First time in this pub for a few years. Always a good cheap meal to be had and nothing has changed. Pleasant and clean pub and we three enjoyed the fish and chips. Pleasant staff and good tasting food. Well presented and the puddings were tasty, perhaps a bit pricey though. However an interesting experience and one we would perhaps repeat at a later date.

Another pub closed - I understand that there is no chance of it reopening and a lot of the pub equipment has gone. Such a shame as it was one of my favourite watering holes.

We ate here on a weekday evening and early in the evening due to commitments later in the evening The atmosphere in the pub is lovely and traditional in feel Then to the food...... We had 2 courses and both were exceptional. As a family we were all in awe of each others plates so there is no question that we will have to return on a regular basis Rachel's skill in the kitchen is undeniable serving up great food without being at all pretentious as some other pubs do and alongside the great atmosphere in the pub it makes for a great mid week treat.

I went with my 2 sons (16 & 23) for Sunday lunch. Food was great - all fresh produce. Service was great and there was even a young lady singing. All staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back!

Was delighted with this find! Lovely welcoming bar staff (and locals). The drinks were surprisingly cheap, and the food was amazing. So tasty with such a good variety. Will Definitely be coming here again!

We have just visited this pub for lunch, there were 6 of us, and we all really enjoyed our lunch, there were about 3 starter, 7 mains and 6 or so pudding to choose from. The staff are very welcoming and the food was served quickly and piping hot, there were at least 5 other table with people eating, we did book a table in advance as we have heard sometimes it is fully booked. We will be returning.

We have now been to the Mandeville Arms for 4 meals and thought that we should put a message on Trip Advisor so that other people can enjoy this fantastic village pub that has got it absolutely right. Really good wide menu with regular changes on the specials board. Best of all, consistent high quality meals, good portions and great staff. Highly recommended - need to go for the round table by the fire if you can!!

We were introduced to this pub by friends and we have passed on our excellent experience to other friends. who have since been there and thanked us for the advice. We are looking forward to our next visit, with some more friends. Hope it's not getting too popular to accommodate us!

We were 7 and the food arrived together and no one had any complaints. The fish and chips were a generous portion and well cooked. The cottage pie was good and the veg portions well cooked. The home made sweets were superb. I can recommend the roulade

Eight of us had dinner on a busy night when there was a private party in one area but the service was still good. No complaints on the food front and the 16 oz rump was very tender and everyone was cooked as ordered. I can highly recommend the duck, wild mushroom and port pudding, which is wrapped in a herby bread layer rather than pastry. Perfectly cooked veg & chips & the Belgian waffle looked amazing.

Excellent value for money food, with good hosts. Been twice in last two months and not disappointed. The only negative was that the smokers placed themselves either side of the door outside as we came away, a whiff of tobacco smoke was not ideal. Perhaps they could be asked to move along away from the door.

Hardington Mandeville is an ancient, pretty Somerset village on the slopes of a quiet valley with lovely far-reacing views, a fine church and a welcoming pub serving food and beer of excellent variety and price in comfortable surroundings The £5 pensioners lunch would be good value at twice the price. Beers include Young's Special of fond memory. Am returning for the Sunday lunch. Where else have you seen 28-day beef marked up as the roast?

We visited at lunch time and three of us gad the oap special which is £5 for two courses with a choice of 3 starters, five puddings and, I think 8 mains. all were generous portions of quality ingredients perfectly cooked. The result was delicious food. The bread crumbed prawns, a starter off the main menu were a very generous portion. Where was everybody. At this quality and value for money you would think it would be packed out

once a gastro pub that would have been delighted with a bank of 'trip' stars, now a good honest locals pub without even a proper web link or telephone number on this site. What do they care; they sell great beer and food at very reasonable prices and their reward is the happy punters crossing the threshold. Every village should have one-good on you Mandeville :))

Have to say the pub was nicely presented and clean. the Food was well cooked, although the steak i ordered medium rare came out slightly over cooked, Other than that there isnt a single fault to find with the food on all three of the meals that were ordered. The drinks were good and the landlady was very welcoming. All in all i would recommend this place.

We stayed at the hotel for one night, the room was clean and the breakfast was quite nice. The actual pub was a mess, very run down and depressing. We were booked for two nights but came home after the first day ...... would not recommend this hotel.

I go to Palmers restaurant every day with my buddy Mike, yesterday I had visitors from Stratford on Avon ex army mate and his wife, I brought them to Palmers for breakfast, ( which atm is half price ) anyway, after breakfast they just happened to mention that they thought the restaurant was bright, clean and cheery, and remarked how friendly the staff were, as they greeted me and them as we came in. The owners are often here and take time to speak to the customers, the manager Ben and his supervisor Ellie lead their team from the front, making a visit here a very enjoyable experience.

This place is always empty and always get turned away even when the restaurant is empty! When you do get a table the service is excruciatingly slow, with overpriced terrible food. The waiting staff always get the order wrong and are very unapologetic. Bad food, poor beer, overpriced and poor service

Celebrating a birthday lunch. The place is spotlessly clean and well laid out. The food was exceptional. From gnocchi to Steak and Ale pie thete was something for everyone. The people here are extremely helpful and pleasant and we were made to feel very welcome. Can't wait to return and try other items from the menu.
