

Food was lovely but service and attitude was not! Booked for 5.30pm told on arrival that table only available for 2 hours. No mention of this on booking or in email confirmation. At 6.55pm waiter came and said they needed the table walked away. I informed him we had until 7.30pm if it was 2 hours. He went and checked and said he got it wrong. At 7.20pm he came and put the bill on the table then 1 minute later his colleague asked how we were paying. We paid by 7.25pm. At 7.29pm another waiter came over and told us they now needed the table. We felt this was all very rude and that they were desperate to get rid of us! We have eaten here quite a few times before and never had this experience. It was very rude and unwelcoming.

Fabulous food and thoughtful, attentive staff. We really enjoyed our meals - the portions are great value and there's lots of choice on the main menu, with additional specials too. We will definitely go back.

Lovely pub and decor. Service excellent. Wine good. Pie was excellent. Not so sure about the deep fried battered pork fat served as a crispy belly pork starter. I would give that a wide berth.

We had a family get together for my daughter emigrating ,we had the pie chips and peas buffet it was the best pie 40 of us have ever had the service was above and beyond ,I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of holding a venue there .Thankyou for your great food and hospitality kerry marris from whitby

went for dinner Saturday night really disappointed with the standard of the food served. Started with prawn cocktail which was very bland and had very little sauce on it and served with white bread that wasn't very good then had fish and chips which was a disaster chips were greasy and the fish batter was so undercooked that it was inedible. We have been here for food on several occasions and it has always been very good but not this time and we won't be going back any time soon. I have given it two stars because the service was very good.

Nice old pub good range of beers

Terrible service. Sat us in the dog section, whilst we were having a meal, with a non-stop barking dog and when complaints were given they said they were unable to do anything. Didn’t even speak to the owner of the dog as it was a staff friend. No customer service skills whatsoever.

The portions are big, but food is tasteless

Amazing! The lobster ravioli is a revelation and a triumph. Luxurious and indulgent. The best plate of food we have eaten in years. The taste, texture and quality outstanding. Thank you so much. The service, as always, attentive and friendly.

LARGE FAMILY PARTY [25] ALL AGES, Venue moved our party from our original seating booking at the last meeting, however the place was clean the menu was comprehensive, Food arrived at different times for our group so we could not all start together, would have been nice if a staff member had come over and asked to fill a drinks order, the food was excellent, lots of it and hot the staff were very busy and looked stressed, but smiley and helpful,.. We did not pre book a dessert, and no staff asked us if we wanted a pud, so most of us left without one,... overall good we would have our family party here again,

I was served gluten containing foods with a gluten free meal….just not good enough! Obviously they don’t take coeliac disease seriously…..if you are coeliac or have any allergies I would give the beehive a miss

Called in on the off chance for a table of 3. Was greeted very efficiently & seated. Had 2 starters, & 3 mains which were all absolutely outstanding. Very friendly staff & will definitely be returning .
