The Lord Arthur Lee Public House in Fareham

A distinct lack of hollandaise sauce on the eggs. My colleagues were horrified to discover the spelling mistake on the breakfast menu which stated mushrooms when in fact they received a mushroom with their breakfast. It is no surprise this venue is closing.

Really busy Saturday afternoon but the staff were still keeping up and doing a cracking job.

Used this pub for years, its a tragedy it's closing at the end of April 24.... I just don't get why as its closing as its always busy...Good luck to the staff...

Wetherspoons does get some bad press but it is great value for money and the Lord Arthur is one of the best. Had a lovely Curry in there today. 4 people fed and watered for £40 amazing!

A regular place every Tuesday. Food is generally always good. The beer is more so, and I love the variety of special weekly ales. So sad that it's changing hands

Bad service, cut our table off for absolutely no reason. Dirty pub, rude and arrogant staff. Don't recommend at all. We much prefer the crown, better service all round, staff actually have a sense of humour and personality in there.

Very nice place to eat. My sister and I went for breakfast. It was very busy and our orders arrived promptly. Very nice time

It will be a shame when this closes as the range of beer and the size is great for getting a large group of friends together

Great place for family lunch. We went with our 1 year old and 4 year old grandaughter ' s. Kids menu went down a treat. they also have a vegetarian and vegan menu,also none dairy. Very busy but speedy with the food considering. 2 happy full kids and grandparents Update. Went in for lunch. I had fish and chips. My wife had a vegan curry. Very good value. Although it was busy the food came quickly and was freshly cooked. Very good.

In a smallish town like Fareham they still manage to have two Wetherspoons, about 5 minutes walk from each other along the High Street. But they somehow have very different vibes, we only called in for a drink so I am not able to give feed back on food quality. 90% of drinks are the same here as the other one down the street

Typical Wetherspoons pub with pub food and good value drinks. It was a Saturday night and the pub was buzzing with various groups of people enjoying themselves. Service was good and tables were cleared quite quickly. Would rather this Wetherspoons pub than the other one in the town which is smaller and a bit pokey.

Staff rude, had purchased a couple of coffees in the other weatherspoons in cosham which we drank on way there as working locally. Took the 2 cups in with us as not finished. I was at counter ordering food and more coffee!! Staff approached my colleague rudely said you had better not top that up in here. Even though i had ordered more at counter..very rude, i think the 2 month work contract we have in fareham wont be seeing any of our team in fareham weatherspoons. They should take a leaf out of other weatherspoons hand book. Shsme wasnt as good as previous visits!!!

Great curry, we had a good amount of food for the very reasonable price we paid.

I've only been this place a couple times to grab drinks, but each time has gone well.

This is a classic case of JD wetherspoons so not really too much to say. Food is cheap and cheerful and the service was as you would expect nothing that really stood out. The atmosphere is... Well it's a pub so not much else to say in that.

Typical wetherspoons. No complaints - this is simple pub food. Good beer and usual low prices.

Younger waiting staff very miserable which is a shame as the older lady behind the bar is so lovely , she’s quick to serve and very polite and was so lovely to a guy who has special needs and was wishing everyone a merry Christmas .

I came here with my parents for breakfast. The manger, (Lucy) who served us, was extremely rude. Even when my mum said, good morning, she didn't respond and mum had to repeat herself. Given us the wrong order as well. Was the company in a desperate need of a manger, to hire an employee, who is extremely unprofessional with a -0 people's skills. I not going to advised anyone to come to such a place with their family.

We visited just after opening on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The place was clean and tidy, food and service very good. No complaints at all, and will come again.

Was good but my food could have been a bit hotter like it normally is but must admit was extremely busy and I suppose it was sitting waiting to be delivered to my table .

If I could rate it a 0 I WOULD! Staff are unpleasant and seems like they want to off themselves. One of the workers were so rude they practically frizbeeeeed the plate in my DIRECTION! The chicken burger was underdone and wet! I could of sworn I saw a roach in the kitchen. Just in general a rude and unprofessional place to go. Definitely going to the crown from now on. *burp*

Absolutely brilliant pizza, especially for the price. I’m so happy they don’t pre cut the pizza, that way I can make a calzone Or 30 tiny slices, or even go for the whole thing all at once.

Its ten times better than any Wetherspoons in Southampton we lost the best one the Standing order and the Giddy bridge need a makeover I worked in the Giddy when it was Wantons the furnishes for 15 years

Great location, very spacious and friendly staff. The only slight let down was the variety of beers for the advertised festival. Unfortunately for me, most of the beers I wanted to try were only available at the Fratton Wetherspoon from what I could tell. Even if it's a few cans or bottles, improving the choice would be massively beneficial. That said I did enjoy most of the beers. Thanks

This is a good branch of Wetherspoon. I think it's on the closure list. Sad.

A strange experience. I don't think I've ever been in a pub quite like this before. Absolutely full of really old people. Nothing wrong with that per se but just really odd. Late breakfast, ok and good value. Attentive and polite service. Generally everything you'd expect from a Wetherspoon's. Just really odd to see loads and loads and loads of really old people shuffling around. Absolutely surreal.

Another lovely spoons on the Fareham High Street with small outdoor seating in the front and back. Again, the staff were very friendly and constantly smiling. It's quite a bit larger than the Crown further up the street but still has a nice homey feel to it. The Guinness was excellent.

Only used it to go to toilet, was in area as visit to dentist.

Staff are extremely rude, they will tell you to turn your phone off because it’s loud while drunks are screaming over eachother. A 2 minute walk further up the high street will take you to a better wetherspoons the Crown Inn, funnily enough the staff there are pleasant and agree how much a bunch of tossers the lord arthur lee is. Compliments to the chef only

Great spoons, the better of the two fareham ones so shame up for sale. Great food, great service and always great drinks. No faults at all, clean, staff are good and it's usually always quite busy.

Stopped by for a pint on Saturday lunchtime. Good pub, doesn't deserve to be closed down.

Myself and three friends thought we would stop and grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks before heading further afield. Everything seemed okay initially, the pub was quiet. The young staff seemed to be a bit moody but we had no issue getting served…until: After two of us had food and returned to our friends at the bar to order a round of drinks we were asked to leave, no explanation given…so off we went. This is the only pub I've ever been refused in, if we had been noisy or caused a disturbance etc fair enough. But we weren't. Just four guys catching up. After reading other reviews on here there seems to be a recurring pattern of staff with attitude and behaviour issues at this venue. So certainly will not be returning or recommending.

You can't go wrong at a Wetherspoons. The food was for a snack, so no waiting the service was quick and food was basic, but ticks the box.

Visited on a Saturday, was very busy. Waited by the bar to order food and drink. One person serving and 5 people waiting to be served. When a staff member came over eventually to serve, they just served the first person they saw. Who was the last person to wait at the bar. Everyone else had been waiting 10 minutes or more. Very annoying!!. Food was nothing special. So left after we had eaten. Won't rush to go back!!!

Rather rude staff who always look as if they’ve been told by their GPs they have a week left to live. A few manage to actually crack a smile.., but even they look like they're being HELD AT GUNPOINT to do so. Despite this.... 🙄 Decent pub food, just what you expect from a 'spoons. Cheap alcohol, tasty snacks. Always have a great night out, and enjoy the bubbly atmosphere here. 😃👍

Being told to be quiet whilst we were singing Happy birthday was a little sad on there part

Ordered chicken jalfrazie and the mangalorian cauliflower both with rice and 2 pints of punk IPA. Very good quality and perfect amount of food served promptly. Followed by a couple of blood orange gins. Nice friendly place made for a good night out.

Decent spoons, good food, good staff. Came in for some drinks and a light bite with some friends to celebrate the birthday of a mate. Typical experience and expectations of a Wetherspoon, drinks that are just okay, and food that are on par with all other places. Staff were a mix, experienced a member of staff who seemed a bit full on, but the rest were lovely and polite.

Food took a long time. Vegetarian sausage so overcooked we couldn't cut it. Sent it back and next try was better. Fish is often overlooked and tough. It's a shame as staff friendly and tables cleared quickly. Afternoon special a good price but I think we may only go in for drink in future.

I’m really disappointed in the general manager here, I came in the other day and jo the manager talks about her employees behind their backs, unprofessional considering they are so kind and professional, treat your workers better.

Great atmosphere, nice customers inside the pub. Food great and big portions. My husband loved the beer, Leffel Blonde. I like the free refills for coffee and hot chocolate on the coffee machine

Alright as a pub but Weather spoons not letting dog owners NOT use as a garden with a small dog unreal . We had to cancel our drinks and go somewhere else. Hell!! Weather spoons I'm very disappointed when I use you regularly.

Decent Spoons, spacious seating area with a few booths to give a cosy feel. Staff are good here at keeping bad behaviour in check which means the place has a pleasant atmosphere. Due to change ownership soon because Spoons are trying to sell this business, which is a shame because I won’t be going to the other Spoons in Fareham.

Extremely busy. Morning coffee standing only, liquid lunch, just as busy, but found two stools to perch on.

Had the biggest breakfast in a while, unlimited coffee refills but could only manage 2 coffees after such a big breakfast, had a great laugh with the staff very friendly people

Totally rubbishyaking forever to get rental deposit back ..with no customer service promised to get back to us did not bother

Nice curry and great service. Clean and safe. On my second visit the curry portion would have had trouble filling a child.
