The Long Bar in Torbay

Mostly a locals bar as that's their mainstay, but catering for tourists also as it's next to the car park and bus terminal. Nice atmosphere, decor and a decent pint.

One visit turned into several over a week. Very pleasant. great music. BINGO on Wednesday. Had fun and would certainly visit again

Nice beer, not bad prices and a initially a convivial atmosphere. It was quite rowdy and on both nights (gave it a second go) and there wasn't ten people in there. Smokers lingering too near the door make the no smoking rule a joke.

Will definitely go back really friendly landlord/staff and customers had an absolutely brilliant afternoon

No one behind the bar then a man appeared from a rowdy table not the most profffessional of people regarding virus rules etc seemed pissed n eager to get back to his table most defo not return stay clear

What a friendly local pub. All the present safety measures were, in the main, adhered to. Drinks a bit more than at home but not over the top. Great music channel on the tv’s. Outside chairs available.

Interesting mixed reviews previously - and I can understand why. Sitting where it does, this boozer - and I use that word because that is what it fundamentally is - has its regulars who live and work in the area, but also has to deal with the annual influx of visitors who don't necessarily tune-in to their environment. Personally, I thought it was very good - a boozer serving exactly what we wanted with no pretentious pandering. Prices are realistic. If you want a British boozer where you can get a pint at the bar this is for you. Of course, due to Covid-19 you won't be allowed to actually lean on the bar, but you can imagine it ...

We were passing by from the car park to he high street and poked our heads around to see what it was like inside. It was a bit like a Tardis and was clearly very much a local pub. The locals inside were very welcoming.

Saw previous reviews but after spending several nights in this great little traditional cornish pub have to say couldn't be more wrong. Great crowd of locals service and craic. Would highly recommend to anyway down Brixham way wanting to spend a great night with fun warm people

Been in this pub 5 times 5 different times with different people and every time I go in there get a accused of all sorts have staff giving you dirty looks even tho you buying drinks and minding your own business sounds like lies but it ain’t don’t go here owners head right up there own end worst pub I’ve ever been in hands down only go long bar if you want to have a rubbish night 🙏and I’m a local trust me total rubbish do not go here stay far away 🙏

This place is discussing the staff are rude, the music is form the 70s and the owners are pure aggressive discriminating peasants. Cheap drinks but does not make up for the absolute awful experience and disrespect! Won’t recommend this crap hole to my worst enemy! 💩

This is a real adults pub. Strictly run, no kids or bad behaviour. Ideal and wonderful place for a drink. Local regulars, great staff, love it.

Had a nice drink in here. Very quirky type of pub with an old courtyard leading to toilets so quite old but I like that about it. Staff were friendly had a laugh and a joke with us so yes I would go back ..

Very friendly and made feel very wel come. Will be back in the summer. Would be great to get fresh crab sandwiches to go with the beer.

I have always felt an affinity with the long bar. close to car park and bus station. over the years it got quiet but we still went in there. today we went in and the barmaid started talking to her mother whilst serving us which made things a bit diff but ok these things hap. When my glass was empty I went to the bar she had her head down playing with her phone, I tapped my glass on the bar she lifted her head up then resumed playing I then tapped my glass louder on the bar and I got served. I was told that I was rude, that I should have called for her. How do I call to address a stranger. I was offended by her attitude I shall not be going there again

Called in for a drink at this friendly locals pub. It is not a big pub but has a dartboard and a pool table. Good old fashioned pub atmosphere. Prices reasonable.

Nice pub. Good beer and friendly service. Mainly locals when I visited. Good location not far from the bus stand and car park.

Barman atendieron y mis amigos como suciedad, no se molestaba en hablar con nosotros como seres humanos sólo nos gritó cuando intentamos salir y dieron con mi otra mitad polémica. Indignado por el servicio y no lo recomendaría. Era mi cumpleaños y él casi arruinó mi noche!

On a resent visit to the lovely fishing port of Brixham we looked for a good pub to have a beer in, and found the Long Bar. This is a nice friendly place with a great atmosphere

La 'barra' está cerca del parque de coches puerto y es exactamente como se describe, una barra larga. Es un pub básico que no parece que haga un gran esfuerzo para ser "mercado"; cuando yo fui había sólo unos pocos vecinos. La cerveza era feo, pero no es emocionante y probablemente no me molestaría en visitar de nuevo. Le doy una puntuación de 2,5 si el sistema permite.

Llamado en el festival de piratas. gente amable y el personal del bar con un pequeño Blues Band tocando el viernes por la noche. Entiendo que la música en vivo el viernes es una ocurrencia regular

Bien para una pinta sencilla. No se permiten niños, así que puede ser atractivo para algunos. Nos sentimos como a los lugareños muy pub pero todavía cálido servicio y la cerveza es barata y bien. No tomar mi madre aquí, pero solo para ver un partido es más que aceptable

Strange little place, not a place to dress up to go to but the drinks were cheap and it is in the centre of town. We went after a lovely fish dinner

In search of good local ale, I enjoyed two very good and totally different local ales along with a good chat with a couple of locals and the publican. The pub is privately owned, clean, pleasant and popular with Devonians. Highly recommended!

Pub was fine but they don't accept Scottish money and the barman did not know why he couldn't accept my money . So I would be very grateful if the owners could tell me why Scottish money is not acceptable.

We found the longbar very welcoming, good service, good beer, good music. A propper local. Well behaved dogs are welcome and children can go in until 7pm. Will be making a return visit next time .

a locals haunt, friendly, good laugh, and no 'tinsel' (i.e not a 'plastic' pub !! )well worth a visit.
