This visit was for a family occasion, buffet was plentiful with both hot and cold food. All well presented and tasty . Well ran in the function room .

Visited here Tuesday lunch. Found this to be Tuesday £12 special. The food was excellent service great. Decor lovely. Good all round place.

Birthday celebration at the Crowne, a varied and interesting Tuesday night menu. Food delicious and plentiful , clearly a top chef in the kitchen. First visit to this lovely and friendly village inn, other establishments recently visited should take a look at how it should be done !

We were camping down the road and as it was the nearest pub to the site we popped in for a drink. Well that turned into more than one drink and more than one visit. We were treated like locals, welcomed very warmly and by the end of our week we felt like we had been going to this pub all of our lives. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and so warm. We ate there three times and all three meals were of a fantastic standard and the portions were huge, amazing value for money. I cannot recommend a visit to The Crown enough, especially if you have dogs, it is the most amazingly welcoming pub for dogs as well, well behaved ones of course.

Very rude owner when complained about food 11 of us were told to vote with our feet!! ..... so we did.

Lovely looking restaurant, clean with very tasty food. My husband had the rib eye, I had the chicken supreme and my son had the wagu burger. All cooked really well and good portions. Fries and chips all crispy and tasty. We has desserts of biscoff cheesecake- amazing and creme brulee- nice though could have been a bit lighter. All in all a lovely place and we'd definitely return. Only minor niggle was being asked for our drinks order before we'd even managed to sit down to start with which felt a little rushed. After that the service went to a nice pace. Staff were friendly. Would recommend.

Amazing little pub. We came here for a bite to eat on a Friday evening. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub it's self was lovely. But when we ordered the food, WOW amazing. 100% the best pub food we have eaten in a long, long time. Good size portions and the quality of the food was fantastic. Very well played out on the plate. And the flavours amazing. Will be back again in September when we visit again

Best Sunday roast I've had for a long time. First class food and service. It's been the 3rd or 4th visit here and best to date. The pork was amazing, Excellent chef. 5 stars

First visit with a friend who had recently been and said it was good. Tuesday appears to be a set price of £12 for a good choice of main courses. I had the pork belly bite mushroom stroganoff, it was delicious! The pork belly was very tender, lots of mushrooms and all very tasty. Lovely rice, green beans and leeks. The staff were young and smiley. They can clearly accommodate quite a lot of diners and it has a lovely patio and grass area outside, perfect for sunny days. Will definitely go back.

Wonderful local pub. Very polite and helpful staff. Good drinks and reasonably priced. Food is delicious and served with care and top presentation. Large garden ,with a dog friendly area, various sizes of tables, and comfy sits with cushions. 1 min drive off the main road, large parking available. Very nice and friendly atmosphere. Toilets are clean and quite modern for a local village pub. Large function room available also. Crown sits right at the top of all the "local" pubs I have visited, so far.

Lovely food and decor but oh my , what clientele. We were hoping for a lovely dinner only to suffer loud locals who obviously couldn’t hold their drink . Fowl language ensued and a fight almost broke out. The Three young ladies behind the bar had no idea how to handle the situation. The part of the restaurant we were in consisting of two couples and group of 4 middle aged people and a group of six with a four month old baby. The staff didn’t seem to care about the affect this bad behaviour was having on the decent people spending good money for a night out. Disgusting. We won’t be returning or recommending.

It was midweek so the pub was very quiet hence the lack of atmosphere. The staff were lovely and chatty. The bar staff are always great, hard to get an atmosphere in an almost empty pub.

We had an excellent meal we found the crown to be comfortable and dog friendly food of good quality staff friendly Thank you to them for an enjoyable evening meal

Been here many time and always look forward to going as I know the larger is cooled the wine selection is good and changing and the meals are top notch and we eat out 10/12 times a month so not said lightly Good atmosphere.the staff are learning :) .

First time visiting this pub for a birthday celebration meal. First impressions was that it was nice and warm. The bar area is a little dull, but down the steps to the tables and it was like being in a different place. Nice decor, comfortable seats and tables that don’t harbour bits of dropped food in the cracks. Big tick right there! The food was good as was the service, although they could have been a little more attentive at the end of the meal as we had to go up to the bar for more drinks and to ask for the bill. What we found very impressive was the condition of all their glasses used for drinks. They were immaculately clean and polished. Very enjoyable evening and we will return another time. Sadly forgot to take any pictures.

Excellent food and service, despite being very busy.

We visited mid week for a family wake. Lovely location with plenty of parking. We were greeted with a friendly smile and directed through to the back room, We had self serve unlimited tea / coffee, with access to the bar for cold drinks. Food wise we had a Buffett of warm sausage rolls (delicious) and a large array of yummy homemade cakes as requested, including vegan options. Staff were respectful of it being a wake and allowed us to have the space as long as needed. Nice relaxed environment and gave family / friends time to mix , mingle and remember a loved friend / family member.

Visited for the first time in several years this week and was very impressed. Friendly staff lovely atmosphere and tasty food. Would def visit again.

A big thank you for hosting us for my grandmothers wake on Wednesday. Every step of the way your staff were friendly and helpful especially in accommodating our request to reduce your set menu. The food was lovely with an amazing range of homemade cakes including Vegan ones and the warm sausage plait and rolls were mouth watering. I attended a funeral tea at The Crown this week, amazing sausage rolls and beautiful cakes, all homemade and absolutely delicious! The service was spot on, discreet but attentive.

Went for a wake after a friends funeral and found the food disappointing. Some sausage rolls were good, the others looked as they had been frozen, from a packet and then cooked. Hot water urn with cups and tea bags, to help yourself, no service from the staff, very poor. The plates were in short supply when it came to the cakes. The soft drinks seemed expensive. What an opportunity for the Crown to impress and get revisits for further trade, seems to be an opportunity missed. Having been here for a meal before, which was poor then, we won’t be rushing back.

Great staff & service, excellent food !!

We live in the next village, but the Crown is our local. We drink here pretty much weekly. We eat here sporadically, but often wonder why we don't do so more often. Great Christmas fare. The usual attentive and cheerful service.

We had Christmas dinner there this year. The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we are already planning to book next year. P

Great pub, atmosphere and ambiance. 100% unpretentious. We have been here countless times in fact we've just come back from Sunday lunch yet again !!!. All the food (not forgetting the wine) we have had here have been amazing, we are just sooo glad they haven't got rooms because we would end up living there although we only live 5 miles away. Booked 2 days before as visiting family last minute plans. Sunday Roast was very nicely presented with a good selection of vegetables gravy and condiments. We had 2 courses the Lemon Meringue wasn't up to standard as the meringue was like mallow. However the Creme Brulé was gorgeous. Will go back just not for meringue!

They held a retirement party for us for around 35 people, they were all very helpful, lovely staff. Great food and service. A great area for functions at the back too. The pub itself is lovely too.

Another great evening @ The Crown! Great customer service from booking onwards. Food delicious across x4 starters and mains. Cannot recommend highly enough and can't wait to visit again soon. Lucky to be local! :)

Hi I would just like to say that this place is amazing the bar staff are second to none they are beautiful,friendly and willing to help out as much as they can and the chef here is also second to none I've enjoyed the food so much that if it is within 20 miles of my digs then I will be travelling to get here . If you are passing pop in I just had a catsu curry which was amazing but I really do recommend the Asian pork, it was mind blowing . Thank you for reading and enjoy meal I know I did

Just marvellous. Unpretentious and welcoming (but still smart and well presented). This place is a joy to go to. Accommodating for families, easygoing, professional. Staff were friendly. Prices were good. Local beer delicious… But the food?! My goodness. So hearty. Great range on the menu. Satisfying. Flavoursome. Well presented. The gentleman I met who runs the kitchen appears to be a modest fellow. He is a superstar. Our favourite pub/restaurant to eat in on a Norfolk holiday. Thank you team.

I went for the Lamb shank, which was very large and absolutely delicious too. The prices were reasonable for the quality. Perfect dinner and we all enjoyed it! Thanks.

I don’t usually write bad reviews and would normally just not go back if I have a bad experience but non of the staff there could care less that we were dissatisfied with our meal so I think I need to share our experience We were quite excited to see a good menu with fairly high price meals as we really don’t mind paying for a quality experience and good food. However when the food arrived we realised we were in for a disappointing meal. The food was misdescribed so what you think you are getting is far from what you end up with. When I complained I felt they were quite condescending and were not apologetic at all so we ate as much of the sub standard food as we could manage and paid in full and left. They need to either lower their prices or cook food that lives up to expectations. We won’t go back or recommend anyone to visit this place. I can see they don’t respond to complaints even on here so I’m guessing they will just carry on charging you all high prices for low value meals as long as they can get away with it

The Crown are currently running a £12 Tuesday promotion with a choice of main courses for £12. Starters/desserts £6 each. We went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal. I had pork belly served with toasted potatoes, cauliflower cheeses, carrots cabbage gravy and topped with a Yorkshire pudding- a great plate of food for £12. The star of the show was a seasonal gooseberry fool served with a shortbread biscuit. There are also various discounts on drinks which makes this a lovely mid week treat. Definitely returning .

Been working my way around the pubs trying out their Sunday lunches. The crown is definitely up there with the best. Generous portions, perfectly cooked and a great size kids roast too. The only little snag was we had to ask for more gravy, but...

This is a very good country pub, lovely balance of locals having a beer at the bar and people dining. Food is superb, bill was small.

Very disappointed with the standard of the food. My wife and I ate there last night with another couple and the ribs that my wife and her friend ordered were inedible. It was basically a plate of fat. I ordered a chicken burger, as did my wife's friend's husband, and both were overcooked. I requested no coleslaw, and when the meals arrived neither of us had coleslaw, and when we queried this the waitress said it didn't look very nice so didn't give it either of us. My wife's friend's ribs were not served at the same time as my wife's as they said it had fallen on the floor! They did arrive a couple of minutes later though, so they obviously had more ready to go (I hope). The mash was lumpy, and as my wife ordered new potatoes she was served a plate of undercooked green potatoes. As I said the ribs were cold and inedible, and we refused to pay for them. We did pay for the burgers grudgingly, but it is not an experience we will be repeating.

I love this pub. The atmosphere is great, the food excellent, the staff friendly. In the winter there is a roaring fire and the garden and patio in the sunshine make it a great place to relax with friends. Plus it's totally dog friendly.

There was a group of 11 adults and 2 children. The service was prompt, accurate and polite. The food was very good in fact excellent. Ambiance in the pub was also very nice and at at a reasonable price. A slightly limited menu but what...

Great service, there were 6 of us for dinner and everything was delivered to our table at the perfect pace. The roast beef was perfectly cooked (if you like it slightly pink - as we do). Good sized portions on all plates. Great value for money. Cheers guys!

We had, sadly, a very disappointing experience here 😔 We had high hopes, and had heard very good things, but unfortunately we won't return. The food was excellent, no complaints at all, but the service was abysmal. We were seated for nearly 20 minutes before a server reluctantly came over, after I had made eye contact. She gave a little eye-roll to announce her irritation. Once we had had our mains, there was another delay. A different server came to ask if we wanted pudding, but left without taking our order as we still hadn't had our plates cleared. Another person then cleared our plates, but still no return of a server to take our pudding requests. After another 10 minutes or so, I did politely ask Miss Eye Roll if we could order pudding. She replied, yes I'll be there in a minute. She didn't return. Finally finally yet another server came, and we completed our meal. Such a shame ☹️

Absolutely delicious. If you're gluten free this is a dream, there was one main meal, ONE, that wasn't gluten free or able to be made gluten free. For then first time in a very long time, I was spoilt for choice. Service was great, food was fantastic. Will definitely come again!

a friendly landlord and excellent staff who coped well with us , were well prepared and food no one had issues with . Well, the sticky toffee pudding was not to hot but this was instantly remedied so not a deal breaker. Good wines

We met and came together as Caston Art Club, this was our annual lunch, some 14 of us made it. We were made to feel very welcome nothing was too much trouble, despite a very busy bar and the other rooms hosting wakes our food...
