The Lullingstone Castle in Sevenoaks

So much has changed it such a short space of time. Was here Friday with some friends for drinks before and after the fireworks. I couldn’t believe how busy it was!! What a great atmosphere and so good to see everyone smiling and laughing. What a change to a year ago!! The team there are amazing. Jade and Adam have done a great job turning the pub around!

Just popped in for a cheeky drink and was so impressed with the difference in the place. A totally different vibe to what it was to even a couple of weeks ago. We had been put off by the atmosphere of the place previously for the past year or so and stopped going which was a shame as it’s our local but tonight we were pleasantly surprised, it was lovely. We stayed long than intended had a few drinks extra and had a lovely time. Polite staff and great service by all! Long may it continue

I’ve been a resident in Swanley for over 27 years and have never used the Lullingston Castle Pub but i eventually went for a lunch there and was pleasantly surprised Michelle and Adam couldn’t have done more and the food was amazing, I will certainly be visiting again and telling friends and family to visit

Went there with my wife, daughter and grandson and it was great. A couple of drinks and a lovely lunch. Thank you to Michelle (the boss) for meeting my daughter and grandson who came over from N Ireland to surprise me. Great pub for food and drink x

Travelled up from South wales to visit my daughter, only had a couple of drinks and was seen by jade,she was so helpful and professional and is an asset to the pub.will be visiting again.

The food is excellent. The nachos and the sharing platter were so delicious that we had to order a second round. The bartenders are very attentive and helpful.

First time I visited this place with my friend and our kids and was disgusted with the manner of the staff and their attitude when I pointed out that burgers had no taste

The Lully Team were absolutely fantastic last night for our son 18th birthday. Food was fantastic, tasted great and brilliant portion size. Service at the bar was quick and staff were polite and friendly. Being a local at this pub we always feel welcome and on this occasion my family travelled from Essex and said how lovely and welcoming our little local is. Big shout out to Michelle, Steph, Sophie and Sally for a great service. Thank you from us Barton’s. See you again real soon!

Ive been a local here for years , as much as i appreciate the sport on offer and the cheap drinks , i have to point out that the staff are lazy and really dont care for your custom! The bar staff dont want to be there and all they care about is how to make their shift easy , they dont care how long you wait and prefer to serve someone near the till whos just rocked up when youve been patiently waiting for 20 mins at the other end of the bar . The payment system is old and fixed to the bar , often the bar is deserted , the staff eventually appear from a room at the end of the bar , sometimes as you wait , a head will appear to look and see whos waiting to be served - if its a regular customer then youll be kept waiting , if its someone unknown then they will make an effort to serve so in my book , the regular customer is treated with dismissive contempt . I feel the staff need retraining , another time i returned empty glasses to the bar only to be met with a dirty stare ! I just cant spend any more time here , even if it’s convenient!

Superb service, friendly staff, decent food, reasonable priced, nice atmosphere, highly recommend. You can definitely tell the difference since the new land lady has taken over, lovely little gem of a place!

Death of my local, for nearly 20 yrs I've seen 6 or seven landlords come & go. Even became such friends with some we'd occasionally go visit them at their new pubs. I have watched as people are driven away from my local by the new landlady who is very loud & very rude to the customers, shouting instructions from behind the bar at staff & customers alike. Now that she has gone from bar maid to manager she doesn't believe she has to pour a pint anymore either, she just summons one of her minions to do it, while she goes off for one of her very frequent cigarettes. She has perfected the art of closing up by telling staff to ring the last bell quietly so people don't get a chance to buy a drink before last orders. Then harassing customers with orders to put drinks in a plastic glass straight after last bell, even standing over you while she makes you down your drink, or it will be taken away, sometimes attempting to take your glass out of your hand, or off the table, if not carefully guarded. It's the only pub I know where you get treated worse if you are local & if she knows your name, it's worse even more than that, I cannot see how Greene King are making ANY money with this particular pub as the customers are being driven away in droves & in a bad mood because of how they have been spoken to. I think Greene king would be able to work out which of their pubs this is by the lack takings in the last two or three quarters & especially at New years, If you are reading this you know who you are, well done in destroying our local. If you don't like serving drinks you are in the wrong job. Solution, Urgent New Manager Required/Wanted/Urgently Needed Former Green king customer

Come back for the first time in may and left a great review & come back for a Christmas drink & some dinner again this month & as per my last visit it didn’t let us down! Staff, landlady all friendly and made an effort to have a conversation with us making us feel welcome. The only down side was a very silly customer shouting and being very disrespectful towards the land lady which lead us to make sure she was ok out of concern for her. I can see his even left a bad review on the 13/12/23 for 1 star he must be a very bitter man. We feel she handled this with dignity, respect & in the best manner giving us confidence that the pub has definitely changed its reputation around to what is now an amazing atmosphere for everyone. So once again thank you Michelle & Team. Claire & Dave.

Having made a recent complaint to the manager I now find myself ostracised by said manager many customers witnessed her attitude towards me in saying it as it is customers are shown no respect in this establishment unless you are part of the managers click

Every time I have been here I have only found friendly staff and a manager who always wants you to have the best experience whether eating here or just popping in for a drink.

We've been here for lunch in the week before, but thought we'd give the Sunday roast a try - absolutely delicious. Plenty of meat, and lots of veg, cooked just right. Roast spuds and mash, a large stuffing ball and a Yorkshire! A really good plateful. Quick service, and such good value.

We can actually say that this is such a friendly welcoming pub to go to for a nice lunch, the garden is lovely and peaceful and has lovely flowers/hanging baskets. I met a friend here as it was in the middle of us both (Kent & herts) we were off to visit the actual castle in Eynsford and thought this was perfect place to start. We prebooked but didn’t have to but we’re welcomed by name when we arrived. Very lovely staff and delicious food. Not the nicest setting as in town centre but free parking and excellent value. We sat in a lovely outside courtyard which was well kept with flowers. Toilets were clean and felt COVID friendly. Lovely place to eat

Been visiting this pub on a weekly basis now for approximately 2years & I can’t recommend it enough. At every visit I find the bar staff very welcoming, friendly & professional. Always on hand to serve punters but also very attentive to those eating in too. There’s plenty of variety to choose from from the wide selection of beverages & food menu is exceptional value for money but also top quality meals. Never had bad service or been disappointed with our lunch & dinners. Michelle is a great asset to the Lullingstone Castle team, but overall by what I’ve found to be true is that all members of staff work hard & provide great service. Extra efforts hasn’t gone unnoticed during this pandemic- staff are very much in the ball to ensure all punters & staff stay safe. So to all the staff & management- keep up the fantastic work you all do .

Had a great time at the pub with lovely service from Michelle who was really friendly and attentive. We spent most of the afternoon there, watching the game, playing cards and also snooker. The food price was really reasonable too.

We popped to the lully Castle on Sunday, our first visit there since moving into the area and with the new covid restrictions... I must say that everything was put in place correctly....we was told what to do I.e with the face mask, one way entry...the bar staff were quick with your drinks when ordered and the lady who greeted us at the front door was friendly and welcoming and we will certainly be going back to the lully many more times

We had a roast dinner each it was really good fresh veg and Yorkshire but it was only £9.99 for the 2 it’s amazing value really like home made lovely staff especially Michelle who welcomed us and talked through the Covid rules track n trace etc what a lovely lady a credit to the pub so warm and friendly couldn’t have done more to make us welcome and feel valued we had a dink each and lovely deserts all for under £25 what a bargain and an enjoyable experience will definitely be returning soon

Great Pub good old school atmosphere warm welcome staff spot on managing all the Covid regulations really well. Visited today with my 11-year old son, he & I loved it.I’ve been to South Africa & today I felt like I had returned to Cape Town’s Botanical Gardens. Wow! What can I say?! How has the owner managed to collect such a fantastic selection of plants??? And it’s not just for plant lovers.... There are sculptures, plant tunnels, glass houses, maze-like passages & woodland walks for the kids. The ice-creams are good too. Thank you for a lovely day. We’ll be returning soon with the rest of the family.

On this visit The Lullingstone Castle pub seems to excel at following government guidelines with its one way system, socially distanced tables and booking system et al. Staff are helpful to explain the Track and Trace.Definitely a place I would visit again and recommend to others.

First time being back to the Lully since lock down has been lifted. Service was great, they were very warm, welcoming and attentive. There was four of us dining and our food came out together did not have to wait long at all, considering it was our lunch break. Great experience overall. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with smiles from the friendly staff who couldn’t do more for you, very organised for social distancing hand sanitizer and paper menus. Food was amazing and such a great price,Fabulous service did not have to wait long at all for our food which was fresh hot and presented well and was served with a smile. Being from the area I have visited this pub many times . The staff are brilliant and throughout the reopening have been nothing but professional in regards to the Covid laws .
