Nice friendly pub. Pub food 😋 well worth the price.

Me and my friend enjoyed a couple of steaks this evening and were very impressed. Outstanding quality and value paired in a way that rare to find. We will definitely be back. Oh and the ales are great too!

The food looks amazing, although I've yet to try it but I already know it will be amazing, the premises are clean, tidy and spacious with a really nice outdoor seating area and garden, the patrons and staff are friendly and welcoming and there is an abundance of different drinks to choose from with choices for everyone, I rate this establishment very highly.

The Lounge was the closest pub to our hotel, so going by the Trip Advisor reviews we thought we’d give it a go. Very friendly staff and the food we just couldn’t fault, good size portions at good prices, recommended 👍

One of my favourite Plymouth pubs. Great atmosphere, fabulous food and a fantastic bar team. And yes I know, too much ketchup but that's how I roll !!! Also dog friendly 👍

As a monthly visitor for the pub quiz I cannot fault the place. Fabulous proper local pub with a good atmosphere. The quiz is a great evening. The chips are possibly the finest thing I've ever put in my mouth.

Great local bar in the heart of a friendly community. Bar staff couldn't do enough to help make you and guests feel welcome and comfortable. Prices are very competitive too.. This bar I'm guessing it's more for locals and regulars than tourists, but if you're in the vicinity, give it a try, ..

Brilliant old fashioned pub. Real Ale and Russell Sinclair on a Sunday afternoon. What a great time..

Great experience for myself, my mum and daughter. Bright and airy, good views of the harbour. Food came in good time. Great service, lovely staff. Food was delicious. We were all very pleased! Would recommend and come again.

Hidden gem of a local pub. Beautiful interior, friendly landlady, reasonably priced drinks, decent range of beers, good quality food, chilled place that’s ideal to go for a pint and some dinner after a walk around the park. Dogs are welcome as well! My favourite pub in Plymouth!

First visit after attending remembrance service at Devon port Park. Ordered barcardi and coke and lemonade and lime ,pint. Think was not much changed out of a tenner..but I haven't bought drinks in a pub for a very long time so a bit of a shock. Free bacon rolls and hot dogs much appreciated . Decoration a little tired but pleasant friendly atmosphere. Staff friendly .

Early evening meal...3 humans & 2 dogs. Large portions, tasty & excellent value. Very dog welcoming. Landlady was great. So good to enjoy in a real pub....long may it remain.

Disinterested staff at best. The meet and greet lady who stood outside spent all of her time ignoring customers and instead doing karate kicks and eating from a cup while constantly singing to herself. Tables were not cleared. The six staff inside behind the bar were disinterested at best and only one was serving while the rest talked amongst themselves, even though customers were waiting. Amazed at poor structure, interest in customers and poor overall service.

Pubs like this are becoming rarer by the day and need all the support they can get . New management have maintained all that was great about the place plus added really good food at really good prices. Occasional live music too. Excellent staff and a real piece of Plymouth' s old pub culture alive and well.

Brilliant pub tucked away in Stoke village in Plymouth - if you like a pub where it's normal to have a beer with nice people and have a conversation without shouting to be heard then this is the place to be. Very limited menu but it is a pub after all. The food is very well cooked and good value. The staff are lovely too.

We had a few friends visit Monday or Wednesday buy one get one free , so we tried ourselves steaks was delicious large portions definitely 5 stars from me fantastic service 😀

Stumbled on this one. Not many freehouses left, this is a good one for a quite beer. No music, dogs welcome. Very friendly locals proud of the pub.

BOGOF STEAK FOR £9.95 best £5 I have ever spent. Steak was a good size and cooked well, came with a bowl of chips to share. Salad or peas, onion rings, fried tomato & mushrooms. Amazing meal for the price.

Rude and insulting staff. Awful service. Overheard a member of staff say 'the strippers have arrived' to a group of ladies who were quietly having drinks outside. They looked as if they were in their 60s. I will not be visiting there again

One of the nicests pubs during my August '19 visit in the UK. Friendly and affordable.

A decent pub with a good atmosphere, always good real ales, at a decent price, bar staff very friendly as well. I would definitely recommend The Lounge, as it is a pub for anyone who wants to have a conversation, and not have loud music in the background.

Still a local (thank god) and selling Bass in the wood.

Beer competively priced, great conversation pub as there is no background music. Excellent Draught Bass and two guest beers are always available. (or if it's quiet read one of their newspapers). Good basic pub lunches during the week. There is a TV but it's only on for rugby.

Pub has hardly changed in 30 years other than more choice of real ales.

Such a lovely little place, tucked away. You’re made to feel welcome immediately. Proper old school pub. Went in to watch the rugby and it was just the ticket :)

Like the fact that this pub still has red velvet curtains and dark wood panelling - keep it that way. Place has a warm and friendly vibe .

Great little local as I live just around the corner. No rowdy clientele in this pub. Goo selection of craft beers. Big screen to watch the sport as well.

My visit was for a Wake, very warm and welcoming, the staff where friendly, there was a hot and cold buffet which was very good, ideal venue for the occasion

Delicious ham, egg & chips. Even Grace, the basset hound, was spoilt with ham & treats. Welcoming atmosphere.

Five of us went in here for a Christmas drink and it was like the martians had landed, everyone turned and stared at us, weird and a bit unsettling. We sat on a long table near the window and ordered some drinks, not long after sitting down a chap came up to us and said we would have to move in awhile as they had a band coming who needed to set up. We decided to drink up and go. Not a nice atmosphere and doubt we will go back there

Great wee typical English pub. Brilliant, ever helpful staff, and nice clientele too ! Nothing too much trouble, reasonably priced too. Would highly recommend to anyone in the general area.

Went midweek at noon and were the only people in the pub for the first Hour & Half but friendly welcome from the bar manager. Food available at Lunchtime other than Mondays with a great at reasonable cost. Three choices of cask available with Bass always on tap with two guest ales on tap. Pub Interior décor dated but has a natural old world romantic charm. The pub toilets have been recently updated and are first class.

Good ale, good company, No pool table, no juke box, no 'yoof', no aggro. Did I mention fine ales??

The best gammon egg and chips in all Plymouth and the pint of bass is kept wonderfully.

I really don't know where to start in this review, this pub was unlike any I have been to before - and not in a good way! The atmosphere was not very welcoming or social, and the lady behind the bar was very stoney faced. It was incredibly unclear about whether food was being served or not, which was very confusing to us as new visitors to this pub expecting to be able to get food here. I think it is more of a 'locals only' pub and I would suggest if you are a new visitor to perhaps choose to go somewhere else.

We used to visit this pub when we were courting many years ago, and it has changed very little if at all since. It is unique, in as much as from the outside you could walk past and not notice that it is a pub. We called in on an evening, there were about a dozen male customers, all well behaved, a bar lady and what appeared to be her friend. I asked for a menu, but apparently food is only served during the day, however, they allowed me to see the menu which was fairly limited, most things served with chips and peas. In its day it was a lovely pub that served beautiful sandwiches which have gone down in our memory, however it is now looking a bit tired and dated, something that could easily be put right, but carefully so as not to destroy the character that remains, a real fire instead of the glass coals lit by electricity would be a good start.

Been in once since Christmas. It was lunchtime and quiet but very disappointed to find the setting less than hospitable. It was if they had rather I hadn't been there and they wanted to use the time for restocking or doing something else. Plate of food just thrown together and perfunctorily served. Made me feel sorry to have troubled them. Great pity because this is an older pub with a lot of tradition and character where I and I know lots of people have had very good times over decades.

Rude staff. Terrible customer service. Staff argue with everything, slammed a meal down on the table and complained at us for what we ordered and moaned that adding extra to a meal is more work. Would not recommend at all. Absolutely terrible experience considering been going here for years...will never be visiting again.

I had not visited the Lounge for several years, and I was pleased to see that it had retained much of its casual charm. A quiet locals pub in the popular suburb of Stoke, very near the charming Devonport Park. A good choice of Ales and popular pub grub at sensible prices.

My husband and I visited today. Although it was quiet we met a delightful young man who I have to say made the visit that much more special,we felt welcomed as if we were visiting a friend at home, the food was very fresh and tasty too(the bacon and Brie baguette) the wine was not of a poor standard that you would expect for a house wine and the outside area to dine alfresco was also such a find. We will definitely be back again and again,an oasis in the city,I do hope the barman although coving holiday we be a percent feature. A must visit.

Proper local pub, good pub grub at lunch times, pies and chips and stuff, good selection of beers, two guest ales (shallow end and deep end) and Bass all of the time, ciders and larger if you like that sort of thing.No music, No pool table, Red ceiling. I love beer!

A cosy pub offering reasonably priced drinks & pub food. This pub is very old fashioned, it's a bit like walking back in time! Could do with playing some music to liven it up a bit but I've been there 3 times & have never had a bad meal & the staff are friendly.
