Seems to have problem with steak pie in restaurant as on last three occasions have had none left at lunchtime (13:00hrs)

It's Sainsbury's, always dearer than everyone else

Very large sainsbury's, very clean. Good was good in cafe.

My local shop. Plenty of parking spaces and great produce.

Love to shop at Sainsbury's always feel comfortable. Fruit and veg display always well stocked. Bakery head straight for the cakes.

Massive stock good produce (except the vacuum packed mince but that's a personal gripe) also has an argos inside

Very grotty building in need of refurbishment. Very uneven floors made it very difficult steering very old trolley around. Shall not rush back

I shop at all of the major supermarkets, from Aldi to Waitrose. Of the bunch, this store is the 'best' shopping experience. Shopping Isles that are wider than most, combined with staff whose priority isn't to focus on emptying their cages. Price and food quality, tick. Even though built in 1986, Sainsbury's Marsh Mills is still a timeless classic icon.

It's like a Sainsbury's, but where all the customer service went to die. God forbid you get a trolley check; welcome to 10 mins waiting while the staff chat instead. Wonderful. Rest of it is fine.

The ‘so called’ SMART SHOP continues to deteriorate in availability and waiting times, but worst of all the toilets were ‘unbelievably smelly’ today!

Plenty of disabled parking spaces and easy accessible .but then trying to find healthy food .WITHOUT SUGAR. Nearly impossible. Eventually I found some ready to eat salmon which didn't have sugar .then I looked to eat chicken. Not a problem until you want just chicken without ANY SUGAR added well wish you luck

Shopping in this store for ever Brilliant

We had a great well cooked fryup. The Staff were brilliant, very friendly. The downside was the Gents toilets, clean but the stench like dead fish was overwhelming. It's a shame as everything else about the store is brilliant.

Despite my previous comments about great electric charging, (below), I'm not going to do any more big shops at Sainsbury's as the till queues are too long and the self checkout system is a ´pain in the rear' when you have a trolley load. I'll only go when I have a few items to get and the self checkout is less of a hassle. Previous review: Great to see Sainsbury's investing in 8 high speed 150kw chargers for ev's with simple contactless payment without any app required. I've switched to shopping here from Tesco because I can now charge up and shop at the same time. Just a shame that there isn't a beneficial price for Nectar card holders as that would seal the loyalty.

The staff are very helpful which is great when you are not very familiar with the store layout or how the systems work.

Increased by one star from last review. The reason is smart shop... Takes away the necessity, in most cases, of having to ask any staff any questions. Petrol station staff are still far too preoccupied with their own personal conversations to respectfully serve anyone who dares not to pay at the pump. Food prices are a bit better now and quality has improved somewhat. Best ring doughnuts. FACT. 2024 No change... Still happy.

Probably Sainsbury's I've ever been to. You see it as you approach Plymouth and it looks like a ferry port with its huge sail-like decorative top. On the inside it is much like every other big supermarket, it has everything you might need, is well laid out and has a bakery in the back. My one complaint is that the toilets often aren't very clean and cubicles in them are often shut down

Only popped in quickly for milk but a few empty shelves, staff were good and helpful

Self service checkouts now totally outnumbering tills where human interaction is required and is a much better experience. Very disappointing.

Excellent big shop. Great Cafe. The only thing that lets it down is the stench in the men's toilets. Went in there 6.00 this evening otherwise I would have scored it 5 stars! My wife wondered what the smell was in the foyer to the toilets.

Heavy chairs which are not easily movable. Wrong chairs for a cafe. They create an awful discordant sound when dragged along floor. Hardly relaxing!!!!

Tried out the hand held barcode reader today. It was a breeze, even for an over 60's who's had a Stroke and brain tumor!! Will be using it again when I am aloud to do the shopping. Only went for petrol because I had a double points voucher and the petrol is cheapest in my area of Plymouth. However, my wife did pop into the bank to purchase some Euros for the family. She had no problems, and the transaction was easy!!

Great quality fresh produce and variety of food in store. Staff are very polite and helpful too. Produce always fresh and well presented. Sainsburys taste the difference range is great value for money.

Too expensive compared to lidle and aldi

Big place to get almost all the neccessary things for the house and even few outdoors.

Good place to shop, got clothes area as well, close to premier inn so not far to go for shopping if staying at the premier inn, walk is about 5 min as you have to cross to Sainsbury's via a foot bridge or you can drive over to it.

It is like all good Sainsbury's, just a lot bigger. They had everything we needed whilst self catering near by.

Friendly staff as always and open till 10pm at your convenience.

We collected a click & collect order here while on holiday. The collection spot is under a gazebo, which was great as it was a hot sunny day. Staff were friendly. Despite being a busy time of day on a Saturday, there was lots of parking.

I like this store but time and time again they only have one checkout open with a huge que of customers waiting. Have informed the manager multiple times but never changes. Not every one wants to do self checkout. Please bring more human staff to these lines as you are letting the store down

Shirin served me on tills and would like to give her some recognition. She had brilliant customer service! I had lost my nectar card and was trying to quickly download the app in order to get my nectar prices. I almost gave up when Shirin offered me a new card which gave me around £8 discount on my shop. Was really nice of her to take time to sort this out for me, especially as they were so busy already that day. Thank you!

People complain about the young generation but I have to put a SHOUT OUT to a young lady called Amalee (apologies if the spellings wrong) I was shopping for clothes and couldnt find much in my size or anything I liked, this young lady went off trying to find my size and items I described, nothing was to much trouble, another shopper was having the same issue as me, Amalee was amazing, she also helped this lady find items of size and design. Thankyou and what an absolute asset this young lady is to Sainsbury's nothing was to much trouble, everything done with a smile and a positive can do attitude. Myself and the other lady will return thanks to you Amalee. What a change from if its not here we don't have it!

For plants very poor. Labelling did not tell you about the plant and how to look after it was touched on. One plant sold as outdoor plant, when it was an indoor plant. Pricey too.

It's good as far as supermarkets go. What more can you say it's Sainsbury's.

Shop is fine, however having a barricade at the exit of the carpark that's closed until 9AM, which in turn forces you to drive in the complete opposite direction is an absolute waste of everyone's time.

Found a pair of jeans that actually fit!!! Great place for small or big shops, from rola cola to cherry pepsi max, from dairy lea to truffle cheddar. And all at fantastic prices

Used the cafe..first time in a while.. staff very nice.. toasted tea cake is a must..

Large supermarket with food and non-food. Modern mobile scanning handholds for self-scanning while shopping and also many self-scanning cash registers. All rules neatly filled, tidy and clean. There is an extraordinary amount of ready-made food, ready-made cakes and sweets. Unfortunately, hardly any organic products are offered. All sausage and meat products are only available packaged in plastic. Most fruit and vegetables are also packaged in plastic. The only loose and unpackaged lettuce was completely wilted. In addition to a large selection of packaged bread and toasted bread, there is also a range of same-day baked bread, baguettes and something similar to wholemeal bread, which is sold open-faced. We've already been to Aldi and Lidl in the region and think that Sainsbury's still offers the best selection of products. However, I deducted two stars because the selection of organic products and fresh produce is far too small.

Only visited the opticians but would NOT shop in Sainsbury's as they are very expensive. Still the most expensive store in the uk.

I am never disappointed with Sainsburys. Good walk down there then a cup of tea in the cafe then a bit of shopping then a lift home from my husband on his way back from work. Good quality produce as always. They do some really nice breads.

Ideal stop off for supplies and fuel before the ferry. Helpful staff.

I just wanted to give this staff member some recognition I think his name was Alvaro! The fridge was broken with all the pork in it and he was clearly busy restocking other things but when I asked him where the meat was he went out of his way to go into back of stock and brought back 3 options for me to choose from. It may seem small but he honestly made my day! What fabulous customer service

Sainsbury's where advertising a plastic lemon squeezer, the only branch of Sainsbury's that had it was at Barnstaple, tried Newton abbot, Marsh Mills, so nobody had this item locally, & they probably didn't have it at Barnstaple either, so ordered online, delivery was the next day, so maybe just order online, at least I'm sure of getting it.

Nice clean place to shop. Most shelves were well stocked. There is plenty of parking outside. EV points for the few that need it. There are plenty of child parking spaces. Unfortunately, a few selfish individuals use it because they are entitled or just plain don't give a F..k. This is not monitored, so what's the point they think.....

Despite Easter weekend making it very busy, we got through very quickly, and there were no problems with parking. The staff are nice and helpful too.

Great place for groceries, household items and electronics

Sainsbury's seem to have made a decision to close all main checkouts in preference for self checkout only. Rubbish if you need to get a trolley through. Staff are helpful in dealing with the inevitable problems but clearly management needs to understand customers needs. Should add shopping was late on a Saturday. However split shopping between Lidl and Sainsbury's. Lidl manages to have till ls open and staffed as needed. If they can it must only be management decisions at Sainsbury's.

The sushi bar lady Pensiri made up a pot of such on my daughters birthday even though it was all sold out My daughter just lives the suchi best ever.. even better than the suchi in town . What a lovely lady thank you . Made my daughter so happy 🩷🤩

Members of staff are always ever so helpful, even during busy Christmas shopping times ( last Christmas this store was actually way busier than Plymouth Armada Way one, even some stock sold out faster than the city centre one) nice to have argos there and a cafe / restaurant that serves hot food !!

Fantastic range of products and clothing and great bargains but still managed to spend a lot of money 💰.

Need a break for lunch, don't bother. Service was poor, couldn't care less attitude. I had a fish finger sandwich and chips. Chips were tasteless and warm, no spread on the dry bread for the sandwich and most off putting of all was the dirty plate the sandwich arrived on. Certainly won't bother again!

One Sainsbury is much like any other. What else is there to say?

Always a good shopping experience in Sainsburys! New faces again but that has always been the case. Sainsburys expect the best out of employees but are less loyal to the staff. Thus regular staff changes.

I lost the will to live after an interminable wait for a tea. If service at a snails pace is your thing,this cafe is for you..

A very good service with great good's and wonderful staff. I'm been shopping with you for year's and will never change. I worked here and they have never let me down. Well Done.

You better not want meat free, plus various other sections of the shop were empty. Quick shop, but apparently randomly, I needed a rescan, which I passed, but when I got home, my chilled items were warm because I had to wait for a rescan.

What a great store and really well stocked

I go to Sainsbury's almost every day. It's a bit of a strange habit really. It's always bright, clean and almost always well stocked. It's rare that they don't have what I'm looking for. It is more on the pricey side however, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars.
