Spent a very pleasant hour at this pub. We called in just for a soup and a roll at lunchtime. Mine host was very accommodating and found us a cosy table in his busy pub. Soup and roll were first class and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Also there was a young woman who started singing, who we could not see, but could hear, with a lovely voice, who apparently came from Ryde and had been booked. Clean toilets, would certainly go there again. On a nice day, lovely place to sit out overlooking the sea.

Terribly disappointed with the meal tonight. The fish and chips, which we expected would be a great choice given the location, was truly inedible. Service was also very slow: we waited 1h15m for main course to be served. Maybe an off night, but we wouldn’t recommend.

Booked a table for the evening and was looking forward to dinner on the last night of our trip to the Isle of Wight. However, a really disappointing experience. Shame as the pub had a lovely atmosphere on arrival but service was so slow , staff didn’t seem particularly engaged and it took 1hr 30 minutes for us to be served our main courses. Thank god we didn’t have starters or opt for desserts. Food was nice but overpriced £28 for steak and chips and niether were cooked as we requested. Lots of mistakes , mishaps and people not happy with their meals too. Also be aware the service charge is added to the bill. All in all a disappointing evening on what could have been something really special.

We have always wanted to eat at the Crab & Lobster as the last time we visited it was during Covid times & the pub was closed. We booked in for lunch, upon arrival the gentleman asked us to take a seat at the bar whilst our table was being prepared as we were early. The place had a lovely feel to it, they had a singer performing & he was fantastic, it really added to the feel of the place. We ordered a Pork & Beef roast & shared the meat, oh my word, absolutely melt in your mouth amazing!! We both said it was the best sunday lunch out we have ever had. The staff were lovely & friendly & asked us several times if everything was ok with our meals. We cannot wait to visit again.

From start to finish and everything in between was nothing short of outstanding. Went in on the off chance of getting a table after trying two previous places (now extremely happy the others couldn’t fit us in) we were immediately sat at a lovely table with our menus and offered water for the table. After looking at the incredible menu we finally decided on our chosen meals. I had the risotto and my partner had the scampi and we had the shell on prawns to share. The flavours were amazing and the perfect portion sizes if not a little too much which is perfect, better than not having enough. The service we received was incredible and we have already decided on a date to go back. Thank you to the whole team 100% recommendations from both of us

I’d like to think we were just unlucky but we sat in an area with 3 other tables and all were unhappy ranging from over priced, to poor service, to small portions (the man on the next table had 9 chips with his fish and chips at £18). For our experience, we booked for 18.45 and were told they needed the table for 2020 which was fine. We ordered at 1850, drinks arrived 15 mins later followed by the starter nearly 45 mins later. We got our mains an hour after the order in and the vegetables were cold. We were given replacement veg but by this time we had finished our meal. My wife ordered plaice and I would say it was the smallest I have ever seen severed (they should be put back at less than 270mm long) and this one might just have hit the limit. Whilst the manager made some adjustment to the bill to compensate, it was too little too late. In summary, poor service and very poor value for money

We visited on a Monday lunchtime and had the mushroom and feta tagliatelle with extra chicken followed by chocolate orange tart - absolutely delicious, but I do feel the dessert deserved a scoop of ice cream with it. We had a voucher to use, but unlike the table next to us, we weren’t offered the removal of the “optional” service charge from our bill which was disappointing as it costs enough to go out for a meal as it is.

A bit disappointing really we have been regular visitors for many years the food is ok but with a little more effort could be so much better. For those that don’t know the Crab and Lobster it’s a lovely old coastal pub in a great location and has a fantastic outside eating area as well as numerous inside tables and dogs are welcomed. On this occasion I had Moules & Frites, the Moules were perfect fresh and tasty while the fries which I’d consider to be easy to cook were well overdone and looked like they’d been cooked in old oil in fact they weren’t edible. My wife had a crab salad again the crab was lovely but the salad was very average. I hope this review can be seen as constructive as the staff are always so welcoming and I’d like to think with a bit of TLC it could be 5 stars next time.

I've been coming here for many years, but had a few years gap recently. The pub itself is very similar and provides a cost atmosphere for a catch up with friends. I noted that parking is even more limited there now they have taken half of the already small car park and added extra outside seating. Service was reasonably - not overly quick and one dish had to be remade as it was dropped so one in our group had to wait Food is good quality and tasty, however the prices are significantly higher than they used to be. A whole lobster at their market rate was £70. Seems quieter than it used to be and feels like the prices have gone up to balance that out. Probably will not return as there are better options for seafood in the village.

One of my most favourite pubs on The Isle Of Wight as I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. It's right next to the sea on a really warm day or evening it's beautiful, especially since it's right next to the sea. So you get an amazing view of all the ships and boats out in the water. Friendly welcome and a lovely view, the drinks were great, however having placed our order, various young waitresses tried to deliver the wrong food to us on three occasions before the correct dishes finally arrived - they didn’t seem to know who had ordered what! The burger and chips were great, but I was very disappointed with the seafood risotto - it was heavily overspiced and contained no identifiable chunks of crab or lobster meat, just thin shreds of something (not good quality) along with tiny prawns and some little pieces of broken shell (gritty!) and a few shellfish on the top. This meal didn’t warrant the high price charged (around £25), although on commenting about it the lady in charge did knock 10% off that part of the bill, so we ‘saved’ £2.50! Such a shame as this was meant to be a special ’end of holiday’ treat on our last day.

We had made a reservation at this place and was looking forward for it. Service was terrible . The food was more than disappointing frozen seafood . Chips was straight taken out from the bag and didn’t even care to separate each fries while serving it to us , looked more or less like a ball of chips. Seafood was served cold, not sure if this is a delicacy. Found it difficult to peel and eat the prawns as it was served cold. Staff didn’t even bother to come or serve us, but they were more than courteous to other customer and not us. We felt that the staff wanted us to leave this place as soon as possible. Felt we were treated indifferently(probably because of our ethnic origin ). This meal from this restaurant scarred our entire Isle of Wight holidays. Whilst holidaying on the Isle of wight usually our first meal is at the crab and lobster because of the friendly welcome and the excellent food. This is an end of holiday report because not only on sat lunch when we arrived but we went back on the Friday lunchtime too. The four of us and our border collie dog whom the manager always makes a nice fuss of were quickly sat down and orders taken. The prawn and salmon starters and ploughman's and scampi were very tasty and fresh. In fact all our families plates were empty at the end so we would certainly recommend eating at this first class establishment. Couldn't eat outside this week because of the weather but if you manage to see the sun this summer the view overlooking the sea is spectacular.

Over cooked fish and chips that looked like it had been cooked twice. Everything tasted like it had been kept warm all day then reheated

We wanted a place with ambience and seafood… good seafood! We were not disappointed! If you’re expecting McDonalds prices you’ll be giving the place a 2 star review on the basis that you get what you pay for! What we got was a friendly welcome, pub priced drinks, a great wine list, an menu that ticked all the boxes and and from we were able to literally create our own platter…. And what a platter. The lobster was sweet, succulent without a hint of bitterness, the Sea bass just melted in your mouth… there was nothing we could have said about the food quality. We ate In 5he early evening, the place was jumping but there was not unreasonable wait for the food, and the attention to our needs was there without being intrusive. If I were to make one observation it would be that we would have loved a dessert but none of us fancied the offerings which we felt were limited, but then we went for the seafood and in that we really hit the jackpot. A lovely seafood restaurant where the food is honest and not overly messed about with. So many so called sea food places on the island offer a ‘fusion’ of seafood with some other cultural influence…. At the moment it seems Asian/Japanese is the in thing so if you aren’t into wasabi and pufferfish this is the place for you! A word of warning. If you swing by for lunch and want a sand which, you could be in for a wait due to the popularity of the place. Always ask your host what the wait is on a sandwich as you could get a quicker serving buy ordering of the hot flinch menu. It would be a shame to leave a poor review based only on waiting time in a busy restaurant and not on the quality of the food, the ambience and the welcome all of which are superb! Thanks to Mel and everyone at the Crab and Lobster for the best dining experience we’ve had on the island!

Top tip for a cool seat on a sunny day is the cool interior. The patio was like an oven. Not a lot changed for 2024 but the seafood, though excellent is expensive. Platters to share are good value but rather stingy with the bread. Side order of garlic bread works. 2023: The food and beer is still good. In warm sunny weather the patio outside is well shaded. Still super dog friendly. Not cheap but nowhere is these days. Tgd 10% service charge seems entrenched now.

Location is amazing. Parking is awful 😖 Service was brilliant when we got served eventually. We had to ask for menus. The food was good, I wouldn't rank ot brilliant as the lobster was slightly over cooked for our liking but it was nice and seafood is in abundance. I'll happily re visit but I was disappointed it didn't live up to the hype. The bill.....well that's another matter. Let's just say if the current financial climate is hampering you, think twice 🤔

Did not stay at hotel, went to eat lunch. Very disappointing, menu not as described. Given the reviews indicating fine dining and a description of a seafood restaurant, I was very surprised, to say the least. I ordered dressed crab salad with new potatoes which came as a small pot of crabmeat dressed in mayonnaise, dressed salad of leaves, tomato and onion and roasted rosemary new potatoes for £26. The waiter agreed the dish was not as described, the waitress replaced it with a crab sandwich and removed the 10% service charge from the bill. My partner ordered a seafood risotto, also priced at £26. He is more forgiving than me as I found it heavily seasoned with pepper, overpowering the delicate fish. As for the venue we were directed towards a small courtyard next to the car park on wooden picnic tables, with a sea view. All in all the venue left much to be desired.

We were away for a 4 day break and visited this pub twice for lunch. The food and service was excellent. In a lovely location. Would definitely go back on our next visit to the I.O.W.

As tourists on The Island it’s a little tricky to find, but what a gem when you do. Parking is limited, but we were out of season so no problem on our visit. Really friendly & welcoming greeting from the pub’s front of house. All the other staff were equally friendly. We were there for lunch. Had a crab sandwich which was lovely (although perhaps a little spicy) Lovely hour or so spent there. We then had the most beautiful walk along Bembridge Beach.

An excellent place to eat and drink with great views out to sea. The menu items are very good with excellent products, the staff are very professional and friendly. We liked it so much we dined there twice on our 3 day visit to the Island. Try the beef rib if it's on the menu, its excellent.

Visited with family as a group of 7, from the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. The staff were fun and friendly, and each visit to the table they made a lovely effort to interact with our 6 year old. We had a laugh and thoroughly enjoyed the food, made more enjoyable because the atmosphere was great. Very good espresso martinis here too - I ordered a decaf one and it’s one of the best I’ve had! Looking forward to returning.

This used to be a fantastic place for dinner but this experience was very poor. The menu was very limited with limited options. I was very disappointed and probably won't be returning as there are many better eating establishments on the island, most of which have better menus and better prices.

Visited this place on Saturday with a large group of 11 of us. It was my son’s birthday so we took a birthday cake. I can not promote this place enough in terms of the welcoming and accommodating environment. The staff were fantastic and I have to say I have never had this experience before. The food was excellent and I can not thank the staff enough for how consciences they were and made a big impact on our day. Would recommend others visit this place.

Visited the Crab and Lobster Inn for lunch today, the setting was beautiful with a nautical theme, service was faultless and the staff were really good with children and dogs. To say that the place is dog friendly is an understatement, our dog received loving attention and was even given a treat for sitting nicely. The food was delightful and the choice on the menu caters for all. The kids were well catered too and overall it was a lovely place for us to have our lunch. It is tucked away nicely right by the beach and you will definitely not regret seeking out this place for your culinary desires.

The setting and dining room are lovely and the staff very pleasant. The menu was made up of mostly ‘typical’ pub food and was good, and there was a decent wine selection. However, for a place that promotes itself for its seafood, and is called The Crab&Lobster Inn, it was disappointing that there was no lobster (ok, I suppose it’s not always available) and virtually no crab. The only crab option was a crab salad - a relatively small portion of dressed crabmeat (not much more than a sandwich portion and including 2 bits of shell), a large plate of over-dressed salad leaves and a few chips for £26. No seafood platters or crab bisque as advertised on their online menus. So if you want decent pub food, recommended, but if you’re looking for seafood, look elsewhere.

What a culinary delight. Regretfully, I neglected to immortalize the feast in a photo. Nevertheless, the experience was good. I particularly enjoyed the pub's charming decor that evoked a cozy seaside ambiance.

Everytime i get to have a look at Costa Newport Shropshire website, the thin that greets me on the Google listing is a review from trip adivsor and this is 10 - yes ten - years old!! It say it is" the worst Costa ever". I am a local elderly lady and I go down there 2-3 times a week. I go on my own. The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and homely. The seats are comfortable and padded. It upsets me that Trip-Advisor can keep plugging this ten year old review. How dare they do this!! it is shocking. I havent dont a trip advisor review for 2-3 years, but I am fed up with this report. Please take it off.

It's very busy in the summer season, but it still manages to produce great food. In the winter, it's the one pub that is consistently open, no matter what the weather or footfall. Throughout the winter, there are special deals on meals, which are cooked to a very high standard. The staff are really friendly and helpful and if you want any changes to your meal, they are only too willing to help. If you come to Yarmouth pop in, you will be looked after and enjoy a lovely meal and beverage of your choice. The location is great, but the phone signal is very poor. You may have to walk up the peir.

We had a poor dining experience, one meal in particular, the stir fry chicken was very strange with slices of raw tomato and bottled silverside onions. The other meals were indifferent, chips not really hot, a real bugbear with me as it's something that's so easy to get right. They close tomorrow until March so were obviously just not that bothered and keen to get off home. It's a shame as it's an attractive venue with live music and a real nautical vibe.
