Converted cinema. If you want a quick meal of adequate quality at a reasonable price then the 'spoons' delivers. We just use it for meals though others seem to enjoy the pub atmosphere with free sports TV. We don't hang around after we have eaten. Staff seem well trained and efficient.

Fish and chips plus a pint of Doom Bar.

Took along time for food to arrive, then had to wait for cutlery. It was very busy.

Located in the old cinema in Chard, it has a nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Always enjoy going here. Visited again last week and everything was just as good.

Appalled by the way in which the manager dealt with a minor discrepancy over the payment of a round of drinks, resulted in him using obscene language at a friend, avoid like the plague, JDW, rid yourself of such employees or lose more establishments.

Really good atmosphere, love the range of ales on during festival and the staff are very friendly and helpful

Food is always cold or burnt to a crisp. Chefs clearly don't know how to cook let alone show any pride in their job.

A decent ‘spoons. Food is cheap but you do kinda get what you pay for. Staff in this particular ‘spoons at the time of writing are great. Nice big outside area that gets the sun No dogs a per usual with this chain One major drawback is they don’t have many plug sockets, so not easy to come and work here in the day if that’s something you want to do, or to charge your phone if you’re running low.

It was a pleasant afternoon with a very nice large mix-grill

food was by far sub standard, 3 meals ordered which arrived in good time to be fair but all 3 meals were served cold to warm! steak and kidney pudding was lukewarm with warm chips, curry was hot but rice was stone cold and pretty much most of the brunch was cold to warm; supervisor was informed in a pleasant way and I suggested that for her own information that the kitchen should temperature probe the food before being served (as most things will be kept in a bain marie or warm cupboard) but my complaint was pretty much shrugged off. certainly would not recommend this place to eat until they make major improvements regarding food!!!

Very disappointed! Have eaten here a few times now and always been pleased with the food. However not today! We both had fish, chips and peas. They were really dry. I would imagine pre cooked and kept warm for some time. When I mentioned it to a passing member of staff, he simply said 'oh dear, that's a shame' and promptly walked off.

It still amazes me, that still, some places are just a golden nugget of Hospitality and Food Service around the South West like that place. My past more than thirty five years in the Hospitality/Hotel, Customer Service, Retail and commerce industries within France and as much, the USA the England, is discreetly but strongly known with the public sectors searching for some honest feedback on such services. It is always better to underpromise and overdeliver than the opposite: the Cerdic is a magical stopped (cinema vibes speaking) in time, as well as a calm and relaxing place, laced with an exceptional service and the cleaniless is out of this world. What a gem for Somerset! Merci for having been so welcoming and attentive: that felt like mindfulness within the food path!

It's a Poons, and not the best one. It does drinks and the usual Poons food, but don't expect much else.

Have been many times and have eaten every time, staff always polite and helpful. Usually not had to wait too long for food to arrive. Been to many Wetherspoons around the country and yes what you see is what you get, if you want 5* cordon bleu then obviously go elsewhere, but be prepared to pay lots of money for it.

First time visiting here. Lack of atmosphere and fairly bland decoration. Dull when for a Wetherspoon 'pub'. Service was quick but wow the guy who brought the food over was miserable, not a word just a fed up frown. Panini was tasty but tiny on a huge plate. I was nearby for work so only came here out of desperation and was as poor as expected.

Okay for a quick bite to eat, prices have gone up alot but everywhere seems to be the same lately. Standard of food has gone down hill lately. More expensive, less portions and not as much variety as there use to be. Hot chocolate is nice though when machine is working. And unlimited refills is a bonus of that!

We went for a drink and a Xmas meal. I went up to order my meal for myself and my husband, and I had trouble with the contactless payment. The bar person serving me had glasses and he was extremely rude to me and I nearly walked out. What a disgusting way to speak to a customer and his tone of voice. He was very very rude and I'm extremely annoyed, and I definitely will never have Xmas dinner or eat in there again. I feel like coming in to complain as I'm so annoyed with him. He was even rude when I was trying to put my card in. I suggest that u train Ur staff to have manners. The service when we went before was slow, no staff and also being ignored having to stand at bar. Unless I get an apology we will not be drinking in the cerderic or eating in the pub. I am extremely angry with this member of staff very rude and sycathstic. You need to get more staff and train them better. Myself and my husband will not be returning to the cerderic again. No staff, slow service and ignorant rude staff.

Service was quite quick and the servers were cheerful and friendly. The bar serves several ales which vary over time.

Called in on my tour of Spoons around the UK. Ordered on the app - Food ok, but forgot drink, had to ask for my drink to be brought out. Food came out quick.Decor is ok in bar area, looking tired elsewhere. Toilets fairly clean but graffiti in some cubicles. Overall impression - fairly forgettable and not one I'd revisit. But by no means the worst. One for the locals.. noisy in some areas.. at times felt like I was sitting in the 'Home" episode of the X-files...

Typical Wetherspoons in the heart of Chard town centre.was an old cinema and has kept some of it's old charm. Food and drinks are cheap and cheerful and food is what you would expect.

Decent wetherspoons with lower prices than usual (for the area)

Today we ordered southern fried wrap with no spicy mayo and it came with mayo still. Chips and gammon were luke warm. I get the concept of cheap food but if you pay for it you kind of expect some sort of food quality. I think whoever cooked tonight should be retrained or maybe it’s time for new staff with better attitude to their job!

Table was dirty on arrival and not cleaned Attitude of staff was horrific With a 4 and a 5 year old ,we had to wait nearly 50 minutes for our food, which when it arrived, was cold Will NEVER go there again

Wasn’t the greatest tbh, we ordered on the app and waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. Food was approx a 45 minute wait. When we got the food did not feel it was value for money and it was cold. I didn’t say anything as we were starving by the time we received it. Probably ok for a quick drink, if you order from the bar.

NOT GREAT. Ordered a breakfast and I was given a dirty cup. I asked for a clean one and I was told by the bar staff "what do you expect.... this is a weathrtspoons" I'd hate to see the state of there kitchen if that's there attitude and standards. She also started making sick noises at me when I ordered black pudding. Obviously a real classy sort of girl 🙄. Contacted customer service about it but just got some generic apology email. Probably best to give that one a miss

One of the members of staff was rude and had a vile tone towards the customers. He works night shifts and wears a greed lanyard, would go into more detail but he’s a monkey.

I never expect too much from a Wetherspoons, but this really broke the mould. I had the spicy chicken and chips and it was among the nicest chicken with ever had. I followed this with a fresh fruit and ice cream, and this proved to be mountainous and truly fresh My wife had one of the steak meals and the apple pie with custard, and that was of equal quality, and all this was at lunchtime during half term break. The service was a bit longer than anticipated, but it was well worth the weight and the staff were trying hard and a good bunch of people . I will try this again just to make sure it wasn’t a lucky fluke.. top marks

Absolutely awful, the waitress was so clumsy and incompetent, when we sat at the table my girlfriend asked her politely to clean the table where she purposely sprayed my girlfriend with the spray and thought it was funny to make a joke about it. When the food came out she spilt food all over my trousers, the table and the floor. After doing so she made jokes about it as if it wasn’t a big deal, she then continued to make jokes about it at the bar despite me being annoyed and embarrassed by the situation. I was left to eat my meal on my own while they remade my girlfriends meal which made it even more awkward. Her meal came back and was inedible, as they rushed to cook it. Overall this has been the worst experience at Wetherspoons and I wasn’t even expecting a lot. My expectations of Wetherspoons weren’t high but this was extremely low.

Lack of cleanliness and hygiene. Table and flooring where sticky. You you feel stickiness underfoot from the moment you walked in and all the way to the bar. Also could smell the stench of stale drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the coffee machines were both broken. Only hot beverage available was tea. Won't be rushing back especially for food. If the bar area lacks cleanliness what's the kitchens going to be like?

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it was extremely quiet, although there was not a family table clean and clear of plates and remnants of food and drink, no staff in sight. I had to go up to the bar and wait for the staff to stop chatting before I could ask one to clear a table for us. Food service was quick, not the best food but I suppose you can’t expect too much from the low prices

what more do you need to know ? Great!! only drawback was the toilets are up a flight of stairs so not suitable for the disabled.

We are here for dinner with our toddler back in July. We had 2 tikkas and a child's pizza, followed by a cookie dough sandwich. Everything was up to the usual standard.

Have visited here for breakfast at least 4 times over the year. Always cold. Decided to try again in December no change food still cold, eggs not cooked, Very disappointing. Don't think a visit any time soon.

You know what you get at a Wetherspoons, sometimes miserable staff included but in the Cerdic you get Carly, who is always smiling, friendly, polite and provided great service. I recommend Wetherspoons do all they can to keep her.

Chard weatherspoons is looking scruffy and why does no one clear the glasses from the hatch it's always full of dirty glasses and cups,there seemed to be enough staff why weren't they catching up while they weren't busy.

I visited this pub for lunch today. I ordered a glass of wine and a classic burger. Within 2 minutes a disgusting looking burger abd chips arrived. Both were stone cold.When I complained I was only offered a refund,not a replacement. The deputy manager looked as thought she didn't care , and when I asked if it was customary to serve cold food, she replied 'I don't know, I don't go into the kitchen' Not at all apologetic! I am not going back!!!!

Exactly like every other spoons I've ever been in to, except the staff are lifeless (not zombies, just less able in the area of cracking a smile). There is no ambience; I had to get incense out and my salt lamp to create and atmosphere. I'm a psychic medium, and I couldn't detect a single soul in the pub (living or dead). The beer garden is attractive, and well furnished with a selection of tables to revel at and plants to be stabbed by. However,it is always closed.

My favourite local pub! Large range of meals at really good prices,have been so many time,only let down once which was replaced no questions asked.Gets really busy at this time of year,not surprising, I really like the all day breakfast,give it a try!

Me and my brothers and dad came here for tea we arrived at 20.00 ordered food and drinks food didn't arrive until 21.00 the kids meal was ok but the plate scorching hot and was placed in front of my little brother. The mixed grill was appalling gammon not cooked soggy chips I asked for it to be cooked and got told it would only take 4 to 5 mins by 21.30 it wasnt done so we left as kids where getting agitated. Wont go here again

Staff here are extremely rude, and very belittling. Definitely wouldn’t spend any money here as the food is disgusting and staff are horrible and serve an extremely poor service to their customers. Don’t bother spending money here, spend your money on the better cafe’s who provide a better service in Chard.

Only the second time eating here and now I remember why. The staff are off hand, don’t actually listen to what you’re ordering, proved by getting my drinks order wrong. When taking it back 3 members of staff looked through me before 1 finally decided to serve me. Bearing in mind I was THE ONLY person standing waiting. I ordered the mixed grill, as everything else I chose, yet again, they didn’t have. When it came, it had no gammon and my friends had 3 pieces. Apart from the steak it was practically impossible to tell the meats apart. The peas and tomatoes had not been drained so this left the under side of my chips disgustingly soggy. The extra portion of corn on the cob actually came in something resembling a mini plant pot, hence not enabling you to actually put the butter on it unless you picked it up and poured it on. The tables were dirty and the bar is probably the stickiest bar I’ve ever been stuck too.I will definitely not make the same mistake a third time by coming back.

As I was staying nearby the guest house owners recommended the weather-spoons as being good value and good food.

Had a great breakfast in The Cedric Wetherspoons Chard this morning. Three adults and four hungry grandchildren. Large order. Everything came correct and nice and hot in ten minutes. Good seating and a check from the manager that all was ok. Lots of good food at a great price. Beats anywhere else hands down. Many thanks.

This is a good typical Wetherspoons, it has a separate area for family’s with children. The food is nice enough with a good price point, the app makes it very easy to order food and drinks from. It accepts cards and cash, and serves alcohol, however it has a limited selection of vegetarian and vegan food options.
