Good pint, nice Panini, pleasant staff.

Very good pint of real ale, and the steak & ale pie with mash/mushy peas was excellent.

Brilliant service and fab Sunday roast. Dog friendly. Perfect roast beef .Crunchy and tasty Yorkshire pudding. Interesting vegetables and good roast potatoes . Friendly and professional. Thanks

In Macclesfield for work and this pub was recommended for a meal, booked a table and went with 6 colleagues, we were blown away with the value for money, portion sizes, and how good the food is.. i recommended going here for a great meal at such low prices.

On arriving at the empty pub we were ushered into the furthest corner. The food arrived quickly, the chilli I ordered not only looked anaemia but tasted even worse. What I also found strange was another table arrived and they ordered burgers and asked if they could have them cooked medium rare to which they were told, after asking the chef that it wouldn’t be possible. I write this review reluctantly as we have been here many times and always thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m not one to fuss or complain but I feel the standard was too low below average.. I’m not sure I’ll return.

Great little county pub family run and great beers and food menu .

Sat outside, the woman serving seemed distant... Cold 'hot' chocs and the mulled wine was forgotten to be even served. Would like to try again in the up coming summer for food maybe it would be a different experience

Really enjoyed my first visit to the Lord Clyde. We had gammon, eggs and chips + ginger ale, each, plus one espresso. Total cost £36.70. Service was friendly and efficient, food was hot, tasty and plentiful. Overall, to be recommended!

Food was really bad, went in for lunch, chips were overcooked and greasy, panini with a slice of bacon and brie. Very expensive for what it was. Was dog friendly and locals were friendly. Shame about the grub.

Been here many times for Sunday lunch and fully enjoyed it. Today having booked a week ago, arrived with friends. Told when we were asked for our order that roast beef had finished. Not contacted by phone or even mentioned when we checked in at the bar. We accepted this and ordered pork but asked if we could have the Yorkshires with it. The staff said yes. When we got the bill, we were charged £1 each for the Yorkshires! What a bl***Y cheek

First visit here, disappointed! Shown to a table in the back where people were already squeezed in, even though there were other tables empty. Kept coats on as the room was cold. No atmosphere, expensive drinks, reason for this review was I had a bad stomach all night, never again!

Heard very good comments. Welcome was 2nd to none. Atmosphere was marred with a continually screeching child. Partner was pleased with his meal. I not so, chose chicken and mushroom pie and I could find 2 small pieces of chicken. If we go again I will probably opt for pizza. Staff were brilliant though cannot fault them

Little gem of a pub. Food is excellent. Had the fish goujons that were lovely Sat outside, and they put the heaters on when the weather turned. Dog friendly too👍

Quite simply a great pub. It has become my local despite being ten minutes drive away. Good beer (Taylor's) and very friendly staff. Well run by Sue and Julian who are very welcoming and look after their customers. Always plenty of banter with Nick and a lively atmosphere with the locals and staff. Food has always been good too whenever I have eaten here. Love it, it's the best pub in the area. Please get Hopical Storm in more often :-)

I am not happy, over the years I have spend a loy of money, the burger specially the bread was dry and I couldn't finished it was disgusting. I won't come back, i was a neighbour, I have spend a lot of money in there not anymore. I won't recommend there.

Not sure if change of owners but really disappointed by quality of food, wine and service plus now showing sports on the tv Customers allowed to sit by the bar and stand in between tables to watch the rugby Made dining an uncomfortable & unpleasant experience….it was like who can shout louder!! Food was ok but not at the quality as previously and definitely won’t be rushing back to eat again which is a real shame

Sunday lunch - reputed to be their specialty. Food first: Filled Yorkshire pudding was tasty enough but the Yorkshire was so 'substantial' it was hard to cut through. The portion was a good hearty size, the veg served separately nice enough and overall it was nice. Roast Pork dinner was again tasty enough but small in size. Puddings were great Secondly: The cutlery was so flimsy it struggled to cut through anything of substance. It felt cheap and dull... that sort of cheap and dull that hurts you hand as you try to cut through something Lastly: The place was cold. clearly trying to save on the heating

I've never had a bad meal here. First time for a Sunday lunch and it was fantastic, the beef and pork were excellent.

Service extremely slow on this occasion otherwise would have given five stars. The food was great and well worth the wait but better communication about the delay would have made us feel more welcome.

Not been here for years and was pleased to see the small extension at the back. Food was not how I remembered but times do change. It was fine for pub food though and the service was cheery and pleasant.

Love this pub, sure it's small but at least there's plenty of outdoor seating, parking on the side road a plenty, dog friendly and the staff are very friendly and the food is really nice.

This was our second visit. We were a group of seven and had cycled up from Stockport for tea along the Middlewood way. The place was really clean, the staff really friendly and the food was both delicious and plentiful. I wholly recommend a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food and a nice beer selection. Was a great spot after a hike up around White Nancy.

Around 14 of our club happened to cycle past en route home to Chorlton having spent a few hours in the peaks on a very hot day and we all needed more water. The hospitality from the staff was above and beyond. The lady brought out several jugs of water, buckets of ice and welcomed us in to use the facilities. I'm now going to return in the next few weeks and bring my family for a meal and a few beers. 👍🏼

Nice pub always has been. Staff were nice but the last 3 times I've been now the chips have been cooked in the same oil/fryer as the fish so my chips taste like fish. Fine I suppose if you're ordering fish and chips, but I wasnt.

Fantastic country pub. Lovely seating inside and out. Food was great and very reasonable priced. Cask ale was spot on and staff were polite and very efficient! Definitely going back and would recommend everyone to try it for themselves.

Average food, small menu with not a lot of choice. Staff were friendly though. Not particularly warm, had a real fire but wasn't in use. Did like the fact it was a traditional pub and they do keep the beer well. I'd go back for drinks but wouldn't go back to eat.

Whilst the lunchtime menu isn't extensive (most aren't) the food that we had was very nice and not expensive. The service was good and friendly, yes nice little pub.

The good reviews brought us to the pub, nice location, quiet place, and that’s all the good things I can say about it. The food was disappointing. It might be a good pub for drinks, not for food, it is not homemade food is more like frozen food, the chips are frozen and the gravy was congealed

A. Good Sunday roast in a pleasant country setting. Reasonably priced Sunday roast, served until 5pm... a little early to close.. could do with staying open later. Very near the Premier Inn at Tytherington where we were staying and fancied a meal somewhere more interesting and rural than the Beefeater next door. This fit the bill perfectly.

A great local pub made better. New outdoor area with heaters and permanent cover. Great food, a warm welcome and some decent beers on tap to boot.

The Lord Clyde has worked really hard to accommodate customers with the Covid restrictions since the lockdown parameters lifted. There are a number of additional outside tables with a lovely wooden pergola now in place which has outdoor patio heaters to keep you warm. (Hot water bottles can also be requested, lovely idea)! The other tables are at present covered with gazebos to cope with the spring weather. There is now a fabulous horse trailer providing hot and cold drinks, Bacon and Sausage Butties and the most amazing homemade chocolate brownies!! The menu for outdoor dining is one of the best in the area. It’s high quality pub grub served by lovely helpful and friendly ladies, Caroline and Katy. Caroline’s the cook’s cakes are absolutely delicious!! Sue and Julian have worked hard, the place looks great and the food is well cooked, well presented and good value for money! Well done Lord Clyde!! 👏🏽 5 🌟

Wet N Wild but what a welcome. Great staff- great beers - great food. On the wettest Bank Holiday Monday after a challenging bike ride the guys and girls made us feel welcome. Warmed us up with blankets and gave us cushions to sit on. Hot chocolate too. Great service. Well done Lord Clyde and thanks for the outdoor heaters and shelter. Brilliant!

Arrived at 14:25 for coffee and bacon butties (plus maybe a cheeky beer), which are actually very very good and were told the stove/grill was switched off and they were no longer serving even though the sign says takeaway until 15:00. No offer to switch the grill back on or even make them in the kitchen - very disappointed.

They are offering hot bag and blanks to their clients to warm up

Booked a table friday lunch time for 4 at 12.00 We turned up and put on a table, we asked to move table as there were several tables in nicer positions and we were told it was not possible as tables were allocated on who booked first. We were the first people in pub and those tables were still empty from what we could see when we left an hour or so later. Food, all the meals came in a cardboard boxes and because they had a plastic window in could not be recycled. I asked why we were getting our meals in boxes and was told it made it easier for the kitchen, what a poor reason for ruining a dining perience as the food was quite good with reasonable portions. Just lazy. I doubt it if we will eat there again

Booked a table Saturday afternoon as we’d cycled past many times in lockdown and wanted to try the food. We went up on our bikes and our table was ready for us. Service was friendly and the food was just what we wanted! Great portion sizes and really tasty!! My partner had the fish and chips and he loved it. We will definitely be back!!
