The Mall Tavern in Kensington and Chelsea

We hired the cellar out for my wife's birthday party and had about 35 guests. Perfect setting with great food and drinks. Cellar has plenty of space and staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Couldn't recommend anymore!

I booked the private room for my birthday celebrations and it was perfect. The food is excellent as is the wine and beer selection. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The lovely waitress helped my daughter put up some decorations and brought me dessert on the house. They also let us stay in the room all evening. It was such a great way to celebrate my birthday and I highly recommend it!

A beautiful pub - nice and cosy with a good wine list. Staff are very friendly too. The roast is delicious though a maybe a bit on the pricey give (particularly given the portions seem to have shrunk). I also preferred the nut roast they used to serve vs the nut roast wellington they do now tbh.

So glad that we found The Mall Tavern. They have an extensive selection of excellent ales, stouts and lagers and a guy in charge who really cares about his beers. The food was great too. We had Sunday roast beef which was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and to top it off the music was great and not too loud. We certainly hope to return next year. A highly recommended pub.

This is the best place for a Sunday roast! The food is incredible, and the service is so friendly and helpful in deciding on what to drink with lunch too. Impressive beer and wine selection, and all reasonably priced. The atmosphere is ultra-local (one of the owners walked an older lady home following her meal) but also buzzy and fun. You may also encounter cute dogs. Get the Sunday roast beef and sticky toddy pudding for dessert!

Excellent pub and amazing staff!

Had dinner there on a Wednesday night. Dinningroom was about half full but even so the place has a nice buzz. The food menu is quite small be everything our party tried was delicious. Super attentive and helpful staff. Good selection of beers on tap.

Delicious Sunday roasts all round, one of the most accommodating venues I've ever come across for kids (meals, cutlery, drawing - you name it!) and such genuinely great staff. Couldn't recommend The Mall Tavern more!

We booked the private dining room for my partner's birthday and it was wonderful! Nati and her team are so welcoming - throughout the booking process Nati was so accommodating and helpful &on the day the lovely Aiva looked after a chaotic 23 of us absolutely amazingly, going above and beyond. Every one of us remarked on the service so thank you so much guys! The food was also absolutely top tier and the private room set up was gorgeous . Couldn't recommend enough, thanks again! xx

I spent two hours walking from Chelsea searching for a place to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast without a reservation, and I finally found the perfect spot! After feeling a bit defeated, I arrived and immediately asked, "Is Sunday roast available?" When they replied, "Of course, just sit wherever you like," it felt like the gates of heaven had opened! Not only did they have Sunday roast on the menu, but the roast beef was incredibly tender. I think the Yorkshire pudding was even more delicious than any I’ve tasted before in York. The staff welcomed me warmly, and the salsa sauce—recommended by the staff—was absolutely delightful. I was determined to experience this British tradition before my departure, and I realized that enjoying Sunday roast at a pub without a reservation is quite a challenge. However, this place gave me a truly special experience. I can honestly say this has been the best Sunday roast of my life, and I have a feeling it will always be my top choice moving forward. Cheers to this gem! I love it! Thanks to you all, I’ve fallen even more in love with Britain.

1st time in this lovely family run business in Notting hill. Booked it for my birthday lunch and Natalia and Andy could not have been so welcoming. I have a catering business so know what goes on behind the scenes but they accommodated everyone's requests, even when every seat in the venue was taken. Food was excellent and well worth the price and all the staff, working very hard, but did not miss a trick. Well done to you all and thanks for making this such an enjoyable day

What an amazing place to experience my very first Sunday roast! I had an absolutely phenomenal meal here—everything I had was fantastic and I would order it again without question. I highly recommend the brisket croquettes. They were cheesy and when dipped in the horseradish sauce, it got even better. The chicken and roast beef were both excellent. Well salted and perfectly cooked, I loved the chicken with the gravy and roast beef with the horseradish. To finish, I definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding. It was warm and I hope to come back to try the tiramasu. Good idea to make a reservation for earlier in the day so they don’t run out of any roasts or desserts you might want!

One of the best roasts I’ve had in London. Great team who made space for us when it was super busy and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Excellent range of beer. Will be back soon.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the mall tavern. We booked a table for 12 people for a birthday celebration, only to find out that they had barely any food available! They had only one portion of prawns, one fish and chips, and one seabass left, which is ridiculous for a large group booking. It’s clear they didn’t take food supplies into account, yet still accepted our reservation for 12 people. Instead of addressing the situation with some professionalism, the staff were extremely rude and dismissive about it. The manager called Nati, was beyond rude. At one point, she actually said to a friend, “Stop touching the candle, unless you want to clean the table yourself, be my guest.” I’ve never encountered anything so disrespectful from restaurant staff before. To top it off, it was my friend’s birthday, and we brought a cake to celebrate. They charged us an outrageous £5 per person for the cake, in a pub of all places! We ended up paying £60 just to serve our own cake, which cost more than the cake itself. This place clearly has no regard for customer service or planning. I do not recommend this place at all. It feels like the customers are treated like an inconvenience, and the rude waitress only made the whole experience worse. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else that values their guests.

This place was amazing, the service, the food and the people so accommodating. We happened to score the night they had music. Met the owner Andy he was so friendly. Love this place! It’s a must do when in London!

Absolute disgrace, waited a hour and a half for delivery, spoke to staff and seems like a shambles of an operation, I like the food but can’t be dealing with the incompetent staff running things, this is not the first I’ve waited a long time for an order, shape up, I won’t be back for a while!

Used the cellar for a community gathering when our usual venue was unavailable. Nati, Andy and their team went out of their way to accomodate us. Really special downstairs venue. Everyone loved the vegetarian platters from Chef Lucas. We'll definitely be using this again!

Visiting from the States and went here 2 days in row. Such nice people and amazing food. If I lived in the neighborhood I’d be here every week. Highly recommend the Haddock and the Oysters.

Wanted to try for a long time but never got round to it, walked in and despite being Sunday and busy Natty whom I assume was the manager found us a space. Had a delicious roast beef lunch and my son loved his pasta. All the staff were excellent, the beers impressive too. Shall be back!

A lovely Sunday lunch. We'd been in for a drink on Saturday, and after the warm welcome and friendliness of the staff then, we decided to come back for our lunch the next day. We weren't disappointed. The beef was great, as was the vegetarian nut wellington. We felt at home and not like the tourists we were!

Horrendous administrator who doesn’t care about guests, has no idea what she’s doing, has some Spanish accent or something. Wasn’t able to respond if she accepts walk ins or bookings. A few tables being free, she said I can use them - guess what no one showed up any time soon. She also came and said the horrible “sorry I have a guest coming” when my phone was just charging on the floor, “We can’t do that now”. I was far from the table at the bar. I sat at the bar and observed her and realised it’s not just me - the way she treats employees and clients is unacceptable. What a pub this was. And with people like this it’s sent to hell

Really hit the spot, but expensive

Went here for Sunday dinner. Really wanted yorkshire pudding and prime rib dinner. This place did not disappoint. Everything was amazing. Best meal on our visit so far. Highly recommend.

The staff are really impolite, rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate. I went for dinner on Sunday afternoon and even the manager, Ms Nati P, acted very rude to me and my friends, she even acted disrespectful to me when I asked for an extra chair. All of a sudden the manager came to my desk, spying on my phone, seeing me putting review on the google, and blackmailing me for writing my honest review. Super unprofessional and discriminatory behaviour! I will Never visit this place again, the attitude was unacceptable and awful. The manager, Ms Nati P(not sure writing her name correctly) stood at our table for at least 10 minutes shouting at me, while I asked her multiple times to leave us and have this conversation after our dinner, and she ignored my request!!! Never have seen such thing in my life!!!

Beautiful Saturday Afternoon and enjoyed splitting a wonderful fish and chips, good beer, friendly service and great sound track to the music. It’s crowded at all. It’s all perfect for a London Pub.

Great Sunday night dinner with friends; the roast beef was very good indeed. Great choice of beers and the service was very friendly. The only slight downside is that it can be noisy inside the restaurant area, but quietened down as the night went on.

Fantastic experience and excellent Sunday roast

We went for our first ever Sunday roast (we don’t typically do this in the States) and we were in the right place! We chose the traditional aged beef and it came with all the fixings. The Yorkshire pudding was so light and delicious as were the accompanying roast carrot, gravy, roast potatoes, and cabbage. The gravy was perfect— so flavorful and light. We shared the Tiramisu from the Tray. One of the best I’ve ever had (and have had many). Best way to have been inaugurated into this lovely Sunday tradition!

Food is incredible, always get a 2nd serving of croquettes! Service is always friendly and helpful

Top marks to The Mall Tavern for phoning ahead of our booking on Sunday night to pre-order the Sunday Roast when it was running out! We still missed the Beef, but will return to try again. The chicken roast was excellent, moist and full of flavour. Two of our party shared the pie as an alternative due to limited menu options and this was incredible! There’s an extensive beer menu that’s been well sourced (I had one of the Deya Brewery IPAs).

Ignore the No Entry street sign - go right in for a great off-piste experience. Incredible array of beers, very friendly staff and a kicking soundtrack. Will be going back for food and live music ASAP.

Being from Chicago we wanted to experience true fish & chips. The Mall Tavern's were excellent! If we're ever in Notting Hill, we definitely stop in.

This cosy classic pub has some amazing services. Great selection of craft beer with owners that are very knowledgeable and hospitable. Highly recommend this place if you are a craft beer connoisseur!

The young lad serving was polite and welcoming. Unlike the security /doorman lied about tickets only but back tracked when challenged. In fact he was rude and discriminated against us. What if we didn’t have the courage to stand our ground. Yes it was bank holiday Monday but it wasn’t particularly busy inside. And he lied. Fries were great - once they arrived. Food overall OK. Best thing was the Pimms.

Excellent food: classic pub dishes interpreted great and tastefully. Apple cider is delicious - but the specialty should be craft beer. Service is very attentive and friendly. We asked about any intolerances when ordering. Live music on Thursdays, if I understood correctly.

Holy croquettes Batman! On a random trip to London, after a random recommendation walking down the street, we visited here for food. After this visit I want to come to London every month. The food was exceptional, my wife had the fish and chips and purely from the size my jaw dropped, bit the taste...the batter was crisp and light but thick and not greasy, the fish itself melted in the mouth. The chips that accompanied it were better than your grandmother made in an old fashioned chip pan, crisp and again not greasy, fluffy in the middle with the perfect amount of seasoning. I had the bacon cheese burger and would happily eat it every day. For a side we had the beef croquettes...I can't actually put into words how amazing they are, and the horseradish mayo that accompanied was so smooth with just the right amount of heat, my wife how despises horseradish mopped the last of it up with her chips. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and patient, our son has ADHD and a slight aversion to trying new foods, and they sat and helped him choose what to have. If I could pick this pub up and take it home to be my local I would, what an amazing place.

We didn’t have the best experience here. We went on the Sunday of Notting Hill Carnival. My partner is mixed race and we were met with an unfriendly team. Everyone else was allowed to go in, but we were stopped and questioned as to what we were doing there. We only wanted soft drinks. We were eventually let in when the manager was looking us up and down and said we must have our IDs checked even though we wanted soft drinks. The bar staff also seemed confused as to why this needed to be done. It was a very unfriendly atmosphere due to the manager which made us very uncomfortable.

Ridiculous snooty overpriced pub. They only serve their regulars and everybody can just stand there being ignored. I’ve never seen such disrespectful staff and management. Don’t waste your money.

Lovely pub and surprise deli. Had a couple of drinks waiting for friends to turn up and it was so pleasant I regretted not staying. It has a very good selection of drinks and seeing Kernel on draught had me sold. Awesome little deli selection of charcuterie and cheese etc. That was a nice surprise as well.

Tourist from USA walking around the area and found this gem. Wonderful outdoor and inside seating. Laid back. Local favorite from the looks of it. Attentive service and amazing food - had the haddock fish and chips and my mom had the chop salad. The salad was nothing like a US chopped salad and it was amazing, very fresh and delicious.

A perfect family pub- I have two small children and they promptly brought over a high chair and coloring for my kids! The food was fantastic & some of the best fish n chips in town!

My wife and I had a day in London due to some issued with our Air line. went around and explored and knew we wanted to go to a pub for dinner. we got the Scotch egg, Brisket croquettes and Steak and stout pie and everything was the favorite! if you visiting London definitely worth a try!!

Drinks are mega expensive, but that's what you get for central London. Tap prices are not listed so you need to ask "how much is this pint?" And "how much is that pint?" The pint of hazy ipa was one of the best and pricey I've ever had 14£

We enjoyed a great experience here. This was our first meal in London during our stay and I highly recommend this place for a good beer, traditional fish&ships (yummyyyy). Nati and the staff were super welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Great service, good music, cozy environment. Come here you will not regret!

Very nice place where people make you feel welcome. The Fish&Chips was huge and very good… As you see nothing was left on my plate. 😃 And I loved being given the chance to try the beer before ordering it. I usually don’t like beer but theirs was really nice.

Charming gastropub. Burger is excellent, and perfect frittes (i.e chips, fries). nice candlelit vibe….and speaking of candlelight- long wait times tempted a few in my party to play with the wax to fend off boredom …earning them a scolding from the waitstaff. ;-)

A fine free house with a superb selection of beers on tap and bottled. But what really sets this pub apart is the excellent food - whether you just want some casual finger food or a proper roast, the food is delicious. My favorites (besides the roast): The croquettes and the chicken wings; and main courses the pie and cheeseburger. The cheeseburger alone is better than most dedicated burger joints in London. Now it is pricey but taste the croquettes and you understand why. I paid £50pp including two drinks and a starter + main. The tables outside are on a first-come-first-serve basis - there are tables by the road and they have a terrace too. I prefer the road ones. Lastly, their cocktails and wines are decent as well. Oh and do try to croquettes!
