Well it was rammed and there was no room to move. As a standard weatherspoons floors were sticky and chairs half broken. The tables were also sticky too and the menus were disgusting and needed re done There was no staff in the restaurant to clear tables so they were left for over an hour with empty plates and glasses it was absolutely filthy I would never go back the only thing that was good was the price Food was like warm and sparse if you would like to get drunk quickly on a budget in a filthy place best place to go 👎🏼

Drinks very cheap , Doombar £2.10 a pint, Abbot £2.88 , both good, but the food , sausage, beans and chips were terrible, with a pint £9 +. A spoonful of beans stuck to the plate, cold chips , the sausages however were pretty good but last time we will eat here. This pub has been going downhill for some time to be honest.

It has to be the worst service I have experienced at a weatherspoons establishment, the bar staff may as well be none existing, I ordered a beer at the place I was standing for it to be poured and served 15ft away and then ignorance kicked in with the server and told my drink is there..pure utter pathetic customer service..had 1 pint and left.

Am here at least once each week. It’s a typical J D Wetherspoon establishment and the food is generally good and quick to arrive. Conveniently situated in the centre of town there are some outdoor tables as well as the large inside area. Service is good and the staff and management are hard-working. It could possibly do with some updating and refurbishment, and the main toilets are up quite a few stairs (although there is a ‘disabled’ one at ground level). You can’t get a decent meal cheaper than here anywhere else in town and drinks are a fraction of the price at other pubs/restaurants.

By far the worst Wetherspoons I have been too , it was so dirty everywhere , I appreciate if staff are busy but the floor was covered in litter , the tables covers in old food where they had taken plates away but not come back to clean up , the ladies toilets were disgusting, the orders were not correct for drinks , the food was ok but just thrown on the plate no care what’s so ever , we have visited many Wetherspoons as it’s normally to a good standard but this was a place to be ashamed of , there is only so much you can blame on being short staffed ,

Being a stinking hot Saturday, I did not want to wander around Horsham too much looking for an evening meal. This place was not too far from my hotel, so I decided to give it a go. My first choice was the steak and kidney pud, but then thought that was probably too heavy for the weather. My next choice was the curry. This turned out be be a decent choice, as the curry was not too spicy. The meal took slightly longer than anticipated arriving, but not overly long. After demolishing my meal, I fancied a dessert, so went up to the bar to order. Unbeknown to me, a member of staff cleared my table while I was ordering. Including the remains of my pint of beer. Admittedly there was not a huge amount of beer left, but to me they were a bit previous by completely clearing my table. The staff were friendly enough, so I cannot complain about that. The pub had regulars in, who seemed to know the staff quite well.

I was a solo female visiting a friend in the area and decided to pop in for a glass of wine before I went back to my hotel opposite. The staff were so rude and blunt. I appreciate Saturday nights are busy but it wasn’t overly busy when i was there. Yes there were a few groups on tables but the staff were so rude and treated me like I was one of them. I hadn’t even finished my glass of wine when one of the staff members came and took my glass away and said we are closed. It was 23.10 so yes just before closing time but no need to take my drink away and boot me out like they did so Rudly. Very unimpressed and wouldn’t recommend. Needs major staff training!!!

We used to visit this place quite regularly, although enough is enough, no more. There needs to be a serious change at The Cross. This needs to start from the Manager and work it’s way down. I have never encountered such a poor disregard that this management team have for its customers. Surly and uninterested in people. They work in hospitality after all, the clue is in the word! Start running this establishment like a pub again, and not like detention centre to suite yourselves, and your on the road to recovery, and off the road to hell. Tim, send in your secret visitors and quick, before you call time on another of your pubs. Because in its present state, the Cross would be a very easily forgotten bad dream.

Just as well no one was eating their meal. A waiter came to clear tables and never said anything to her. It was absolutley packed, social distancing was a joke and watched serving staff go from table to table without any hand cleaning. My friend and I decided we would go out for our first get together since March and thought The Lynd Cross was a bigger venue where we could socially distance in. On entering we saw signs for hand sanitizing good start. We were surprised that there was no one to check us in to keep tabs on numbers etc so we just went and sat down in one of the cubicles which we considered safer. On the wall was a sign with the details for track and trace but unless you have a new mobile phone which uses q reader its no good , so when we saw a staff member we asked what we had to do for track and trace. He said to use the paper forms on the tables which wasnt a problem for us though we did not witness anyone else doing the track and trace . The staff definately do need training on social distancing, twice a member of staff, without warning leaned right over us to collect our plates and glasses without first asking and giving us a chance to move out the way. I also witnessed a staff member wash the table in front of a disabled man sitting opposite us and he was less than two feet away from his face, this is just not acceptable. At this point we decided it was time to leave and proceeded to the bar area as we were not sure what we were supposed to do with the track and trace information as you have to say when you leave the premises. My friend asked the assistant behind the bar and she just took the paper and put it on the side!!! Who knows where this goes or who,s got it?? You can see why track and trace is not working! We have decided we will not venture back until they get it, and we know most of the staff are young but they have to understand what socially distancing means. The wetherspoons website says they provide shields and gloves as needed for staff but if they dont make them wear them they dont. Until businesses can show they are doing all they can to keep customers safe people will shun going to these places and keep the economy going.

We arrived at 1pm, had to take a recently departed table that wasn’t yet cleared by staff, & 4 pints later( after resigning to the fact we were already infected by something horrendous )still wasn’t cleaned despite 6 staff members, 2 of which walked past us constantly & didn’t get the hint why we were afraid to rest our glasses on the discussing table. Zombie like symptoms could be one to look out for. This is the worst Wetherspoons we have ever visited!! Visiting Horsham as a base for the South Downs and we thought Wetherspoons would be a safe bet for dinner last minute. This is not a safe place to go! Especially right now. The tables were full of dirty glasses, asked for our table to be cleaned and was greeted with an unhappy “I hate Monday’s now” after ordering our drinks we waited 20 mins for them to be served. We chose not to eat due to the reasons already stated, plus it smelt like vomit. Another observation was the amount of young people, some seemed to just be sat with no food and drinks (or empties) just on their phones. And lots of others drinking alcoholic drinks which looked very underage (I cannot obviously confirm this and I’d like to think they had all been IDed) This establishment seriously needs checking in lots of ways. Have visited this pub on many occasions as a couple and with family, the state of the place leaves a lot to be desired, dirty tables usually filled up with used glasses and plates of uneaten food the floor usuallly has peices of food on it.The main problem seems to be not enough staff to keep the place looking clean and inviting ,obviously.this pub chain relies on its low prices to entice people in.

This pub was just across the road from where I was staying, so I thought I'd give it a try and I wasn't aware that there is dining area just round the corner from the bar, so this made eating a lot more pleasant.

Family decided to do a surprise visit and they chose this establishment. I was bitterly disappointed firstly with the sticky carpets and then the seats that we are supposed to sit on there were all terribly stained and I mean bad. The tables where dirty as well. The food arrived promptly but was very average. Very disappointed and unfortunately will not be back.

Went here for breakfast, had eggs benedict, food was cold and cutlery was dirty. Worst thing was there were a group of skag heads shouting at each other and pretending to fight. Don't expect much from wetherspoons but not great

Sure: Value food; value beer but shabby seating and sometimes troublesome atmosphere . Didn't feel comfortable, I had to search for a clean chair to sit on. The night I was in there there was a punch up. Those involved were first bashing up against the pub doors - loads of noise and violence, then running around inside the pub. I credit the small manageress though. She chucked them out.

We ordered the Fish and Chips since it was Friday. My Wife had the Scampi. First problem they came out with my Fish and Chips and a small Fish and Chips which was not what we ordered. So they took the Small Fish and Chips back and I ate the Fish and Chips. The Scampi and Chips arrived after I had finished my Fish and Chips and it arrived cold. Since we had no table checks I had to almost carry the food back to the Kitchen myself and told the Waitress "Please return this to the Kitchen since it is cold"

Thought I write about this as it is beyond my expectation. We read the reviews before going in but we really fancy fish & chips at the time, so we have decided to go in despite the poor reviews.

We decided to eat at the Lynd Cross yesterday. As it was 11.30am, we opted for traditional breakfast plus coffee, rather than lunch. We found a table for the two of us. However, many tables hadn't been cleared, which was preventing other customers from finding somewhere to sit. Eventually, a young man came and cleared most of the tables.

Couldn't believe it but as soon as we walked in there was a really weird smell. Couldn't put my finger on it for a while ...then all of a sudden it hot me. The whole place stinks of gammon! ... needless to say we didn't hang around. Avoid.

Yet again another breakfast missing bits from the plate. My wife's had no hash browns. And there was a puddle of tomatoe sauce were the beans should have been. And when the staff bought some beans. Breakfast was cold. mine had side order of black pudding which was like chew gum. Not cooked. Think it must have been microwaved. All in all. The coffee was the only thing you can't muck up. This isn't the first time you trashed my breakfast.

We wanted a quick snacky breakfast on Boxing Day morning and we went to Pret shortly after it opened at 8.30am but unfortunately at that time they did not have their full compliment of food available that would normally comprise breakfast time so we headed to the Lynd as it was well and truly open. There were quite a few customers in there including numerous of the more senior age. We ordered a hot chocolate and breakfast wrap and also a never ending mug of coffee which was exceptional value - unlimited top ups. I had three lattes. The hot chocolate was a cube of Belgian choc to be dipped in a mug of hot milk that you fetched from the hot drinks dispenser. The breakfast wrap of sausage, bacon, egg, hash brown was very acceptable according to my daughter and she ate it all. I made use of the Sky Cloud wifi that I was already signed up for from a previous venue - a KFC I think. I enquired about dinner and was told hot dishes would be served until 11pm on that Boxing Day but infact we didnt need to go back.

I have eaten here a few times when in Horsham and time is of the essence. Let's start with the overall feel: grimy and run-down. There's a typical beer waft as you step in and the lighting is pretty dingy. The tables were all covered in sticky deposits from countless peoples food and drink.

A group of ten of us were out for a quick drink. Nipped in to the Lynd Cross for a drink before curry about 2000hrs on a Friday. Bar area was quiet. We went to the bar to see what they were serving. As we started to order we were asked to move a way from the bar as you could only stand at the bar while ordering, you could not stand at the bar and drink. Finding it a bit strange that you could not drink at the bar we asked why. We were told it stopped people ordering. We followed the request to find that once we had moved away from the bar there was absolutely no one at it and for member of staff waiting to serve. Any quires about beers needed to be shouted to staff.

The Lynd Cross, located around a 15 minute walk from Horsham train station, offers cheap drinks, with a good selection. The service I had was friendly although the interior and exterior of the pub is very dated and could do with a refresh soon. A good choice if you are concerned with price above everything else.

Usually I have been very happy with the cakes and coffee here, always fresh and tasty but Saturday we purchased some doughnuts and it was obvious on first bite that they were stale, at least from the previous day. Little jam also. Disappointed

We had a really lovely roast dinner here! The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. Before lunch from the carpark we did a 2 hour walk through green meadows and woodland. This pub is a great spot for food and a beautiful countryside walk.

Scruffy interior - not clean. We ordered lunch and sat outside. Was given a box of cutlery condiments with various sauces to carry to our table outside. , the dispenser lid of the mustard was black with ancient sticky dried on mustard and dirt. i told the one member of staff who apologised, took it away, threw it in the bin behind the bar, but did not replace . No salt or pepper. Waited nearly an hour to be served.. food was dumped on our table with no apology. My sea bass was served swimming in oil. No waiting on tables ourside so not easy to complain after such a long wait. Moved inside as we were cold and asked for a coffee - the same one member of staff who was behind the bar as well as serving food, looked shocked and seemed nervous of such a request but agreed to try to make us one coffee and one tea but then came to our table o say she couldn't work the machine - so no hot drinks!! We left and will not be returning.i regretted paying up front for such a poorly cooked and presented and delayed lunch.
