Spent a lovely time here having afternoon tea, celebrating a birthday. Beautiful surroundings and it all felt very special. Staff friendly, couldn't fault it.

We came here for afternoon tea. We sat outside on the terrace and it was at least 10 minutes before someone came to us. The sandwiches didn't feel very fresh, the scones were quite dry and so were the cakes. I had to ask the waiter to bring us the prosecco which i had booked with the afternoon tea. He never asked us anything, didn't really engage with us and only came over to the table once while we were there when i asked him for some more tea. It wasn't busy there, for most of the time we were the only ones outside, so a little disappointed that not a great deal of effort was made in making sure we were ok for tea or asking if everything was ok. The grounds were beautiful, we took a little walk around them and that was probably the best thing about the afternoon! I then had to find someone to ask them where could i pay, there was only one person around and she was sitting down on an ipad! I apologised to my friend as i had taken her out for her birthday but felt the afternoon wasn't what i expected it to be. Definitely wont be back

We went to The Lytton, which is in a beautiful setting, for a birthday afternoon tea with our family. The staff were excellent and really helpful. The selection of sandwiches, scones, cream, jam and cakes were delicious. We would definitely recommend The Lytton and are looking forward to our next visit. Sent from my iPad

My friend and I visited The Lytton at Chalfont Dene today for an afternoon tea and I had to write a review as soon as we had gotten back as the whole experience was beyond amazing, truly such a find! Firstly the staff here are wonderful, super attentive, friendly and helpful, checking in on us regularly to make sure we were okay, but not rushing us, allowing us to spend as long as we liked, (we are known to spend hours enjoying afternoon tea!) providing regular tea top ups when needed. And the afternoon tea fare itself was absolutely delicious! The bread super soft & the fillings well seasoned on the sandwiches, we inhaled them in record time. And the cakes and scones were scrumptious. We had the loveliest time here and highly recommend to others, we already can't wait to come back!

Always quite variable here. Pretty poor this meal, should have known not to have the Xmas meal at my age! Just sprouts for vegetables and very thick slices of turkey. Steak was ok, I think I’ve had that before and was ok. Chocolate mousse - runny, didn’t eat it. Service is good and of course convenient for visiting elderly relatives.

Visited in early November 2023 to make a booking for an Annual Dinner for a party of 40 in January 2023. Very pleasantly received by restaurant manager, assured this would all be fine, and advised Menu with prices and parking plan would be emailed over following our visit. The parking plan was important as parking for the restaurant needs to be on site, and with 40 guests we could be requiring 20 places. Neither a Menu nor a parking plan had materialised as of 5th December 2023, despite two phone calls and four emails to chase it up. In a telephone call on 23rd November 2023 we were assured the date was OK, and the details were coming that day or the next. In frustration I spoke directly with the General Manager on 5th December 2023, who indicated it would be difficult to accommodate a party of 40 in the restaurant, and confirmed that in any case the date we thought we had booked was not available as the Village had an owner event taking place. It was further stated that they could not accommodate the number of cars our party would have generated. The booking management of this restaurant requires review. This Review relates to a failed booking and not to a meal in the restaurant.

We went to The Lytton for Sunday lunch and whilst the food was lovely and the restaurant was very nice with good service I think the website should make it clearer that it’s located in a retirement village! We were the only table without an elderly (I assume resident) with us so we did feel very out of place and a little uncomfortable. Aside from that we had a lovely time. Just wish we hadn’t been surprised by the location on arrival!

We took my mother for afternoon tea to celebrate her 94th birthday. Lovely setting, easily accessible, though not easy to find the restaurant. We were met (not greeted) by staff who asked us which table we wanted then what drinks we wanted before we even sat down. There was no menu, no description of the food we were to expect or choice of teas - he just seemed to want to get the food on the table and leave us to it. We were the only table in the restaurant and there was obviously a function in in the evening so we were surrounded by huddles of staff who ignored us but proceeded to move tables, lay out and prepare for the night and repeatedly walk back and for on the phone - we felt an inconvenience. Fortunately the first staff member serving us was replaced by a second who was a little more personable but, despite my telling them on booking that this was a special birthday celebration, not one person said anything to my mother in the way of congratulations. Even more disappointing as this place must surely be used to dealing with older people - which is partly why I chose it. The food was ok - reasonable sandwiches, good warm scones and a cake selection. I didn’t like that each person was served just half of a very small bun rather than a whole - it just felt penny pinching. Maybe they had simply run out as it wasn’t the freshest of the cakes. I wouldn’t return as sadly there was no sense of occasion and it all felt rather amateur, awkward and average.

I enjoy an afternoon tea and was looking forward to experiencing it at this new venue. The location, parking, gardens and dining room are clean beautiful and elegant. Our booked table was in a pretty spot by the window overlooking the gardens. The staff were very polite and friendly but lack any real interest or wow in service. We had to see ourselves to our table, Our waiter did not tell us what the sandwiches or cakes were when delivering them we had to ask. Nobody came to ask if we had all we needed at any point or check on us to ask if all was ok and we had to continually call over the waiter to ask for what we needed or go up to the bar.. more water, more tea ( as the two small tea pots for 5 people were never going to be enough) Despite carrying in balloons for my mum not one member of staff wished her a happy birthday or asked her if she enjoyed her visit The food was delicious but extremely light on sandwiches by usual standards. I can only think this is due to the price as it is very reasonably priced. I will go again as it was really very nice but I would definitely not go or recommend for a special occasion as it was for our visit an 80th birthday because we were not made to feel special by any of the staff.

Beautiful setting, Hannah the waitress was lovely and have nothing to say other than good things about her but the food was to say the least not good , a birthday dessert was brought out and I thought it was complimentary as had not asked for it but I saw on the bill I was charged I thought this was dreadful as out of the four of us only two wanted dessert . We will return for afternoon tea as the gardens are lovely i hope it is better than lunch .

We had a lovely afternoon tea at this delightful club on Friday. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The waitress was delightful and made us feel very welcome. We were lucky enough due to good weather to sit outside where the views are stunning. One small point - we ordered the Royal Afternoon Tea which came with an alcoholic drink - we chose Pimms Royal which was lovely. However the afternoon tea presented was not as detailed but resembled their standard tea albeit great

My fiancée and I had afternoon tea on a lovely sunny day in April within a garden setting of an hotel that is along-side an upmarket retirement home in Buckinghamshire. The Lytton in Chalfont has a garden that stretches into the distance with a lovely pond and upmarket retirement homes encroaches giving it a wonderful setting of peace and tranquility! The actual afternoon tea (from the photo provided) shows a nice selection, there were delicious and it was great along with our (free of charge) glasses of Prosecco - must be our presence - from the management team. Overall, a rare find and definitely worth visiting again. One great tip though, make sure you book at least a day before so that there is no booking delay because another family booked on the day and did not receive email confirmation of their booking but turned up after a long drive only to have to wait for a table due to the booking not being found on the customers email or on the restaurant system!

I have become a regular at Audley Dene Lytton restaurant and bar. We live close by and it is just wonderful to be able to have somewhere we can go to for amazing food and such a friendly yet professional atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. We go as a family and also take anyone that comes to visit us for either lunch, dinner or just a drink wether that be a delicious coffe or a pimms in the summer months. I have experienced lunches outside on the beautiful terrace in the summer and cosy dinners over the Christmas period and regularly on a Sunday. The team and the residents are so welcoming and cater for all ages, family’s are welcome I have a young baby and everyone there makes such a fuss of him it’s a lovely environment. I recently attended a James Bond casino night and it was such fun! We made new friends and tried some wonderful cocktails and canapés! I have never come away from this place feeling anything less that extremely satisfied, the food is Devine as are the people that work there! It is always so clean and impeccablly looked after. Booked afternoon tea for three people. Got to have been the worst afternoon tea experience I have had. Consisted of five slices of bread with different toppings. So that's not even two each. Six scones, two small jam jars and one small saucer of cream. The cakes on top were not much better, three with sliced fruit, four small brown cakes and five small macaroons. All for the price of £16.99 each. If there had been anybody to speak to believe me we would have.Terrible

We lunched at Lytton's yesterday and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The décor is truly sumptuous, both in the bar area and in the dining room. We loved the comfortable upholstered dining chairs, immaculate table linens and gleaming glassware and cutlery. Overall the place is elegant and very comfortable, with views from the dining room out across the lake and fountain. There is a lovely terrace from which to admire the view, too. The food, too, was divine. The seafood and fish were beautifully cooked and the accompaniments were imaginative and tasty. Unlike at another famous chef's eatery in the village, the vegetables were not charged for separately, unless you wanted extras. The desserts were delicious and beautifully presented and all was served up promptly by a friendly and most efficient waitress. The Sauvignon Blanc was good and we thought the prices were reasonable for such fine dining.

Cycled past many times looked v nice so decided to pop in for a drink 2 weeks ago. Barmaid v chatty good feel about the place lighting perfect candles on nice background music. You could tell the lady working cared about the business! After this visit we decided to go back last night for a meal. So different no smile or hello when walked in 2 team working just didn’t look happy actually looked like they had fallen out. Sat at table one of them brought menu then we chose a bottle of wine which was nice and came quick. We then sat there 15 mins before getting up and asking if we ordered at the bar or were they coming over.one if them came over and took the order, food came around 30 mins later. The food was ok but pies could have been bigger with more filling. After finishing nobody came and asked if we would like a dessert in the end I had to get up and ask for the bill. We then left feeling v disappointed all round. Such a nice first visit what happened why such a let down. With prices high and pub in a small village out of the way it needs to be good every time not every other for it to survive in this tough environment. Not sure if will come back again 🤔
