I had French toast in this lovely cafe/restaurant, which was delicious. The staff are good but not the most attentive. The place is wonderful if you love been amongst lots of plants. I loved my time there. Nearby is a street with interesting ethnic food shops, too.

Honestly, service was poor- I don’t blame the people because they were clearly kind individuals but they were absolutely understaffed. To the point it was hard to order a drink for a good while, felt like waiters were just ignoring the upstairs for a good while, and I felt annoying asking for a drink, which was sort of silly- had to ask for the bill twice, had to ask for a drink twice, just felt disorganised and I shouldn’t have to feel like a nuisance for essentially being a customer, especially when you consider how expensive it all is Also left with a nasty fever afterwards from something we ate. Beautiful sure but the service was leaving things to be desired tbh. Tried notifying the restaurant but the line was busy

I recently visited The Garden of Easton, and while the place itself is absolutely stunning, with plants and drapes hanging everywhere, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. First off, I was shocked by the prices. The bill was seriously overpriced for what we got. To make matters worse, we were charged in advance, which felt a bit off — it just added to the sense that we weren’t being treated as customers but more like an obligation to get money upfront. Then, the whole tipping thing… I don’t mind tipping if the service is good, but it’s always a bit of a red flag when they automatically add a tip before you’ve even been served. It left a bit of a sour taste, especially when it took ages to get our food. When the food finally arrived, I was disappointed to find that the aubergine crisps were super oily and totally tasteless. Between the high prices, slow service, and underwhelming food, I’m not sure I’d rush back.

We visited the Garden of Easton with my partner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh and well-prepared dishes that catered perfectly to our tastes. The atmosphere was a highlight—lush with plants and filled with cozy charm, it felt like a serene escape. The combination of natural decor and warm ambiance made our time there memorable. We both look back fondly on this visit and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and welcoming dining spot in Bristol.

Lovely place and great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Food promised more than it gave...seasoning could be better and some were over flavoured. Fish was not pin boned properly and arrived dry. It's a lovely place and just a few tweaks would make it excellent though prices were high for what you got too. Maybe we got an off night...

Ate breakfast here with my daughter. It was busy so we had to wait a while to get our order taken but the food arrived quickly. The cooked breakfast was really nice especially the large mushroom. Gluten free options available My daughter had a vegetarian breakfast which she also enjoyed. She said the sausage wasn't her favourite type, a Glamorgan style, but she enjoyed the rest. Cakes looked great but we didn't try any , also gluten free options available. Would definitely visit again.

Friends and I shared mezze, smoothies and waffles. The mezze was tasty, so was the hummus and flatbread. The waffles were very good too but the strawberry smoothie was the most underwhelming smoothie we have ever had. Bland, pale in colour and lacking strawberry flavour-it looked more like a milkshake. We were unanimously unhappy about being charged a service charge without being informed at all it was on the bill which you have to pay even before you get served!!! We only realised because the amounts we paid didn't add up. This new wave of adding service charge and not even warning the customer, not even making it optional, is purely immoral. Service charge and tipping is acceptable as a standard when staff don't have a salary but in the UK, they do. If you don't pay your staff well, shame on you. It's not my job to pay to have my paid food brought to the table from your kitchen-this is literally the No1 thing on a job description of a waiter unless you want me to go tell the chef what I'd like to eat and then go collect it myself from the kitchen, no problem. Some of us check menus in advance and save up to visit a certain cafe to meet a friend, socialise and contribute to society and businesses with our custom. Demanding service charge as a given without consent, means you don't respect hard earned money. Not everyone can afford 10% tips so we might as well stop eating out completely. Demanding service charge before providing service is preposterous. None of us was given a receipt either. Is this honest and professional? Hm!!

The food was really good and we were warned that dishes would come out as they were ready. The problem was that they came out thick and fast in any order. Our cocktails came half way through the meal after we had started on the wine. The starters came half way through the meal and the food came so fast that we were gobbling it as fast as possible to make room for the next plates on the table. This was a shame as the food was wonderful, but we did not have time to appreciate it properly. It would have been better if we had been advised to order say starters and cocktails, finish these, then order the main courses and the wine.

We went in the evening, we got the harassia potatoes which were nice, the pork which was OK, and the shared mezze plate which was OK. Not bad, just quite expensive for what it is and nothing that made us go "wow". In general the evening menu seems overpriced. For example, tomato and cheese is £8.9 whilst the pork (2 cutlets) is £12. Sorry, cozzy lives. I think you are paying more for the setting as it is very beautiful inside. I think I would come again in the mornings, the breakfasts look like more reasonable value for money and the cakes look nice. Tldr: nice place but go here for breakfast rather than dinner unless you are made of money.

Really wanted to give this place a 5 star staff are amazing atmosphere is amazing and menueitems amazing. But was really upset to find that they charge extra to swap menu items around even if your getting something smaller such as replacing halloumi with a salad. But unfair when most places will replace something like for like. Can't charge people extra when taking thing away from the menu because of there allergies and trying to replace it with something smaller or less costly..

Really enjoyed breakfast at the garden of Easton. I had avoided it, assuming it was veggie or vegan only, but they sell bacon (which is a non-negotiable for breakfast..!) The setting is so nice. It's like being fed in a rain forest. The plants, colours and woodwork are all so beautiful. The food and service were great. I really enjoyed my breakfast. Portion was big without being overwhelming and I left very satisfied. I didn't pay, so no idea about costs, but I'd imagine the value is good as there was a queue outside within about half an hour of them opening. Would definitely recommend. No bookings here. Not sure why, but if you want to eat here on the weekend, go a bit earlier and be prepared to wait for a table.

Short version: Ambiance nice. Service slack. Food variable – with an inability to poach eggs. Price hefty. Recommendation - Don’t go. Better food and service are available at half the price within a short distance elsewhere. Long version: I thought I had posted this review previously. However, during a conversation last night, a couple of friends brought up their experience of the Garden of Easton unprompted, noting how poor it was – especially the appalling service (food not good either). Finding it such a funny coincidence, I tried finding my original review to show them, but couldn’t find it. Now I’m wondering if a business can have negative reviews removed? I visited the Garden of Easton about 18 months ago for breakfast with two others. The ambiance was pleasant, with plenty of real plants and a mellow vibe. Unfortunately, the mellow vibe didn’t last long, as we waited excessively to be served or even be given menus. When finally served we ordered some drinks whilst looking over the breakfast menu. I was surprised to be asked to pay for the drinks immediately - on a pay as you order basis. It took a long time for the drinks to arrive, at which point we ordered our food. Another long wait followed, prompting us to order a second round of drinks, which took just as long to arrive. When our breakfasts eventually arrived, I was annoyed at the two poached eggs I’d ordered, which were as bouncy as squash balls (yellow dots). The waiters had the observation skills of moles – I had to physically walk to them to gain their attention. After another long wait, I received two replacement eggs – boiled, not poached – by which point most of my plate was already finished. I informed the completely oblivious waiter it was too late, but this didn’t seem to register. I told companions I wouldn’t be providing a tip, especially as the breakfast was already overpriced. At this point I checked the bill, noticing a 15% (I think) service charge had already been applied - in advance! I was astonished a customer service tip could be applied ahead of the service being received, particularly as it was dreadful. As discussed with my friends when reviewing the latest Garden of Easton reviews last night, I cannot believe this place has received so many 5-star reviews. I initially thought my visit might have been an off day for both the kitchen and service staff, but after hearing my friends' experience, I felt the need to repeat my review (not verbatim) -especially since my original one seems to have vanished. I’m happy to provide the part of my credit card statement that shows the date of my visit to the Garden of Easton – definitely not a Garden of Eden.

Delicious food, polite and efficient staff, strong wifi connection. Good place to get work done, but also have a yummy meal (seriously, I can't emphasize enough how good the food was. And if you're thinking of trying the Shoom Latte, do it!). This is a truly magical, jungle of a restaurant tucked away in Easton, definitely a destination restaurant, make sure you book for the evening. You can't book for breakfast or lunch. Came in for an early lunch! Had like 2 minutes to order as waiter kept coming over so wasn’t really happy with my choice, but we make our bed. Also found it weird we were asked to pay before we’d even receive the food, seems a bit pushy. Bacon was dry, sausages burnt, the mushroom had the texture of leather. My friends waffles were saturated in yogurt couldn’t taste anything else (she had like 2 bites). I’ve lived in Bristol my whole life and considering it’s called “the garden of Easton” was definitely expecting more than a gentrified building and an over price brekky. Wouldn’t recommend.

One of those places you just wished you lived closer to! Small plates and on looking at the price you might think way too expensive for small plates, average £9/10, but the taste makes up for the price! They advise 2 or three each which would work out pretty expensive for three of the most costly ones. I'm veggie so not too bad. Obviously vegan friendly and good for vegetarians too, which makes a change as it's hard to find vegetarian food now vegan has taken over. The restaurant is so green, so many plants, window boxes, hanging from the rafters, it was amazing. We ate on a really hot day and it made us feel like we were somewhere in Europe. Staff could not have been nicer or more friendly. Lovely bottle of wine, £21, to compliment everything. I'm sad I'm not local but my bank is pleased!

Cocktails were perfectly tasty but the service was slow. It was extremely dark as well so was hard to actually see your drinks/the menu! Wouldn’t recommend going as a bigger group as we were there for an hour and a half and only managed to get one drink served in that time! Was a ‘cool’, ‘alternative’ place to try out though!

Saying that they’re open. Drove 6 miles only to find the place is closed. On the other hand, I hear good things and look forward to visiting. Will call in advance though.
