The people were extremely nice and took care of us quickly! We got the Cod Bites and they were DELISH! 10/10 recommend this quiet atmosphere if you choose to sit down or you can quickly take out food at the front. Either way, must try!

very good fish & chips... After two years we return to London and come back specifically here for their fish and chips. There were 11 of us and we were split up over several tables as the place is small we could hardly expect to be all together. In any case everything was as excellent as the previous time. We were really well, excellent fish and we joked with the owner (I suppose) who enjoyed speaking to us in Italian. When we return to London we will visit again very gladly.

Nice little restaurant where you don't come out smelling of fried food after eating fish and chips! The fish was good and well breaded. The fries a little too thick for my taste but it goes well with the sauce and the pea puree.

Sam took great care of us and the food was spectacular.

Small local restaurant, take away order for us but we can stay and eat on site. The pies are good, the fish and chips too, the portions are quite generous.

Sorry to burst a review bubble. I was barely greeted about 5pm. It was as if I had interrupted a conversation between the owners. There wasn't anyone else in the place. I was shown a table, given a menu and asked if I knew what I wanted. Being new here, I asked for a moment and then ordered. The food was delivered hot, steaming and a great portion of fish. Yum. Finger food. I was given one napkin. When I finally got the attention of the woman working there and asked for some napkins; a stack was brought out Sorry for bothering you for some service. The Fish House had been suggested to me by a friend in the states. Good food, not good service. I'll suggest take out to anyone.

Fish and chips more than fine after a stroll in Portobello, the waiter was adorable and took good care of us. The value for money is very satisfactory. The products are good, special mention for the nuggets from the children's menu which were very good.

Visited this establishment on a quick trip to London. I found it after doing research for a good authentic fish and chips shop and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is very small and quaint which give me vibes that I was in the right place. We tried both the cod and haddock and both were well prepared and tasty. I would definitely go again. The service was quick and the staff relatively pleasant. Felt like I made a good choice for a traditional English meal.

Went there because I came to London for a short trip and didn’t want to leave without having tried some fish & chips. This place was definitely the right choice!! Great food (had cod & chips + chicken bites), great prices and most importantly, great service!!! Very nice and kind staff who made the experience even better! 10/10 would recommend :)

It was my first time eating fish and chips and it was quite delicious. The staff was very friendly and there was a lot of food left, but the price was a bit expensive.

We ended our trip by eating traditional fish and chips. The haddock was cooked to perfection, very tasty and reasonably priced. The fries were out of this world. We also opted for onion rings, oh my god, delicious! I highly recommend this place. Book beforehand to avoid disappointment. Take-outs also available but why don't you take a deserved break and eat-in instead.

We passed by by chance and ordered the typical fish and chips. The restaurant is small. They took good care of us and served us quickly. The food was good. Each dish has calories specified, and we were surprised that a normal serving has... 1350! The bill was £55 for three courses and three soft drinks. If we return to London and walk through Notting Hill we will pass through again.

It is an establishment that is too touristy and has lost its originality. The waiters have no empathy and the prices are very expensive. Other fish and chip shops in London are better and cheaper.

Visited on a nice quiet day for lunchtime. Servers were kind and polite. The food was quite decent, but if you’re expecting something gourmet then it’s not. Fish was nicely cooked, chips a little bit softer than usual crispy used to, but were good. Calamari bites tasted good.

What an amazing experience I had at the Fishhouse of Notting Hill! The reception was warm and the fish was absolutely piping hot! My first time having fish and chips and definitely my go to spot from here on out. I highly recommend it. I did the manager special, which is a great trial of what this wonderful restaurant has to offer! I highly recommend !

I visited today and had a fish and chips+ scampi and chips. Scampi were undercooked and wet inside. Chips of my and my husband where dreadful. Soggy and look warm. Fish was ok but butter was very dark as if the oil was old. It used to be a better quality but really gone down hill. Very sorry because I really fancy a fish & chips now and again

Had the Fish and Chips. Fish was delicious but the chips were not good at all. Nice location, very friendly and helpful staff.

This was our first meal after arriving in London from LA in June 2024. We ordered the cod and haddock with chips and the portions were pretty large. The batter was light and crispy and the fish nice and moist. The chips were good. Our waiter, Philip, couldn't really explain what the difference between the cod and haddock was, but he did try, and was interested in our opinion after we tasted both. We liked the haddock a little better--it was a bit tastier. We enjoyed our meal and the service and would come back again when we are back in London.

If you want the best and old style fish n chips this is the place. Mariah makes you feel right at home. The fish was tender and hot. The chips were crunchy good.

The fries were made in rancid (bad) oil. I only noticed it when we opened the takeo out at the playground.

The haddock and chips were hands down the best I've tasted so far. Service was slow and atmosphere could use some improvement but the food is what will keep me coming back.

Probably the main takeaway? A fish and chips shop with an eat-in space in the back. Cod is freshly fried with crispy batter and is very delicious. The potatoes were also nice and crunchy to my liking. I went there when I wasn't that hungry, but even though we shared the food, I was able to eat it all in one go. There is a very friendly clerk. The reason for the one less star is that I ordered two types of beer, one of which was too lukewarm. It was so lukewarm that I wanted to return it.

Some of, if not the best fish and chips i’ve had in London, got the battered sausage for myself also and it was absolutely phenomenal, my girlfriend got the chicken nuggets and was so shocked at how good they were even a few hours after getting them initially (had to wait a bit as it’s very hearty filling food). The two men behind the counter were very chatty and nice i’ll defintely be returning again if i’m in the area!

This is a fish and chips specialty store where you can choose the size and type of fish. It's crispier than expected and delicious. The atmosphere is casual and good for a light meal.
