Called in for Breakfast with family, we haven't been for a while as we live out of the area. Staff were welcoming, ordered 3 breakfasts all I managed to eat on kine was the scrambled egg and bacon.. The sausage was warm and possibly been cooked and just reheated, th mushrooms looked like they hadn't been cooked at all the black pudding was raw, for £43 I expected better only 1 out of our group of 3 ate it all.. Always pop in when we are visiting but I won't be having food if we come again I'll stick with the coffee and cake.

I’ll start off with the positives, the staff seem to be working very hard, the aesthetics are lovely. Now for the negatives the panini were dire, just warmed up baguettes with lack of filling and they weren’t cheap. Unfortunately we will not be back!!!

It was fairly busy on a Saturday morning but I think that a 45 minute wait for a couple of bagels is ridiculous. When the bagels did arrive they were slightly warm on the inside but totally uncooked on the inside and so were very doughy to eat. Won’t be back !

The Loft is upstairs inside a wonderful name shop, Grandad's Shed! It is worth looking around the shop as there are some lovely accessories as well as furniture. Afterwards pop upstairs to The Loft. We stopped for morning coffee. My wife's Filter Coffee was just as she likes it and my Cappucchino was delicious. We both used the facilities and found them both to be spotless without any odours. The sound lady who served us was well presented, efficient and very friendly.

We visited The Loft today while visiting Brigg. We booked in a few days before. The loft is situated through the shop Grandad’s shed and upstairs. There didn’t seem a lift so would be difficult for those with mobility issues or buggies. On climbing the stairs you are met with friendly staff that show you to your seat. There is hand sanitiser on entering the restaurant. Our table was near to the counter but clean and tidy. We were given our menu including a children’s meal menu. We looked these over for a few moments. Our drink and food orders were then taken and payment taken. We ordered two small cooked breakfasts and a children’s sandwich meal with waffle and ice cream dessert. Our food took around fifteen/twenty minutes to arrive. The food looked very rustic and I liked the look of the whole cooked tomato. My daughter’s sandwiches looked very good with quality ham. I did giggle at the wotsits on the side but she didn’t mind at all and was munching merrily. Our breakfasts were particularly tasty with delicious sausages and bacon. They seemed like butcher quality meat. The bacon was thick and Lincolnshire sausage full of flavour. The staff were so helpful when (to my horror) the littlest spilt her drink. We used the bathroom while visiting which was one cubicle with a basin. This was clean and tidy with no issues. We would definitely recommend a visit to the loft. I had wished that I’d tried the cakes as they looked wonderful. All in all a lovely lunch.

Order taken at 12-57. still waiting at 13-35. Other customers served with food, who had come in after us. Food arrived. This was Hickory chicken, with salad, potato wedges, and coleslaw. Potato was stone cold. Chicken tried, cold outer, barely warm inside. Obviously prepared and left, before being picked up and served. Been here twice before, and no complaints. Called the waitress. She apologised, offered a voucher, but we chose a refund. Chairs were dirty. Another couple came in, looked at the table and chairs, and walked out. Certainly will not return, even after seeing reviews with 5 stars !!!!

We visit regularly and the food is good quality English food. When we arrived the restaurant was busy and we were told it was a 20 minute wait on food - so we chose steak pie from specials board to keep it easy. Unfortunately after we ordered a party arrived who had obviously prebooked and took priority. We had no more communication and the food eventually arrived after 40 minutes which is unacceptable. There barely an apology and no offer of fresh drinks as ours were finished long ago. Better communication is needed on wait times as we would have gone elsewhere and will do in the future.

Hidden in the middle of Brigg was this 'Loft' - very suitably named as you needed to walk through a wonderful furniture and dressings shop to reach it by climbing some stairs. (You will be tempted to spend money here before you eat!) It was very busy - and even busier on market days. (it is a good idea to book if you need a table for any specific time or number of people). The menu, which included daily specials, was wolesome, freshly cooked and the portions were suitable for the hungriest of appetites. Staff were helpful, attentive and very hard-working. The facilities were limited though, and there was a regular queue.

We have been to this restaurant before and have been satisfied with the food and service. However, my husband and I went today and the food was decidedly average. We had cottage pie with vegetables. The cottage pie had clearly been in the microwave - it was so hot it burnt your mouth and it was short of meat. The vegetables looked very nice on the plate - carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Of the three, the carrots were cooked about right. The broccoli was closer to raw than cooked but the cauliflower was inedible - it was so raw it required a pairing knife to cut it, rather than a table knife. We obviously weren't the only people with this problem - a couple on an adjacent table had also left all of the cauliflower and quite a lot of the broccoli. We don't like overcooked vegetables but neither do we like to eat them raw with a cooked meal. Sadly, based on today's experience, I think this is somewhere we will not be visiting again.

I think Donald Trump would have to check his account before making a purchase...Waste of space, food very basic, atmosphere stale, staff rude, owner (the one which looks like the grinch) very rude.If I were you I'd try another of the many coffee shops in Brigg. I have tried most but the best for me is Costa. Local cafe owners say Costa has taken lots of there business well my advice is, stop moaning, make customers feel welcome, have good coffee at a reasonable price.Makes sense to me...Back to the loft, well I wouldn't waste my time or money.Merry Christmas x

We have started going here for breakfast on Saturday mornings now after sampling everywhere else in Brigg over the last year. The interior has been recently refurbished which greatly improves the atmosphere. There are numerous breakfast choices at varying prices, but we enjoy the traditional breakfast and salmon and scrambled egg. With a latte and orange juice the price was £13 which is comparable to the other places. It is normally fairly busy and the all female front of house staff are pleasant and efficient. It will always suffer from being up a steep narrow staircase which will prohibit access for some, but I recommend you give it a try again if you've not been for a while which we hadn't.

Popped here at lunchtime for a snack with my wife and daughter as we'd been here before and liked it but that was a few years ago. Anyway I'm going to keep this short, no chips or veg left to go with the pie of the day which was my first choice so I had the breakfast instead, no chicken left which was what my daughter wanted so she had a tuna and cheese panini and my wife had ham with egg, the coffee cup my wife got her CL cappuccino in was dirty on the side, my breakfast was very average, the menu said you could have your eggs poached, scrambled or fried and I wasn't asked how I wanted them and the toast was luke warm at best. Daughter liked her panini but it's hard to get that wrong and the rabbit food on the side looked pretty tired and my wife enjoyed her ham and egg. Overall pretty disappointing and won't be going back anytime soon when there are cheaper and better alternatives in the area, I got the impression they were just going through the motions today and this place used to be better than that, shame

The place looks quite nice with good chairs but then things didnt quite live up to expectations. Our order was taken by an awkward looking girl who barely spoke. Our cups of tea were given to us but the tiniest bit of milk in a jug which wasnt enough for one, let alone two. Stright away i needed to ask for more. I ordered a brie and cranberry panini, the whole time waiting i had the awkward looking waitress looking at me. (this made conversation between ourselves awkward) my lunch arrived. It in fact wasnt brie.... It was goats cheese...they dont even have the same texture, so I'm unsure how they got it wrong.... I indicated that it was wrong by saying out loud this isnt brie, and the awkward waitress just walked away. Fortunately i dont dislike goats cheese. So i ate it. I shall not return

not for the first time have I ordered a double espresso and been served with tepid or Luke warm coffee. I asked for it to be heated and was told that it was hot. I have this type of coffee elsewhere in Brigg and never have a problem. As a coffee drinker I know when something is hot or lukewarm. I actually left the coffee and do not think that Zibwill be returning which is a shame as I love going into Grandad's Shed.

We went here for lunch for the first time today on a rainy Saturday. The restaurant is upstairs above the Grandad's Shed furniture shop and a lot of locals therefore know it as Grandad's Shed. If you enter from the front you have to walk all the way to the back of the furniture shop, but there is a rear entrance which takes you straight up the stairs. Upstairs it was fairly busy, but not at capacity. The system is that you sit at your table, choose what you want and then order it at the till. The menu had a good selection of snacks and lunches and there was a specials board. They serve a variety of drinks and bottled alcohol with food. We chose a hickory chicken from the main menu and a spicy chickpea falafel wrap from the specials board. Including drinks we paid £17 for two of us. There was quite a wait before it was served, but we didn't mind that. Each plate had plenty on it as well. We enjoyed the food and it was perfectly adequate for the price, but not special. The servers were mainly young women who all seemed pleasant. We overheard a neighbouring table ask for gluten free bread and one of the staff went out to buy some especially. They also answered other specific ingredients questions from the same table. We didn't try the homemade cakes and puddings as the main course was plenty enough for us, but these were also on offer.

Visited today and was highly let down! There was sweat like condensation dripping down the windows, the air was humid and un-breathable. I left my lukewarm coffee and horrible sandwich half eaten for some fresh air.

The Loft cafe is easy to reach from both car park & high street entrances. It is set above an Oak & Pine style furniture shop. No lift is it's only downfall for elderly or disabled, so not wheelchair friendly. However, it is pleasant & bright inside. Staff very obliging. Meals are of a good standard & the Scrambled Eggs on Toast were some of the best my wife has ever eaten in a cafe/restaurant.

Popped in with friends for mid morning lite bite, have visited on previous trips to Brigg a small town in North Lincolnshire and always found this cafe a cosy retreat to while away some time and enjoy a relaxing coffee. Whilst the Loft is a little basic, it is clean, friendly with good service and has a varied menu selection. It caters for those who require either a full lunch or something less substantial in all The Loft does what one would expect from a no frills establishment.

I have been going to this cafe for quite sometime and would never give it top marks. The staff can be a bit surly and in all my time going there only one has ever interacted with me.(why do people do these types of jobs if they do not like dealing with people) which does make a difference. Todays visit was poor, my tea tasted like hot water it was so weak (I think they have changed to cheaper tea ) and the cup was not clean. My food when it arrived tasted fine but the portion was small and it was served on a side plate, so it proved hard to position items on plate to eat without it going on the table. People all around me were moaning because they were waiting ages for their food to come and it was far too hot to be comfortable. Place does have air con but they did not have it on. If this slide in service continues I shall be going elsewhere.

After a walk around Brigg market we decided on something to eat. There was a good choice of cafés and restaurants in the town centre but we chose The Loft and ordered two "full English" breakfasts. The place admittedly was very busy, however, the Cutlery was not clean, the portion (for the price we paid) was very small. One four inch sausage. One rasher of bacon, one tomato (undercooked), one large mushroom (VERY undercooked! - to the extent that we think that this was the only cause of a stomach upset later in the day), One desert spoon of beans, one slice of toast with butter that had melted and an egg either on overlooked yolk and runny white! My wife chose poached egg, and I chose fried. When if arrived they gave my rife the fried egg without even asking which annoyed my wife as she feels uncomfortable with her weight.Small meal and a coffee for over £12 ...no way, we will not visit here again!

For friendly service, good value and choice The Loft deserves a visit. There is always a busy buzz and I always feel comfortable either alone or with friends for a coffee and a big piece of their lovely homemade cake, the coffee and walnut is really good. For a tasty homecooked lunch in Brigg The Loft is always my first choice and I've had everything from cheese on toast and a bacon butty to one of their hearty steak pies or sausage and mash, not to forget the puddings and the variety of coffees - I usually have the cappuccino which is lovely and hot served with a biscuit plus I always ask for a glass of tapwater which the staff are happy to serve free of charge.I went this week with my daughter, we both had a toasted panini with salad and coffee and the bill was around £11 in total - very good value i think! Keep up the good work, we will be returning :)

I use the Loft frequently - the reason being that it is without question the best value , well prepared and served food for miles around ! The staff are extremely pleasant and very efficient . Who wouldn't expect to wait when it is obviously busy ? The food is always well presented and plentiful with a varied set menu and a regularly changed " Specials Board " . I've recommended this restaurant to many of my friends who have all thanked me and have spoken well about their meals at the Loft .

My favourite place in Brigg!!!! The Loft is like a home away from home. My partner and I don't eat out unless the food is exceptional as my partner doesn't see the point in spending money on a meal that most of the time I can cook better at home! (his own words!!) and I myself have very high standards but I would happily go back to the Loft time after time, The food was lovely, honestly priced and the staff treated us like family! Would recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed, even during a busy period (which it was when we visited) as many places can not cope with lots of costumers but at The Loft the staff met the pressure of a busy restaurant head on and the quality of food did not suffer as a result. Cant wait for the next visit!!

Have visited on a number of occasions and always enjoyed the food. Last time was for a hearty lunch with the family after a busy morning. Plenty of delicious food. Staff are always friendly. Although it was busy we didn't wait long for our food. We'll be back again.

I have been to The Loft many times in the past mainly for lunch and have always found the service from all the staff very friendly. The proceedure of paying at the till when placing your order makes it great for getting in and out quickly although I have also sat for a couple of hours with friends just for coffee and some fab cakes all of which are homemade on the premises i believe. There is a good choice of breakfast items and lots more for lunch including panini's, toasties, jacket potatos and sandwiches all with various fillings - my fave is the goats cheese and red onion panini, absolutly delicious! On visiting The Loft yesterday I had the chicken, bacon and mayo panini which was equally as nice and came with coleslaw and salad with a balsamic glaze which makes it much more interesting than just a boring side salad. There are 2 specials boards one for meals and one for puddings/desserts which change frequently to give you plenty of choice if you want something more than a sandwich. I've previously had hot quiche with salad and fried potato wedges (they are amazing), Lincolnshire sausages and mash with an onion gravy, fish pie with various vegetables and another fave was Chicken Katsu curry which I have only ever had a Wagamamas before but was just as good. All in all i would definately recommend.

We were a family party of five, three adults and two children under five. We arrived at 1.20pm and were informed that the restaurant closed at 2pm on that day, New Year's Eve. We placed our order quickly and when the drinks arrived, they were incorrect, with one coffee too many. A cash refund was given promptly for the overcharge...but the children's drinks failed to arrive. We went to the counter to ask for the drinks. It took thirty minutes for the restaurant to deliver two jacket potatoes, a panini and two children's meals. Only, one of the children's meals didn't arrive. After a while we went to the counter to enquire. The pasta appeared soon after with a mumbled apology that the delay was due to the garlic bread! Our plates were cleared away and then the children's desserts failed to arrive. Once again, up to the counter to enquire. We noticed that the two waitresses were frantically cleaning tables so they could leave on time, and completely ignoring customers. Such poor service. On the whole, the food wasn't too bad, though my jacket potato was an awful lot more substance than style - just a mass of tuna mayo plonked on top of a potato. Though it was my first visit, the people I dined with had eaten there before and had never before suffered this calamity of errors. It's funny isn't it, how easy it is to lose customers for good?

I don't want to pay 30 pounds to get the service we got. we was shocking beyond belief! "It's not my fault." Thats what she kept saying all the time whenever something was wrong. Who's fault is it then? Mine? I will never be going here ever again and would never EVER recommend this to anyone. Don't ever go, high prices and small portions. Drinks here are even worse needing a replacement drink twice, and then not even saying sorry.

I met a friend for lunch here during the holidays and was expecting an excellent lunchtime treat. I left feeling very disappointed by what was served. I opted for the tuna Panini, I also Panini had a sparkling mineral water. The Panini was served with a side salad and a coleslaw type salad. The Panini was the worst I have ever tried, underneath it was burnt and the leftover cheese from someone else’s toastie was apparent. The salad had a weird balsamic glaze on and the coleslaw type salad inedible. Service was okay but could have been more welcoming. Will I return? No!!

I was staying in the Premier Inn and bought the meal deal at The Anchor. Having dined here on several occasions the service is always amazing both at dinner and breakfast. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stu, Josh, Sky and the rest of the team are amazing and make your dining experience great. The food is always lovely.

I was called out in a storm to fix a problem on the road outside. The friendly gentleman from the pub kindly invited me in for a coffee and to warm myself up. I am very grateful for their kindness.

Went for a celebratory birthday meal to the Sheffield Arms which had come highly recommended. We weren't disappointed. It was the best 'pub' meal I've had in years. Two had meals from the menu and two of us had the wonderful all you can eat carvery. Everyone enjoyed their meals (lasagne and Yorkshire Pudding wrap) but the carvery was exceptional. Great choice of vegetables, meats, sausages and the most gorgeous baby potatoes. The staff were great, very cheerful and friendly and the puddings were delicious too. I understand that the Sunday carvery has even more choice. We paid £9.95 for the carvery - brilliant value. The pub is beautifully decorated; of course it was busy but the service was excellent. It still retains a local feel but definitely book if you want a meal. Thank you!!!!
