Had a breakfast bap today. Quality of produce was excellent as always. Only down side was the unavailability of French sticks on a Sunday? This was made up by the professional service and very friendly atmosphere provided by Dawn and Lucy. Well done Lunch Box Havant!

Just had a bacon, egg and mushroom bap. Best I've had for years. Proper soft bap roll. Asked me how I wanted my egg cooked and cooked to perfection. Very friendly.

Terrible value for Money!!! Paid over 5 pounds for a bacon and sausage sandwich to be given 1 sausage and 1 rasher of bacon. Would never go back!

Stood for 10 minutes in the rain while they had two customers to serve then took someone else's order who just turned up at the wrong entrance. In that time they only had two people to serve and still managed to get one of the orders wrong! Poor customer service. Don't seem to have a clue of how to run this facility efficiently. Could be great if the employees where not so absolutely useless.

The Bear Hotel, situated on the north side of East Street a stone's throw from the centre of this red-brick Georgian settlement - made prosperous by the sale of Parchment and Watercress - is probably the most distinguished and historic place to eat, drink and spend the night in the south Hampshire market town of Havant. Indeed, none other than His Grace the First Duke of Wellington, victor of the Battle of Waterloo, stayed here in 1820 when he visited Havant in order to open the first permanent wooden bridge which linked nearby Hayling Island to the rest of England. The large entrance from what was once the main trunk road linking Southampton to Dover, and the extensive back yard (now used for car parking) confirm that The Bear is the sole survivor of Havant's two, 18th Century Coaching Inns, the other - The Antelope - having been demolished to make way for a dull, 1960's shopping precinct. The Bear is a dog-friendly, 42-bedroom hotel owned by the Greene King Inns pub chain. Their usual range of draught and bottled beers (including my personal favourite, Old Speckled Hen) are on offer in the cosy public bar,, where a roaring log fire welcomes visitors during the colder months of the year. The Dinner Menu includes such old favourites as Slow-Cooked Lamb Shank with Buttered Mash (or even Chips!) for GBP 20:50, or - if you prefer - Beef and Ale Pie with Broccoli and Mash for GBP 14:00. There is an extensive and reasonably-priced wine list, including such gems as Picpoul de Pinet from the south of France for GBP 22:49 per bottle, but the Reds, Whites and Rose's are also sold by the glass in small, medium and large portions. There are a couple of 3-Pin, 240 Volt power sockets in the Public Bar and wireless internet access, although not especially fast, is free-of-charge. The bar staff are, as always, models of friendliness and helpfulness.

Well where do I start.....! We ordered 2 adult vegan meals, 1 children's vegan meal, 1 adults burger meal and 1 meat free carvery. The meat free option at the carvery was 2 yorkshire puddings (?) It was all only luke-warm and very bland. The vegan burgers arrived with bacon in them. We sent them back and were told that it would be another 15 minutes to get fresh burgers. The children's meal was left on the counter and not brought over so we collected it ourselves. When the fresh vegan burgers arrived they were served with a side on coleslaw in mayonnaise. At the end of our meal we had to go and ask for the children's ice lolly which took another 10 mins to arrive. It wasn't particularly busy time as there were lots of empty tables. This was very disappointing as we had had a very nice meal there 2 days before. I will not be returning!

Got an order for the 4 of us. 3 turned up fine, but the expensive gluten free pizza was a total state. Spoke to a gentleman called Ryan, sorted everything out with a happy tone and came across like he was genuinely happy to help. He single handedly prevented me from posting their pizza back to them. The team may still need to up their game a bit but 5 stars go to that man
