Best staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. They were friendly, polite and so helpful. A credit to the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very attentive. However, the food left a lot to be desired .As vegetarians we received a dreadful meal with no choices. It was beetroot ravioli on the menu .There were about 6 ravioli and that was all,no sauce whatsoever.I asked could we have something with it and they did come up with something, parmesan! I've never had such a mean looking plate with only ravioli before. There could at least have have been some salad with it Very mean.Vegetarians beware!!

Very nice hotel with good rooms. The location is a bit challenging to find the entrance for. The restaurant serves excellent food. It feels somewhere between a uprated very nice Premier Inn and a more classic hotel.

When we arrived we were a little concerned about the bar outside our room but needn't have been. It was a quaint hotel in an old country house and our room on the ground floor was warm and comfortable, if an odd shape. There was a double and single bed in the room for the 2 of us. The shower worked well though the fan didn't remove any of the steam. There was a kettle along with tea making facilities. My only criticism was that the duvet was a bit small and so I could choose to have cold shoulders or feet. I saw the additional blanket in the morning when it was too late. Overall it was a good place and I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms big and basic but clean and comfortable. Staff in restaurant lack maturity to give good service. Location great for bristol airport.

Shabby, tired historic building, badly converted and staffed by untrained students (seemingly). I cannot believe the positive ratings by others.

A perfectly comfortable and charming little hotel near the centre of Bristol. The room was basic and fairly small, but had all the amenities you need, and would expect from a hotel like this. I wasn’t person a fan of the pillows - too small and soft for me, so had to augment with a cushion which gave me a bit of a sore neck in the morning. However, aside from that the bed was comfortable and I slept well. We stayed on the first floor. We did get quite a bit of noise from upstairs, mostly from floorboards and what I think was a waste-water downpipe somewhere. It woke me up a couple of times early in the morning, but it wasn’t too bad. Breakfast was very pleasant; plenty to choose from on both cooked and continental menus. Pre-order the night before, turn up to the restaurant and they bring it all out to you in about 10-15 mins from our experience. Food was good quality and well prepared. We stayed for one night and I think it’s perfect for a short stay (one to three nights). It does everything you’d need and expect from a hotel like this. Thanks for a nice stay!

Lovely hotel. Breakfast very good. Had dinner there 1 night. Good choice. Staff very attentive. Buses stop outside so easy to get to Cribbs corner for the Mall shopping. Would definitely stay there again.

Rooms are nice but nothing amazing, beds are comfy and clean. Shower door is broken and chipped floor tiles. The food is bad value for money and to be quite frank awful. £8.50 for 4 piece of “Salt & Pepper Squid” tasted bland and overcooked. The Mayonnaise was curdled due to it having Lime Juice and Lime Puree poured over it. Overall just disappointing. The Chicken Supreme was cooked beautifully, the dauphinois potatoes were a little dry. Overall a nice dish but could be presented better. The Raspberry Eton N Mess was amazing, nice and creamy with a little crunch of the meringue with a raspberries inside the centre accompanied by a sweet sauce. I think the only thing that saved this place was the Waiter, he was polite and kind and looked after everyone in the dining room.

Very pleasant hotel near the Blaize estate. Spacious room with both bath and shower. Breakfast cooked to order rather than buffet help yourself. A good experience.

Asked for a quiet room and that's what we got. Never heard a pipsqueak in three days. Lovely helpful staff, excellent breakfast, local bacon and sausages which made all the difference. We come to Bristol several times a year and Will definitely be back.

After a day of travailing up from London to help my brother move house. We’d been in the garden putting a shed up for 3 hours and were freezing cold. So on our way back from his house to our motel we decided to stop in your pub to have something hot to eat. We ordered gammon steak with mash and peas, grilled chicken with salad, chicken burger with garlic bread, a bottle of Diet Coke, a bottle of coke and a tea. When our food arrived everything seemed okay. My butterflied chicken breast was a bit on the dry side at the thinner end but that is to be expected. What wasn’t expected was getting few bits into the chicken and finding that the rest of the breast was completely raw. Not just a little. Completely raw. I took it back and the lady behind the bar was very apologetic and offered a refund. I said no so she gave me a cider as compensation. What I was not aware of was that I would not get a replacement meal. I went back to my table and sat while my family ate their food. My mom offering me some of hers to tide me over. When my mom and son were finished their meal we sat talking. I was still waiting for my replacement meal. We’d asked the manager if their staffy could have the left overs and they agreed. At this point I have to say is when we found out that the middle of the gammon steak was also raw. The lady behind the bar came to clear away our plates. She apologised again and left the table. It was late at this point and I was tired so we left. I will say that was the worst experience I’ve ever had.
