Had breakfast here many times and it’s usually okay. Today was different. Wasn’t informed there were no mushrooms, but they did appear to have given me an extra hash brown. I’d have rather had the shrooms, but that’s fine. However, beans, cold. Egg, hard and cold, toast, soggy and cold. Sausages were okay …… coffee was nice …..

The chef is incapable of cooking medium rare steaks even after three attempts. Staff are unreasonable, unhelpful and rude. Fat was left stringy, after this was raised with staff they were unable to produce one toothpick even though they unnecessarily stick them in the top of burgers just to be binned. I wouldn’t even give these one star given the choice; absolute dive. Worst atmosphere of any spoons I’ve even been in. As a manager I would sack all the staff on the spot. Kitchen and front of house.

Ive never had a problem with this spoons before. Went in today and my partner ordered a meal on the app that come with a drink but he accidentally selected “no drink” we only realised this after he paid. The lady who served us was very kind and polite and she corrected this and got us a drink. The staff are lovely.

We just had the best ever gourmet steak, that's why we coming to weatherspoons, big compliments to the chef, at Yeovil branch, the meat was perfectly cooked exactly for what we're after, we know what we can expect, and we are going to be they customers for longer

Great place at the bottom of town. Always good value for money. Plenty of paid parking nearby. Staff are friendly. With all Wetherspoons what you see it what you get.

Waited 40 minutes on a lukewarm breakfast and a hair in one of the eggs. Not impressed as I've seen bussier places with better food. Won't be back.

We were let down by a local Hotel for dinner both nights of our stay. We popped in to Weatherspoons for a meal. We had a drink and food on both nights we stayed in Yeovil. What a team, food and service was great. I have worked in catering for over 50years on and off, that's the team I would have loved working with. Weatherspoons are lucky to have you.

A busy town centre Wetherspoons establishment that serves good food and has a huge range of drinks. I highly recommend the fish and chips.

Great place for a cold beer at a reasonable price

This place truly embraces the concept of 'what you see is what you get'—not much, to be honest. But hey, kudos to them for placing the toilets at ground level! It's like they're saying, 'We'll bring you down to earth, both literally and figuratively.' Now, let's talk about the guacamole situation. While it still showed a striking resemblance to its original form -an intact avocado- I must confess that the lack of proper mashing and the presence of the sizeable chunks left a rather disheartening impression alongside my Nacho's. Alas, the lively presence of the local crackheads, engaging in their spirited antics just outside, undeniably added a unique flair to the ambiance of the establishment. As for the staff, while the majority performed adequately, there was one individual who exhibited a remarkable talent for selective obliviousness, leading us to resort to increasingly desperate attempts to capture their attention. A truly unforgettable experience!

I had lunch here on Sunday. Chicken topped with cheese and bacon; coleslaw, chips and nachos. It was all very tasty, but the tomato sauce on the nachos was very hot. I liked the new Millionaires Shortbread dessert, too, with added strawberries for a mere 62 pence. Service was prompt and pleasant even though the restaurant was busy.

We love this place for cheap and cheerful food and drinks. If you're expecting anything other than fast food style food it's not the place for you.

It was fine for what we wanted.

Firstly the prices here are unbeaten, the food was prepared quickly and the service was excellent. The quality of the food was exactly how I expected, good British food. Why go anywhere else.

Really pleasant and attentive staff. Quick service at the bar and the usual great selection of beers, ciders and alcoholic beverages at a Wetherspoons. Light and airy space with plenty of seating. Recommended if you are in the area. Review update. The duty manager on Friday 26/4 was obnoxious. Reported a suspicious bag left unattended at a table without drinks. His manner was poor and positively accusatory.

Adjacent to bus station and shopping centre (currently closed but being re- developed) very helpful staff, well worth a visit.

This was a half way meet up to see family. Decided to try this place and found it to be clean and tidy and the service was good. Staff were friendly and polite and as we were there for breakfast the menu was good. I stuck with scrambled eggs on toast and to be honest, the toast looked a little exposed through lack of scrambles eggs! It was nice enough and the eggs were well cooked. Just coukd have been more of it!! My Daughter is a vegan and she did not go withou. The menu catered well for her. Overall it was alright and reasonably priced to be fair.

Brilliant pub, had a breakfast and a few pints befote we wnt racing and i am more than happy with the service, always makes me wonder how there are so many people in this pub so early in the morning.

First of all the staff are great, always happy friendly, We are regular visitors to JD in Yeovil, Running up to later part of last year , the food was only ok, eggs hard from under the light, hash browns over or under cooked, Beans are always just warm and that is still the same as to date. Then the chef was change and the meals where mostly very good, beans still only warm thou, now how hard is it to keep the buggers hot, and eggs sunny side up. We went in this morning to find JDs had put prices up again 2nd time now within a short period of time, and the meal quietly dropped, partners egg was hard, when she got the plate back over 5mins, it was just warm, but the sausages where better. My eggs ok, but they are alway plonk on top of each other and normally the bottom ones are broken. Meals are not swimming in grease like the Bell but you really need to up your game, keep your customer happy with good cooked food after all it is the trade your in, i might add, this was not the only plates to got back to the kitchen. Now I'm not a chef, but i DO know when an egg is hard or under cooked, and hash browns are cold in the middle etc, so you would expect the chef or kitchen staff to know, or am im being picky JD, its not alway about cheap beer. Awful. Simply awful as soon as I walked through the door I was meant by a horrible smell of human semen. I nearly tripped over an abandoned pint of bitter had I not spotted it at the last second. Ridiculous establishment. Unless your waiting for a bus. Don't go here.

Probably not the best Guiness in the world so I am told! So if you don't like Guiness then there is nothing more to say. Have a serious look at Wetherspoon's menu, the choice of drinks is phenominal.

The toilets need an upgrade. Everything I go in there are broken locks on the doors, unclean toilets, ripped material on the sofas in the toilets. Come on wetherspoons improve this

Considering it’s Christmas Eve,I managed to get a pint of cider and ham eggs and chips at 20.30.Everyone was happy and festive provided good service I was very impressed.Keep it up weatherspoons.

A rare find - a Spoons on one floor with toilets at ground level! Nicely spaced tables, good service and like most Spoons, great choice of drinks and food 👍🏻

I called in at eleven this morning whilst waiting for tyres being fitted to my car. I had a warm welcome as I arrived from friendly smiling staff. The place was spotlessly clean and nice and warm. I ordered a large breakfast and coffee for £7.90. The coffee was help yourself from a machine that made each cup freshly and was surprisingly good. The breakfast arrived quickly and was unexpectedly good. In all, I had three mugs of coffee. All in a very good experience and I would definitely go again. Keep up the brilliant work folks.

It's a Witherspoon's....there all the same.

Sent two large breakfast's back three times. Because the food was cold. Each time they came out, they were cold. Not once was the breakfast cooked fresh. Just kept serving the returned food reheated. But failed to get it hot. Spoke to duty manager and got a refund on our food. Got breakfast elsewhere.

Food is always good, especially love the fish and chips and the jalfreizi. James and the staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble 😊

Good value and service quick and pleasant only thing I would say. They don’t clean tables and cutlery isn’t always clean. I clean my own table with soap and water from gents !

My egg and cheese muffin was the worst I've ever had,the egg was cold and covered with a thick skin. The replacement muffin was lacking in cheese and looked like it was the original but was half scaped off.

Me and my partner really like peas and the whole franchise was so judgemental of our pea pub jumping. My diet is only allowed to be peas as i need more of my 5 a days. They kept giving us less and less while we are paying good money. Thank you to the lovely lady serving them who told us she also likes peas, at least someone understands.

Visited today for lunch ( 27th June 13.15 ish) the place was a little unclean.. tables needed a good wipe.. coffee machine was looking generally sticky. But that can be forgiven because you could also see how little staff were on..the staff we did interact with..were welcoming, polite, friendly.. and clearly. Very hard working people. Because they didnt stop for a second..we ordered our meal. Which came promptly. Was piping hot.. and honestly the best meal we'd had in a spoons.. and we've had our fair share! So I just really wanted to leave the staff a bit of positivity today. As I really think they deserved it. P.s loos were nice n clean.

Today I visited with my grandson aged 16. Ordered our meal plus a coffee for me and alcohol free drink for him. The meal took ages even though we were the only ones waiting for food. Manager brought out our meal then took away grandsons drink saying he shldnt be drinking it. The barmaid had walked past numerous times and never questioned him and he had had the drink in many Wetherspoons. I made this clear to manager who suddenly produced a glass of coke. The meal was also microwave within an inch of its life. Told him I was going to put a bad review and complaint. Usually we enjoy visiting this establishment but not today

Petty discrimination is alive and well in this Wetherspoons branch. I am a regular customer of excellent Wetherspoons pubs in London, Portsmouth and Bath and I think this branch in Yeovil is poorly run and by the way it treated my brother, could be seen as a discriminatory establishment. My brother and I and several friends entered on Wednesday evening (26th). Most of us bought soft drinks. The barman refused to serve my brother a canned pepsi because my brother (26, completely sober and impeccably polite) did not have ID. He then failed to ID other similarly aged members of the party when they purchased non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks later in the evening. The Wetherspoons policies on the company website do not lend weight to the decision of this branch not to serve non alcoholic soft drinks like Pepsi to a customer without ID. Neither can I find written evidence in UK licensing legislation to support their decision. If the manager of the William Dampier can provide written grounds, based on clearly signposted policy/legislation for why his staff singled out my brother in this way, I would be most grateful. The manager said the pub were only trying to cover themselves and alluded to policies supporting his decision which simply don't exist. He also made a weird and irrelevant statement about being consistent on this because of under-aged female customers. I could see there was no solid justification for this and he was trying to think up one on the spot. I just wanted my brother to get his soft drink and for that matter, any other paying customer to enjoy theirs regardless of their gender. I suspect he may have been covering for a poorly trained junior staff member who had made the wrong call. I don't know why the bartender in Yeovil chose to treat a group of paying customers (we were a visibly diverse group from different parts of the UK and Ireland) in the way he did, and the defensive attitude did little to reassure. To give the pub some credit, they acknowledged that we were nice people, acknowledged that their behaviour could seem like they were trying to be d**ks, (their choice of words, and sadly I couldn't entirely disagree) and we were allowed to finish the drinks we bought but our experience was far from satisfactory.

My partner and I come here fortnightly, or so, and Ben is one of the most welcoming and friendliest members of staff we have ever met. For a couple that spend most their time eating and drinking out we can honestly say Ben is one of the best. He’s friendly, full of local knowledge and really gives the pub a great atmosphere! He’s gone out of his way for us more than once and we see him doing the same for other customers all the time! A real asset to spoons and he deserves a pay rise! Keep doing what you do Ben, your awesome!

The bar staff are really excellent. They helped me out when my phone died on being discharged from Yeovil. They charged my phone, therefore enabling me to contact someone to take me home to Street when the buses were on strike that miserable Friday afternoon. I am in your debt

I called to this really well run place at 11.00am,0n a wednesday ,i was amazed how pleasent and friendly the staff were at this time of day,i ordered a drink wich was really good and at a amazing low price,i was so impressed by the servise i ordered a meal,this also was first class,a steak with all the trmmings and a pint for less than £13.00..will deffinately be calling in this place when next in yeovil....

We called in here for a meal and managed to get a table near the front door, which was lovely and cool. We ordered our meal and drinks at the bar and gave them our table number. The food arrived about 10 minutes later, freshly cooked and delicious . We had ordered steak and chips and fish and chips which both tasted fantastic, and I would certainly recommend this as a perfect place to eat and great value too.

I visited during the day on a Sunday and it was really hot out but the place was airy and the drink lovely and cool. The table service great as ever when ordered through the wetherspoons app and the drink and food arrived quick. The food was hot, the staff were friendly, just what you would expect.

I was hungry. It was hot. I went to Wetherspoons, cos you know what you're going to get. But there are some terrible Wetherspoons, and some that aren't quite so terrible. This is a good one. It was a Monday night in school hols, but...

I wouldn't normally review a spoons but the staff here today had such a lovely vibe and the pizza was great too. If the chain started paying the real living wage or closer to I'd give this one 5 stars straight away!;

Staff are generally quick, and so is breakfast, alas that is because they must knock them up in the back and stick on a shelf til someone orders it so it comes out a minute after ordering but not the slightest bit warm. The bacon is also sub par and looks like it's been savaged by a wild animal while being burnt by a raging forest fire, and the long blond hair entwining my sausages really wasn't a welcome sight at all, some wetherspoons manage great food but there's no excuse for this level of bad except a lack of care to what's served up. Otherwise nice for a pint as it's not usually headache inducing cramped as some popular wetherspoons are. (Likely the food!)

Fish and chips always good. Breakfast usually served luke warm. Char grilled chicken need to be shown the grill. Great ingredients but low standards in the kitchen please think about your customer.

Nice for a quick bite to eat while I was here. Food came quickly as did the drinks. Wide range of menu available. Ordered on the app so limited interaction with staff. Tables weren't cleaned tho. Loads of empty cups and plates left over from breakfast seeing as it was gone 2pm when we visited thought this should have been done by then??

Nice pub had breakfast last week, could have been hotter and my partners orange was 25% ice. most was removed but no top up, ask if people won't ice, ice is zero cost orange is not.
