Spread Eagle in Camden

I was here for a couple of evening drinks after work with my partner on a Saturday evening and was served by the wonderful Rachel , she made the experience so fun and made us feel very welcome ! Such a lovely pub and lovely staff members! 10/10 would visit again!

Good Sunday roast (had chicken and pork belly) and fish and chips. Lovely service and nice atmosphere.

Stopped off into The Spread Eagle for a bit of grub, had the sausage and mash which had a lovely twist with the cabbage. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Came here Sunday for a roast, the menu looked promising, however when the food arrived the only redeeming quality was the Yorkshire puddings. The mash potato was wet and resembled 'smash' made by a 3 year old with no comprehension of texture. Roast potatoes were dry, overcooked and cold, no parsnips in sight and a floppy charred wedge of cabbage. Seasoned by Ray Charles. However by the time a checkback was done, we had already gotten halfway through our meals as we waited almost 40 minutes for the food to arrive (understandable at a weekend) and were STARVING.

I had a lovely Sunday roast with friends (the pork belly way crispy and juicy)

Great atmosphere, especially when LFC is on their screens. Nice people, good service and pretty good food. Glutenfree menue available 👏🏼

Tuve una reunión con algunos amigos de la universidad y realmente quería venir aquí para el almuerzo del domingo. Qué gran elección. Personal fantástico, ambiente encantador en el pub (especialmente con todas las decoraciones de Navidad y árbol) y perro - amable para arrancar! Ellie, en particular, era genial. Ella lee a los huéspedes y el comedor perfectamente. Atento, pero no en tu cara (importante cuando no has visto amigos por un tiempo y olvidas que en realidad estás ahí para tomar algo de comida y bebida. ¡Gracias por soportarnos! Un lugar tan acogedor, ambiente relajado y la comida coincide con el resto de la experiencia perfectamente - ingredientes de primera calidad, perfectamente cocinados / presentados y enormes tamaños de porción. También me encanta que hagan un mini asado para nuestros cuatro amigos de piernas. Definitivamente vamos a volver muy pronto

I went for a walk with a friend in Camden Town and stop by this pub, I was with my son as well and asked to the bartender with black hair if children were allowed and she said yes, I then got helped from Silva to arrange a space for the three of us and she was really helpful to promptly arrange a highchair for my son, she than stayed a bit with us to give some informations about the food they were serving and suggested some options. We received a good service from a blond lady and a check back on how everything was going! I had a Patty Burger, my friend fish&chips, slightly too salted to my palate, but ok! a bottle of white wine and 2 glasses of tap water! Silva then brought more napkins because my son dropped water everywhere 😅 Atmosphere was nice, music was nice, fair prices, good food portions, people were very chill and smiling We have been treated really well🙏🏾 I highly recommend this place if you pass by Camden Town. 🤗👶🏾👍🏾

We had our christmas event here. Nice function room, surprisingly decent sound system there and appropriate music. Food was ok, serving was excellent, they knew who's ordered what which is not at all common at these things. Drinks was a bit hit and miss. What you ordered wasn't exactly what appeared in front of you. Also cocktail wise.. how can you list an espresso martini but be unable to do a classic martini? Still we had a great time!

Sunday afternoon. Faint smell of urine. Unfriendly woman/bar manager. Very slow service. Three drinks we ordered were out of stock. Stale peanuts.

My food (Nut Roast )was not good . Salty and no sign of Nuts. Roast Potatoes dry and not very hot. Very Disappointing, not their usual standard.

Nice place, very friendly staff. I would remove the dish I took from the menu and which I certainly do not recommend. Just two miserable onion rings seared and served on a salad with a few stray hazelnuts on the plate: really sad. Good fries, good chicken wings.

Staff were lovely but the food was terrible. Went in for a roast, the food was freezing, I nearly broke my tooth on the roasts, you get a charred piece of cabbage and tiny smear of parsnip puree. We were so disappointed

Really nice and cozy pub. We came on a Sunday with no reservation but luckily there was a table. Staff was super friendly and food was amazing - we ordered the trio of roasts and everything was super tasty and portions were perfect. Will undoubtedly come back.

A staff member at this pub (oxford street/mayfair location) was very rude to my friend who doesn't speak English as her first language. Look out for her, she's the staff member who looks like a 60year old Amy Winehouse. Staff have a problem treating customers with respect and have no patience, for people who may not be able to pronounce certain drinks and instead point to the menu instead of saying it, Your customers in this location are going to be tourists who may not know these things. My friend just wanted to experience drinking beer in an English pub and she was treated very rudely. I wish my friend had cancelled the order and told me about how rude this staff member was but this staff member made her feel so embarrassed that she paid anyway and didn't tell me about her experience until we had left the place. I definitely wouldn't return here or recommend the place.

Las anfitrionas eran muy muy servicial y amable. Buena selección de vinos y cervezas, incluso bebidas de alcohol bajo/cero. Todos teníamos asados que eran excelentes. Incluso la opción vegetariana era muy sabrosa aparentemente. Recomendaría un almuerzo de domingo allí. No es mucho dinero para lo que obtienes, especialmente para Londres.

Went here for a Sunday roast birthday celebration and couldn’t have been happier. Everything was excellent; the food, the service and the atmosphere. 10/10 recommend.

Great little gem came in for a few drinks with some peeps on Wednesday the staff was really lovely shout out to Rachel who recommended some good stuff as we do some some Undeceive individuals within the group so it was a nice change for someone to recommend something and it be a good recommendation so thank you to Rachel defo looking forward to visiting soon 🙂

Grayson was a fantastic, friendly and helpful barman. The food was excellent and the atmosphere perfect. Youngs pubs are always good and this was no exception. I would highly recommend the Spread Eagle.

Typical English pub that serves, among other things, an excellent Sunday Roast. The waitress was very kind and ready to help us and advise us based on our tastes. Abundant and very good dish. Excellent beer Account in line with the offer, not expensive in any case.

Had an amazing time with my friends here last weekend. Sarita makes the best cocktails in Camden and made my friend's birthday weekend even better by amazing customer service and the friendliest attitude as always. My favourite Camden local so far! (the cutest dogs are a plus)

Deserves to be cleaned or even renovated

In response to the reply from the ‘owner’: this was absolutely the correct pub I’m leaving a review for, The Spread Eagle on 141 Albert Street! This is a genuine review. We walked in and straight back out of this pub, we wanted a drink after having food out and the place was utterly disgusting… stunk like maggots and was super dirty. Can’t imagine touching a drink or food from such a dirty and smelly establishment! 🤢 Needs a complete overhaul!

Solid pub in a quieter part of Camden with ice cold Neck Oil on tap. You could do much worse.

Hired the upstairs room for a surprise birthday party, the staff were really helpful and accommodating with decorations and storing a cake beforehand and we had a fantastic night!

Two years ago, we had one of the best roast dinners I've ever had in this pub. Unfortunately, the quality of food has taken a nose dive since then. We recently went back for a Sunday roast and we're very excited based on our previous experience. It was absolutely awful, bordering on inedible. The meat was chewy and raw in the middle. I don't mind some pink in the meat but this was ridiculous. Veg were tasteless and badly cooked also. Gravy was thin and flavourless water. This place seriously needs to reconsider who they have cooking their food. I would never chance eating here again. I had bangers and mash here also the day before we had the roast and that tasted decent but unremarkable. The gravy with the food was again ridiculously bad. A lot of pubs do bad gravy but the prices here would make you think that they could do better than your standard chain pubs. The wait time for the food was very long also which I wouldn't have minded if the food was good.

We came here for late lunch and overall I’d rate it as a bit of a tired pub! The service was good but the pub itself seems a little outdated/ not as cozy as others and the food wasn’t all that great in my opinion.

We visited on Sunday Roast lunch. Service was efficient and quality and size of the food (we all ordered roast beef) are very good.

45 minutes for a pie don’t go there if you’re hungry!! The beer was very good

I booked the upstairs snug for my best friends birthday. as she was over from Australia I wanted to make it special! From the start the staff were amazing, so helpful and accommodating. Everyone’s food was wonderful and the atmosphere was great with great music playing. Highly recommended.

Great staff, who are funny & often wise beyond their years. Beer is well-kept. Ambience bang-on. It's kind of the perfect pub, the best in Camden.

Had a spot of bangers and mash here before exploring Camden, it was the perfect start to the day.

Roast dinner was wonderful. The ladies hosting were kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend for a quiet lunch just a few feet from camden lock

Went with my disabled brother and other family for dinner. Found it hard to find somewhere that we could get his electric scooter into. A lot of the restaurants have steps up. Can't thank Bobby and Cameron in the Spread eagle enough. They organised a ramp to get us in and we're very helpful and kind. Food also very good. Great atmosphere also. All had a lovely evening.

System was down but the server was really helpful. Has outdoor seating that accommodate up to 4.

Lovely staff and good selection of drinks. They offered us free unlimited lemonade as it was a hot day when we visited the pub. We haven’t tried the food, so unfortunately I can’t say anything about it, but the drinks were as expensive. Good atmosphere, good size for the garden especially as the pub is in London. We’ll be back here whenever we’re visiting London again.

It's a vegan pub with a lovely atmosphere. I was part of a large group and we all got served fairly quickly. The garden area is lovely, especially in warm weather. The staff was nice and smiley and there was a good vibe on the Friday karaoke night. The decor is very nice but you can tell it hasn't been recently refurbished, just as you would expect from your average pub. The music playing was also good and in line with the pub's atmosphere. The food was varied and interesting although choice was very limited when it came to mains (see website for more details). I had the Beyond beef burger and despite not being vegan, I thoroughly enjoyed it, though the toppings were a bit scarce and the "meat" a bit burnt in places. The fries were tasty and not greasy at all. Shame they ran out of the fried aubergine at 7pm as it looked really good. Overall, all dishes looked tasty, though I didn't get the chance to try anything else. (I posted this review on other websites too)

We booked the Eyrie and Snug upstairs for a reception for family and friends. The staff did everything to ensure everything was spot on. Could not have asked for more

Been a Regular for several years... Yes a favorite.. but have to say the vibe and atmosphere has changed, more relaxed and friendly not just me but all including Dogs...... The Food has changed also, I used to come in and was a bit hit and miss... however much has improved... I unusually take the Beef or Pork Belly on a Sunday, both are outstanding. Well done "Team Spread"!

Spread Eagle were kind enough to host a large group of us for 2 Euros fixtures this year. Great hospitality and a fitting venue to cheer on the team. Would reccomend and visit again!

Big thanks to Cam and the team, watched half of the Euro’s games there and the service and atmosphere was undeniably exceptional. The scotch eggs were a highlight of my visits to this glorious venue.

Great pub! Watched the quarter final and final of the Euros in the upstairs room. Great atmosphere with plenty of seating and space to stand all with good views of the screens. Best scotch egg I have ever eaten, ordered another! Very good selection of pints. Big thank you to Cam and the rest of the amazing staff!

Fantastic little pub! Been coming here for a while now and it’s quickly became a favourite for me and my friends. Always lovely service, Grayson goes above and beyond for customers and always does so with a smile :) always well managed, Hannah does a great job keeping the pub a warm, safe and homely environment!

Had a really lovely lunch. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious. Relaxed atmosphere. Easy to get a booking. Didn’t catch the name of our waitress but she was super nice and explained dishes etc. Will return!

The venue is great and the staff are lovely but unfortunately the food is bad. I ordered the sausages, mash and gravy and was absolutely shocked by the gravy. It was genuinely stock water, it was clear, thin and flavourless and it was like pouring water onto my meal (see pic). Mash wasn’t great either. Sausages were great. I asked a waitress if the kitchen could thicken it up or make some new gravy and the chef just put cornstarch or flour into it making it clumpy! It shocked us all that the chef couldn’t make a gravy and it’s actually embarrassing. I ended up using ketchup to just sauce up the meal. The steak sandwich was super dry, the steak was just so well done and dry. I’d probably come in for drinks again but never again for food unfortunately.

If visiting Camden Town, it is easy to get distracted by pubs close to the station. This pub is less than a 5 minute walk from the station, but is usually quieter and easier to find a table to sit at.

I loved this place when I was a young A&R. The food was mid and the service unkind. The highlightbis a young lady called rachell. I will be working near and will direct the young men as a present. Too many beta Camdonites. The poor girl.

This used to be a gem in the middle of Camden, the seated area towards the front of the pub with the big window overlooking Parkway was a great place to sit and have a peaceful pint, even when it was busy. People just being mellow, chatting, in a really comfortable atmosphere. The last couple of times I’ve been in it’s been half empty with really loud music blaring, very weird, and a total change of atmosphere. Why the change? Shame really, it totally kills what was lovely about it, just turns it into another ordinary Camden boozer.

It's always great to go for a Sunday Lunch so this was one to try, especially with it being so near to the Camden Road High Street. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't the best and the potatoes weren't well cooked. On the other hand however, the Guinness and other selections were amazing.

I wasn't in the pub furlong enough to make a judgement, but it was clean, had many spaces for drinking, booths, high rabies, dining, outside, there is a function room upstairs. Seems nice.
