Update.12.11.2024 I try other stores but find Sainsburys better than the others. I don't like the predominant self checkouts but if you go early morning it's not so busy. Update. Long queues at checkouts this morning. Gave up. Very few staffed checkouts. Self operated checkouts seldom work properly.

I ordered the Big Breakfast and a latte my wife had a danish with a double espresso, the food arrived a short time later. It's a supermarket, it sells produce. There is quite a lot of non-food items at this branch making it a little more like a department store. The fresh fruit selection was rather disappointing when I visited and the oranges were anything but juicy despite this being the selling point. Despite my previous comments about great electric charging, (below), I'm not going to do any more big shops at Sainsbury's as the till queues are too long and the self checkout system is a ´pain in the rear' when you have a trolley load. I'll only go when I have a few items to get and the self checkout is less of a hassle. Previous review: Great to see Sainsbury's investing in 8 high speed 150kw chargers for ev's with simple contactless payment without any app required. I've switched to shopping here from Tesco because I can now charge up and shop at the same time. Just a shame that there isn't a beneficial price for Nectar card holders as that would seal the loyalty.

Increased by one star from last review. The reason is smart shop... Takes away the necessity, in most cases, of having to ask any staff any questions. Petrol station staff are still far too preoccupied with their own personal conversations to respectfully serve anyone who dares not to pay at the pump. Food prices are a bit better now and quality has improved somewhat. Best ring doughnuts. FACT. 2024 No change... Still happy.

Large supermarket with food and non-food. Modern mobile scanning handholds for self-scanning while shopping and also many self-scanning cash registers. All rules neatly filled, tidy and clean. There is an extraordinary amount of ready-made food, ready-made cakes and sweets. Unfortunately, hardly any organic products are offered. All sausage and meat products are only available packaged in plastic. Most fruit and vegetables are also packaged in plastic. The only loose and unpackaged lettuce was completely wilted. In addition to a large selection of packaged bread and toasted bread, there is also a range of same-day baked bread, baguettes and something similar to wholemeal bread, which is sold open-faced. We've already been to Aldi and Lidl in the region and think that Sainsbury's still offers the best selection of products. However, I deducted two stars because the selection of organic products and fresh produce is far too small.

Goodbodies in Plymouth offers a mixed bag when it comes to their breakfast offerings. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the milkshake - a delicious treat that, while pricey at £7, was worth every sip. However, the main course left something to be desired. At £12 for a standard breakfast, one would expect a hearty meal with quality ingredients. Unfortunately, the meat and mushrooms fell short of expectations, reminiscent of more basic fare you might find in less gourmet settings. The addition I requested for my meal was initially overlooked, which was a bit disappointing. When it did arrive, I had already consumed most of my breakfast. On a positive note, the portion size was generous, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. The staff were friendly, albeit a bit forgetful with my order modification. While Goodbodies has potential, it seems they may need to reassess their pricing strategy or upgrade their ingredient quality to truly justify the cost. For now, it might be worth a visit if you're in the mood for an excellent milkshake, but temper your expectations for the breakfast

We ordered haddock and chips early evening. Very busy that night. The food arrived in a large stout paper carrier which was OK but the fish and chips were in a shallow brown cardboard box which had been wrapped tightly in kitchen foil. As soon as we opened the box it was obvious that both the fish batter and all the chips were soggy and damp. The box was 2/3 covered in oily maybe vinegary stains. This had the inevitable effect of reducing most of the attractions of fish and chips. The paper bag and the cardboard box are both sensible ways of keeping the chips and the batter crispy. The foil destroyed it all, even if there were good intentions of keeping it all warm. Whenever I use a chip shop, I turn away plastic carriers and decline advance salt and vinegar. Perillas or their delivery teams need to scrap the foil. About half the haddock survived in a palatable condition.

Absolutely lovely experience, came in with my friend and had wonderful service from Amelia, Holly and Rin. Hot chocolates and food (tapas Tuesday) was wonderful and great value for money. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was disturbed by some extremely rude and aggressive customers that were whistling at the staff from across the restaurant and storming over to the bar creating a commotion. They even went as far as approaching a young member of staff and grabbing them by the wrists. Despite being shaken up, the staff handled this with the highest professionalism and once the customers had left - ensured the other customers (including us) were okay after the distribution and their experience wasn't negatively affected.
