Evie gave us a great service. She made us feel very looked after. Food was delish too.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Adam was able to quickly find us a table and served us exceptionally all evening, even while the pub was busy.

This is my first time in this establishment and it certainly won’t be my last. Adam has been looking after us all night and his hospitality has been second to none. He offered table service for drinks without even having to ask. He has looked after us all night. I would recommend this place to anyone, make sure you ask for Adam as he will be the best waiter there is. 11/10

Great place, my only complaint is that they (seemingly) offer every single table for reservation, even on Fridays and Saturdays, which means the walk in crowd are often turfed out of seats and forced to bunch up by the bar/stairs. It's not hugely welcoming for passing trade.

We came for a family Christmas Eve meal and had a great time. The food was wonderful, the staff were friendly and professional and we really enjoyed ourselves. All 6 of us loved it. We preordered the week before and the staff knew who was having what, which made everything nice and easy. I come here fairly often and always have a good experience. The beer is fairly expensive but pretty standard for Clifton. The food is good value and though it's not a large menu, they always have a lovely range of vegetarian, vegan and meat options as well as traditional pub food, fresher sorts of dishes and different cuisines.

Had Sunday lunch. Both the Slow Roast Pork and Veg Wellington were very good, very tasty and portions were good. Nice warm corner by the log burner and good service throughout. Meals were £17.50 and £18.50

Booked here for New Year’s Eve and they were very accommodating and increased the hours of the booking. Staff were kind and attentive! Will definitely be back here soon.

We recently went to The Mall for their sharing roast dinner. We had a mixture of roast beef, chicken, and lamb rump with all the trimmings. We thought The Mall was really good value for money and the staff were super friendly - defo recommend!

The Mall pub hosted our office Christmas meal and party for us this December. Oriana, Harry, Joe and the team were so helpful throughout the planning process. They helped us arrange a fabulous evening and all the little details covered made for a great event. The food was amazing and all of our large party dietary requirements were catered for. A wonderful space and a wonderful place with top notch service. Go ahead and book, The Mall team will look after you!!

I booked a table with the help of Oriane who so kindly sorted everything out for my staff party. She made it so easy and painless and on not the longest of notice either - very helpful and professional. Food was amazing and tasty with hardly any waiting time with vegan options also The pub itself is super cosy and relaxed with a lovely Christmassy vibe. All the staff were helpful and did a wonderful job. Will definitely be back :)

We were on the hunt for a new spot to enjoy Sunday lunch, and The Mall turned out to be a fantastic choice! We tried the Beef, Pork, and a Children's Chicken meal, and all were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right. The atmosphere downstairs was charming, with its cozy vibe, its own bar, and easy access to the lovely garden patio. It was excellent value for money, and we’re already looking forward to dining here again soon.

Really nice pub! We visited on a Tuesday night and had some great food. It took about 40 minutes to come out so not super speedy but really yummy dishes. We had the grilled sea bass, fish and chips, chorizo starter, miso chicken skewers and gochugang cauliflower. Will deffo come back for more! Also dog friendly ☺️

Came here for our daughter's engagement party. The music was (the usual) too loud for an occasion like that, but the food was amazing. (I had prawn linguine, my husband fish and chips.) The staff on Saturday night was super friendly and the food just delicious 😋!

The place feels cosy and atmospheric and has a good selection of beverages. We had a lovely lady serving us, super friendly and helpful and made excellent cocktails, which many places completely fail at! So thank you, a lovely night for me and my pals! :)

Great atmosphere with a good range of drinks - beer, wine, spirits etc. And because its Christmas, mulled wine!

Always a great location to drink, with an amazing selection of beers. Plenty of space too. There were some noisy kids that were a bit annoying, but I suppose that isn't the pub's fault. We ate some small plates, my goat's cheese salad was excellent.

Pleasant enough 'gastro' pub, which welcomes dogs. However £18 for fish&chips which came out straight from the freezer and got fried in over used oil is pretty questionable!

We had a great evening at The Mall for my daughter's wedding. We had the top floor booked after a small wedding (30) for an informal, end of the most wonderful day, it was perfect. Great atmosphere, fantastic service and a fun place to be!!!

Harry, Oriane, Gerry and the team really looked after us. We had a lovely birthday lunch for a group of 12 and we were really impressed with the food. The pre-ordering option was really useful. Organising the whole thing was really easy and communications were great.

Had a Sunday roast - Chef Asa I believe, the roast was delicious and well cooked, went in with my friend on a Sunday and we had a brilliant time, the service was fantastic and the drinks were delish! I will definitely be recommending! 10/10

I find it very upsetting how a pub which has a great food offering allows a large table to bring in a takeaway from a local chip shop, after letting a member of staff know about eh situation they said its okay because they come in often and spend a lot of money. Pathetic

Updating my last review because we came back and it’s even better than last time! Lovely to see Harry and his lovely girlfriend are still there and welcoming as ever. The food was amazing (we both had the pie!) and the staff were fab, really looked after us. Especially Gabe who helped us pick the best cocktails. The Mall gave us a discount voucher after a previous visit which made the meal incredible value for money. The staff were really pleasant and attentive. Enjoyed the atmosphere with European football on. Loved this visit.

Top class food and service- very busy Saturday but no issues.

Reasonably priced food but didn't feel it was anything different or exceptional and extortionately priced drinks, 1 pint of lager and 1 large glass of wine cost just under £21 (incidentally it was the end of the bottle of wine and the serving poured didn't go all the way to the top of the measuring cup and yet was still happy to serve as it was... I thought serving a short measure was an illegal practice)... I don't mind paying for an experience but to be blunt there was no atmosphere, the bench seats had lost all their filling/spring and so I felt like a primary school kid needing a cushion and considering the cost of the drinks I'm sure they can afford to fix the leaks and staining around the skylight. Seems to be another place that's relying on it's location rather than what it has to offer itself... if I was taken there blindfolded once inside I could have been at a chain pub at a motorway services, in fact a ball pit and some crayons may have actually improved the experience. Thank god I was with great company!

I would definitely recommend this place to a friend, such a lovely warm place. Very comfortable seating and loving live music, the food was amazing and Oriane was amazing service and i would definitely come again (as i have multiple times)!!!!!

We had an absolutely amazing afternoon at the pub ! Coming in from a rainy walk we were welcomed to our table being ready before our scheduled time ! Started with a cup of tea and hot chocolate followed by a wonderful roast dinner and some yummy desserts ! Great service full of smiles and attention to detail from Joe and Oriane as well as little touches for our 5 year old with a colouring pack and surprise dessert ! Will be returning !! Very good pub in central Clifton for an excellent Sunday lunch , beef sirloin rare , excellent , half a roast chicken ( very tender and good size) plus slow cooked belly pork all good . Available as a sharing plate for 2 just £ 41 , great value . Wasn’t busy but easy to book a table on line as well . Well worth a visit to reset after a Saturday out . Lime and soda pint £2 Got busier after 1pm .

It was Our Eddie’s birthday and he decided he wanted to go for lunch (as well as dinner). We walked up from (the bottom of) Granby Hill where our digs are (don’t ask) and so I wasn’t keen on arguing with Eddie’s choice. He’d booked ahead, but what looks quite a cosy corner bar was sparsely occupied with customers. It was a Tuesday, so hardly a busy day, but the bar staff, just to our side didn’t come to take our order. I don’t mind ordering our food via a QR code, I just didn’t think it was necessary today, but as it wasn’t possible to order wine by the glass, Our Eddie still had to get up to get their attention for a two Proseccos. Still, it was pleasant enough, looking out the window and earwigging on conversations on the other tables, such was the lack of conversation at ours, even on Our Eddie’s birthday. Mind you, one glass of Prosecco in the day and I was giggling the rest of the day. My steak was juicy and his (?) looked lovely, allegedly. We nearly came back, not sure why or what distracted us, but Our Eddie liked it. I think it’s bigger, more tables hidden round the back or somewhere and a garden.

Lovely place with young helpful staffs

The Mall is my favourite pub in Clifton. It's in a beautiful spot overlooking Clifton Down and a stones throw away from the suspension bridge. The terrace is a dreamy sun trap with plenty of outside tables, the atmosphere is great as it's primarily a local crowd, the food is really excellent and the beer selection is solid. Finally, a shout-out to Harry and the rest of the staff who make you feel very welcome.

We went in on a Saturday lunch time and were surprised to be able to get a table for 6 without a booking, in retrospect, perhaps this should have been a red flag. I used to live in Clifton and came here regularly so we thought we'd got lucky. I was disappointed that they had south African and Swedish cider but nothing local, considering we're in the west country, but that's obviously a minor thing. The major issue was the food. The pub was very quiet and there was no warning of a long wait when we ordered, so after a 45 minute wait, I went to ask for an update. Shortly after, two meals arrived at our table but there was still a wait for the next two, and there were about ten minutes before the salads arrived. The Caesar salad was quite dry but had plenty of chicken, the nachos were cold and the steak was overcooked. We sent the nachos back but not only was the replacement was also cold, it was also lacking some of the toppings, so they went largely uneaten. When someone came to clear the table, I mentioned how disappointed we were and she said she'd seen we had had a long wait (she hadn't come over previously so it seems she noticed, but didn't do anything to remedy the situation). After a while, she came back to offer us coffee or a dessert, but by that point we'd been there so long that our parking was about to run out, so we were unable to take the offer up. When I asked for a refund, we did at least get the money back for the nachos. In general, the staff were friendly but not particularly helpful, and the food was pretty poor.

Granted I was late in the day for a roast, but my veg was sad looking and potatoes clearly deep fried about 3 times, yorkie as hard as a buscuit and everything luke-warm. Beef was actually decent, everything else let it down for an £18 plate.

Updated review 4/5: A representative from The Mall reached out to remedy this issue and I was very impressed with their customer service. They assured me the situation was addressed with staff so it can be avoided for future guests and generously offered a gift voucher for us to have a new experience at one of their affiliate pubs in our area. Thanks again. Initial review 1/5: We came for the Sunday roast. Ordered beef roasts but were disappointed to receive steaks instead. The substitution was not made clear to us at the point of ordering and the entire table agreed we would’ve ordered something else had we known. What’s more, the steaks were poor and overcooked. We realized after leaving that we were charged an elevated price of £25 per meal for their undisclosed substitution of the steak rather than the price of the roast beef we ordered - £18.50. This sneaky overcharge has lead to this public review where we otherwise would’ve taken a quiet loss on the substandard meal. Service was non-existent. We had to get up from the table to order everything at the bar, which also was not made clear to us when we were seated. The whole experience was very disappointing and the overcharge for meals we didn’t want and didn’t order has left us quite angry. Definitely would not recommend.
