Maybe I just don't like the British style of f&c but the batter just comes off the fish (I think it's wet batter) also it has a weird taste to it. So do the fries. No hot sauce or cocktail sauce but maybe that's just how they eat it. They only have tartar sauce

Good food, plenty of quantity and the price was not bad (£17 for a large plate, £16 for a medium one). All the workers are very friendly and the place is beautiful.

Although it looks small, the food is delicious. The entire service was fast and good, they even gave us the leftovers to take away in a very nice little box.

The fish is really excellent, crispy breading on the outside and soft and well cooked fish on the inside. The accompanying sauce pairs perfectly with the fish. Very fast service, prices decidedly average, if not lower than other places where they serve fish and chips. Highly recommended for a good and quick lunch in Notting Hill.

The service is generally fast and the dishes are very well served. They come in whole steak and “fingers” versions. It was a great option during our visit to Notting Hill (we wouldn’t go there just to eat here). The place is cozy and comfortable. My family had a great experience trying this authentic British dish! Ps: he’s 1 year old.

Happy discovery! If you are looking for Fish and Chips it is the right place, not too crowded, large dishes at the right price and very good. Light and crunchy fish breading. The service is also excellent, they are very kind without being invasive. Perfect for a lunch break on Portobello Road!

We ordered the regular cod - it was more than enough for 2 people. The service was great and Sam was very personable and treated every customer like they were family. I would recommend this place!

I have tried a number of fish and chips in the UK and most of them are average. The fish and chips in this restaurant were above average. I wouldn’t say they are very delicious but I believe it is worth to try one. In addition, the coffee here was nice which surprised me. The environment was comfortable and the restaurant was quiet. Plenty of seats and tables provided inside. Nice staff with efficient services. Price was acceptable. Would definitely visit here again.

Visited The Fish House on a Saturday, and as expected, it was quite busy. The restaurant is located in a very touristy area, which adds to the lively atmosphere but also means it can get a bit crowded. The food was good, with fresh flavours and portion sizes were generous, the prices felt reasonable given the quality and quantity.

A FUIR ET TRÈS VITE Omg pire endroit de notre existence ! Fuyez vraiment ! Entre toiles d’araignées et odeur de vielles fritures l’endroit de fait pas rêver ! Ne vous fiez pas aux commentaires, c’était vraiment mais vraiment pas bon ; on a payé TRÈS CHER pour ne rien manger tant c’était infâme, le poisson n’a pas de goût, la friture est vraiment immonde ; quant aux personnels, pas forcément très aimable.

Nous avons choisi ce restaurant car beaucoup d'avis positifs A peine entrées, nous sommes surprises par l'odeur forte de l'huile de friture. On nous installe dans une mini salle car celle du dernier étage n'est pas accessible. On nous amène notre fish And chips et là surprise désagréable : frites surgelées de mauvaise qualité, friture qui sent très fort l'huile. Nous n'avons pas terminé, très déçues de notre dernier restaurant sur Londres pour un prix qui ne reflète pas la qualité (30e pour 2 fish's)

If you can’t handle your own booking system, is that somehow the customers’ responsibility? If you’re unable to check your system on time, should we be the ones to take the blame? Instead of pointing fingers at your customers, maybe redirect that energy toward fixing your broken website. Are we supposed to apologize for daring to make a modification? Because, frankly, your lack of competence sounds like a massive YOU problem.

The people were extremely nice and took care of us quickly! We got the Cod Bites and they were DELISH! 10/10 recommend this quiet atmosphere if you choose to sit down or you can quickly take out food at the front. Either way, must try!

very good fish & chips... After two years we return to London and come back specifically here for their fish and chips. There were 11 of us and we were split up over several tables as the place is small we could hardly expect to be all together. In any case everything was as excellent as the previous time. We were really well, excellent fish and we joked with the owner (I suppose) who enjoyed speaking to us in Italian. When we return to London we will visit again very gladly.

Nice little restaurant where you don't come out smelling of fried food after eating fish and chips! The fish was good and well breaded. The fries a little too thick for my taste but it goes well with the sauce and the pea puree.

Small local restaurant, take away order for us but we can stay and eat on site. The pies are good, the fish and chips too, the portions are quite generous.

Sorry to burst a review bubble. I was barely greeted about 5pm. It was as if I had interrupted a conversation between the owners. There wasn't anyone else in the place. I was shown a table, given a menu and asked if I knew what I wanted. Being new here, I asked for a moment and then ordered. The food was delivered hot, steaming and a great portion of fish. Yum. Finger food. I was given one napkin. When I finally got the attention of the woman working there and asked for some napkins; a stack was brought out Sorry for bothering you for some service. The Fish House had been suggested to me by a friend in the states. Good food, not good service. I'll suggest take out to anyone.

We passed by by chance and ordered the typical fish and chips. The restaurant is small. They took good care of us and served us quickly. The food was good. Each dish has calories specified, and we were surprised that a normal serving has... 1350! The bill was £55 for three courses and three soft drinks. If we return to London and walk through Notting Hill we will pass through again.

Sam gave us a delightful haddock and chips with accompanying bottle of white. Great food and great service. Haven’t had English fish and chips for years and this certainly hit the spot. Thanks Sam.

Visited on a nice quiet day for lunchtime. Servers were kind and polite. The food was quite decent, but if you’re expecting something gourmet then it’s not. Fish was nicely cooked, chips a little bit softer than usual crispy used to, but were good. Calamari bites tasted good.

What an amazing experience I had at the Fishhouse of Notting Hill! The reception was warm and the fish was absolutely piping hot! My first time having fish and chips and definitely my go to spot from here on out. I highly recommend it. I did the manager special, which is a great trial of what this wonderful restaurant has to offer! I highly recommend !

I visited today and had a fish and chips+ scampi and chips. Scampi were undercooked and wet inside. Chips of my and my husband where dreadful. Soggy and look warm. Fish was ok but butter was very dark as if the oil was old. It used to be a better quality but really gone down hill. Very sorry because I really fancy a fish & chips now and again
