Visited today with my husband for two vegan hotdogs. Waited 30 minutes and went to counter to see if we had been forgotten, was told with no apology they had some big orders. 15 minutes later our food arrived with an apology about the wait. My husbands order was in correct, they took it away and corrected the order but his hotdog was cold when it was returned. When we went to pay we offered feedback as none was asked for and the response was that there was only two of them working and they were busy. No discount offered or compensatory cake or such. It cost £22 for a thoroughly poor experience.

Always look forward to new café visits to try out their produce hoping to find something different. Well yes this is different with a good hygiene rating (5) and that's very good, décor unusual especially good for kids perhaps. Now as for the food and drinks we would give coffee a "0" fine if you like cappuccino with no coffee. Food looks like the cake may be made onsite and that's ok. With breakfast the toast is nice and thick so that's a plus. The last bonuses are that there is a car park opposite and dogs are welcome and that's unusual in this town so its a good step forward.

Visited The Mad House for lunch today with family (a mixture of adults and children). Superb place. Lovely decor, very friendly and attentive staff and really tasty food. Wide range of food choices from all day breakfasts to pancakes with all the toppings! Loads for vegans and vegetarians too. Children especially enjoyed the milkshakes and smoothies. A short hop across the road from Felixstowe cinema. I highly recommend a visit. We will be back! 😊

Went here today for lunch with my wife and young children. Had a delicious toasted sandwich with salad and crisps. Smoothie was great too. My son had lovely chocolate milkshake and children's platter - see photo - everything a child could want! Lots of toys to play with and really friendly staff - great to see an independent cafe - please support.

Same food, but two versions. Brilliant! What a fabulous find! I had the bar-b-que vegan burger, and it was amazing - juicy, grilled, and the bun was big enough., fries were delicious, and the shakes, oh my! I had a vegan fry’s peppermint... 🤤🤤🤤. As a vegan, sometimes I worry that a place that also has meat it will smell off-putting to me, this didn’t in the slightest! Great decor, and wonderful friendly owners! And it’s in Felixstowe! The kids loved their vegan hot dogs, and the menu has so many more things to try next time we are here. Yum!!

On the edge of Felixstowe town centre - opposite a large 'pay for' car park is this zany establishment based around Lewis Carroll's Mad Hatter. It is a small cafe offering breakfast and lunch meals and snacks PLUS an amazing selection of Milk Shakes. I had their mini all day breakfast which comes with a mug of tea or coffee. Good quality and good value. Temptation got the better of me and I had a morello cherry ice cream as a desert. The girls are very welcoming and the food is prepared to order. The decor is great fun to inspect. Give it a try - you will like it.

Food and service ok, but far too expensive. One thin slice of cheese and ham on a cheddar and ham ploughman's meal ? Salad out of a bag ?. Joke at their prices.

Stayed here for the Easter Break from good Friday till the Monday. Such a lovely feel to this hotel. The food on Saturday evening was to die for we had our friends join us and all had Beef Wellington and all agreed the best one we have ever had ! Second time staying at this hotel and would definitely go back as staff and management are lovely.

Ver disappointed. Two young girls on duty who were indifferent to our questions. We sat down and neither came to ask if we needed drinks before ordering. There was only one other family in the restaurant. Left without ordering. Have been before with better results but not happy with the lack of service.

We took advantage of an unexpectedly sunny Sunday to take a friend in a wheelchair for a stroll on the prom and brunch at the Alex — where we knew there was an accessible loo, should it be needed. Our order included a vegan breakfast, muffin and poached eggs and smoked haddock fishcakes, plus cake. All were good, fresh and well-cooked. Hats off to the chef who perfectly poached those eggs. The staff were friendly and professional and went out of their way to help us with wheelchair manoeuvring. The place feels well-run.

Called in for a meal here on a week night. We were told to book, but really didn't need to as there were only 6 other people in at the time we were there. The food was excellent, as was the service, but the room we ate in was very tired and in need of refurbishment. That said, we would return for the good food.
