I put it a 4 went to the cafe as couldn't walk to far as disabled. Didn't know I had to enter reg into the machine as first time there. I did say it was our first time hear and know one mentioned it. So will wait for the fine to come through the post then take it back as i phoned the pub and was told to bring it in and speak to a lady called Steph, Food was lovely and a great selection of cakes. I will change star review if and when I get a fine through the post. Thanks

Enjoyed a couple of hours here, tables in the sun, and right by the canal, we only had light bites, but they were really tasty ,and there's a good selection of ales and wines. There's some great walks along the canal in both directions, and a pitch and put,at the bottom of the car park.

Clean and friendly service . Good for meals. No longer a good overnight stopping point for canal cruisers, though as they have introduced high parking charges in the canal side carpark and not really anywhere else to park for canal boat users. Alas the selection of draught ales and replaced with popular lagers etc. also drinks quite expensive now .

Don't get me wrong, it's in a pretty location (kinda, the main road basically ruins that) but weird vibes and the food is honestly abysmal. My fish and chips was not crispy at all, came with fries instead of chips and there was a lack of the absolute most basic sauce. Chicken wings tasted like bossman quality chicken (not great). Literally no redeeming qualities to being here. The girl that served us was sound but you got the feeling she was embarrassed to put the plate of food in front of me. (rightly so)

I went to the cafe here which is a friendly place. We were a while getting served as they were training people which is also fine. However I have since had a parking fine for parking in the correct car park of £100 ( £60 if pay promptly) I genuinely parked there to go to the cafe. We didn't go for a walk or anything else. I have just rang them and been told I need proof of purchase. Like i keep cafe receipts! They then said (and i don't think this was the cafe) I need to go in for them to verify I was there. Never again - what a shame

If you're looking for a pub that truly has it all—fantastic food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere for the whole family—look no further. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a friendly smile and a cozy ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The menu is a standout, offering a mix of classic pub favorites and some delightful surprises. Every dish is clearly made with care, using fresh ingredients and packed with flavor. Whether it's a perfectly cooked steak, a hearty Sunday roast, or a creative vegetarian option, there's something for everyone.

A small menu and when we went to order at least 3 of the dishes weren't available. Which made the choice very difficult. I had fish and chips, which was ok except the chips were fries, my wife's jacket potato was burnt and the curry was poor. Also, some of the beers were unavailable. The men's toilets were poorly maintained.

Great little tea room by the canal. Friendly staff good selection of food which is locally selected with a good variety of gluten free and lactose intolerant, Steph good out of her way to check all the ingredients ,from cakes ,cobs soups and jacket potatoes all at reasonable prices. The lock inn has a good selection of meals and beers loverly staff chef works hard to give good food at reasonable prices in the summer it's great to have a pint out side by the canal having a relaxed time watching the barges along the canal. The car park has parking cameras so parking is free for for four hours as long as you put your reg into the machine in the pub or tea room.

Four of us booked Saturday at 1 with our Dog. Dogs are very welcome in the bar. We had 3 steak and Guinness pie . It was home made with chips and veg . It was a high top crust. Was super , fresh and hot. The other was scampi and chips. Very friendly. Despite the place being tired no one can knock the food. We also visited the Smithy. Very friendly ladies. We took our dog in , Teddy 🧸. The lady cut up a fresh sausage which I must say he was very pleased to receive.

The Lock used to be well run and helpful. Now it’s awful no one seems to take any interest in it On my last 4 visits they have had no ice! What pub runs out of ice!!!!! This limits my choice of drinks And don’t ask for a hot drink instead! They can’t find a kettle. Or they have no milk. Or they have no hot chocolate. Or in effect they can’t be bothered to make it!!! If you reply to my message please don’t give a phone number to discuss matters I suggest you train staff correctly and sort out your ordering process In addition clear away all the broken tables on the grass area. It used to be a pleasure to sit there on a nice day. Now……,. It’s dreadful

Reaching Out is not going to stop your customers being confronted by these horrible signs. I know someone, elderly, who got a parking fine but didn't know about it and they thought it got stolen.... It took them ages to find out a towing company came and removed the car and the bill that accumulated from fine and impoundment meant they lost their car and their last few years of driving because of the stress they didn't buy another car. Who allowed the car parking signs? Parking Management Parasites now in operation here. Just read the threats on the signage. You can loose your livelihood if one of these fines snowballs when you aren't aware. 🤮 I pulled in here by mistake, just to use my phone and ended up spending 10 minutes downloading an app to pay a pound to avoid a fine. Tells me part of what's going wrong with this awful society.

My Wife and I together with friends dined at the Lock on Friday 11th October. Although the food was good we were disappointed in the evening for the following reasons. The room was cold. Two of us ordered the pie and on that basis I ordered red wine. The wine arrived cold as if it had been in the fridge, it should have been at room temperature. We were then informed that the pie had sold out so we had to make a new selection. The waitress should have been informed that the pie was not available before giving us the menu. I ended up with fish and chips which did not go well with the red wine. I had not finished my starter before the main course was brought to the table, I should have been allowed to finish and the plate removed before the main course was served. The fish was on top of the chips which made applying salt and vinegar difficult and why put the mushy peas in a separate container? We all commented on the vinegar being in sachets which are difficult to open and to use, why not in a bottle? The food was good and large portions, but the chips were very thin and went cold quickly.

Celebration meal and drinks when we arrived at 8.00 knowing the website says food stops at “9” we knew we were in time to order food My husband & our daughter went to the bar to order food and drink's there was another customer in front of them who ordered food & drinks my husband & daughter were asked what drinks we wanted so they ordered them they were then told the kitchen was closed & they were were the last in the queue at around 8:20 so we finished our drinks & left beyond angry that they’d been sold drinks & not allowed to order food so unfortunately we won’t be returning

I'm really sorry to be so negative about the Lock Inn at Wolverley. We visited last August & loved the place but now it would seem as though it's under new management, they need to update or close the website as the menu is nothing like what's on the site. Maybe they have shortages after the bank holiday weekend & have also had to recruit some new staff but they didn't really communicate this. Even what was served from what they actually had wasn't as described, the buttered cob wasn’t buttered,it was margarine, they forgot to tell us they'd run out of salad and the tortilla chips with cobs were absolutely tasteless. They did work putting a few in the cob to add crunch & we did get a refund for the lack of salad. The saving grace was that the chips were lovely & we wished we'd just gone for two portions of chips & some beer battered onion rings. Another thing was being charged for a beer before the pint was pulled. My husband had to ask for a partial refund because they had run out of the beer he'd paid for & the substitute was cheaper, didn't seem to know that mild & bitter are two very different brews. Unless we got them on a bad day they don't serve food all day either as the previous management did. It's still a lovely site, the beer was good but the new management really need to take down the old website & create a new page.

The website looks great. It does not reflect reality. We were driving through and picked this place on its location and trip advisor reviews. Looking through the reviews it seems it may have been taken over? The staff were perfectly nice. The building looks as though it is falling down, it smells like an old people’s home, and the nachos we had appeared to be a combination of nacho crisps, plastic orange square cheese and a tin of spicy, lumpy tomato soup dumped on top. We left after this. In need a refurb and some air freshener.

Booked a table for tonight for 6 people at 7pm on arriving we were told they had no steak or fish left bit disappointing but understandable as was fairly busy, went to the bar to order and it looked there was only one member of staff on, who advised that they had no soft drinks on draft only J20s and a cans of iron bru or Sanpellegrino! one order was for a curry no naan breads so offered chips instead and we couldn't swap the steak which they didnt have for gammon on the mixed grill as it was pre packed... food ordered and then it was a 2 hour wait before it arrived, this wasn't explained to us when ordering as we would of left and gone somewhere else if we were told this in advance, we were offered a free drink as compensation or a pudding but after being there for l nearly 3 hours we had all had enough and wanted to go home, will not be returning based on this experience and would recommend it to others too.
