First experience and I went with the very indulgent French toast. Soaked in cinnamon custard with butter, maple syrup and thick streaky bacon, this is all of your sweet and salty needs wrapped up in one. Will try their meaty breakfast next time!

staff are very polite but a service charge was put on automatically, without asking us despite the food taking forever and the drinks being extortionately priced. £3 for a tiny glass of orange juice, £4 for lemon juice and water (‘lemonade’). Waited over 45 minutes and haven’t been spoken to, or received any of our food.

Went for lunch today, the food and smoothies was amazing 10/10- albeit it took a while to get the food to the table but that’s fine The main issue we had was the atmosphere and service, the short-haired lass who served us was incredibly blunt, and uninterested, and when she brought the food over she just clattered the plates in front of us and darted off, we weren’t given any cutlery either. We also spent the whole time we were there listening to her curse out her colleague directly behind us, it was ultimately a pretty stressful and uncomfortable atmosphere to be in. We have been to garden numerous times and never had such an unpleasant experience with a server before. Atmosphere gets an extra star because the plants are nice

Firstly the service was top notch, couldn't have done better. The restaurant itself was an experience with the most house plants in one location I have ever seen. The issue was really in the food which was mediocre. The house pickle was uninteresting, the muscles were in a overpoweringly salty creamy sauce. The Belly of Pork was amazing, but the celeriac puree and mushrooms were cold and not great. I really enjoyed the Buratta and orange. The tenderstem was nice and the aubergine delicious but greasy. The cakes were ok not overly moist and flavourful. All and all it was an ok experience. Would I rush back no. Would I refuse to eat here again no.

Lovely ambiance and atmosphere. Felt a bit rushed. Waitress wanted food order straight away as well as drinks, without taking drinks order and giving us time to settle in first. Told that the food would come out as and when it was ready and not all together! The food itself was good.

Lovely atmosphere with lots of plants and light. We ate only the plant based dishes for dinner: The miso bean salad nibble was amazing, highly recommend this. Cabbage dish was great, the sauce was rich with flavour. Aubergine, meh, lacked anything special. Brocoli similarly boring and lacking freshness. Jerusalem Artichokes were strangely fossilised (burnt to a crisp) atop an unexplainable nut butter. Claggy and impossible to eat. Mixed experience, but the atmosphere was lovely and the lunch menu looks really nice, may have to give it a second chance.

Very poor service.. .I went there twice, the first time was for a breakfast. Upon leaving I felt overwhelmingly sick and started to cough and choke. I was having some kind of reaction to something they'd added to the salad. I was unwell for a week and even went to hospital for treatment. Afterwards I returned to speak with chef to find out what might have caused it! He said perhaps some very finely chopped nuts on the salad! I went there again today with a friend for a birthday breakfast, careful to choose a different option on the menu. When we finally got the waitresses attention, we received the menu and ordered. 1 and a half hours later! we noticed new comers were being served while we sat there hungry! I found a waitress and asked if we'd been forgotten. She rudely responded, were very busy 'love' when we saw other new comers had received there food, we went to the main counter to complaint. This young woman treated us with concern and care and got our meals out to us, apologised and suggested we receive the meal complimentary due to the inconvenience on.my birthday, She then returned to us somewhat embarrassed and said management had disapproved her suggestion, but we could have a free drink, we accepted, but given that my friends food arrived without some of the ingredients and when pointed out, they still failed to deliver. A free cuppa didn't suffice for the poor attention. I wont't be recommending this place. Generally staff are distant inattentive and the overall experience was poor. The attmospher was noisy and the air stale with the stench of sweaty bodies. We opened a window but it was quickly closed. Pretty decor does not compensate for poor service.

Such a cute place to go! The entire cafe is covered top to bottom in greenery and plants, you feel completely immersed, as if you're part of a rainforest or tropical garden centre. It was really busy when we arrived but didn't take too long for us to get a table and despite the busyness we were served very promptly and quickly, with the food also not taking too long to arrive. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. Can't wait to come back here again and try something different.

Menu looked great, and I loved the abundant greenery. However I've never felt so unacknowledged in the 15 minutes I spent there. There was plenty of discussion between the three young women behind the counter, but nobody greeted or acknowledged our presence. Eventually after five minutes we were given some menus and told which tables we could have. And then - nothing. Three tables of customers stared into the abyss. With no indication that we would ever get any service, we left. Looking at other reviews, it seems we're not the first to have this experience. What a shame. To spare confusion, there isn't an option for £0 in 'how much did you spend?'

Our previous visit a couple of years ago was great, but the visit last night in Jan 2025 was really exceptional! Glad we decided to visit rather than stay in and will definitely be back soon! Of the many Star dishes, the Fried Aubergine, Battata Harra, were the stand outs Honourable mention for the Hispi Cabbage and the Mussels. Although the artichoke salad was great, the other Jerusalem artichoke dish fell short of the rest of the food and the guava chilli sour didn’t deliver despite sounding so good and being a popular choice of the group. Will definitely be back sooner rather than later, shoutout to the team for taking it up a few notches with the dishes.

Decided to give Garden of Easton another try following a bad experience a couple of years back. I ordered a drink and my friend ordered some food and a drink. I was asked if I was going to order food and politely told her I was not. Another table who had ordered after us had received their drinks so I got the attention of a waitress and explained I was worried we had been forgotten. She looked irked that I would ask and told me she had done the order and it would come. I thankfully had some water in my bag so drank from that, I feel like they could have offered some water to keep us happy (we had been waiting for 20 or 30 mins or so for the drinks). Received the hot drinks and my friend her hot drink and food. Shame the hot drinks could not have been given to us before the food. A chai latte is a strong flavor to have with brunch food. Strange also that we were asked to pay up front with service charge included. In hindsight I would have asked for the tip to be removed and I would have left a tip (if I felt like the service was worthy of a tip).

Honestly, service was poor- I don’t blame the people because they were clearly kind individuals but they were absolutely understaffed. To the point it was hard to order a drink for a good while, felt like waiters were just ignoring the upstairs for a good while, and I felt annoying asking for a drink, which was sort of silly- had to ask for the bill twice, had to ask for a drink twice, just felt disorganised and I shouldn’t have to feel like a nuisance for essentially being a customer, especially when you consider how expensive it all is Also left with a nasty fever afterwards from something we ate. Beautiful sure but the service was leaving things to be desired tbh. Tried notifying the restaurant but the line was busy

I recently visited The Garden of Easton, and while the place itself is absolutely stunning, with plants and drapes hanging everywhere, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. First off, I was shocked by the prices. The bill was seriously overpriced for what we got. To make matters worse, we were charged in advance, which felt a bit off — it just added to the sense that we weren’t being treated as customers but more like an obligation to get money upfront. Then, the whole tipping thing… I don’t mind tipping if the service is good, but it’s always a bit of a red flag when they automatically add a tip before you’ve even been served. It left a bit of a sour taste, especially when it took ages to get our food. When the food finally arrived, I was disappointed to find that the aubergine crisps were super oily and totally tasteless. Between the high prices, slow service, and underwhelming food, I’m not sure I’d rush back.

Friends and I shared mezze, smoothies and waffles. The mezze was tasty, so was the hummus and flatbread. The waffles were very good too but the strawberry smoothie was the most underwhelming smoothie we have ever had. Bland, pale in colour and lacking strawberry flavour-it looked more like a milkshake. We were unanimously unhappy about being charged a service charge without being informed at all it was on the bill which you have to pay even before you get served!!! We only realised because the amounts we paid didn't add up. This new wave of adding service charge and not even warning the customer, not even making it optional, is purely immoral. Service charge and tipping is acceptable as a standard when staff don't have a salary but in the UK, they do. If you don't pay your staff well, shame on you. It's not my job to pay to have my paid food brought to the table from your kitchen-this is literally the No1 thing on a job description of a waiter unless you want me to go tell the chef what I'd like to eat and then go collect it myself from the kitchen, no problem. Some of us check menus in advance and save up to visit a certain cafe to meet a friend, socialise and contribute to society and businesses with our custom. Demanding service charge as a given without consent, means you don't respect hard earned money. Not everyone can afford 10% tips so we might as well stop eating out completely. Demanding service charge before providing service is preposterous. None of us was given a receipt either. Is this honest and professional? Hm!!

The food was really good and we were warned that dishes would come out as they were ready. The problem was that they came out thick and fast in any order. Our cocktails came half way through the meal after we had started on the wine. The starters came half way through the meal and the food came so fast that we were gobbling it as fast as possible to make room for the next plates on the table. This was a shame as the food was wonderful, but we did not have time to appreciate it properly. It would have been better if we had been advised to order say starters and cocktails, finish these, then order the main courses and the wine.

We went in the evening, we got the harassia potatoes which were nice, the pork which was OK, and the shared mezze plate which was OK. Not bad, just quite expensive for what it is and nothing that made us go "wow". In general the evening menu seems overpriced. For example, tomato and cheese is £8.9 whilst the pork (2 cutlets) is £12. Sorry, cozzy lives. I think you are paying more for the setting as it is very beautiful inside. I think I would come again in the mornings, the breakfasts look like more reasonable value for money and the cakes look nice. Tldr: nice place but go here for breakfast rather than dinner unless you are made of money.

Portion was big without being overwhelming and I left very satisfied. However, during a conversation last night, a couple of friends brought up their experience of the Garden of Easton unprompted, noting how poor it was – especially the appalling service (food not good either). Finding it such a funny coincidence, I tried finding my original review to show them, but couldn’t find it. Now I’m wondering if a business can have negative reviews removed? I visited the Garden of Easton about 18 months ago for breakfast with two others. The ambiance was pleasant, with plenty of real plants and a mellow vibe. Unfortunately, the mellow vibe didn’t last long, as we waited excessively to be served or even be given menus. When finally served we ordered some drinks whilst looking over the breakfast menu. I was surprised to be asked to pay for the drinks immediately - on a pay as you order basis. It took a long time for the drinks to arrive, at which point we ordered our food. Another long wait followed, prompting us to order a second round of drinks, which took just as long to arrive. When our breakfasts eventually arrived, I was annoyed at the two poached eggs I’d ordered, which were as bouncy as squash balls (yellow dots). The waiters had the observation skills of moles – I had to physically walk to them to gain their attention. After another long wait, I received two replacement eggs – boiled, not poached – by which point most of my plate was already finished. I informed the completely oblivious waiter it was too late, but this didn’t seem to register. I told companions I wouldn’t be providing a tip, especially as the breakfast was already overpriced. At this point I checked the bill, noticing a 15% (I think) service charge had already been applied - in advance! I was astonished a customer service tip could be applied ahead of the service being received, particularly as it was dreadful. As discussed with my friends when reviewing the latest Garden of Easton reviews last night, I cannot believe this place has received so many 5-star reviews. I initially thought my visit might have been an off day for both the kitchen and service staff, but after hearing my friends' experience, I felt the need to repeat my review (not verbatim) -especially since my original one seems to have vanished. I’m happy to provide the part of my credit card statement that shows the date of my visit to the Garden of Easton – definitely not a Garden of Eden.

Ok local pub, we went with children as the have a great outdoor park. But if you have kids I'd avoid on friday and Saturday evenings as can get a bit rowdy. Incredibly cheap food though 😋

Simply awesome. From entering the bar to the service and (of course) the drinks, The Milk Thistle wowed us all the way. My non-drinking partner raved about her custom non-alcoholic drink the team whipped up, calling it the 'best drink she ever had'. And my whisky-forward beverage, with mango beads (caviar) of all things... amazing. Definitely check it out if you're in the center of Bristol!

Looks great for a social media post. but overrated and overpriced..basically its just OK. doubt the quaity of incredidents fresh does not always mean good quality the bread was espically poor , it looks great but really feels like the idea is to taike a few bits and then a photo, my patners sandwich was espically tastless, more so for a rost beef sandwich. and he ended up chucking most of it away as it was not ediable. I punted for a hot chicken sandwich which was just OK, and pretty standard fair. given the food scene in bristol your npennies are better spent somewhere else.
