Had a delicious Sunday roast - the food was excellent and the place was absolutely buzzing. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and even the puppy enjoyed himself!

Amazing roast, the best I’ve had in a pub!

Beautiful and skilled service combined with perfect location

I've visited here a handful of times and it's great to see that they're still focused on selling a quality selection of beer. I tried an American Wild Ale, a Polish Smoothie sour ale and another Polish beer in the form of a barrel aged imperial stout. The staff were very friendly and there was a nice convivial atmosphere. It's located on a very pretty street within a stones throw from Notting Hill underground Station. Not only is their beer selection great but they also have a good selection of spirits so I decided to try a cask strength Bourbon from New Riff, Delicious!

Booked online for Sunday Roast dinner. The place is quaint and the service very friendly. The only dish we managed to eat was excellent (but salty). Unfortunately the positive notes end here. On the negative aspects: when we arrived at 8pm they announced that there was only one choice left among the dishes on the Sunday Roast menu. When ordering they announce that not only is the last dish on the menu sold out but that in the meantime the dishes of the day are also sold out. Catastrophic organization. We are practically forced to accept the off-menu proposal: a stout beef pie for two people. The surprise comes to an end. The dish proves to be much more expensive than anything else on the menu and in addition to the already expensive prices for food, drink and bread, a 12% service charge (note the note on the menu) brings the bill to a total of over £45 per person. Almost star prices...

The mall tavern was a great place. The food and the service were all great! I would definitely visit again.

I sat at the only available table and was just starting my pint when a very rude member of staff told me I had to move because the table was reserved. I pointed out that it didn't say it was reserved and she said it didn't have to. She then preceded to pick up my drink and put it on the bar! Disgusting attitude and customer service. I would give it a miss

Excellent Sunday lunch for seven with US vegan/veggie friends. Service superb. Food went down very well with veggies and non-veggies! Puddings very interesting. Excellent beer choice, as usual. The only problem was noise; the pub has hard walls/floor, so it was hard to have a conversation. That said, the choice of music was great!

The Yorkshire pudding was golden and crisp, the roast potatoes were beautifully done—crispy on the outside and soft within—and the vegetables were fresh and seasoned just right. The rich, savoury gravy tied everything together in what can only be described as a truly exceptional Sunday roast. While the service was friendly throughout, there was a brief period where things slowed down slightly due to a shift change between wait staff. That said, the staff remained courteous and attentive, and it didn’t detract significantly from the overall experience. It’s easy to see why The Mall Tavern is considered one of the top destinations for Sunday lunch in London. The combination of quality cuisine, inviting atmosphere, and genuine hospitality makes this a standout location. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone seeking a quintessentially British Sunday roast done to perfection.

We came here for Easter to have Sunday Roast. It was perfect. The atmosphere, cider, vegan wellington, sticky toffee pudding. Everything ! I will definitely frequent again on my next holiday. Cheers!

Squeezed us in on Easter Sunday - a party of 7. Everything was great right from the start of beer recommendation, to the excellent Sunday roasts. We also had oysters and wings for appetizers - both great. Roasts and accompaniments were fantastic, service was top notch, everyone was friendly and helpful. One member of our party stated their best meal in London, another who is living in London is planning to go back asap. Highly recommend!!

As a group of Americans in London on Easter, we weren’t sure what to do for dinner. Found this place recommended in a TIme Out article and what a find! Didn’t get off to a great start as they were crazy busy and it took a while for a server - which ended up being the owner. However it all ended up being amazing. The Sunday roast dinners were delicious and our pudding was homemade tiramisu served out of a baking dish with chocolate eggs thrown in as an Easter bonus. Throw in some local character as this is obviously a neighborhood spot. Loved it!

We read the reviews and made the booking. Sunday lunch @3pm-Service was exceptional and we were seated with a small delay. The Roast Beef was superb. After 3pm things start to calm and the place takes on a much more relaxed air-Oh and the beer selection is amazing!

The perfect place to spend a sunday lunch chatting, having fun and eating amazing food! Both the beef and pork belly roasts were absolutely delicious (and had the best crispy roast potatoes I've ever eaten!) and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for.

Coming from the North a mere 15 years ago, I had given up trying to find great Fish & Chips in London, until that is, I had them at the Mall Tavern. To call them very nice does them an injustice, as they were fantastic. Keep up the great work. Also, I don't take photograph's of food or drink, because I find it to be tedious, but let it be known, that even without a photograph, the quality is well and truly there.

La comida era muy buena también con nuestros dos platos vacíos al final. En cuanto al precio, probablemente más alto que la media, pero es un pub de gestión familiar con buenas bebidas y ofertas de comida con un personal amable tan feliz de encomiar y volver a tales establecimientos.

You'll almost always find seating, and the beer selection is amazing. Lots of different craft beers! A bit expensive, but really good.

Came for the Sunday roast. Plenty of food, fun atmosphere and great service. Pints are cold, beef is rare and gravy is fully of flavor.

Ove this pub and the service is great. Cocktails very nice but just avoid the Amaretto sour, not the best.

We came to London for a brief holiday and read that the Mall Tavern has a great Sunday roast ….. and truth be told it’s the best we’ve ever had!! I highly recommend it. We will return!

Endroit chaleureux, tout était bon, des cocktail en passant par le choix de bières qui s’accorde parfaitement avec les plats tous bon et copieux, mention spécial pour la tourte « steack and stout pie » à tomber la renverse.

We felt really well looked after (4 adults, 2 young kids), the food was excellent and the service was unusually personable for London. It felt like the family community service you would get in a small village but with the buzz and quality of London. We were moved table after the first didn’t quite work for us and we had a gorgeous meal. Highly recommend.

There are a surprising amount of top-notch pubs in Notting Hill – but the Mall Tavern really appeals to me. Not only is the music always great (played out of some vintage Celestion speakers above the bar) but there's a brilliant live blues night in the basement every Thursday night. It's free and we had a great night down there the other week. The Mall Tavern also has one of the best curated selection of craft beers I've found in a single pub. Get stuck into pilsners, pales, IPAS, sours and specials from breweries including FLOC, DEYA, Pressure Drop, The Kernel, Sierra Nevada and more. Oh, and I should mention that the double patty cheeseburgers, Korean chicken wings and scotch eggs are totally legit too. Absolute banger of a boozer!

Great roast, great service and staff.

Decent place with a good selection of beers and ales. My only criticism is that the staff are a bit clueless, we had to ask for water for the table three times and they just ignored request for the burgers to come with no sauce or onions. Food was nice however once my friend and I removed the bits we didn't want (due to food intolerances)

The problem of all restaurants in Granada. They hire a poor waiter to run 20 tables. They are not enough. The fish was well fried.

Fantastic beer festival, and just the most fantastic venue. Spent 5 hours in the basement near the IPAs, could say it was by design but who am I to say what’s what. Phenomenal time.

The Mall is a unique pub in London. The owner makes a point to have beers on tap that you won’t find in any other pub and runs special events constantly that add variety to a normal night. Would recommend to anyone that is local or visiting.

I do the weekly run club which is great fun and always followed by a few pints. Food is also top notch with great specials being served up regularly. Cozy pub, great draft list, fantastic food- might be my favorite local.

If I could rate this zero I would. The bartender is very rude and they all have attitude. The pub STINKS of fish and the atmosphere is disgusting. I hate it here, NEVER GO

Roastbeef was disappointing, which is tough and not flavorfull. They have delicious tiramisu that I can recommend.

A cosy little pub hidden away in Notting Hill. A fantastic beer menu, you'll definitely find something for everyone! I'd recommend the Pilsner München. There was also a cute restaurant, which we didn't try, but I'd love to give it a go.

The food was wonderful. Unfortunately, the tall lady manager we were dealing with was utterly rude to us and our table, likely due to something else bothering her. Sadly, this ruined the experience at Mall Tavern. In such situations, professionalism is essential so I felt I had to write a review since this wasnt on nor our fault.

A real gem of a pub. Geat range of beer, great staff, live music, and the landlord is a smashing bloke. Been coming for a year for the Thursday music and been meaning to have the pie for 2. Tried the brisket starter and steak pie/burgers with family and the Mall Tavern delivered on all fronts - superb all round! Highly recommended.

Love stopping by the Mall Tavern for a roast or pint when visiting London! The family that owns the pub is so friendly and you can tell they work hard to cultivate the local atmosphere!

We enjoyed our meal - good quality food and friendly service. There was a small snafu with my friend’s meal that came quite late but the staff were apologetic and things happen. Overall would happily return!

Stopped at The Mall Tavern with my daughter following a couple hours' walk to get a little warm, have a pint and a little to eat for lunch. We were not disappointed. The pint was delicious, the wings were a delight and everyone made you feel welcome. It was not very busy in the early afternoon, so we sat in the spot we wanted. The interior isn't modern, but is "cozy" while not feeling too old, staying true to the era -- and everything is clean! A happy, nice lady who smiles while helping you always is a bonus in my book -- so, if I am in London long enough, I will definitely make another visit.

I've been craving Sunday Roast in London and finally got one this trip. It was incredible. I left SOOOO happy. The potatoes were perfectly crispy. The gravy was rich and savory. The roast was absolutely on point. I loved every bit. The best sticky toffee pudding I've ever had! Amazing service and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

12 of us went to celebrate a couple of our birthdays on a freezing Saturday evening in January. We thought the place would be quiet but it was really busy, with a great lively atmosphere! We had booked the table a few weeks ahead and gone through the menus with the lovely manageress who couldn't have been more helpful to make it special. We all ate a la carte and the food was excellent, all the diners said the same. The service was prompt and friendly. I'm definitely going back to try the roast chicken Sunday lunch! 😊

The Sunday Roast is to die for. I had chicken as main course and sticky toffee pudding as dessert. Delicious. And the service and the staff are so friendly. Warmly recommended.

Sunday lunch experience was great. The beef was delicious and plentiful and the pork was outstanding with crispy crackling. The scotch egg was runny and delicious. Croquettes great too. Best food we’ve had from a Sunday lunch for a while. The fish from the fish and chips smelt very strong and I didn’t eat it but not one of the staff asked me why. The service from staff was sporadic. There were a lot of staff but not very attentive. Not rude but not overly polite. The decor was ok with a good atmosphere but quite a few tiles are cracked and leave a slightly too lived in feel. A small refresh would add a lot. Overall the lunch was great and we will come again.
