Sat at table 4, at far end of ground level overlooking the quays basin (table for 2). Just enjoying a meal out. Have been there occasionally in the past but didn't realise there was seating, as well, on the 1st floor, overlooks the water too. 😀

Place was rammed but food and drinks served quick at competitive prices and tasted gooooood!

Lovely Wetherspoons, situated right by the waters edge. Well decorated inside and nice area out the back. Good service and great food! No complaints.

No deserts at all but very nice response when I mentioned it being quite poor.

Just popped in for a drink. Nice clean pub. Nicely furnished. Great value. Good range of beers too.

So why have I given this 5 stars overall but only 3 and 4 stars for the underlying categories. Well, when you are sitting in the sun overlooking the docks basin, watching Llanthony bridge opening ever so often and drinking a pint of £4.50 leffe, why wouldn't you.

The food was terrible made with used oil. I ordered a full breakfast and it came without mushrooms beyond the limits experience

Ordered via the app. Food arrived before the drinks. Had to nudge the food server. Lots of dirty tables, not my best experience of a weatherspoons. Revisited today 7/9/24. Ordered food and drink 13.44pm food arrived in less than 5 mins, 3 drinks bottle water coke and juice took 20 mins. Appalling. No apology.

The better Withies of the two options in Gloucester. Close to the outlet village. Often gets very busy. Worth a visit.

2 years ago food was excellent, visited again last week, very busy and I wonder how they managed to serve cold chips and bullet proof eggs,plate was warmer than the food,

Usual good value lunch- Curry day so we had Chicken Tikka Masala and drinks- plenty of children as it was school holidays but no problem. Wetherspoons prices are such good value.

Standard Spoons bargain food and a pint.

Nice atmosphere and location. One of the better JDW's. It's hard to fault this one. We go there regularly for lunch and drinks. It's a well run pub throughout.

Standard spoons but more spacious

Food was ok, visited here for breakfast with family whilst on holiday. I am on a carnivore diet and was not offered alternatives for taking out toast, hash browns, beans and tomato's. I had to pay extra for additional meat. They have free refills on hot drinks, however 2/3 machines were out of milk which caused abit of a cue. Otherwise food was okay.

Sunday afternoon so not many people around but food order on 2 meals came out wrong. Decent when it came out correct though

Been here many times. Decent experience overall, it does what Wetherspoons does and well. Latest visit app order drinks and food delivery very fast.

Ordered fish and chips with curry sauce. The portion was tiny (the fish and the chips), but they insisted it was the ‘large’ one (which I’ve had elsewhere and was twice the size). The curry sauce was in a half filled tiny pot, instead of a big gravy jug like elsewhere. I ended up getting another meal afterwards. Even the pint of coke was three quarters filled, apparently because they “left a gap for the ice”, which I’m almost certain is not Wetherspoons policy. I changed my mind while ordering and the woman sighed and gave me a dirty look. Will never come back. Didn’t bother asking for a refund because I just wanted to get out.

children throwing food at me …. when complaining to the man with eye issue he didn’t know what day it was nor the time and said he was going to kick us out at 12…. when we asked why he said he was the doorman i’m all for inclusivity as honey but this has taken a step too far…. i will be speaking to head office and making sure man with the eye issue doesn’t call me honey again…. i told him my name was honey so he kept on calling me honieee i did not appreciate this i have a non binary boyfriend called koren that lied about cancer….

Stopped in here for a light lunch as qe were sightseeing Gloucester. Staff really friendly and we sat outside which was nice Food was good, lasagne,apninis, pizza and a wrap. All well cooked and tasty so no complaints there. Only real issue is the seagulls. On two occasions the took food from people eating around us and when we went to leave a few took the opportunity to puck the leftovers. An issue for the council I would suggest but if I went again would sit inside.

Food is good. The beers are cheapest ever. However the service at the bar and the cleaning up of tables and removal of previous patrons glasses could really improve. My friends and I are here every weekend and tables are always dirty, and almost always found with sticky residue, and, pretty please - clean the chairs. This is a restaurant after all.

No complaints, good food, nice location

Food was usual for a spoons, it arrived quite swiftly at a busy time and there were 7 of us. Not all meals were as hot as you would hope for but not cold enough to complain about. The staff were prompt and polite, couldn't fault them. We would return.

Love them or hate, Wetherspoons continue to give great value for money and here they have another great location and building. We visited for breakfast on a very hot day but the air con kept us cool. If anything, worth a visit just to keep cool. Lovely atmosphere.

Cheapest place for coffee! £1.56 for a refillable mug. Wide of coffee and chocolate drinks plus tea. Absolutely fantastic!

Was out here last night was so busy, but im reviewing a staff member, waitress she was AMAZING, helped a lady with finding out the time for last bus to chelt, overheard another lady get told by bar staff no salt for her shot so she went and found some for her, and she didnt stop All Night!! You are luck to have her she needs to be recognised, i dont know her name but she had beautiful red hair up in a bun, beautiful she had many people saying to her she was complimented by alot of people saying she was doing an amazing job 😉

The absolute pinnacle of Wetherspoons! Wine and dine with our lord and savour, the High Constable of England. Will be revisiting royalty again and recommend to all my noblemen.

I was really looking forward to treating my daughter to a wonderful veggie breakfast and coffee because I normally really love the food but the breakfast was really not good at all. I we had old hard mushrooms which I paid extra for the fried tomatoes tastes old and beyond their best veggie sausage were like rubber and the beans was obviously already been cooked a billion times before and from whatever day as they were sooo dry the best part was the toast as even the coffee machine was playing up really disappointing

Great food and service on the first day, on second day it went pear shaped. When 3 of the dishes arrived, we were told they couldn't do the fourth one, but gave us an alternative, which took 10 minutes to arrive, and they had missed off all the extras we ordered!!

In a grand historic building is the ever-reliable presence of Wetherspoon. After a few hours sightseeing, it was ideal for lunch. After ordering, the goods arrived in short time. All very tasty and satisfying.

Two reasons would encourage more patrons and stop gulls eating human food very good to wild life great profits needs to fix gents toilet door, it has no soft closer as the continual bang shakes building . on Smoking permitted in no smoking areas tables left dirty in summer

Upset by rude customer. Manager had to speak to him.

Usual Wetherspoon, terrible service, dirty premises. The Gents toilets are disgraceful. Only one cubical with a toilet roll dispenser, and only one with a lock. This is the standard I have come to expect in this pub chain nowadays.

The girl that took our order was one of the most miserable and rudest l ha ve dealt with Very poor customer servive Maybe someone could teach her to smile and remind her that without us customers she would not have a job!

An irregular haunt of ours so we know what to expect. Very busy all afternoon - it was a sunny day. The staff coped really well with no long waits for anything. We ordered food late afternoon and it was good value for money, especially as a drink is included.

Food Lousy, tables disgusting with hours of food waste, human leftovers. Staff all wooden/bland who can be very easily offended over nothing at all! No names, manager details given, total censorship if you raise your consumer rights & complain! Spineless, cowardly staff who will not provide details to offence, date, staff members, etc. TOTAL LACK OF EVIDENCE!!

Service at the bar was quick but was early in the afternoon. Food was delivered within a reasonable time frame. East to order via the app.

Gains an extra star from me for its wonderful dockside location. It's also very close to the Quays shopping centre.

After ordering 4 drinks that took ten minutes because the young lad didn't know how to work the till, not his fault, then he poured a pint of IPA instead of what I'd asked for which was alcohol free IPA. As he had changed me for a pint and not a bottle of alcohol free, I asked for the difference to be refunded. OMG. This took 3 managers, forty-five minutes to sort out. Now I'm sorry but it's basic maths, it was only the last manager that had some common sense and sorted it out, by this time I had actually lost the will to live! I was even asked if I had actually paid in the first place! Staff training should be high on the agenda, appalling for the young man and very frustrating for myself.

The food was exceptionally poor. I had a grilled chicken katsu curry and the presentation was diabolical. Everyone at the table was laughing at my plate of food because of how bad it looked. It didn't even come with the chillies and coriander like the menu said. It was slop on a plate. I just wanted to burst into tears. Bloody awful! Everyones portions were tiny, too. The tables were filthy. Multiple waiters walked past our table when we go there and I had to clear previous peoples dishes myself. Never ever again.

A nice situation by Gloucester Docks, an area which could well be a mini version of Birmingham's reinvented docksides. The Lord High Constable is the more comfortable of Gloucester's two Wetherspoons, and has a nice outside area near the water. Unfortunately my lunch, while not exactly bad, was one of the more ill-conceived things I've ever eaten, the kind of thing you think up when you get home from the pub and raid the fridge for whatever is in there: one sausage, a small amount of bacon, and a fried egg.... inside a tortilla wrap. What detached intelligence thought of that one? I would not advise it. The pub was ok though.

Popped in Tuesday steak day had a lovely mixed grill and a beer or two fantastic value

We have visited this pub in the past and found it to be very good. Unfortunately, we visited this pub on the last day of school for the local 6th form and the place was overrun with school leavers. There wasn't enough staff on and the wait time at the bar was totally unacceptable. I was advised thatore staff would be coming on shift in an hour. Little use to me having waited half an hour to get served.

Very nice Wetherspoons. One of the better ones I've been to. Light, airy and pleasant with a good range of well kept beer. Didn't have food so can't comment.

If you would like something authentic, just look at the front of this restaurant and continue your way Crowded and poor food (we took burgers, I see others where luckier with food... so give it a try Want to grab a drink ? Probably fine

I went to this Wetherspoons with a friend and we ordered some food and drinks from the app. We waited a long time to be served and when we we’re eventually served the lads that delivered the food were rude and the food looked like it had been sat around for a while, quite dry. We did mention our concerns to a member of staff but they really weren’t interested. Will not be going back here and would definitely not recommend.

Amazing cocktails in big pitchers for good prices! Fun atmosphere, could use some music

Went to The Lord High Constable this evening and ordered food. The food hadn’t arrived after some time, so we mentioned it to a staff member. A little while later, a couple of young boys came over and literally threw our food bowls onto the table and walked off. I don’t feel we were out of order mentioning we had been waiting a while for our food, but the staff obviously took offence to this. The food that came was dry and tasteless. Whetherspoons is cheap for a reason, would rather spend more money somewhere else that has quality service and quality food!

Got kicked out for drinking a Diet Coke and forced to down it as wasn’t allowed to finish, the young women threatened me and made me feel uncomfortable

I got kicked off Wetherspoons for no reason with all my mates I am very disappointed in the young women that kicked us out and was very rude and unfriendly and didn’t let my drink and eat my panini

Food is alright BUT staff are incredibly rude, tried to order food but got totally ingnored and giving being shouted at to wait. This lady with glasses and many other females there are so rude and giving you dirty faces. DO NOT COME HERE. Go to the regal way better

This is a great place to visit. We sat by the canal in the beer garden and it was lovely. It gets busy at night, so if you plan to eat, go early to get a nice table or booth.

Walk around Visitors Docks, Gloucester. made me bit cold morning. The L.H.C. facade was the trick, to enter & eat some hot deal. Staff makes you home.. tks. Worth the visit around. Chxxx 💛

Just called in for a coffee before heading home, lovely place and staff, was quiet when we called in but I think it was the calm before the storm as musical instruments were being set up as we left 👍🏻

Just popped in for some coffees with my wife, served pretty much straight away and was able to sit outside in a nice little sun trap.

Called just for ab afternoon drinks following a sight seeing day in Gloucester. Staff are pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere is very nice. On the downside my hubby s beer was cloudy and he returned it twice and ended up having something completely different. My blood orange G&T was lovely. We would definitely go back here as the food looked excellent and the cleanliness of the place was very good. Toilets were good too

It’s a better than average spoons. Hard to find a clean table as many left with glasses still on or dirty. Food managed to reach the table just as I got from the bar. Chips very soggy looked like they have been hot held for a long time. Meal not quite to description either - large mixed missing a sausage as should have two. 4 stars as you pay for what you get.

Things have improved so much since last review. Well done! Glasses removed, tables wiped, sticky menus removed. So much better 👍🤣

Food came before drinks ordered via app, ordered extra bacon/cheese for burger but bacon was cold, noone checked if food was ok Went again the following day after watching a film and service was better, drinks came quickly and food came shortly after (used app to order)

Nice pub...not the best meal ever, but not bad.

It's Wetherspoons so you will need to shout to communicate and the food will be a gamble. Cheap pint tho!
