This was my first visit to the London Inn following a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. The pub is spacious with a good beer garden, the staff are friendly and the Sunday lunch carvery was great with a good selection of food and extremely good value . This pub certainly deserves your support.

I visited the London Inn on the second day of our lockdown re the virus situation in this country. With the legal options that the government has currently imposed, Sarah, Mark and Simon have adapted the pub to accommodate a local takeaway for freshly made food for the community based on Simon's great country style menu with fresh ingredients from mainly local suppliers. They also offer the traditional old jug and bottle style takeaway for their good beer and cider range (take your own container) This team is trying hard to provide a service in their community at this time. Many country pubs will not survive this current crisis. I think now is the time to support local efforts like this or we could lose the local village pub.

Five friends spent the evening in this pub, booked for an evening meal. All chose something different and all our meals were delicious. Plates were hot, food cooked to our taste and the Steak and Ale pie, that I chose, was one of the best tasting pie that I have ever experienced. The pub was very busy and the lady was rushed of her feet serving but she made time to ensure our meals were satisfactory. The Kit Kat cheesecake was not to our liking but that is a personal thing. Will definitely be visiting this estabishment again.

A really warm welcome from the owners, staff and the locals. Followed by a fabulous Sunday carvery. Two tasty succulent meats and an amazing array of vegetables, topped off with a super gravy. As others have said, nothing pretentious about the pub, just friendly service and great food, all at a very reasonable price - what more can you ask for! Note:it's popular, for obvious reasons, so best to book.

Had time to kill so went in to see if we could get a cup of tea.No problem, Nice pots of tea for two with proper cups and saucers plus two chocolate biscuits (wrapped). All for the princely sum of £1.75 each ! Marvellous and so was the service. I wish that we had time for a meal because I'm sure it would have been just as good.

Live close by we go to the pub as often as we can especially on a Sunday their roast is the nearest thing to home cooked!! Sarah, Mark & Simon are always very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere & very good value for money as are all their meals. Lovely beer garden too 👍

We were staying locally so wanted to try out the local pub. In contrast to do many places in our home area (the Cotswolds) this has not gone minimalist decor & gastro menu with prices to match. As soon as we walked in we got a wide smile and welcome from the owner. Drinks are very reasonably priced including local ales, and the food menu is also terrific value, with very generous portions. There’s a midweek offer on their pizzas which is even better value. It’s unpretentious and friendly. Just what we were looking for!

This was a Sunday lunch at a pub never visited before. Family had moved in to area so to save them time as they still had not unpacked we went to the local pub for lunch. It was bright cheerful and busy, friendly welcome, there was a blackboard menu but we choose the carvery. Choice of two meats Beef or Turkey. Eight yes Eight vegs to help yourself from plus Yorkshire puds. Very well cooked both meats moist and good size servings. The price was also excellent under £10 a head. We will go again and try some of theother dishes.

Third visit. Good value pub food of excellent quality. Sadly only us four and 2 others dining, deserves to be much busier, it's quite a distance from where I live but my son is closer but we'll worth the trip. As always, the staff very happy and friendly. We will be back.

On a short visit to the local area we popped in for a few beers primarily to watch a football match ( Wolves v Derby ). Unsure what to expect, we were made to feel very welcome by the locals and the fantastic bar staff. A great place for a game of darts, a decent pint, natter with the locals and to watch the footy on Sky TV. Thanks for making us feel so welcome! Will definitely return and would highly recommend!

We have just enjoyed the Sunday lunchtime carvery, having stopped off on the offchance and knowing nothing about the place.Despite the fact that they were fully booked for lunches, they made us feel very welcome and laid up an extra table for us at the side. They allowed us to bring our dog, too. The carvery was brilliant - plenty of beautifully cooked meat, and all sorts of other vegs that you don't normally get - peppers with onions and tomatoes, cabbage with sausages, roasties with shallots - besides all the regular old favourites. The atmosphere in the pub was of a good friendly local, with pool and drinks at the bar besides the restaurant tables - all very sociable and jolly. We'll definitely be back - maybe book next time ! Thanks to all.

Second visit, yet again first class. My wife and granddaughter had prawn cocktails which were more like a prawn salad I had chicken goujons which were very filling. My son declined a starter as he said they were very large, they were! Two of us had chicken burgers which were thick slices of breast with bacon and cheese, chips and salad. Wife had faggots and grandaughter had scampi. Desserts were very reasonably priced at 3.75 ad the two that had them yet again had large portions. All food was of good quality served hot with friendly young staff.

The London Inn from the outside is the plainest, most boring looking pub you could imagine. Inside it is quirky, friendly, and fun. I judge pub food by their fish, and last night I had excellent fresh cod, which was more acquainted with the sea than the freezer. Generous portions with friendly service from a young staff who would not have been out of place in a more prestigious hostelry

Been here quite a few times for functions and really like the pub so have started frequenting for the occasional night out. I'm not very local but the pub is welcoming. Some evenings are very quiet so I try to come for the live music nights which have a good crowd and quality bands. They generally have a couple of real ales on draught including Doom Bar which is served well. Friendly efficient bar staff are attentive and ensure the drinks keep flowing. The food is normally the standard pub menu offerings but are well cooked, large portions offering good value, however come on one of their monthly curry nights and you won't be disappointed! Various Indian dishes including several curries, rice, bread and all the usual sides served buffet style and you can eat as much as you like. They usually have a band on these nights too. Situated in Othery rather than Bridgwater as TA suggests. Parking to the side and a garden to the rear.

My wife and I are staying just 1 mile from here on holiday and thought it would be rude not to visit. Very friendly staff. Nice cold beer & fantastic food. We both ordered fish & chips / massive fish & tons of chips / both cooked to perfection & presented beautifully. Even though we were really full we ordered deserts to take home / these were really great as well. Great pub / we will certainly be back !

Only started three weeks ago this tiny pub packs a punch with Sundays roasts. A carvery with two roasts on offer [turkey and beef on our visit ] the star of the show is undoubtedly the vegetable selection. For a very reasonable £7.50 a head you can reserve a table in their 20 seat restaurant and enjoy a scrummy mixture of freshly cooked meats, Yorkshire pudding, roast and new potatoes and 9 different [yes 9 different vegetables.] I managed to cram leeks in white sauce, fresh cabbage, ratatouille, picked red cabbage, peas, carrots and mashed swede onto my plate. I followed this with sticky toffee pudding - not sure of the price as my friends paid for that. A lovely lovely sunday meal. Reservations are taken up till 1pm. Go and enjoy before the world discovers it. This is an English pub as it should be.- buried in the midst of the Somerset levels - Othery means other island, and only 7 miles from Bridgewater or 4 from Langport. Lucky locals!

It’s not often that I find a cup cake almost as good as when I make them myself, but the cupcakes we purchased were great, fresh, filled and nice amount of topping. Loved the theatre of the cakes being made in the shop. Would almost say as good as magnolia’s in New York

A go to pub in the centre of Bridgwater that has retained a lot of character but still feels well maintained and well run. No loud music or distracting TV screens and a good range of drinks.

The pub is closed due to a lengthy refurb, but there is a cafe in the smokery next door run by the same family. We enjoyed a platter of smoked seafood made on-site for lunch. It was seriously good, with some clever tastes. The Salmon was just brilliant. We bought some in the Deli to take home. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I came here to The Cottage a few weeks ago on his bike. It's a gem of a bar in the lush hills with great service minded staff. Very good music for a nice chill. I think this might be our new favorite pub! See you soon.
