Booked for lunch, several staff passed us before we finally got seated. Table for two rocked like a see-saw. Need 20-20 vision to read the small font unclear menu, Service was below average, asked for a side dish of spring onion which did not arrive with main course. Food was okay but thought there was a lack of good healthy choices. Location is very nice but overall was a disappointing experience

Absolutely horrendous lunch. No vegi alternative to the turkey/pork. I was told I should have called in advance to say I was vegi (never had to do this in 35 years of not eating meat anywhere except the aeroplane!). They could have made me a mushroom risotto (vegi alternative cop out meal). To be fair the chef offered to make me it there and then if I waited, but I don't like it. I wanted a carvery, that's what we booked. I expected a vegi pastry parcel or such like in place of the meat as that's what most places offer. So I had the veg. The gravy was made from meat. I asked him to make me up some vegi gravy, they don't have it!! For heaven's sake just keep a green bisto in the cupboard it's not that hard!. The Yorkshire pudding was black on the outside, uncooked on the inside and cold. Totally crap birthday lunch, hugely disappointed. I would not recommend.

Just cycled here from the village (Buckden) on a sunny day and being 30degs we fancied a cool beer and sandwich. Super views over the marina, lovely pint of San Miguel and great value food-generous portion and all freshly prepared. Friendly service and a great setting. A must stop-off if you’re passing and after a quick and simple pint n bite - a perfect place to recharge on a weekend bike ride. If you’re after something more formal or greater range of food then the local villages a better option, but neither have the setting and chilled atmosphere. Simple, enjoyable and good value, will certainly be back!

A group of eight of us stopped here for lunch during a good length walk on the Ouse valley way . I was concerned as I had read on trip adviser some poor reviews although some were fairly old . The staff were good the food was good we had a selection of jackets and sandwiches . It came very quickly and in good size portions . It was exactly what we needed and the table on the veranda overlooking the marina was a very pleasant location. The building looks a little tiered but that was of no great consequence for our visit. We all agreed it was a good venue for our lunch break , its not fine dinning but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it based on our experience .

Came here for the first time Monday - Exceptionally rude receptionist, ordered food and asked for mustard which she grunted that she doesn’t eat mustard so we get what we get ! Very unprofessional outfit! Avoid unless you like being treated badly! Shame I couldn’t give it a zero - it doesn’t even deserve a 1 star!

Hadn't been here before, but were passing when I took my mum out for a drive so popped in for a drink. Cheerful pleasant service. Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed the beautiful view. Would definitely return and maybe for lunch or afternoon tea. Prices look reasonable.

We organized a simple meal with two choices for 45 people and it was excellent. Was well cooked and prepared and above all was served hot! Wonderful! Side salad was very good also. This venue is under new management with a new chef so deserves to be given a chance. Not open all the time yet but does have specials nights so check them out. They are also open for breakfast and lunch. Only negatives are that it closes early and is not open very much for food in the evening yet. It has plenty of bottled beer but no keg beer due to the quick turnover needed. It does have lager on draught. This is part of a leisure complex so won't just have people dining.

Was driving back from Cambridge and my mum suggested stopping for a spot of lunch. She had been a few years ago, and said it was really nice... We had a nice a lunch, Mum had ham, egg and chips. I had a tuna sandwich and a side portion of chips. The sandwich came with crisps and a nice salad and the portion of chips was very generous, we had Tea, water and a Diet Coke and all came to £16... The place does need updating, and with a lick or paint and a bit of organisation, would be a hidden gem... I look forward to returning in the summer..

Over the years with management problems etc the standards have gone down and down. New management in place but unfortunately not the funds in place to give the place an industrial clean, get in a decent catering team and trained bar staff. Unfortunately local feedback stops people joining as members. A fantastic location, hope the new management can get the place back to where it was several years ago.

It’s absolutely depressing, warm beers warm wine, no choice no draught lager just warm bottles of beer. You can’t have a meal, because they only do sandwiches, if your lucky a jacket potatoe. It’s sweating hot in there, there’s absolutely NO atmosphere. BUT the view over the marina is stunning & the lodges dotted around the edge are so pretty. It’s such a shame this place could be a little gold mine.... The owner is obviously not bothered.... I don’t have any photos of the marina but if you look up BUCKDEN MARINA you will see how lovely it is... if it was a nice day & you only want a warm coffee & a packet of crisps !!! sitting outside with a book would be a lovely relaxing afternoon.....

Went here for a light lunch. The location is excellent, overlooking the marina. But the staff are off-hand, or in one case rude. There was a mix-up over what we had ordered--there were four of us and only three places came out of the kitchen after 35 minutes wait. Ham egg and chips is only £5 so I shouldn't have been surprised that the ham was wafer thin and the eggs had broken yolks.

Buckden Marina is a lovely place. Shocked and disappointed at the state of the restaurant . No fresh food only tired looking prepacked food available. Old and unkept interior / exterior not much better. Was made aware that there are some ongoing disputes and even some people banned! Very sad as great potential but continuing to go down hill. Staff were hard to find . Will not go there again.

Sitting just on the outskirts of the lovely village of Buckden, the Marina has so much potential but sadly it's just awful. Taking part in a local club quiz we endured the Marina yet again. As soon as I walked in the 'restaurant/club' I noticed wet tissues on the floor. Good start. Next stop, the bar. No draught beers or lagers. No bottled beer only lager and cider. Dinner, pre-arranged by the local club so price limited, was chilli and jacket potatoes with salad. While it was ok half way through serving the salad run out. Bagged salad was tipped straight into the serving bowl. While some bagged salad state 'no need to wash' it has been advised recently that all bagged salads should be washed before eating. Then they run out of wine. The quiz was pre booked so drink supplies should have been plentiful. Drink was not included in the price of the evening event. Then the ladies toilets. Wet toilet paper on the floor of the cubicles. Broken locks. Filthy mirror. Wet floor. Broken bin. The whole place is very tired, badly managed and a complete disaster. An advert on the entrance door promotes their 'tea for two' for £25. I think you would have to pay me £25 to go and try it. Abysmal.

Book a spa for some chill time and catch up with a friend . Omg. Shocking. The whole place was dirty and in need if some major refurbishment. No where to leave valuables so left them behind the bar! Ladies changing rooms out of order so had to use mens. Pool area and facilities tired, broken and in need of cleaning. Went to have a swim and shortly after a member of staff got in the pool and started cleaning it couldn't belive our eyes. Needless to say we got out the pool , got ready went to the bar and told them what happened and they didn't seem bothered at all. Oh once we got to the bar as there were staff on there knees scrubbing the bar n floors. All a bit unbelievable really.

For somewhere with such a lovely setting right on the marina, you'd have thought it would be a goldmine packed with hungry and thirsty visitors. But no. There's no sign of any food, it's mostly deserted and even getting a cup of tea took a while as there seemed to be a distinct shortage of staff. Can't quite understand what the problem is as it seems like a really great spot that would pull in the gym members, yoga studio visitors, lodge owners and boat owners. Oh well.

Food takes a long time to be served and is almost Weatherspoon-y. Nice place to go for a coffee and sit by the water. I wouldn't recommend you make a special visit to eat. It's a shame as it has so much potential to be a popular venue.

I've been a member for many years and have watched this place go down from being a thriving, welcoming place with good facilities to something a bit sad and that needs a bit of tlc! The potential is immense with a super aspect and the opportunity to cater not only for members but to visitors to the lodges and boat owners. Food fluctuates from full meals to snacks. You never know what day to day what will be available.

Shocking, no food, which was a shame as we were like sitting ducks, having arrived on our boat, had they played their cards right they could have made a lot of money out of us. If ever it is up for sale give us a shout, would live to buy it as the positioning is great!

A few months ago the Lounge had it about right, reasonably priced food and good service. However on my most recent visit last week I discovered food is no longer available other than a few snacks, I bought two Cornish pasties which were served luke warm and two coffees which came to almost ten pounds. I was told the chef has left so cooked meals are no longer available. How difficult would it be to offer things like jacket potatoes and sandwiches.

The whole venue is desparate for a remodel, it's very old and in poor repair, the ceiling is falling down as you walk in, the reception is dirty and cluttered. The gym and pool are terrible , they are dirty and damaged. The spa pool has brown matter in the bottom of it the whole pool area need's deep cleaning and redecorating. The changing rooms are just as bad. The sauna is dangerous, the wood is burnt and has wires exposed.

For fast food style, it took some time for our meals to arrive, and when they did I had to return my chips as they were not hot ! Food quality is not bad generally - surprising that just about everything comes with chips when the place is in a health club ! Wine prices looked very reasonable. Service a bit variable. An annoying large TV screen dominates the bar area, and there were big patches of black mould in places in the ladies toilets. Prices are good - special deals before 7pm.

This is a fairly new place, located within a marina, gym, and country club, but the restaurant and bar are open to anyone. Some good deals for lunch and for special events, according to some of the postings on the wall. Menu is pub, with good prices. My wife had a veggie burger that she quite enjoyed with good fries, and my jacket potao with chili was adequate. The chicken wings were good but they didn't have the spicy or piri-piri sauce available, possibly because the night before was disco and spicy food night (!). This place has the potential to really compete with area pubs with just a bit more care on the small things.

Coffee was ok, staff friendly but sadly the toilet was disgusting. One toilet out of order, the other which was for male and female should also have been out of order based on cleanliness. It smelled strongly of stale urine, the top of the cistern was thick with sticky dust, there was debris and water on the floor. I mentioned to staff on the way out who immediately went to inspect. Do they have a cleaner or do they rely on shop staff?

This is the best ever costa coffee. Its so warm and welcome inside the staff are great. Always a very very good vibe. Its a friendly enviroment with regulairs and workers from all over the town dinning in and taking away. I want to thank. Hazel milly and the team for always being so nice and lovely people and making such good quality drinks.
