Visited here with family to celebrate my Mother-in-laws 88th birthday, the staff were very welcoming and the food was really good, everyone said they enjoyed their meal, my Sirloin Steak was cooked beautifully. All in all it was a great experience, would recommend.

It was the first time eating at this place and we definitely won't be back Family of 5, we all left after eating a couple of mouthfuls. The food was watery and tasteless. Roast potatoes may aswell have just been boiled. The only nice part was the gravy and the one yorkshire pudding you are given.

Can't see what previous reviewers are on about. We are regular customers. Went with my wife and grandaughter today, and we thought £7:99 each is great value for money. The food is hot and tasty with a great choice of vegetables. The cauliflower cheese is delicious, and the meat was excellent, well cooked, and carved nicely. We will be going back again.

Came here with my family on a Thursday late afternoon. It was very quiet, so the service wasn't too slow. However, upon ordering, I opted for the lasagne like I had the last time I visited. No lasagne. So I want for a jacket potato instead. No potatoes. Then the barman apologized as there was no chef in... SO, who's cooking then???? So, I'm feeling pressured to order something I just went for the scampi. And 2 carveries for my family. It's definitely not a happy visit like the previous one. The scampi is not worth the money. Mushy peas taste cheap. 9 pieces of scampi. Some tartar sauce plonked into a paper ramakin. The carveries were no way fresh. The roast potatoes looked dry, and the Yorkshire puddings were not homemade but out of a packet. This certainly reflected on having no chef. I won't be returning anytime soon. It's such a shame as I really enjoyed my visit before.

Stopped in on the way back from a day out thinking we wouldn't get a table as it was Saturday night at 7:15pm (it used to be so busy here you always had to book) To our surprise there was just 2 other tables full in the whole place which wasn't a great sign. Ordered a fosters but it had bits floating in it and tasted odd so took it back and swapped for a CARLING. Barmaid said it was a bit lively. No, but in the lager is usually from dirty pipes. £5.40 for a Carling top was a shock but at least the was no floating bits. £2.20 for my wife's small cordial and soda water too lol! The carvery here used to be awesome but it is now the worst and most depressing thing ever! I only was able to have meat, Yorkshire, new potatoes and sweetcorn because the rest looked like a dog had thrown it up. I've attached pictures of the brown cabbage, wet cauliflower cheese and the roast potatoes that had weird white edges. The carrots had brown bits mixed in them and the water was grey. Beef was dry but Turkey was cooked well. This was at 7:30pm on a Saturday night so it should be busy the carvery full. They now do an Indian menu too so they should just turn it in to a curry house because the carvery is the worst I've ever seen. I guess that's why they are virtually empty on a Saturday evening. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE, IT'S TERRIBLE!

Examine your food very carefully I found a very sharp plastic object in mine. No apology offered just aggression and the implication that I had put it in my food myself and believe it or not I have been told I’m not welcome in the venue again for daring to complain very politely and discreetly.

Opening times 12-8 Arrived 5.30. Food was luke warm. Vegetables were cold on the plate after 5 minutes. Watched the fire exit being locked at 6.20. The carvery was turned off and cleared away by 6.30. Customers came in and were turned away. Toilets were disgusting, no schedule to showed if they had been cleaned throughout the day(which obviously they hadn't). General standards have definitely slipped in here. Even mum, who has dementia, commented o how bad it was.

I came for lunch with my partner and her family. Food was half decent. On the other hand the service was terrible, the lady to served us had her hair in a bun on the top of her head, she slammed the plates on the table. Had a very moody look on her face it seemed like she didn’t want to work here. There was no check back on the food so couldn’t give feedback while eating, never asked when cleaned the plates from the table. She was rude as anything!! I will not return here again. Absolutely appalling!!!

Popped in for a carvery aswe were passing and hungry. Opted for roast beef and was treated to a masterclass in how to slice beef so thinly it was almost transparent. It was a good jpb the windows were closed as a decent breeze would have had the meat straight off of the plate! I mentioned this to the person carving to be given the answer "its what I've been told to do..." Lukewarm soaking wet veg just added to the dismay. We really didn't enjoy the meal at all but hunger wins every time and we ate it. First and last time here for us I'm afraid.

Terrible service, having to queue for 10 minutes every time you wanted a drink or to order food. Portions are very small for the price- even the children’s meals. Ordered chicken Goujons for one child, only to find that one was actually a fish goujon! Good job she didn’t have any allergies. Did report to make them aware of the error and to check future orders but both people I spoke to did not seem that interested in how serious this could have been, very passive. Big prices, small meals and long terrible service.

I’m sorry to say but our visit was very disappointing and we will definitely not be returning. On arrival the restaurant was like sitting in a school dinner hall. The staff were completely inattentive. You have to order everything from the bar. There is no drinks menu and very limited wine option ( red wine option was 1 choice of Shiraz & 1 choice of Malbec. We had the carvery which was average at best. My Dad had the beef which was leathery, I struggled cutting it to take it home for my dog. The gammon was 20% fat. The turkey was the best of the three choices. The vegetables were all sitting in water, I presume to stop the drying out, but they were not fresh. The cauliflower cheese was very soggy and disintegrated on your plate. The roast potatoes were probably the best thing there. The gravy was ok, but the lid to get to the gravy was broken so you had to lift it off and position it nearby which caused a bit of a mess. My nephew had the bangers and mash and the sausages which were very dry. I even had to ask one of the staff to put toilet roll in the ladies toilet as all five toilets didn’t have any!. All in all it was very disappointing and we will definitely not be returning🙁

Not sure if there has been a change in management but this wasn't a pleasant experience like it has been previously. Firstly, we are seated, then get moved as it was wrong. Table for five was actually a table for four, with cutlery for 4! Found my own.. we had my elderly mother with us, who has very little appetite, I asked for a child's or small adult meal for her, but was told it wasn't allowed. 'He' wouldn't do it, whoever 'he' was, I'm assuming the manager. When we went up for food, they were rude, and ignorant, not one but atleast three of them!. Put me off going again. Manners and customer service cost nothing.

We booked a table her for 8 for lunch. On arrival there were only 2 other diners there. We went to our table and chose what we wanted to eat. One of our party has a medical alert card which asks to be able to order a small portion or a child's portion due to only being able to eat a few teaspoons of food. The lady at the bar was very nice but said that management will not allow a child's meal to be served to anyone over 10 years old. I showed her the card and she went off to show the manawho still refused. We spoke to the manager and explained but he said that he'd ran the place for 10 years and had the same rules and he wasn't going to change them for us. We said we would order a adults meal amd take the rest home to be told that he doesn't allow uneaten food to he taken away. After many minutes of trying to reason with him and telling him we would have to leave he said that's what we should do if we weren't happy with his rules. Again the lady at the bar was so kind and was very embarrassed by her managers attitude and said he's always like that. He wouldn't even allow a substitute of chios instead of rice and we were told we had to buy chips as extra. Terrible service and we shall never return and make sure others we know don't go either. Do yourself a favour and go to Toby carvery or the seven gorge pub instead. That's where we ended up and the food was amazing with no issue with anyone ordering a small portion.

All the food was well cooked and more importantly, hot and very tasty. There was a choice of five vegetables and there were roast and boiled new potatoes. I can't understand anyone criticizing the food as there are three choices of meat as well. We always have the carvery when we go here and we go at least once a month as it's great value for money. we have just returned from our first visit here and in all honesty it was a disappointment. we had to drive very slowly and carefully into the carpark as it is strewn with large potholes and in dire need of repair. it would be easy to damage your vehicle! the inside of the establishment was tatty and extremely dated. we were meeting up with family so we stayed and dined as we had all turned up around the same time but if it was just us and we turned up spontaneously from first impressions i would turn around and go elsewhere. we were greeted with a friendly face and shown to our reserved table then proceeded to the very long queue to place our order, although the serving system was organised the queue took a while to go down to finally get served. the man who served me was quite rude and abrupt. i drink guiness and i had the option of an overpriced CAN of guiness or.....well that was it. even the extra cold on draught was non existent and the tap not covered up so i had to settle for very flat overpriced draught cola. when he started filling the 1/2 pint glasses i pointed out we wanted pints and he was huffing and puffing with attitude due to the inconvenience. he told me the price for 3 carveries, 2 colas and a medium wine.... £36!! EXPENSIVE!! i eventually managed to pay as the card machine was playing up and the situation was made worse by the fact that he told me it does it all the time, especially on sundays.... get it sorted! not a good start to our visit. we got our meals from the carvery counter and i was very surprised at how minimal the portions were for the price. the plates were small so as you could not get too many vegetables on and the meat portions were not great. we were only allowed 2 slices of meat and they were cut quite thinly which was insulting as this meal was costing £8.50 per person. we sat and ate our meals and the taste was great and everything was warm as expected but we were in disbelief that the "mash" we were eating was the instant dehydrated variety. i was not the only one in our party to recognise this fact. this was a bit annoying as this meal was not the cheapest. i keep referring to the expense as i cannot understand the greed of this establishment hiking up the price of the meal by £2.50 pp as it is a sunday. its not as if the choice or portion sizes increase also. i feel its just taking advantage of people, im sure the YOUNG waitresses do not get double time as they would have in the past justifying us paying extra. most establishments are guilty of this and if i was reviewing somewhere else i would mention it but this review is for the madebrook. my mother went and placed a few dessert orders and a floater coffee for my wife and eventually upon her return she was bemused that she had been informed at the bar that as they were very busy they did not have time to fulfill the order of the floater coffee so she would have to settle for a normal one!! 30 seconds!! how rude but with everything else i was not surprised. whilst we were there there was a very foul stench coming from the toilet area which smelt like raw sewage so i waited until we got home. the toilets are located very near the kitchens which was a concern. i am not annihilating this place intentionally as the majority of the food was great as i pointed out earlier and we did enjoy our time together there as a family, i am just being honest in my review for my first (and last) visit here. it may be different throughout the week but as a result of todays experience i will never know. i estimated at least 100 diners in the madebrook whilst we were there and if they all paid the extra £2.50, by my calculations that is £250. perhaps the owner is using these funds to repair the dangerous carpark and help patrons avoid massive repair bills to their cars. at least we tried it and learnt a lesson, not 100% bad but far from100% great. the other staff members we interacted with during our visit were friendly and professional enough which couneracted the barmans unprofessional attitude and most of the food was great which reflects my higher rating of 2.

Me and my grandad come here regularly and have never had a bad meal. Meat is always tasty and tender something which you don't always get from a carvery. Veg is always crisp and plentiful and the roast potatoes are fantastic for a pub! Very good and always goes done well. Definitely recommend for a good cheap roast!

Myself and a friend have frequented The Madebrook every week for several years. Staff are friendly and obliging, food is consistently good and the seating arrangements are such that you are able to have uninterrupted conversation without the need to lower your voice in case you disturb other diners. Am looking forward to having a xmas meal there this week.

I visited here recently. There was a very good selection of food on the carvery and the meat was tasty but very minimal and that was extremely disappointing. Also all the food was not hot enough.

We hadn't been here for a carvery lunch for a while, so we decided to visit today Friday 23rd, well all the veggies were as nice as always, but we all observed how small and very very thin the slices of meat were, taking into account the lunchtime carvery prices have gone up as well , it no longer represents good value anymore, and there are many more eateries in Telford that do it better than this, so sadly after many visits here for lunch,we shall not be returning again.

We arrived just after 5pm on Saturday evening and chose a table for 4 people. After ordering drinks at the bar and paying for 4 meals, we then proceeded to the carvery. There was a choice of ham, turkey, beef or pie, I chose the beef which really looked tender and extreemly lean. There was a good choice of veg and roast and new potatoes and the gravy was quite thick and seemed full of meaty bits. We all enjoyed our first visit to this carvery but we will be going back, well done Madebrook..!!

This gem does the best lunchtime carvery you could possibly wish for, especially for the price of £4.89! lovely meats, superb freshly cooked vegetables and a good reasonably priced main menu if you don't fancy the carvery, we love the place and the staff are always very pleasant as well which is always a plus point in my book, i have no hesitation at all in heartily recommending this eatery if you want some good food.

Nine of us went for a birthday meal. Staff very friendly and service was very good. We all had the carvery which was delicious. I had beef and gammon which were both cooked really well. One of us was gluten free which was catered for. Gluten free yorkshire puds, gravy and a good choice of gluten free desserts. Excellent value for money. Pub is lovely and cosy. Thank you for a lovely meal. We will be returning soon.

Been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Tonight we arrived a little later than usual so just managed to get served by the skin of our teeth. The food as always was amazing! I could have eaten an entire plate of just their roasties with gravy and been happy! We live nearer to the Severn Gorge but will continue to go out of our way to visit The Madebrook every time!

Found the Madebrook on line and thought we would give them a try. A lovely big car park with good staff making us very welcome. Good seating and a Carvery providing a choice of 4 meats all superbly presented. The Gammon and Beef were very tender and tasty as were the 6 choice of vegetables and different sauces available. Another place we will return to.

Bar staff were friendly and efficient. Surroundings were clean and tidy although the flooring in the bar is a little tired. Ordered a lemonade and 2 excellent pints of Salopian Golden Thread - nice to see a quality real ale on offer!. Decided to try the carvery rather than ordering from the menu. Carvery was superb, one of the best I have tried. The beef was excellent, vegetables were cooked just right and piping hot. Its not often that everything on the plate is perfectly cooked. Excellent rhubarb crumble pudding. Good access for a wheelchairs and noise levels are comfortable for anyone wearing hearing aids.

We are now quite regular lunchtime visitors at this eaterie, and the carvery food is absolutely unbeatable,as are other items on the main menu that we have tried, the price of the lunchtime carvery at £4.89 is an absolute bargain, and every thing is so fresh and tasty, the roast beef is always tender and delicious, and our friend loves the roast turkey,as does my wife, however there is one item on the internet website that is listed, but has never been available? and i find this to be very disappointing? (Roast leg of Somerset pork) i love a bit of roast pork, and if it is listed on the menu it should be available? i have emailed the named contact here to ask why this is so, but they have never had the common courtesy to reply to me,it would make a pleasant change from beef.

We came out for my birthday dinner. Myself, partner and 2 children. The waitress was beyond amazing, took our drinks order and was so quick! We ordered our food, I ordered a lot of sushi, my partner the lamb chops and both kids had the kids burgers. The lamb chops were tasty, the kids enjoyed the burgers but my goodness - the sushi was absolutely mind-blowing!!! I enjoy my sushi and have it regularly and this was the best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! I do not understand why this restaurant isn’t busier!!! They deserve to be busy all the time! If your nearby give them a chance!!!
