The Longham White Horse in Breckland

I was well looked after during my stay. Nothing was too much trouble and Barry works hard to make sure everyone is looked after.

Closed for food. We made a special trip there today only to discover they no longer serve food, yet the website still offers food!

Really enjoyed our stay at the White Horse. The room was comfortable, clean, and perfect for our family with the twin beds in the adjoining room. Barry rustled up a great dinner for us himself, and we thoroughly enjoyed our full cooked breakfast in the morning too. A great stopping off point for exploring northern Norfolk, and altogether a lovely stay.

Barry is a true legend. Like going back to the days when service was a part of what was standard

Stayed for three nights as a family group in three rooms. We were all so impressed with Barry’s wonderful hospitality. Longham is a quiet village (a little bit off the beaten track) but close to Fakenham, Dereham etc and no traffic noise to disturb sleep. The cleanliness in the bedrooms as well as downstairs in the bar and dining area is exceptional. Food was great, can recommend the pies, and the breakfast was cooked to perfection. Well done Barry (and helpers)!

A wonderful pub in a lovely quiet location. We stayed a couple of nights in the air bnb. Barry..... you're a legend! How you do what you do at 81 is amazing. You, Lesley and the locals we met made us feel very welcome. We loved the banter too. Haha! Your fish n chips were wonderful, I'm just gutted we didn't have time to try your breakfast too. The bathroom and shower facilities we used were spotless and couldn't fault these for our stay. We hope you've enjoyed the fudge we gave you. We highly recommend a visit or stay here.

Booked this hotel for its proximity to Sandringham - 20 minutes by car. Friendly host, quiet bedroom with good bathroom. Very nice breakfast! Would recommend!

Another annual trip with 3 mates to the White Horse as our base for a few days shooting and relaxing back at the pub. Barry looked after us with his own inimitable hospitality with plenty of banter and leg-pulling. The bedrooms were spotless, as always and the breakfasts delicious. Evening food is limited these days as there is no full-time chef, but the pies were great and Barry went out of his way to lay on Steaks and a curry on two of our nights. Friendly locals, quiet location and ample parking. How Barry, at 81, stays up late with us at the bar and still gets up early to sort breakfast defeats me! Thanks Barry and see you next year (remember our£50 bet...!)

Had two rooms for one night stay whilst in the area. Two of us stopped in the family room, Overall great room and service. Barry was excellent, food was good and so was the beer.

The Whitehorse is one of a kind. We actually found it by accident and I don't mind these kind of accidents. We booked in one night but ended up staying 3 nights. Barry the landlord is a gentleman, couldn't do enough for you. Know it's not 5☆ but if you can get past that in your head it's better than any 5☆. It's homely, comfortable and reasonably priced. All staff couldn't do enough for you and the food was good to. Don't know if or when we'll be back, but all I can say is, Barry don't change anything, it's perfect the way it is. Regards your Irish visitors

Stayed for a couple of nights at this cozy traditional pub . Barry the landlord was friendly and welcoming and cooked a mean fish and chips, and a selection of tasty pies! Room was clean and comfortable - had my best night's sleep in ages. Excellent breakfast and good coffee to boot. I'll be back!

We stayed for two nights to visit family. Barry was very welcoming and had lots of stories to entertain us. The room was lovely. Clean, spacious with a comfortable bed. The full English breakfast was delicious. Fresh and tasty ingredients. Will definitely stay here again.

We booked an overnight stay at this venue on 30th October 2021. We attended a memorial service in the afternoon and returned to the pub afterwards. It had been decorated with big spiders, cobwebs, scary figures ghosts etc for Halloween. Yummy food was also available and a band called "Cold Sweat" had been booked for the night. Our family room was very clean and comfortable, with everything that we needed. In the morning we ate a full English breakfast, cooked by Barry the owner. Our thanks to Barry, who made our short stay extremely enjoyable and memorable. I would highly recommend a stay here and have given it 5 stars

Just returned from an over stay after visiting family Close by. The White Horse is a little remote, but I knew that when I booked so it was no problem for me. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in the bar, it was a nice way to relax at the end of a long day. Rooms were absolutely fine, clean and with comfy beds, and when you add the breakfast which was very good, overall it represents excellent value for money. Would definitely return.

Couldn’t rate our stay any higher. We loved every second! Fantastic food served in the restaurant. Room was clean and beautiful. Bedding also smelt AMAZING!! Slept so well I feel sad to leave! A great night away, the food was amazing, the Oreo cheesecake was delicious! The staff were so lovely and friendly, extremely welcoming. Barry's Full English was spot on and just what we needed to set us off for our journey home! Highly recommend. Thanks for having us Barry and co!

Another fantastic meal! Well done Barry and staff. I think I have found my new all time favourite in the salmon fillet with new potatoes, peas and salad. You offer such a great choice and all top quality it is always such a difficult decision. Keep up the good work, there’s not many places left like yours. A true gem in the countryside.

We arranged to meet friends here for lunch having picked the pub from The Good Beer Guide and we were not disappointed. Very friendly staff and locals, a nice lunch and immaculate toilets. We shall hope to return.

We arrived at the White Horse to be met by the owner who was very gruff. He took us up to the room, said “here’s your room” and turned to leave. I had to ask what time was breakfast: “when d’you want it?” and how to get back in & what time at night. It was quite a frosty reception , however the room was comfortable & spotlessly clean. Breakfast was not much better. Nobody met us when we went down so we sat at a table & waited ages. A lady came & said “full English?” There was no menu for breakfast, no list of options. So we had the full English, which was very nice. When we left they were a little more chatty. We had booked to come back for Sunday roast with family, and had pre-ordered burger & fries for my nephews. I confirmed this with the owner when we checked out.When we returned for lunch they’d forgotten to put the fryer on so there were no chips. The boys had to have burger & roast potatoes. We found the service to be very slow- we we’re almost forgotten about in the conservatory. The food was great, though. We all had the Sunday roast apart from the kids followed by delicious desserts. Easy parking outside, lots of toiletries in the room as well as bottled water & tea/ coffee making facilities (no biscuits!)Overall, a comfortable clean place with good food but let down by the demeanour of the staff.

If you want to eat in a spotlessly clean restaurant and frendly atmosphere with attentive staff I would certainly reccomend the White Horse. The menue is limited to typical pub grub but it is prepaired so well it offers the weary traveler all that is needed.

On my business travel I picked this Pub due to reviews and close proximity to my next location. Barry was a great host and I had a fantastic evening. The beer was great and a wide selection of Gin too. The food was amazing. Home made Pies and great cheese board. The room was clean and tidy. I would recommend this not only for price but the full experience.

We spent one night at Barry‘s pub and had a fantastic time. Barry is the perfect host and made us feel very welcome. The pub is cosy and has a friendly atmosphere. Our evening meals and breakfast were delicious and the staff very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a spacious room which was very clean and comfortable. We can highly recommend a stay at the White Horse at Longham. We loved the Britishness of it all.

We wanted a base in Norfolk for a two night stay and booked the White Horse on line through Expedia. On arrival we were met by the host who showed us to our lovely room overlooking the front of the hotel. Since we had eaten on the way up we just fancied a pud and the steam pudding was very tasty so we decided to eat there the following evening. The food (both breakfasts and dinner) was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff both at breakfast time and both evenings were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our host has a lovely manner which makes you feel both welcome and comfortable.Meal time are flexible. The guest decides when to have breakfast .

We went to the white horse on the recommendation of the blacksmith course I was doing. We ordered a drink and asked if we could have a table for food. The barman said that was fine but we wouldn’t be able to order for 40 mins. We were fine with that and sat at our dinner table. 40 minutes passed and we asked a waitress to take our order. She said somebody would come to us. 15 minutes later we asked the waitress again and she said we could order but our meal would be around 45 minutes to reach us. That now totalled over 1.5 hours!! We asked the original barman and he said he had no control over the kitchen so it would be the long wait. If he had said no to food at the start we would have gone elsewhere - if he’d asked the kitchen how long it would have been fine. What you don’t do is leave customers with tables all around them being served and ignore the fact they want food! I’m guessing from the clientele that because we weren’t locals we weren’t important!! Really not impressed with the premises, service or attitude! If a pub can’t serve two large tables and 4 small ones they need more waiting staff and a different chef!

Visited the area for a wedding and booked four nights. What an inspired decision! We were treated as welcome friends and had an excellent room with all expected amenities and a few more besides. Food was excellent, Chrissie and her team produce first class food served with friendliness and charm. I especially recommend the Black Pudding Starter........just brilliant. Barry is an ever courteous and helpful host and a mine of local knowledge and information. Certainly a trip to remember with joy.

Family of 3 stayed for 5 nights B&B.; Accommodation clean and comfy , breakfasts were great . Barry went out of his way to accommodate my daughter who asked for off menu pancakes.

We stayed for one night to visit friends and are already planning our next stay here. Our lovely room met all our needs and the landlord was welcoming and helpful. This is such a pretty pub in an idyllic location. We couldn't fault it at all. Our breakfast set us up for a busy day and was one of the best we've had.

Called in for a table of 8 for tea. We were not disappointed! We visited midweek so the pub was quiet but we were given a nice big table and the waitress was very attentive. The food itself took about half an hour to some out but boy was it worth it! Our group had everything from pie to curry to pork chops. Beautiful. We were all really pleased that we found this hidden gem.

I have eaten her many times and they have always been friendly and helpful. We held the wake after both of my parents funerals here too and the staff couldn't have been more kind and caring. Its a good local Norfolk pub and the menu reflects this. A good place to stop for a good meal in a pleasant location.

We came here tonight from London for a family birthday and the service and food was terrible. We were asked to order our food a few days in advance due to our party size and when we sent the email we didn’t receive a reply so assumed that all was in order. When we arrived we were told that two of our meals weren’t available..... (why ask for our orders in advance if those choices aren’t available ?). One of the steaks was ordered as medium and it turned up well done. The Thai fish cakes were basically from Iceland and most of the food was deep fried and awful.

This was our third visit to the White Horse and we have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. This time (and the time before also) I had the home made Steak and Kidney Pie, while my wife spoke with enjoyment about her smoked haddock. And lovely chocolate pudding with custard to follow. That's how it should be when you go out for a meal.

Booked this after it being recommended by a friend of a friend and could not have been happier, nice room, really clean and comfy. evening meal was perfect as was the comprehensive breakfast in the morning. Excellent parking, would happily stay here again. Recommended...

I have stayed in many good (and bad) places in Norfolk over the past 20 years but for some reason, never this one. To be honest, I do like to try different places - but not any more. You can't beat this.

We stayed at the Longham White Horse for the 1940s event at nearby Gressenhall. Longham is a quiet village so staying here at the White Horse was a nice relaxing weekend. The rooms were clean, with comfy beds, ensuite shower and decorated in a traditional way suiting the establishment. They serve a good sized English breakfast .

Lovely village pub nice and quit accommodation was lovely and comfortable nice breakfast I would recommend staying here.

Stayed at The White Horse for 2 days in October having a breakfast & dinner each day. The food was excellent with a varied menu for both the evening meals and breakfast. Barry the landlord also has a selection of real ales on tap!The room we stayed in was clean and well appointed with plenty of hot water and generous tea making facilities. This Pub Come B/B is centrally located in North Norfolk and is in an ideal position to visit this area of Norfolk. Highly Recommended.

Have visited here on several occasions over the past year, with friends and as a couple.

Called for lunch with parents. They usually go for the special deal two course meal, but some of us didn't fancy anything on the board, so went for meals from the main menu. Be warned portions are big - think the specials are slightly smaller, so more suitable for lunch. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. We ate in the bar and it was clean and comfortable. Service was good.

Food especially the breakfast was great and consistent over the time we stayed there. The choice on the evening menu was very good and although we arrived late (For the UK) we were fed and looked after. We would recommend this place with hesitation.

Barry runs this place just the way he wants to. It is his pub after all, not yours. This is a frequent haunt of mine because what you see is what you get. Great selection of drinks, both beers and gins, and food that is simple and prepared how you want with exceptional service. There are no Michelin stars and no Michelin prices, just good old Norfolk fare. Well done Barry and team

We stayed for 2 nights over the bank holiday, we were welcomed by the landlord Barry and shown to our room. Yes the room was on the small side but I had seen the photos on line and as I had booked at short notice, it did not come as a shock! The room was very clean, smelt fresh and the en suite was cosy but had everything you would need including toiletries.

I have been here a few times before, but not for well over one year. Decided to come here for Easter Sunday lunch with my daughter and husband.

As a family of five we all enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day Lunch on Sunday with plentiful, delicious hot food and tasty Apple Pie and Custard dessert. The Roast Lunches were very generous portions and all tasty, and the Salmon with Dill and Lemon Sauce was easily the best I have eaten in a restaurant anywhere, hot tender and delicious. The pub was filled to capacity but the two waitresses stayed calm and very polite and helpful. Service was therefore as good as the food. Thank you everyone for making our special day even more special.

I stayed for one evening mid week due to work. The pub is a traditional pub with restaurant. The room was comfortable with good facilities. The food was lovely. It made a very welcomed change to the big chain hotels I usually stay at. Would recommend to anyone. I can't wait till I'm in the area again.

I stayed here for 3 nights on my own due to work, I arrived here and was pleasantly surprised on how pretty the pub looked. I arrived and was met by Barry the owner who took me up to a lovely bright and cosy room. I was made to feel very welcome by Barry (a real character), Sean and the other locals. I felt comfortable to sit at the bar and chat with everyone. There was a blues band playing Friday night which was brilliant, I had a great time.

Extensive menu, many homemade dishes. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff & landlord. Steak and ale pie was amazing, individual pie full of meat thick gravy served with new potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots.

we attended The White horse for my dads 70th birthday, his choice where to go. there were 11 of us ,so we had to pre order, there was a large menu so first impressions were very good.

El personal era amable y atento y la comida era promedio. Proporciones eran buenas y fue una buena relación calidad-precio. No hay tabla de quesos. Es un pub limpio pero no es interesante o wow, es un pub normal.

Nos alojamos aquí por una noche mientras trabajan en la zona. Como yo estaba manejando un 7. 5 tonelada de camiones, me registré en google ver Mapas por satélite para garantizar el parking era amplio y estaba allí sin duda. Llegamos tarde y nos recibió el dueño, Barry, quien me enseñó la habitación. Aunque me lo pusieron en la más pequeña de las habitaciones dobles, era más que suficiente para mis necesidades. La habitación estaba bien planeada y bien utilizado con un espejo encima de un estante en una alcoba con enchufes debajo. El estante ubicado el té y el café y los ingredientes eran abundantes. Botellas de agua y vasos estaban también presentes. El mobiliario incluye una mesa con cajones y un taburete acolchado debajo. El baño, aunque pequeño, era adecuado y una buena provisión de toallas y artículos de tocador habían dejado. Se compone de un inodoro, lavabo y ducha washand con abundante agua caliente. Una plancha de pantalones también estaba en la habitación, así como una Santa Biblia en uno de los cajones del aparador. Me quitó a la tarde bar y disfrutamos de algunas pintas de "viejo Hoppy Hen", antes de pedir una sabrosa comida en el bar a un precio razonable (un restaurante menú fuller también está disponible). Haber tenido una buena noche de sueño en la cómoda cama doble, que luego disfrutamos del desayuno incluido antes de mi partida. El desayuno compuesto por té, café, zumo de fruta, cereales, tostadas y una selección de comida caliente, que en mi caso fue un desayuno inglés completo con tostadas. Una estancia agradable y nada era demasiado problema para el personal amable. Espero volver en el futuro sea en conexión con el trabajo o en un corto descanso. Muy recomendable y a un precio razonable! !

Estábamos a sólo para el fin de semana y elegimos este lugar debido a las críticas positivas. Las fotos necesitan ser actualizados, ya que es en realidad mucho mejor que las fotos especialmente el conservatorio. El desayuno era increíble! ! ! !

We were a party of 5, including a wheelchair user, and we greeted warmly and made comfortable at a table that had been prepared for us. There was a choice from 3 different roast meats and, having made our selections, we were soon served. All the meats were perfectly cooked & served in generous portions. The accompanying four vegetables were seasonal, beautifully cooked al dente, the fifth vegetable was crisp, golden roast potatoes and the meal was topped with a big, light & crisp Yorkshire pudding and, as requested, boats of delicious gravy came separately as members of the party require differing amounts. The choice of desserts met all tastes but the homemade ice-cream is definitely something to be recommended. All-in-all, a welcoming, comfortable and efficiently served meal, with no fuss and the feeling we were valued as customers. Excellent!

Set in the depths of the Norfolk countryside sits this lovely little pub. The food was good and plentiful with a quiet atmosphere.

We recently stayed for 4 nights at the White Horse. Made to feel very welcome by Barry and the Staff. Loved Barry's sense of humour. Lovely big room and comfy bed. Great food, and made to feel very welcome by the locals in the bar. What more could you ask for. If we are up this way again from Wales wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Nice country pub with nice meals. Good menu and specials board for OAP. A bit limited if you have a Dairy Intolerance or are celiac. Staff very friendly but landlord a bit moody.

We where staying nearby for a weeks holiday and called in on the Saturday afternoon for a drink, a good choice ofthe ciders and cask beers,mentioned that I liked Adnams Ghost ship the landlord said that he would have it on the bar later in the week so we booked a table for the following Thursday.As there was a gin talk being given to a full house.I had Tai fishcakes and the wife had baked camembert both well cooked and well priced,we both had steaks well cooked just as we requested,both had a desserts .A good end to our holiday,Would I recommend it ,you bet it was like pubs should be,like I remember village pubs ought too.Will I visit again you bet.hope it's not too long .

There was alot of choice a great menu. I had salmon which was delicious and the puddings again a good range of different types lemon pud with custard finished the meal off nicely. Definitely visit again if i was in the area.

Visited this pub again this year it still has a lovely atmosphere with friendly polite staff the food as always is very plentiful and we'll presented at a very reasonable price the conservatory section is away from the main bar for a secluded night not that the pub is noisy it's just peaceful so you feel relaxedThe landlord Barry is very friendly and accomodating and nothing is too much trouble. The pub has a limited amount of rooms to stay in which are spacious and comfortable at a reasonable price.A very nice evening in good company with close friends at a very nice venue.Mr Midge

Used the pub a lot over a few days whilst on a 'home holiday'. Great evening meal for four. The stroganoff was great. 4 good and very different meals served up promptly and hot. Breakfasts were superb. Big enough to go all day. Great work by Barry, Chrissy, Shaun & Jo

Great 4 night stay at the White Horse. Good location in a quiet village in the heart of Norfolk. Off the beaten track but well worth it. Nice comfortable room with a great view across the fields. Maybe could have done with a thinner duvet as was quite warm trying to sleep. Lovely cooked breakfast every morning. Also has a good menu for evening meals. Food was tasty and good portion sizes. Not expensive either. Barry and his team were very welcoming and friendly. Would happily stay here again.

The White Horse is a very good local Pub, but what really sets it apart from the average is the quality of the food - and thereby, the ability of the cook. The pies are to die for; so good the cook could set up a franchise business, should she so wish. By all means have a steak or fish or what catches your fancy, but if you really want something exceptional that you will NOT find in other locals, try there pies.

Fantastic place to stay a little gem ! Friendly & helpful staff especially Barry the landlord and Charleen who served our breakfast each morning with a smile , we received a very warm welcome nothing was to much trouble lovely well equipped room & if you needed anything just needed to ask .The breakfast was delicious as all the food was ,we will definatley be staying here again ! !

Often pay visits to The White Horse with friends and family, always have a good night and enjoy all that is on offer.Card Minimum of £10/£20 on special occasions can sometimes catch you out depending on bar managers mood.

We have stayed at The White Horse many times over the past eight years or so, and when we are in Norfolk we would never stay anywhere else. The rooms are nice, and are kept clean. The food is good and Barry's breakfast is a great start to the day. In the evening it is always enjoyable to spend some time in the bar, where there is a good selection of very well kept real ales (you never get a bad pint here) and good company. Barry ,Chrissy and all of their team take good care over everything including us! Thanks to all at The White Horse see you again soon.

Seems a shame to see a few bad reviews on here for what is a great local pub/restaurant. Great food and a nice atmosphere, sadly missing in this area.The landlord has been here for over 20 years and works very hard to provide a great place to meet, eat and socialise.Been using this hostelry for over 15 years and always found it be superb! To say that locals do no5 use the place is wrong and very defamatory to a great place. Try coming in on a weekday evening or any day over the weekend and you will find locals at the bar and eating as wellAlways events on and lots to do or join in with, don't be put off by those who seem to have an axe to grind. It is a great place and fun to visit, see you in there soon I hope!

Nice pub but run by the most horrible man in Norfolk. Rude, ignorant and acts like a spoilt teenager. Thrives on other people’s mis-fortune such as illness or business problems and spreads any rumour. This would be a very nice pub under new managementVery few of us from the village, or nearby villages would set foot in there while he is there.

Used to visit this pub regularly about three years ago with several friends however the landlord (Barry) made it plain that he didn't want us any more. This was after several years of spending quite large amounts of cash there. We were not a rowdy mob and there was usually 8 or 10 of us with wives. Nobody from the village goes there anymore, they know what a horrible man he is. Could be a great pub but barry needs to go.

Went here on Friday night with friend as had heard it was a good pub. Things started off poorly as the barmaid ignored us at twice to serve other people who were already drinking there. When she did get round to us, I got the wrong drink....but after waiting that long thought better than to complain. Was taken into the "garden room" which was very pleasant. The menu was extensive, took a while to choose. The food came promptly and the waitress was attentive even though she was clearly overworked with most tables sat at but she seemed to be the only one on duty. All of us agreed the food was of a good quality, more than we expected from a pub and ample portions. We decided to have another drink after our meal, another palaver as we were again ignored by the waitress, when we were served (don't know what the barman was doing, he seemed to be busy chatting to locals) she got my friends wife drink wrong, we asked for vodka and coke but think we got a gin. Then when we went to pay, the barman printed out our bill then asked us what we had - we had to rattle off a bit like the generation game. Surely it would have been easier to let us see the bill and question if something was wrong. The barmans bumbling reminded us of Capt mainewaring from dads army. All in all, good food, worth finding out, just a shame the barstaff let them down. Food 5, bar 1, average 3 overall

I was staying very close by, and needed breakfast before a long journey back to Guildford. Classic english breakfast was what I asked for, and that is what I got; sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and fried bread. There was also plenty of toast/butter/marmalade/jam, and tea/coffee and orange juice. There was also a choice of cereals but I did not have these. To be honest, I've stayed in supposedly high quality hotels that have provided a lower quality breakfast than what I had here.The value for money was also very good.I should add that I attended an event here on the previous evening, where a cold buffet was laid on, and this was also most enjoyable.

We had arrived in the area for the bank holiday weekend quite late in the day and were looking for somewhere to eat a decent pub meal. This is definitely not what we got! We ordered the whitebait to start, which is meant to be lightly coated in breadcrumbs - there was more deep fried breadcrumb than there was fish, and it tasted full of grease. We barely touched it. I had the swordfish, which was extremely tough and covered in a sauce that wasn't mentioned on the menu and was absolutely vile. The noodles tasted like they had come out of a packet. My partner had the gammon which wasn't quite as bad but extremely salty (I realise gammon is quite salty but not this bad) Neither of us ate much, and we aren't particularly fussy - plus the bill came to just over £40! Would definitely not recommend eating here, would rather have gone to the shop and got a sandwich.

Had been told this was a good place to eat so gave it a try. Large menu choice not always a good thing, quite a lot of fried food and microwave meals, steaks expensive and plates filled with lots of chips to make up for small portions of main item. One of our meals was not cooked enough and had to be left.rather disappointed on the whole, much better pub food available in this area.

Booked and pre-ordered for our group mid-week. The food was amazing - everyone without exception was delighted with their meal. However, unfortunately little things let them down - surely if you know you have a large party arriving you have more than one (very slow) person on the bar - took half an hour for us all to get a drink and take our seats thus making us late for our afternoon engagement! It also took ages for us to pay - and I was a bit annoyed to hear the landlord moaning to some other customers about "another large party" - don't they want our custom?

There is no nice way to put this review, so basically this is the long and short of it, we thought we would treat mother to a nice afternoon out for a bit of lunch as its her day. The 5star hygiene rating sounded good to us and had heard people say it was a fair place to go. We ordered our dinners and it didn't take to long, not surprisingly though as it seemed to be that most of it had been microwaved, yorky was pretty decent aswell as the meat, but what choked me most is that on one plate alone 3 hairs were found ( I mean how many need to be found to be seen as disgusting and revolting? ). After putting us completely off our dinners and no one managing to finish theirs, something had to be said, so when the older waitress came to take our plates we quietly and politely had a word in her ear, to which she replied "I shall go have a word with the chef" that was it though, no apology, no return to say anything to us, just walks past as if nothing had been said and carries on, not even any mention of a discount or refund, nothing !!Needless to say customer satisfaction is poor and we shan't be going back there in a hurry, shame really, as a whiskey lover they seemed to have a very good selection on the shelves, but not good enough to bring me back.

Stayed here in the family room with my wife and 2 boys. Room well kept and warm, great value for money. The Landlord very welcoming, great breakfast, basically whatever you wanted was on the breakfast menu. Definitely would stay again if in the area.

We moved away from the area over a year ago, and should have written this review a long time ago. We paid visits pretty much every week and always enjoyed fresh and well cooked food, a good pint of Wherry (if Barry was feeling warm hearted) and a friendly welcome. Can't recommend it enough, a proper good night out.

Regularly eat here. The food is always great, they have a policy where, if there does happen to be a slight problem, you get a replacement meal. Great idea. Service is good 99 times out of 100. Interior of the conservatory is perhaps a little dated but compared to other local pubs the food is definitely good enough to ignore the old style flock carpet and pink ruffled fabric! Always clean too which is a thumbs up from me. Will visit again soon.
