Very spacious and interesting pub! Lots of people were queuing at the bar, but it's quicker to find a table and order with the Wetherspoon app. I didn't eat here so I can't comment, but I'm sure it would've been the same good quality that you get at any Spoons.

Ran out of a lot of food so choice restricted on a Saturday evening

On a 3 day trip to IOW. Used it every day. Interesting building.old church.

I had fish and chips and didn't disappoint. Good size and value. My son had a burger and chips however which was good but small portion and no garnish which would have made the presentation better..I appreciate they are keeping prices low so need to made changes somewhere with rising prices everywhere else. Always good for children and 3 grandaughters all enjoyed their meals.

Absolutely brilliant fish and chips, served quickly with a smile. All at a good price

Another example where Wetherspoons have converted an historic building into a very nice pub. In this case, a former Chapel. Very tastefully done and good use made of the layout. A great atmosphere and very good service. And of course the very good value for money food and drinks!

Different Wetherspoons pub set in an old deconsercrated church in the centre of Newport. Standard wetherspoons fare of food and drink, always good value. Stopped off for breakfast. Plenty of seating including first floor where you get a good view of the church's interior. Friendly service. Parking a litte difficult in the immediate vicinity. Garden area. Well worth a visit.

Went for lunch with my Daughter Grandson & Great Granddaughter. Had to order at the bar as the app would'nt work properly. Bar staff were nice & friendly. The food came out very fast. Everyones meals were great except mine. I had a mixed grill all of the meat was tough and tasteless except for the sausage so i would not recommend the Mixed Grill

Food was what you would expect from Weatherspoons. Seemed very noisy.

As usual with Spoons, the building was the attraction, being the only distinction between one Spoons and another. Great building.

Had men keep going in and out of the ladies toilets constantly so didn’t feel like you could go toilet incase another man walks in. One of the men were clearly drunk when walking in the ladies toilets. One of them were not drunk when he decided to walk in to go find his mate who had walked into the ladies toilet.

Went in here to get one large breakfast and a traditional and it was horrendous the eggs were stone cold and as hard as the plate, bacon was basically charcoal and the other eggs were very raw I think the chefs need to get more training as that is not how you serve food at all as well as serving stone cold food isn’t ok

Good food quick service and friendly staff. There weren't many clear and clean tables but this may be because of how busy it was at the time.

I do love a free refill. Plenty of seating with extra upstairs. Staff today were efficient and friendly. Food was quick, hot and tasty.

Generally very good in the day or early evening. Good food at a reasonable price. Not a bad service. In the evening, it starts to get a little lively for dinner conversation.

I drink shipyard in all wetherspoons but it wasn't to it's usual standard in the man on the moon.

The place is beautiful. However, because it's a Spoon's nearly all food tastes like microwaved. Pizza might be an exception and became our go-to. At least it's cheap though. I get that the place is super busy, but every time I seem to sit at a table that is sticky, or covered with condiments.

Order some food here it arrived pretty quick which surprised me but when I started eating I knew why it was stone cold tasteless and very bland took it back to the bar and the guy looked at me like something he’d stood on and said maybe it’s meant to be like that lovely customer service

I don’t know how this place manages to be so slow at serving you. It’s the slowest place around and has been for years. Got fed up of waiting, after trying to catch the eye of any bored looking member of staff - and left. Will anyone ever sort it out? Absolutely useless.

This is a beautiful church ⛪️ converted by wetherspoons and very tastefully done. Lots of character. Two nice beer gardens. One smoking and one non smoking. Good idea I thought. Usual crew of all day drinkers but big enough to avoid them so don't be put off. Service very quick. Staff friendly.

Fabulous wetherspoons in Newport isle of white.

Location is great; menu options are quite varied; some of the booth seats are pretty, velvety and comfortable…but so many of the tables around us were dirty and unwelcoming…why did nobody come over, clear up and clean them??? I had to sit and look at that while having my dinner??? As a side note - the baby changing is on the same level as the entrance!

Didn't eat this time, but have food in other wetherspoons good value for money. And the ales are good, and very well priced.

The reality of 2024 life, do not have any fun, the epitome of how life is nowadays such a sad existence honestly go any where else because the staff are happy to play along and have fun but reality is they want a nunnery as soon as you break a smile it's ti.e to go hence why the staff are there till the end

Typical Wetherspoons, good food and drinks at sensible prices. Attentive efficient staff. Lovely surroundings- a converted Church… Would recommend.

Service was slow and people were pushing in at the bar. Lovely building and ok for a drink or 2. I wouldn't take young children here as it seemed like a drinkers pub.

Typical weatherspoons. Good food for the price. Quick service for food and drink. Also one of the nicer looking on the inside. Cool to booze in an old church.

Food was average but the church was nice

Other than the ale (good but fairly expensive for a Spoons), why bother? Friendly enough but so much more on offer around the island.

After 45min, the chef came to say he didn't have what we had ordered. We switch, but we disappointed with what arrived. We've had much better experiences.

Fantastic spoons. This wetherspoons has been clevery converted from a church and the atmosphere is absolutely astounding. Plus, drinking in the house of the lord feels rebellious and satisfying. Thank god!

What an incredible place to have breakfast. Only spoilt by the oblivious parents whose children were running round us screeching. They eventually noticed and apologised. Met them again in a shop half an hour later.

Probably blasphemous to convert a church into a wetherspoons. A really beautiful building, very fast service (on a non-busy Sunday afternoon at least) and a good amount of space.

Lovely old church which wetherspoons have taken great care with, well worth a visit.

Nice location, but the food is rather average, although it is said that everything is good, sustainable and cooked with love. The service seems to be unmotivated. Small portions and what makes it worse was the extra coleslaw. It was the size of an espresso cup and a thimble! As an extra inclosure, that's an imposition! No tip for that.

Popped in for a drink & possibly meal pub not busy but met with dirty tables,plates & glasses. Selection of real ales average bar staff trying to recommend a strong beer (guess a non seller). Decided to eat elsewhere after 1 drink. Atmosphere is very dark appreciate it’s an old church but not a good ambiance could improve with a few improvements hopefully Area manager visits regularly to ensure the Weatherspoons core principle’s are adhered to

No toilets in use, no good when you are pregnant and being sick.. Card service only which is no good when you have cash.

Popped in to try the steak day meal today with quite low expectation I'm afraid but hey it was fantastic!!! All cooked to perfection,the pepper sauce was delish and the plates redhot!! So so impressed and the service from Saffron was faultless,what a worker honestly,meals served and empty plates cleared every time she went back to the kitchen. She should train some of the staff how to wait tables properly and efficiently and all done with a lovely smile!😃😃 VERY well done Saffron.

Cheap! But the beer always tastes wrong. Too many individual tables in the main area so nobody can walk anywhere. Always chaos at the bar and very difficult to get served.

I had an awful experience in this establishment. A group of three of us got a table at this Wetherspoons and we decided to order mains with drink, half of us ordered alcoholic beverages and one of us found out we had lost an Id. When the drink arrived the man asked for the id in which I informed them I had lost it. Originally the waiter said he could get me a replacement of a coke but then said he couldn’t do it because they would lose money whilst he also noted that they sold the drink on to someone else. He was caught in a lie…. He told me the bottom line is we wouldn’t be able to get this drink. I return to my table in which the security man told us we are lucky to not be getting kicked out and told us aggressively that we have to leave once we finished the food with no reasoning. His excuse to being rude towards us was that he was having a bad day which I don’t think is justifiable. I would thoroughly recommend not going to this restaurant due to the poor staff, lack of backbone from managers and a security guard who was bald with a moustache who evidently gets a kick out of power tripping the customers at this restaurant. Also the food was horrible.

Eggs were a bit underdone and didn't much like the bacon.

Very solid and spacious Spoons. Enjoyed my food and it’s as you’d expect any other Spoons in terms of food and service, but it’s wicked that it’s in a church and is not something you see at all.

What can I say about this place? I first visited during Rishi Sunak's (shortsighted) 'Eat out to Help Out' scheme. I was in the middle of a cycle tour round the island. Not only was it unbelievably competitive price-wise (partly down to the aforementioned scheme), but the service was outstanding. You have to remember, this is a Wetherspoons, and whilst some of them can be gems, a lot are staffed by people who really don't want to be there (and it shows). But not in this place. Sunak's scheme meant that there were literally queues out of the door for the entirety of August, and the staff at the Moon were turning tables at lightning speed. They were all polite, even though they were clearly facing unprecedented demand. The only downside was when I was unlocking my bike on the way for another jaunt and a local publican shamed me about the lube levels on my cassette. Although this may seem inconsequential, it has stayed with me. If you're reading this, I hope you're happy.

Fantastic place to take a seat and rest awhile.

Not a very nice experience here this time, unfortunately. Family visit to the island, popped here for lunch as we've been doing for the last 4 years. Despite my 23 year old daughter showing her ID, she was refused alcohol (because the waiter believed the ID was fake). Hello, she's here with her parents! 🙄 The waiter then proceeded to damage her ID, so she can no longer use it. Suffice to say, we will not be returning. We decided to cancel the food and claim refund and went down the road to The George Inn, where we had a very nice meal and drink. The staff there couldn't believe that my daughter was mistaken for an under 18.

The food is delicious and delightful, and the service is good. I ordered the large mixed grilled meat, which is pretty nice.

Nice food and drink great place to go you can park in the town and walk to it

It's a typical Wetherspoons and outside smoking area lots of indoor tables downstairs and upstairs toilets upstairs to be fair the toilets have always been clean and well kept and the man in the moon never seems dirty food is always okay you get what you pay for they usually have a really good selection of drinks on especially ales however the last few times I've been there have been less dark ales and less local which is a shame I go back to my initial comment it's a typical Weatherspoon's. The stuff we encountered on the day we're all friendly and helpful.

Pizza was pretty burnt unfortunately. The prices are great & plenty of seating indoor & out. Lovely place to visit for a cheap drink but probably won't get the pizza again.

As always cheap and cheerful, but, good value for what you get. Never had any complaints. Good quick service, waitors polite.

There were 5 of us dining, and all of the chips and onion rings were cold. Tried to complain about it, but they didn't seem bothered .

Great food and drink at amazingly low prices.

Ordered cheese and tomato panini, and there was no cheese in it. I know its cheap but honestly would expect some cheese. It was like they had spread some grated cheese on it. Complained and they stuck some burger slice cheese in it warmed it back up so it was solid as a rock !

What a fabulous to have a pub. Service was very quick. Great value as ever.

This is a typical Wetherspoons establishment. The beer and wine were good, food was as expected and being a weekend, it was busy and quite loud.

This place should still be a church.

We had quick service and our meal was delicious. The grilled lemon & herb chicken is great , With a Guinness .
