The Magic Garden in Nottingham

Absolutely brilliant venue and staff! I booked the Neon room on the first floor for a launch party for my debut book and it was the perfect setting, amazing decorations, lighting, atmosphere. Bar round the back that was easy to access for guests to get their drinks. Staff were so lovely! Food was great - everyone had an amazing time. We were about 20 people in total and it was comfortable, not a squeeze at all. Booking was easy, relaying my detailed requirements and needs for the night, it was a great experience too. We were able to move tables around to suit the launch and bring a few decorations of our own/add some balloons. Had a live musician and she had plenty of space and somewhere to plug her PA system in. Would 100% recommend!

My Mai Tai didn't seem to have any booze in it. The foam on top was all big ugly bubbles and about 15mm deep. After I'd finished it the glass was full to the brim with ice so it can't have had more than 60-70 ml of mixer. I'd expect to taste the booze. It was without question one of the worst cocktails I've ever had. And £11.50 to boot. The garden is nice, if you like plastic. Plastic grass, plastic lemons, plastic plants. Then you look at the beautiful grass garden next door and wonder how they got it so wrong. Chavtastic.

The selection complements the garden’s laid-back vibe perfectly, although it's worth noting that the prices are a bit on the higher side. However, given the current economic climate, this seems to be the norm. The staff at The Magic Garden were outstanding, particularly during a Cigar evening hosted by Gauntleys. They were attentive and ensured that all guests were well taken care of, adding to the overall positive experience. Their professionalism and warm service made the evening all the more enjoyable. Overall, The Magic Garden is a fantastic spot for those looking to enjoy a unique and memorable experience in Nottingham. The combination of beautiful surroundings, great drinks, and excellent service makes it a place worth visiting, even if it does come with a slightly higher price tag.

Emma from The Magic Garden helped us pre-book our meals, ensuring everything was perfectly timed and delicious, each dish was flavourful and beautifully presented. The ambiance was enchanting, and the staff handled our large group with ease, providing attentive and friendly service. If you're looking for great food in a magical setting, The Magic Garden is a top choice. Highly recommended!

The garden is beautiful, a great option for sunny days, it is very spacious and comfortable, you can order from your table without having to go to the bar, the staff is very attentive and friendly to the service. Clean bathrooms. They have 2-4-1 on cocktails.

This was our first visit to Magic Garden for a bottomless brunch which was a really enjoyable experience. Prosecco was ready on arrival which was a good start. Our waitress Esme ensured we had everything we needed at all times, keeping cocktails flowing nicely. The magician who came to our table performed some amazing tricks. The tapas portions were filling and gluten free was suitably catered for which was a refreshing change. I would definitely go back.

I have been here a few times at various different times of the day - evenings and later afternoon. The place is absolutely lovely, the staff are amazing and the food really well executed. I only wanted a light lunch so ordered chicken wrap; it was Hugh and very tasty. Everything perfectly seasoned. There isn't anything not to like and I haven't even mentioned the building. Just go check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Ordered drinks via the table QR code and 20 minutes later they still hasn't arrived. When I went to the bar to check, they were sat on the bar. I had to take the tray (of three drinks) back to the table as bar staff showed no interest in bringing them to our table.

I’ve been here a couple of times, this was my first time for a bottomless brunch and I would highly recommend! Absolutely brilliant service ( Thank you Fi, you were an absolute diamond) Prosecco was ready and waiting on the table, welcome drinks came as at on as the party were all present. The food was lovely and served quickly and hot and we weren’t ushered out after our time was up which was a lovely change, we even got Prosecco served before we left the table, will definitely return.

Went for bottomless brunch and was served by Fi (she was amazing and so lovely, definitely kept the drinks flowing). But we were sat in a stairwell away from the main music and atmosphere which tainted it a little. Went into the main garden after which was beautiful. Only reason a star knocked off for service is another waitress was rude throughout the whole experience, rolling her eyes and grimacing when she helped serve our table.

Bottomless brunch, food great, service awful. Slow, surly miserable waitress. Waited ages for drinks. Welcome drink (smoking teapot) only arrived after us asking 3 times for it ( around an hour after we got our table) Warm prosecco..eww. Outside area was nice. Would go just for a few drinks but the brunch wasn't worth the money and that waitress really ruined what should've been a lovely afternoon.

Very disappointed. Ok, maybe I'm old but qr code only ordering isn't ideal when the website doesn't render the checkout button. On android. It appeared on iPhone. After that it was a fight to pay requiring an account set up target then just using stored cards. Food choice limited and pricey for what it was. It might be worth it but I bailed without ordering. Going out for food is supposed to be fun, not a fight to order.

Nipped in for some lunch and a couple of drinks, food was amazing, I had the jerk chicken burger and it was proper nice and the Mrs had the not duck bao buns which were also as good,

The food was nice but the service was appalling. Food arrived in dribs and drabs but we weren't given any cutlery beforehand which meant we had to wait to eat it resulting in it going cold. We placed our order on the QR code at the table and my husband had to get up and leave the table twice to chase our drinks. Drinks arrived after we had finished our food, and the order was wrong, we ordered and paid for pints and what came was halves. The waitress went to rectify the order with the bar but took ALL the drinks with her, despite some of them being correct. Ended up coming back with more halves as they had ran out of pint glases.... Shocking organisation and service.

We had the bottomless brunch. There was a mix up in the time of our booking so we had to wait an hour. A complimentary drink would have been good as it wasn’t our mix up. The fruity cocktails were lovely. The mojito was nothing like a real mojito. The bar staff didn’t acknowledge us as we stood waiting for ages. A simple I won’t be long would have been good. Our brunch was upstairs and our host was Kathryn with Holly being our waitress. They were superb. Customer service second to none. The Prosecco was free flowing as were the cocktails but we only had one as we’d waited an hour beforehand. The food was ok, nothing special really. But all in all good value. The decor and garden superb. I had emailed about it being my daughter’s birthday and should I bring a cake but never got a response. This sounds negative but we had a lovely time and I’d definitely go back. The magicians were awesome. Thanks Chris.

Ordered drinks from the table and waited 20minutes. Went to the bar and was told they have “orders stacking up” Waited longer and returned to buy my drinks. Finished our drinks and still waited for the order. Put more staff on or don’t give the option to order from the table. Won’t see me again.

The bottomless brunch scran is yummy and generous portions, recommend the vegan chicken or cajun fries (coated in seasoning and honey). However the drinks were all very weak cocktails, basically juice, or fizzy prosecco. Instead of getting drunk, we just got full from all the juice and bubbles! If they offered short cocktails or wine for the table that would be so much better.

Really lovely decor, but the food was bad and overpriced. The chicken wrap was dripping with mayonnaise and inedible. The mocktails were overly sweet and all tasted the same. Service was ok, a bit slow.

What a beautiful place, absolutely gorgeous interior, many different style rooms. Delicious Sunday lunch for Mothers Day with a very welcome complimentary glass of prosecco. I also had an Expresso Martini which was delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming. The garden is incredible and I'm looking forward to warmer weather to enjoy. Throughly recommend 😊

I booked the bottomless brunch for my friends & I to celebrate my Birthday. I did this in advance & I asked for the best table in the house, sadly this was two small tables pushed together & located outside the door of the service area, quite disappointing. We sat late as I advised my friend had missed her train & would be late, I was happy to carry on regardless but the maître de suggested & arranged for us to sit 15 mins later at 2pm so she could join us & not miss the beginning for our brunch session, this was appreciated. We were welcomed with 2 x freshly opened bottles of Prosecco on ice at our table & orders were promptly taken for cocktails & food. The service was good as was the food & drinks. Our waitress seemed friendly but it was difficult to tell as she rarely smiled. We struggled for space on our tiny tables as there were 6 of us, not to mentions the drinks, food & 2x wine coolers.

So we have visited this place on previous occasions and never been told bookings only. Tonight this is what the bouncer stated and refused us entry. Did we not meet the minimum requirements for guests to enter Tonight or is this actually the case. Like I said we have been welcomed before. It was disappointing as Tonight was gonna be food menu try night and other cocktails we haven't. For everyone's sake previous book and don't be disappointed.

Came for the first time couple of weeks ago thought it was wonderful. Decided to take the rest of the family today for my sons birthday. Got there at 1pm closed, the website states open at 12pm. Called, a very terse person informed me they opened at 4pm, I explained the website stayed 12, they replied "oh well when the weather isn't going to be very nice we are allowed to open at 4pm". I explained it was 27 degrees to which they replied "it wasn't forecast,". Is this some sort of joke, I chose today at the beginning of the week because the forecast said hot! I found it an insult to my intelligence be honest. So thank you for making my elderly parents in their 80's for nothing in the heat because like you say you open when you want who cares. Sad really 5 people ranging from 17 to 82 all disappointed and spent elsewhere. .

We booked the Retro Lounge for our wedding reception, and the experience left a lot to be desired. Whilst guests did enjoy the atmosphere and the selection of drinks available, the staff lack the communication and experience to host an event worthy of a couple's special day. If you chose to host your reception here, be advised that the venue's welcome drink policy involves leaving buckets of subpar Prosecco lying around with flutes for guests to help themselves. None of this was communicated in advance or to guests on the night, leading to confusion as to whether guests COULD help themselves and an extremely cold welcome for arriving guests. Staff were informed on the night by myself and other guests, but ultimately seemed confused as to what they should have been doing. The food was adequate, but it is my opinion that low ticket items were served at the expense of high ticket items, leading to a very uneven spread which lacked variety. The venue claims otherwise. In addition, despite being agreed upon ahead of time, food was not labelled to indicate allergy, dietary or religious requirements, which is simply unacceptable. This was rectified on the night after complaining to staff, but not something I should have been doing on my wedding day. Whilst I have been in correspondence with the venue to address these issues, I am not 100% satisfied with their response. The function was not managed to the standard I expected and issues of miscommunication plagued the entire evening. This kept it from being something truly special, and I regret not doing more research in advance. I urge others to book with caution.

Tried to call to find information to book in on 3 occasions with no response. When we arrived there were load of free tables but told everything was booked and no space for us. Really disappointed by the lack of accommodation and customer service.
