The Lounge Barrowford in Pendle

Hoped to spend a chilled Saturday afternoon with friends drinking cocktails and sharing some delicious food . We would usually always go to Wills across the road but decided to give this place a go . Never again!!! The two members of staff on duty were rude and incompetent and lacked even the basic customer service skills . I would like to say that it was because they were so busy but there were only 4 other customers in the place so absolutely no excuse for such poor service . Really disappointing

Excellent food, it was good quality and cooked exactly as requested. Lovely efficient staff. Immaculately clean. Highly recommended.

Came for the breakfast deal, full english and hot drink for £9.50 and wow it was good! Coffee artisan standard, eggs light and fluffy, mushrooms seasoned excellently, bacon crispy not leathery. Staff fab with our ‘fun’ 18 month old baby! Sunday mornings have a new routine 😋

Just had a coffee here but saw some of the food others had. It is a lovely town centre cafe/bar/eatery with some outdoor space too. On the roadside but a very nice place to while away an hour with friends. Well worth a visit.

If I could give zero stars I would Horrific place. Avoid at all cost! Very sub standard. Only visited this place as Will’s across the road had no bookings. Food was poor, not as described on the menu. Staff .. just ok! All seemed brand new. Decor of the place was nice. Please please just go to wills or even kfc.

Second visit in two days, food was amazing, served artistically and in a good time frame. The staff are friendly and polite. Particularly appreciated the choice of menu, something to suit everyone. Sampled one of their yummy cocktails - Expresso Martini, felt like I was back in Convent Garden - very chic!

We visited today and was really looking forward to it. Covid checks were good. But the service took a while to order a drink, I had to go and remind them that we hadn't had our food order taken. At the time we were there not every table was full even saw 3 tables leave before ordering. After a lengthy time I saw what looked like our food on the pass. The chef rang the bell 3 times and staff behind the bar ignored it. 10 mins later the manager brought it over. We declined to eat it as the food was fried and we knew it would be cold or soggy and the back door was open too. They didn't charge us for the drink we had but wasn't a good 1st impression.

One of the best meals we’ve had locally in a long time. Chose the garlic mushrooms to start then the Cod loin off the specials board. Presentation and taste faultless 👍

We called in here after a walk along the canal. Initially we just wanted drinks but were tempted by the menu, so ordered a starter to share and a main for each of us. The service was great throughout; the food was delicious; the atmosphere was welcoming and we loved the unusual decor. We'll definitely be back again next time we're passing Barrowford. It was great to try somewhere new and support a local business.

I visited here several times lately and the food has been amazing every time. My new favourite place to eat....I cannot wait to visit again.

We (2 adults and one child) went for dinner here on a Monday evening. The first time under their new ownership. COVID-19 guidelines were in force with a temperature check at the door. Since restaurants reopened, I've found the atmosphere a little tense, but here it was really relaxed. The staff were following guidelines from what I could tell without drawing too much attention to them, which really helped create a positive experience. The waiting staff were relaxed, pleasant and smiling. The food was excellent! It's a fine dining experience but you get a little more food than the usual which is a pleasant change. All cooked perfectly and compliments to the chef; the starter (Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings) were the best I've ever had. Will go again - definitely.

Great staff, very welcoming and the food is the best I have experienced locally for a very long time. Good luck to the owners and keep on doing what you are dong very well indeed.

Been here a few times for breakfast and lunch with the new owner at the helm, very good food and very good service. The steak sandwich is knockout 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Tasty food, quick service, really enjoyed it. Lots of decent wine for sale too. Was just nipping past but they do Sunday Lunch (see photo) so had to try it. Will be back with more people later in the month. I think the restaurant changed hands recently but could be mistaken.

I was a bit worried before going as I read some of the reviews on here. But it was to late it was booked for 22 of us from Perry's. Worry ye not! We had a fantastic night. The manageress couldn't do enough for our group. the food was awesome, tasty hot and delicious, it all arrived in good time, nobody missed anything every item was delivered. Then we had a good old sing song with the cabaret downstairs before moving on. Great Night. I don't know where the photos went? must have been a good night!!!

Went here in sept, food and drinks. Looks nice but food very poor and drinks very expensive. Went across to wills after and was a difference of night and dayI see it has now changed names. Same owners. Failed to pay suppliers on a number of occasions! Poor effort

Dined here a couple of times and as i have very specific dietary requirements I am always hesitant with somewhere new but I can honestly say the attention to detail, the food preparation, food presentation and service were amazing. Thank you so much

Had food here this evening. Fish curry was £14, was curry sauce with a fish slice and no rice? Or anything else. Strange.Very quiet in comparison to Wills across the road. Went to pay and told we had to go and wait at the bar to do so because we couldn’t pay separately. Would avoid

We’ve been visiting since the Lounge first opened, the atmosphere is good, but what’s happened to the food and the prices. The cooking is not very good now and took ages today even when the place was almost empty. Prices have increased substantially and the menu is poor now... What’s going on there, you need to improve things rapidly. Really sorry to have to say this because we’ve always been loyal customers but that’s going to end if you don’t improve rapidly.

The Menu is limited and the price of glasses of wine is extortionate. Friendly staff but just not my scene at that cost - must be cos of Barrowford.

We went here for breakfast as we usually enjoy the food, however this time it was much different I’m not sure if the menu has changed. we waited ages to be served and the food took forever to come. When the food arrived it was dry and cold. Worst breakfast I have had period.Please speed up your staff and when asked for condiments when the food has been served don’t make your customers ask several times for this.Definitely don’t order the sausage butty as it was sausage the size of a pencil. Also the egg which is stated to be runny was way over cooked.We won’t be returning.

Used to love it here but the new menu is definitely not all that! The old menu was great and definitely didn't need replacing, so quite a shame really. Was looking forward to the halloumi fries all week. I ended up getting the cajun chicken flat bread and my boyfriend got the chicken burger and both tasted of pure grease. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lounge is a nice area for drinks but definitely won't be rushing back for food anytime soon.

Thought we would try the new menu. Disappointed to say the least. We had a variety of starters. The sharing board which was nice, duck salad was tasteless and the Asian crab was very very crispy (I’d say it was well overdone), it looked burnt. Main dishes we had the lounge burger - ok, steak sandwiches - bread was very soggy and the Cajun flatbread which was so,so. Don’t think we will be rushing back anytime soon.

Came for breakfast, waited around half hour for food to arrive which was fine on a lazy Sunday morning, we arrived at 10 past ten and was already getting busy, we had a vegetarian breakfast and a full English both freshly cooked food and excellent presentation, friendly staff, wasn't offered any condiments, had to ask, bit pricey but overall a pleasant experience, will return.

Barrowford is a lovely, well kept village and The Lounge has a lovely setting and decor.We visited on a quiet Monday lunch time and found the service really slow and the waitresses very unknowledgeable.I ordered a cappuccino which I had to remind them about. We looked at the menu and they didn't come over and take our order for over 10mins. Eventually we ordered a chicken flatbread and a burger which took over 45 mins to arrive. My chicken was over very cooked and my boyfriend's burger was greasy and cheap.As I was eating my meal, a man behind me started to smoke a cigarette, and the waitresses didn't stop him.Overall we were really disappointed as we'd looked forward to a nice lunch on our day off. Unfortunately we won't return.

The place looks nice from the outside, and once inside it has quite a trendy casual feel to it, however, unfortunately the rest wasn't up to scratch. I would probably leave 2.5 if I could but don't think it deserves a 3. First off, my partner ordered a coffee while the waitress checked for the beers I asked if they had. 10 mins went by until someone came back - then asked what drinks we wanted (didn't bring the coffee). She then got my drink wrong (although I had it anyway without saying anything as I wasn't that bothered at that point). We ordered after a bit of a wait, then it took a long time to come, probably 35-40 mins for some fried chicken on salad and a burger. My burger was just ok. It came on a teacake type bun, with quite a small portion of fries. It was a bit greasy, but all in all it was average. My partner said her chicken was well overcooked.There was a guy came and sat at the tables near the road who started smoking (wasn't that banned years ago!) that also put us off being there so we quickly paid up and left. It was disappointing to pass the waitress on the way out and say thanks to have her not say anything back really. Quite an expensively average to poor meal unfortunately but you vote with your feet and we won't be back.

Just eaten here for fathers day, I had the fish of the day and it was amazing 👌🏻 my partner had southern fried chicken wrap which she loved! Service was brilliant we look forward to going back.

We came for a midweek late lunch. There were only a couple of other tables occupied. Seems if you're not a regular they're not interested. The 2 waitresses were very slow and just did'nt seem to want to be there. Never known such slow service. The food was very average. Its a lovely place and last time we came the staff were lovely. Guess we we just unlucky.

We had a great night out at The Lounge this bank holiday weekend. We had been put off by a few recent reviews but we have never eaten there ourselves so thought we’d give it a try. We were seated upstairs which had a relaxed but friendly buzz, creating a great atmosphere. Tables are very close to each other but I suppose this is what creates the atmosphere? Both couples ordered the sharing mixed grill which included lamb koftas, chicken skewers, chicken wings, steak, ribs, sausages and fries to share (plus side salad). The meat was cooked beautifully with a variety of sauces (sweet chilli, BBQ). There was a really generous amount of food too. Drinks were great too with house champagne at £40 a bottle. Husbands drank Shipyard IPA which they were very pleased with. There was also a good choice of other beers and lagers. Service was excellent - friendly and helpful. All in all, we were very pleased that we chose to go to The Lounge on Saturday and we will definitely return again.

Visited for impromptu lunch. Place looked lovely and appealing . Attractive surroundings but service poor and food disappointing. Instead of ciabbata roll it was sandwich with two slices of bread. My colleague had what looked like a small piece of dry dirt on her plate near salad leaves. We pointed out to waitress and she said she would speak to chef: no response! Ordered dessert and coffee. Coffees came but dessert never arrived as waitress who had left forgot to order. Wouldn't return

Visited on a busy Saturday night there were 5 of us and we hadn’t booked a table but this wasn’t an issue, the young man with glasses who sorted us a table was very polite and explained there may be a wait on food as we had not booked! This wasn’t an issue as we wanted a few drinks anyway! We have visited the lounge around 12 months ago and found the staff to be a bit rude at times but the manager who looked after us and the young waitress were both very polite and couldn’t do enough for us! One of our party was gluten intolerant and the manager (Jack i think his name was) was extremely careful to make sure her allergy was dealt with properly, not something you see everywhere! The food was amazing especially the prawns which I had! My wife was recommended the special of the day from Jack and was not disappointed! The only downside to the evening was that we needed to leave to go and meet some other friends as we could have stayed all night! Rest assured we will be back and for longer this time!

I visited The Lounge yesterday with my cousin and elderly mother and auntie. The staff were very accommodating with our seating and positioning of my mother’s mobility walker. I enquired about vegan food and items on the menu were pointed out, also I was told that other choices could be adapted for me. We all had an excellent lunch, two had fish goujons which they said were delicious and cooked to perfection. I had curried cauliflower soup and chunky chips, the soup was one of the best I had ever tasted, a very smooth, creamy consistency yet vegan. The chips were excellent, just the right size, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. We were all very pleased with our visit and then a very kind member of staff came outside to help my mother down the steps, while I took her walker. I would definitely recommend The Lounge for food, staff, comfort and decor.

My daughter was home from uni for mothers day but could not be here on the day so decided to treat me to breakfast ordered 2 full breakfast first thing was my daughter's was cold so sent back to kitchen mine was missing an egg and bacon daughter's brought back still cold I got egg and bacon had to ask 3 timed for toast that came with not butter but margarine or something similar took about 30 mins to arrive did get one breakfast off the bill will not be returning again

Went here for my dad's last minute birthday meal. They had a fish special on which 4 of us ordered and it was delicious. The espresso martini is also very good. We ordered a selection of tapas to share for a starter and the prawn dish was VERY skimpy on the prawn front----we found 3 in one and 4 in the other. I was going to bring this to their attention but my father didn't wish me to so I left it. On the whole it was a nice experience-love the decor....very cool. Our waitress was lovely.

The lounge is a great place for a drink or two although Wills across the road is much better for wine. Ate here with two friends and the food and choices were poor. The mains are mostly burgers. Shared "tapas" to start. Very small portions which all felt frozen. Expensive for what you get as well. 3 burgers all very over seasoned and poor choice of bun which just collapsed. One very small jerk chicken consisting of 2 undercooked thighs and an over dressed salad. Poor food to say the least. Won't be back to eat here again.

Food was ok, dissapointed to see previous tapas deal has vanished. Expensive drinks, slow service. Lovely place - lack of atmosphere upstairs, better on ground floor.

We visited here one evening for a suprise birthday meal for me arranged by my wife. From start to finish the whole experience was first class. We had a mixed starter, the midweek burger offer and an individual pudding created by the young chef. We were seated near to the kitchen and could see how hard the kitchen staff were working. The food was excellent, the service was quick and very friendly despite a very busy kitchen. In fact we enjoyed it that much we went back the very next weekend.

We had an evening meal with friends at The Lounge, having recommended it after a really good breakfast experience. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t good and I regret asking friends to join us.To start with we were given a make shift table, just outside the toilets and had several unhappy customers asking us to move because there was no other way to get to them. The service was slow, the food could only be described as ok and the portion size was poor for the money. We asked if we could take our drinks downstairs to listen to the music but we were told we had to pay our bill first. We then had to wait ages for the bill and then no one came back to take payment. We ended up going downstairs to pay.To be fair there were a few good staff. We noticed the people at the next table were getting far better service.I would not go back to The Lounge. A very disappointing experience.

Visited with a bunch of girl friends on Saturday night for food and cocktails! We were not disappointed the food was nice and the staff were lovely! The cocktails were out of this world the guys who made them for us knocked them out at some serious speed so we were all abit doubtful as to how good they'd be but hands down the best pornstar martini I've ever had! we all said that we'd be back again when we are in the area! Special mention to Harry, Zack and Lucy for keeping us topped up all night they were amazing! Such a nice place and the Management team really love there jobs and it showed in the way they looked after us all night! Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Me and a group of friends dropped in to this little gem yesterday for some lunch and a few drinks! We’ve never been before and thought we’d give it a try as we had seen about the new menu launch and fancied a treat! From the moment we walked through the door the staff here were amazing particularly the managers Zack and Harry they couldn’t do enough for us! We ordered our food and to be honest it took a long time which is why it’s a 4 star review and not a five, but we didn’t mind so much as like I said the service from the staff was too notch! We will definitely be back but hopefully the foods a bit quicker next time! Zack and Harry made my friends day as she’s had a rough time this year so it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing you again soon ‘darlings’

Four of us visited to eat. Service was confusing to say the least. I ordered thick cut chips with jerk chicken and got skinny chips. There was only one Salmon portion available when three of us wanted fish and our table time was 6.30 pm. Three of us ordered jerk chicken and the portion sizes were tiny. Very little chicken. One of the ladies ordered the only salmon available and it arrived as the three of us that had ordered the jerk chicken were finishing. Starters were chili prawns. You get four small prawns for £6.95. Do the maths ! Our bill was £114-00. Very very poor.We won't be back.

How long does it take to make a sandwich ??Wouldn't have minded the wait if it was good but a toasted tuna sandwich (presumably because they had taken the bread out of the freezer)with a bit, and I mean a bit, of lettuce and stuff. Sack the chef my seven year old granddaughter could have made a better job.In fairness the waitress did offer to make another but do I really want another mediocre sandwich. The coffee was the only thing worth having

Pre booked a table for 6 people at 1.30 for lunch. Ordered quite quickly, fast service at the start.Asked for some bread whilst we waited for our mains and ordered drinks.Drinks came quickly, however an hour later we still hadn’t received our meals, or even the bread. Asked how long our food would be, reply was about “6-7minutes”.30 minutes later, still nothing, and again, not even the bread.1.5 hours after we ordered, 3 out of 6 meals arrived. We presumed ours would be along after the first 3 arrived, however 10 minutes later, still nothing (and still no bread). We asked our waiter where the other 3 meals were, who didn’t even realise we hadn’t received them and said he will sort it.A further 10 minutes later, the 3 people who had received their food has finished their meals, whilst the other 3 were still waiting. During this time, one member of the party had to ask for a condiment 3x before she recieved it.A long 2 hours later after half the party not receiving any food what so ever, I asked for the bill, which they sent, with all 6 meals being billed for. After complaining about the lack of service, lack of food and cheek of the bill, they said they will knock the 3 meals off which we didn’t even receive in the first place (rightly so). No other apologies were offered. Appealing from the outside in a nice location, but inside unfortunately they couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery (and that was with pre booking a table). If you fancy paying for food you never receive, give it a go

Was passing on the way to Woodland Spa and it looked a great modern place to eat from roadside. We were not disappointed. Beautiful décor, nice atmosphere and the nicest chicken wrap I have ever tasted. 25% off food was an added bonus and good value for money. Only downside was an overcharge for a shandy but that was corrected when pointed out.

Huuum, food good....service good, but...chair had stains, menu felt greasy, and when asked if possible to swap food items with those on the menu, told no problem. Final bill, only looked at later, had items charged as extra. Beautiful decor, but don’t let quality dip, especially when charging high end prices.

If you are taking your children for an early tea ( or tea full stop) make sure you are prepared for a long wait! The food took 45 minutes to arrive and we had to ask when the food was coming twice- it was sat in the kitchen but no one was available to bring it out ( I even asked if I could take it to my children)! We learnt to order our drinks every 20 minutes as it took 15 minutes for our drinks to be served. It obviously isn’t a place to eat with children so why they advertise it as child friendly I don’t know.

We've been a few times on Wednesday (burger special night) and love the atmosphere, the staff and the burgers.

We went for another superb meal this week (th birthday!) After a bad accident some years ago I am no longer able to drive and drink. The did -as they take my alcohol free wine. On this occasion they had a bottle of alcohol-free champagne on ice for me. What a lovely idea. Lots of people cannot have alcohol for medical reasons, also for designated drivers so it is a wonderful feeling to ber part of the whole party. The food was great, as was the atmosphere and all in all, gave me a fabulous birthday. We will be back and back again done in previous visits but on arrival the had an alcohgol free bottle of champagne and wine -free of charge -a lovely touch from everyone there to make me feel part of the party-but without alcohol xx

Came here for my birthday on a Wednesday as the lounge do a burger night on Wednesday. It's a great deal a burger, chips, coleslaw and a drink all for £12. It's an absolute steal as I ordered the chicken burger and the piece of chicken on it was absolutely huge! I did not expect it. Service was lovely from our waitress and waiting times were quick and efficient. I will definitely be visiting again sometime!

We came here for our little works christmas outing and thought it was absolutely lovely the food was amazing don't usually write reviews but this is the the best meal out I have had in a long time keep up the good work I will definitely be back

Went for Breakfast. Hour for food to arrive. Items missing from the breakfast. Apologetic but I wouldn’t bother again. Poached eggs were hard boiled. Absolutely no exaggeration

Had a really good lunch at the Lounge, service was excellent and the food delicious. I had a Moroccan lamb burger with Feta cheese and it was really tasty. My daughter's boyfriend had a Fish finger sandwich and he said that was excellent too, it certainly looked it. The price overall was not too expensive, £55 for three of us including drinks. I would certainly go again.

Bar staff more interested in talking to their friends over the bar and among themselves rather than serving. A decent range of wines, but the layout makes it difficult to get served if there are people occupying the stools at the bar. We were there on an early Saturday evening and it was very noisy - due to wooden floors and lack of sound deadening layout. Not a major issue, but if you want a quiet meal go somewhere else at a busy time.Although far from ideal, it was a definite improvement since our first and only previous visit.

Arrived early evening and given a choice of table. We opted for an intimate booth. Our drinks order was taken and delivered within minutes. The waitress was very friendly and gave some great suggestions for cocktails. We ordered food and it came promptly; hot, delicious and beautifully presented. Throughout the meal the waiting staff were attentive, asking if we were happy with the food and if we wanted anything else. They were attentive without being intrusive. After the meal we ordered dessert which was as good as our main course. I cannot praise the staff enough as we were made to feel totally welcome.

Visited a few time recently with my husband, my family & then with friends. I think he food quality and service has improved and love the atmosphere in there. I think an automatic door would be useful as people constantly leave the door open making it draft. The drink selection on offer is fab and I love the gins. Hope it keeps up these standards as would like it to keep open for the village

Visited on a sunny Saturday morning. Had 3 full English breakfasts and we all really enjoyed them! Friendly and efficient service and can't really fault anything. The bifold doors also look really lovely when the sun is out. Will definitely be back for breakfast in future!

The review lost 2 stars because smokers are allowed to smoke at the small tables in the window area. The smell of cigarette smoke wafting over us while we were eating was unpleasant. I would not want to smell cigarettes even if I wasn’t eating. We stopped here for a lovely lunch, we had Cajun chicken sandwich and it was extremely tasty. The service was prompt and attentive. The restaurant is very clean.Would return if their smoking policy changes.

My party and I decided to pop in with our 5month old baby for a drink on our way home. We’ve been before and always enjoyed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Baby wanted feeding so i moved to a more comfortable seat to feed and the manager approached me to say they are breastfeeding friendly and mums are welcome to have a complimentary soft drink and there are supplies of wipes etc in the baby changing area. It makes such a refreshing change to have positivity like this because many breastfeeding mums do not have the confidence to do so in public, so Thankyou

Dropped in for a beer with a family member not seen for a long time. Made sooooo welcome by Mary and Joe, stayed until closing. Loved it (and the cocktails) going back next week for sure, and every week/opportunity!

We were driving past from Manchester on the way to the Yorkshire Dales and saw the restaurant and decided to stop for lunch. The service was incredibly friendly and the food was lovely. We had the black pudding balls, the steak sandwich, and the pulled pork hotdog between us. All were fantastic and, if we lived in the area, we would certainly be back.

The lounge is lovely venue, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The staff are very professional and attentive, friendly and keen to please. Adam and Mary could not do enough to ensure the party were satisfied. The food was excellent and service very prompt. I would recommend the lounge highly to anyone of all ages. Superb.

Called for cocktail after work and sat outside. 2 cocktails for 10, didn't like mine but that's just my taste. The staff were so friendly with a we'll do anything to accommodate attitude. Lovely little place

I come and eat and drink here very often. the food is excellent and it is great value for money. The drinks and great and so are the staff. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is fantastic both day and night!

We live in Barrowford so it would be great to have a good local venue, today it was. We first reviewed this place when it first opened and it was awful wow! how it's changed. Today the food was excellent only a burger and fries but one of the best I've ever had and the deserts were excellent. The star of the show without doubt was Emilia that waitress, what a little gem. She was friendly, efficient, jovial and all with the biggest smile. It was quite expensive, 2 x burger and fries, 2 x deserts, 2 x drinks and 2 x coffees, £50 but everything was spot on. Well done! Even the background music was great, I'd love to know what it was?

Visited here on a relatively quiet Thursday night and from my friend’s recommendation it did not disappoint! The Lounge has a gorgeous decor that is stylish and modern and very aesthetically pleasing. I would say it wouldn’t be for everyone, but personally I thought it was fab. We arrived to our table with a small plaque that read my name - indicating that it was for me. I thought it was a lovely touch!The food, although we only had a few nibbles, was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Camembert cheese sharing platter, it was simply divine. Coupled with the crispy squid, skinny fries and fish goujons - it made for a quick and satisfying meal. The cocktails were also fresh and tasty, I could tell they had been made by a seasoned bar tender. The only slight downside would be the slightly detached service, it didn’t feel rushed but a bit distant. However, this in no way negatively affected our experience - I think it’s just something that could be improved upon. Overall, a really good experience and I highly recommend!

As a dirty mountain biker travelling and camping the length of the country I was hesitant to take myself into such a nice establishment, but I was quickly welcomed with a comforting smile and offered a table. Looking for a big breakfast to kick start my day I was not disappointed by the selection and by the food that I ordered. Everything was beautifully cooked, accompanied by some great coffee and tasty bread.I enjoyed a window seat, watching the world go by in a relaxing, but vibrant atmosphere. Service was attentive and I left feeling full and cheered by some pleasant conversation. I would certainly recommend the Lounge to anyone seeking to start their day with gusto and would advise arriving early at weekends as I suspect they're probably busy.

Great atmosphere, attentive staff. I always judge a place on their toilets and they were spotless! think their nibbles menu could be a little more extensive but al in all very good. Would go back

We visited recently on a quiet Thursday lunch and were greeted by a lovely, welcoming lady who showed us upstairs to a quieter area to dine. The food was all fantastic and correct (as some of the group wanted things cooked/prepped slightly differently to what was advertised) and it was no trouble for the kitchen team. What made our experience was our fantastic waitress who went above and beyond for us, whilst wearing a smile and making us feel like nothing was too much trouble. If you could bottle her personality and sell it - you would make millions!! Thank you very much for a fantastic lunch and for the top notch customer service. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Much more interesting menu that it initially appears, and has some genuinely different well thought through dishes. Very good cocktails and small but reasonable wine list. Disappointing that the only real ale offering wasn’t available, but with only 1 handpump it happens. Nice surroundings with a slightly upmarket feel (laid back sophisticated rather than trying to be overly trendy) and pleasant service, albeit initially slow to get firsts drinks to table. Upstairs is just as pleasant as downstairs and for lunch looks like it would be a bit quieter. Only minor complaint is that music is just a bit too loud and a bit too nightclub / dance / Friday evening for a Saturday lunchtime. Pricing & portions about right. Food itself is presented in normal bistro style and the dishes we had were nicely cooked and well balanced / seasoned.Overall, everything was nicely done and it is one we will return to.

Came for a baby shower recently and the food was fantastic, best afternoon tea I've had. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the service which was pretty non-existent. Regardless, as the food was so good I would probably give it another try, maybe at a quieter time.

Lovely place right on main road and can park outside! Staff very friendly and attentive (waiter Oliver) food really good and bit different from all the rest. Well worth a visit. Only 1 negative comment please purchase some glasses with handles on for the liquor coffee!

My wife &I called here on speck &what a surprise,great decor,very friendly,attentive staff&the food was exceptional even though we only had burgers.They have a very well stocked bar at reasonable prices.Iwould definitely recommend here.

To bring in the new year, me and a few of my girlfriends booked to come to the lounge to celebrate the end of a great year! I had been previously to the lounge as despite the bad things I had heard, I wanted to give it a try as it really does have an appealing look from the outside. How wrong was I! The first time I came was for breakfast and the food was not up to standard despite the price being extortionate for what you would usually expect to pay. However, I thought we would try for NYE as it would only be for cocktails, you can't go wrong, right? From the moment we walked through the door I realised we had made a big mistake.First, we were given half full glasses of cheap champagne that were included in the £20 entry. Then we sat upstairs to which the bar had no drinks we asked for. Very poor seen as you think they expected the night to be busy.My main problem was with the staff, to sum them up; arrogant, rude and obnoxious. This included the bar staff, managers and bouncers who may I say had very unprofessional language when speaking to paying customers.Since going to this restaurant/bar, I have spoken to many others who seem to have had the same experience. Which shows I am not one on my own. Very sad as the location has the potential for the lounge to be successful - but unfortunately I can't see this happening.

Visited here at the end of December and would not recommend to anyone.- Extremely overpriced! Value for money is shocking.- Very inattentive staff who have an attitude (not all of them) and lack basic customer service skills. Some will look down on you. Totally inadequate. - Waiting a LONG time to be served- Clientele of a snobbery persona. Attracts the ‘ten bob wannabe millionaires’ who think they’re gods gift but don’t have two shillings to rub together. If you fit into this category, this is the place for you.- However, the decor is up to a reasonable and fashionable standard! Pretty nice environment when not busy as it is pretty small.- If you admire visiting a place with admirable decor but be treated like a worthless citizen and pay £5+ for flat lager and overpriced baby portions, take a visit!

The bar staff are very inattentive , which spoils such a lovely venue . We had to wait ages to be served and sadly missing a good front of house .

Delightful Venue, the staff are delightful and the venue is stunning, the decor no expense spared, I was there one day in December Spotted Santa at the venue, Entertaining the Kids, the venue was cozy and warm, the food was excellent, everyone appeared to be having a great time, I will certainly visit again next time I'm in Barrowford,it is n a very busy road, but parking was easy, I'd imagine its great during the summer too, I'm quite looking forward to going back,

Rafe was fantastic for all drinks. Was training new girl Amelia and she did a fantastic job making us cocktails. Both of them a credit to the business!!!

Looked on website for menu. Advertising tapas. Arrived and no tapas on menu. Asked about it and menu has been changed. Only 4 mains on the menu. Asked for bottle of wine. None came. The menu had shockingly bad spelling. Advertised net potatoes (new), mushroom riotto. All very unprofessional. Had to remind about wine. Came with apology and promised 40% off which didn't happen. Will probably not go back

We started off by sharing 4 nibbles - calamari, chicken wings, humus, fish goujons - all were lovely. For our main we had house burgers which were a vast improvement from our last visit, sea bass high was beautiful and an open steak sandwich which was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go again.

Lovely welcome with nice modern querky feel. We were served our coffee and given plenty of time to catch up be fore we ordered. Our waitress kept an eye on us for when we were ready to order. Food nicely presented, beautifully cooked and tasty. We had a mixture of starters and tapas. Hit the spot - will return.

Visited with friends and we decided to try a cocktail. Very pricey but heard they were good. The bar man was quite rude with an attitude and there were no glasses ! Had to wait for some one to go and collect one and then wash it up. Seems odd and disorganized for a place that presents itself as top shelf

New tapas bar in the village, with full sunshine deck for good weather. great tapas at reasonable costs, great staff and good surroundings, Downsides were the steel sheet chairs - so hard- that we had to sit on (there are others) and problems with parking in this upmarket village high street. Still wort avisit if tapas is your bag!

We had a great night on Saturday this was our second visit and was lovely, staff are amazing Emily very on the ball at getting you a drink and friendly service all round. Francessca was so attentive and the service, food and drinks were top notch we were very happy and will be coming again she works to keep everyone happy what a great girl to have !!!!!!! well done keep up the good work . Service with a smile !!!!!!!! The porn star martinis excellent too

We visited the lounge for coffee one morning and were very impressed by the ambiance and service. On the strength of this we booked a table for what turned out to be a family celebration. We found the food expensive and did not deliver what was said on the menu. I had the fish platter which advertised a platter of fish with salad and lemon aioli. The salad was a few rocket leaves and the aioli never appeared despite asking for it. This is only one example as there were problems with every meal. The waitress laughed it off and asked if we could be friends and brought shots over. The waitresses looked bored and were chewing gum. It’s a shame as it’s a great place and a real addition to Barrowford but they need to sharpen up their act all round

Went here with friends and while it looks lovely it doesn't seem to be quite there. Staff friendly but very busy so a bit slow. Felt it was slightly over priced for what we got. Coffee good. Still undecided weather I'll go back.

Visited here for the first time for a celebration with friends and family. The Tapas was amazing! Each dish was so tasty and a good size portion. The porn star martinis are out of this world, the best I have tasted! Our visit was made even better by our waitress Francesca she is brilliant and a really asset to the restaurant. Can wait for our next visit!

My second visit, I really wanted it to be better than the first but it's just nowhere near as good as it should be. There were 4 customers in and 3 staff manning the bar. 2 were on the phone and one was staring at the coffee machine. I waited to order a coffee in that time another customer pushed in front and was served. When I was finally served the table I sat at looked clean but that's as good as it got. It was sticky.I moved. The next table was just the same. I told the staff and was looked at like I was speaking a foreign language.The two staff went back to tapping away at their phones asking eachother if it was break time yet. This was a Friday visit at 11amPathetic.

Tried this place three or four times after Turners moved to Colne. Very nice place,but lacking in certain areas. The service needs to sharpen up,the menu needs toning down,and their attention to detail needs work.It's a nice place and they have nearly got it right.

Went for my daughters birthday and had a great night lovely food great service, took my husband the next week the menu had changed but the tapas just as good and the waitress was very friendly and helpful

Disappointed, I thought the two tapas dishes I had were poor, patatas bravas and popcorn chicken and chorizo . The cocktail I had was o.k., the other members of our party tried several andenjoyed them but I thought the food was overrated and overpriced. Two of our party had the 'boards', fish and veggie, and I noticed they didn't finish theirs. The one plus was the waitress, that girl is worth her weight in gold, what a star, pleasant and efficient . You don't find many like her about these days, and no I'm not a relative of hers.

Deceptively small downstairs but more room upstairs, can't quite make my mind up about this place. Has lots of potential if they can get the service right. I haven't eaten here, but nice for a drink, the coffee is good & nice atmosphere. Have only been in the afternoons when it's 'relatively quiet' however...can take while to get served, music can be loud & smokers are constantly in & out of the bi folding doors at the front.

Visited twice, once as a couple and once with friends. On the first occasion I was definitely not impressed and would not have returned but on the second occasion it was chosen as a venue by friends. Parking is on street or there is some parking across the road behind a row of shops. It presents as shabby chic in style but on closer inspection it is poorly finished and rough around the edges. Our first visit was on a Sunday afternoon and the place was full but we were able to sit at a small table which had just been vacated. It needed clearing and I asked a young man (manager?) for it to be cleared. He immediately passed the request on to the waitress who was trying to take orders, serve food and clear away on her own. The young man went back to his phone which was clearly more interesting. I asked a second time but was ignored. We had our drinks and left without the table having been cleared. Our second visit was more successful. The young man and waitress were not on duty and the waitress on duty was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was much better and more relaxed. We shared a few plates which were of a reasonable quality but nothing special. I would return in the hope that these are merely teething problem in this new venue.

Visited twice now and pleasantly surprised both times . Had a tapas lunch midweek which was delicious and excellent value, loved the decor and ambience. Second visit was a busy saturday night, atmosphere was lively with dj music but not OTT. We hadnt booked but the staff were absolutely fabulous seating us at the bar and then finding us a table. Food was again tasty and service excellent

But it was not meant to be. Arrived 11am and ordered breakfast. Just before 12pm, we left after being advised that the food would be another 5-10 minutes. Meaning they had not even started preparing it. Downstairs was not busy but we were informed two groups upstairs had caused the delay. Staff were friendly but did not speak to us for nearly an hour after we had ordered, coffee was good though. Shame as we had driven quite far and had looked forward to this all week (we spotted the restaurant last weekend whilst walking our dog). It would have been a nice touch had they offered the coffee as complimentary but they did not. We will not be going back.

We had a fantastic lunch time visit for tapas and cocktails. Food was lovely and the cocktails amazing. Special thanks must go to Francesca who really made the visit even more special. What an asset she is to the restaurant.

Place as expected was heaving. Called in for drink and meal. Individual drinks price off the charts...certainly better to buy a bottle of wine...as example. Service was good but food was dreadful. Agreed that it was early days and they may have improved but on our visit we knew changes would have to be dramatic before we returned! Will be happy to revisit if ratings improve.
