Had a couple of lagers / mini cheddars and watched the football ⚽️👌 Lovely friendly pub in Sandown.

Great place to spend some of the scooter weekend . Jon shove a brilliant DJ .Staff do great with all the extra visitors .

Friendly place. Me and my lad went in to watch the football whilst on holiday and its a proper boozer, as we say in the North!

Old school pub for locals. Does it's job but don't wander in with a family or expecting holiday chiq.

Great atmosphere and service on a Saturday evening. Good beer selection including Real ales, good venue for live sport and live music

Absolutely worst pub I've stepped in to. Phone got stolen then was kicked out for asking the person who sat next to the offender and I get kicked out I feel this place isn't a worthy place to go to

Quiet when I visited, weekday afternoon. Can't give much comment on one vist.

Nice pub, friendly staff. Reasonable priced drinks, pool table, dart board, TV⚽️. Live music on fridays and saturdays & Dog friendly.

Came for the live band (High School Never Ends) but ended up really liking the atmosphere. It’s more of a dive bar than pub but service was really good and atmosphere was great.

Love the atmosphere and the welcoming we always receive. so friendly and that goes for the landlord/lady as well as their fantastic staff! Great prices compared to others and they put on the big sports events... what more can you ask for! 🍻😃🥂 xx

Visited on a Saturday night expecting busy but was completely silent, Whole place was filthy, toliets unusable due to fecal matter left everywhere, staff look fed up. Watched someone who called himself the owner drink in excess and verbally abuse the two bar staff he had working. Visited years ago when run by someone else and it was perfect now it's been run to the ground. 0/10 will never be back. Drinks cheap and live music are the only positives. But we'd rather pay more for our drinks we will never return.

Not the best. The myriad flies circling around the ceiling not a welcome feature. Furniture not great either. Guinness was much better than another establishment we visited after though.

Awful experience travelling to the festival night before thought stop for some drinks and couldn’t be so unwelcoming refused a drink! Due to waitresses obviously taking offence over us sitting here. Apologised for any issues although sat quietly in bar !

Friendly pub, good prices, complying fully with covid rules unloke many others. Been redecorated during lockdown. Ignore reviews here from years ago and pay them a visit I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Although this seems to be listed in restaurants it is a traditional pub and does not serve meals

Lovely staff but beer wasn't the best kept I've experienced. Music was very loud for the time of day we visited. Not sure we'd go again.

Relaxing, had a good night out.

Just come back from a coach trip to the isle of wight with my dad and sister. We wanted to go in this pub as it was opposite our hotel. I checked it out on trip advisor due to a comment made to me about not bothering. Sounded awful so we didn't go in. Until we heard it had karaoke on, on sunday evening. We looove singing so we popped in sun afternoon to check just how bad it was before deciding to attend or not. What can I say....the pub is far from dirty and is actually really nice. That pic on here that looks like a door mat must've been hard to get. The staff, Charlie, was very nice and a round of pernod/black and a wine was £7. Hardly bank breaking. We had a couple of drinks and left to do other stuff. Later that night we went back for karaoke. Fast service, great set up and the locals were extremely friendly. Had the best night of our whole trip there. I really don't know why anyone would want to bad mouth this place, except to say maybe you approached it in a wrong way. They do have their locals, many seemed quite young, but I'm sure they have plenty of holiday people who would have just as good a time as us if only they weren't put off by unwarranted reviews.

Nice friendly pub that is a residents local. Made to feel welcome and not over priced. Sport on the TV's for updates on all that has gone on that day.

The gents toilets where the worst i have ever been in ,stunk of urine and covered in mould !! No excuses!!

If you're thirsty, then 'the Tap' will give you a decent pint at a very good price. However, if you wanted anything more than that, you really would do better to go elsewhere.

This is a really good pub and has live music most Saturday nights. What is even nicer is that there is a quieter side and the fun / noisy side. Lots to do with pool, darts etc

The costumers were far to loud and the entertainment was so horrible the pub atmosphere would have been considerably better without it. All the people there were rude and very low class. The pub decoration is very bland. The lightning was very dim. The drinks were very expensive which is odd because most reviews said the price were decent. The pub floor was absolutely horrendous, the floor was covered in black dirty stains. The whole place made me feel uncomfortable

The match was on the TV and the atmosphere was excellent. I hope to return soon as piano-oke is on Thursday and I would have loved to see that.

During the day this is a mans pub but when they have live bands etc its good for all
