The Lukin in Camden

Love this pub especially as we are very well looked after by Pandy. It’s one of our locals, nice sparkling wine and beers, great food and lovely interior. Best time to be there when it’s quiet. For special occasions too

Never had food there but I've had lots of fun as there is a diverse group of people that are usually very nice. The staff are very nice

Good pub for groups with a nice selection of beer, however there are nicer pubs nearby but this is fine for a couple of pinots

Great bar for an after work drink.

The review is based on lunch we had on few Fridays. We were a maximum of 12 and we had to wait over an hour for our order to be served, and guess what the order was burgers and. The service was pathetic. The waiters always had a cold face and when we enquired about the order, they informed us that they prepare the order based on numbers and not per table or group. So people who came after us left early. Finally, when the order arrived, the crisps were served in big plates to be shared among us and the burgers were not that great either.

Por desgracia para nosotros estaba cerrado el domingo y el lunes de vacaciones, así que sólo tienes que ir una noche. Está justo en el corazón de Fitzrovia, pero está en una calle lateral, así que no se sabe que fue allí a menos que estuvieras andando por la calle Conway. La primera planta es un poco más moderno, pero todavía se siente como un pub de Londres Zona exterior agradable en frente del edificio para pasar el rato. Realmente no muchos coches en la carretera, así que puedes pasear libremente con una cerveza y no tener que preocuparse por motored. La parte de arriba era muy agradable. Una especie de pub típico comedor de arriba. Básico pero elegante. Tenía la parte de arriba para nosotros y era un lugar agradable para beber una cerveza o 6.

Orders take for ever to arrive even when they know you are regular customers. Even the waiters take you for granted

Tucked away pub. Quiet on weekends

Perhaps the best pub in Fritzovia. May be that in this case I am not being completely objective as I’ve been a local for the last... 7 years? But if I constantly come back is because it has the best atmosphere, a great selection of beers, super friendly bar tenders that are almost like colleagues and also very decent food. I can’t count how many amazing moments and great conversations I have had in that pub. (And how many to come!)

Nice beer selection, friendly staff

The Lukin is one of my favourites, fuzzball, good beer, cozy traditional pub, the staff is amazing but I have to say, they serve the best Cubano Sandwich in town, you have to try it, like going back to Havana on every bite! I could recommend this place blindfolded, top pub! Not a tourist point so it will not be packed, I guarantee!

Great pub. A charming interior, a fantastic menu (whenever they're doing the Croque Madame, it's a must have!) and a top range of beers. There's not a huge amount of outside space, but the oddly spacious interior makes up for this. Also, the photos in the gents. The one with the banana... yeah. It's worth going to see that alone.

Loved it here. Especially the food, came for lunch and loved it. Nom nom nom!

Nice pub, friendly staff, very noisy but a great atmosphere. Would prefer not to eat here as it was so crowded but liked the idea of their hot gin on a cold night. We stuck to a very decent bottle of Merlot

Been for lunch a few times. Can be a bit of a wait sometimes, but the food is always great. Gets very busy downstairs on a Friday, but there is a 2nd floor

Nice little pub. Used to be an O'Neill's, but is now independently owned and operated. Cosy area to the back, foozball table at the front and an outdoor drinking area to the front for sunny evenings

a small (only from outside) pub in the corner of a quiet street in Fizrovia but this has become another fav of mine!

A really lovely, small, traditional pub. A real mix of clientele here, from suits to work boots. If you're nearby and fancy a pint or two, definitely worth a visit.

This is not a place, this is institution.

What an attitude of serving clients. Lots of divas here. No smiles. Just slaming your drink carelessly on the table. No thanks. Find another job so we can enjoy our experience that we pay for.

Cute little traditional London pub.

Una verdadera sorpresa en este pequeño y precioso boozer me pareció justo al lado de tottenham court road. Yo estaba hambriento y mi tienen una cocina pop llamado Greenburg - American deli sándwiches estilo. Perfecto. Tuve el más increíble de sal, comidas con carne de ternera Reuben jugosas sal y saur kraut tradicional en pan de centeno riquísimos. Mi amigo tenía la foccacia, comidas de nuevo mozzarella con montones de ensalada, aguacate y salsa with romesco. Tanto no me decepcionó. Sin duda volveremos para probar el resto del menú. Vale la pena.

Great atmosphere, mainly standing room

Me encantó la foccacia jugoso bocadillo de pollo sazonado con remolacha, tomate, ensalada y aiolo. Mi compañero tenía la mi-bahn; fresco cocinado baguette, lento de cerdo estofados con hierbas y verduras en escabeche ligeramente. Tanto es muy sabrosa.Yo conversamos el nuevo chef, que resulta ser muy experimentado, habiendo trabajado en la Caprice, Fortnum y albañiles, Smiths de Smithfield. Se pueden cocinar de 1 a 50 hay tan estupendo para grupos pequeños a grupos de 50.

Visited for the first time for an effective altruism meetup, good space for a group and the aubergine veggy burger I had was very tasty and a nice departure from the usual lentil patties

There is one Bonzini table foosball. Great place!

A busy and buzzy fitzrovia pub. Worth a visit if you are nearby, probably not worth travelling to if you are more than 10 minutes away.

One of my favourite central London pubs, attentive staff, pleasant atmosphere, fairly decent alcohol selection.

Lo creas o no, yo en realidad ir en este pub un poco. Es menos concurrido que los contrabandistas y mejor ambiente de George. Sin duda no vayas por la cálida y cordial bienvenida. Casi todos, bien hay un hombre amable, joven, pelo rubio, sonrisas, sólo mira como si decir por qué te molestaba? Habiendo dicho eso, es un buen espacio y bastante bien arriba sala de eventos. No esperes una cálida bienvenida.

Damn fine burgers... and the beer is pretty good too.

Very very below average. I didn't think you could go wrong with ham, egg and chips, but boy was I wrong. The ham was rock hard it was breaking rather than being cut. My friend had the avocado and blue cheese salad with chicken. There was no blue cheese to be seen or tasted - the taste was more like mayo rather than a salad dressing. The salad was starting to turn brown which makes me think it had been prepared quite a while before. Staff were not overly friendly either and didn't ask if we had enjoyed our meal etc. The best thing about my lunch experience was the diet coke. A big thumbs down from me.

The table football was the highlight for me

One of my favourite pus in london. Friendly staff and great drinks all the way from ale and craft beer through to Whiskey and their own Gin.

Standard and even a bit pricey. Staff not too friendly. Compared to ither pubs the beet is a 10% more expensive, limited space to drink outside.

Best bar staff in London and a brilliant whisky selection.

El Lukin está escondido justo al lado de la Plaza de Fitzroy, pero eso no significa que está tranquilo - normalmente abarrotada, ruidosa, alegre y divertido. Buena variedad de cervezas, comida que es más funcional que bonito, y algunos música normalmente jugando.

Ordered a chicken burger and chips - hard to get wrong you would have thought. The 'chicken' was inedible - a very dried up morsel in a bun and the chips far worse than a McDonalds. I sent the meal back and it was replaced by some undercooked fish.This is a nice pub for a drink so I wouldn't want to put anyone off going there but food best avoided.

Has a pub game; Foosball. Great pub good for colleagues and groups. Very busy on Thursday and Fridays. I hear Guy Ritchie likes to down a pint or 2 here.

Excellent selection of beers and friendly bar staff

Popped in for a very quick lunch whilst in London on business. Not busy, food came out quickly and have to say my pork burger was very tasty. It's a nice pub, would happily go back.

A great night was had. The food was really good, you could tell it was fresh produce. Very knowledgable and friendly staff with a really good selection of spirits - we were very merry when we left!

Had an absolute amazing time at The Lukin. The staff were extremely friendly and wanted to know all about my stay. Had a great pub burger, the pork and chorizo burger, which I recommend highly. A hidden gem in London, you have to visit for a pint or 5! Well done Shaun and the team!

Cracking little boozer!! They're in the process of changing their food menu, I went for the beef burger, it was amazing!! Pink on the inside, juices running down my arms, so good. Complimented with a perfectly poured Guinness. Their whisky selection looks good as well, but that may have to wait for later.

Plenty of tables for a Friday night. Decent food and service.

We went to a private party at this pub on a Sat in July .. I thought it had a great selection of beers and ales, rooms were light and there was an upstairs for food to be served. Staff were very helpful and polite and the buffet food that we had was top notch! All in all a great London boozer in a nice area of london.

I've been here numerous times and has yet to disappoint. It's one of those pubs with a proper sense of itself with a very friendly atmosphere. They've got a great selection of global beers which is always great to see along with some interesting whiskeys. I've always found the staff very friendly, engaging and always happy to help. This place never fails to disappoint!Great music too!

If you're ever in the fitzrovia area and in need of refreshment make your way to 4 Conway street were you will find a super little pub called the Lukin.Expect friendly and attentive bar staff top quality food and a well stocked bar,including a solid selection of whiskys.We were there at lunchtime and although it was quite busy we did not have to wait long for the food and the bar staff still had time to serve drinks at the table,a nice touch.Would definitely call in again maybe one evening to work through the whisky selection!

Myself and a colleague had to stay over at the hotel around the corner so popped in for something to eat. It was quite busy, full of after work types but the staff got to us quickly enough. One guy with a beard even found the time to talk us through the beers!We both had burgers, I got the lamb, which was great and really large for the price! We even managed to have a game of table football with one of the locals and the barmaid. I'll be honest I'm not a fan of London and try to avoid it whenever I can but am looking forward to going back next time we're down for work.

I’ve been going to the Lukin for about a year as I work close by and keep coming back. The staff is really friendly and the service is fast, even if it’s busy. The atmosphere is welcoming, and with a wide drinks selection (note the impressive range of whisk(e)y!) and great music this is my favourite pub in the area. The Foosball table and quirky artwork on the walls featuring the pub itself is an added bonus. You can’t go wrong with a night at the Lukin!

Excellent pub, right by Tottenham Court Road and still off the beaten track, which makes for a diverse but pleasant crowd. Food is good value for money, staff is outstandingly friendly and quite knowledgeable, the whisk(e)y, rum and gin selection is unparalleled for such a non-pretentious little place. Would definitely recommend a visit. And the whisky/cheese pairing. Yum.

I went down to the Lukin with some mates not knowing what we were getting ourselves in for.... An awesome night! Staff were great and knowledgeable about everything :) you want whisky/whiskey, you want rum, tequila, beer and alongside that great music and friendly staff who treat you as friends rather than just punters, the lukin is the place for you.My new local pub even though I live in Brixton. Good variety of food at a reasonable price for central London. The burger was particularly good and the portion was huge. Attentive bar staff, even at 7pm on a Friday when the pub was packed. Very quick to get served at the bar.

Rude rude rude rude rude. The staff are so unhelpful. I got racially abused by another customer, they did nothing to help, they acted as if it was my fault. When I complained the Manager offered me a free drink, which of course I did not accept. In fact he was just as rude as the persons who abused me, in fact I think they are friendly.

Pretty busy for a Monday evening with a good atmosphere. Was served a nice glass of wine for standard London prices. Exactly what I think if when I imagine a traditional London pub, lots of character and cosy.

I went on a Monday night, so not the best evening to experience a pub. It was okay, the drinks were okay, the interior was okay, nice and relaxed. I can imagine this place to be a lot better in the summer.

Our dear friend suggested this place for his birthday lunch as it was close to where we work.When we arrived the place was pretty much empty and while the service wasn't terrible, they did not seem to have much clue about what was on the menu.The food wasn't very good at all, the menu limited and not particularly cheap.The fish and chips were particularly bad, served soggy and encased in a strange tasting chewy batter with over-powering garlic mushy peas that were close to inedible. The rest of the food looked to be reasonable, but nothing special at all.I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch based on our visit, there are far better places in the vicinity.Whilst we remain friends, he will not be allowed to choose the lunch destination again until his next birthday at the very earliest!

I was with my friend at this pub, we had a great time there. The food was very great. Great atmopshere, excellent beer selections. The staff were really friendly. Super pub in London! We had a fantastic night there.

Worst service I've ever received in London along with some truly abysmal food.The most hilarious thing about this place is their unapologetic way they go about their business - serving bad food, taking the cash and offending your as much as possible in the process. I have come away from being mugged feeling better about myself.The manager delegates any responsibility to his abrasive, inexperienced staff who know no nothing of the service industry other than bringing things to a table and then putting them down. Anything else they do is as though they've been briefed to straighten as many spines as possible in the process.The food is insulting enough without the staff adding insult to injury. Avoid at all costs.

Lovely hidden pub, really close to the BT Tower. Good range of beers and a changing menu. Feels like a good honest local pub untainted by over branding.

I contacted Tripadvisor and asked to have the Lukin added, as I thought people need to know about this fantastic pub. It's located right by the BT tower, in Conway street, just by Fitzrovia square. The staff in here are great, really friendly, always polite, offering table service for food and drinks as well. They offer some lagers (Peroni, Amstel) on tap, Guinness, and a few ales as well including my favourite....Doombar ! It's quite small inside and the best place to sit to eat is down the back, but there is more space upstairs if it's too busy. The food is great, with the legendary homemade burger being my favourite....little tip if you have the burger, ask for a ciabatta bun, holds it together better. The burger is huge...really big, and once you've added the home made ketchup to the fries it really tops it off. There is a decent menu on offer and the prices are reasonable for the large portions. There is a great atmosphere in this pub, great staff and fantastic food, so I'd recommend that you drop in and give it a try.Little tip...to get a decent table for lunch, get in there for around 12 before the big rush.

Possibly the closest to a local pub you'll find in this neck of the woods: it's moderately hidden and not hugely busy with "after-work" types. There's a small collection of guest beers - Ubu Purity and Sharps' Doom Bar - and both were served in their proper glass. The folks next to me had Belgian beer. Friday night, 10.30pm, and you can still find a table - not always easy to do. Good, nice, local place to go.
